  1. Electrical system, Jun 25, 2026

This is just a copy of what I sent to Honda. navigation cannot even be used because of this problem. this does create a safety issue when I'm in areas I'm not familiar with and the fact that I cannot use the maps function and have to look at my phone for directions. not to mention the constant distraction. Is Honda ever going to do anything about this trash? This is not okay and IS A SAFETY issue! This needs to be rectified. IM SICK OF IT and the lack of care from Honda is astonishing. I have my own videos but these are links of issues that others are having. mine is doing the exact same thing. read the comments for the amount of people dealing with this. THERE IS CLEARLY A PART ISSUE HERE! [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  2. Electrical system, Jun 17, 2026

While driving at 50 mph, the infotainment touchscreen began experiencing severe ghost touches, where the screen acts as if it is being repeatedly tapped by itself. The system rapidly cycled through menus on its own, making random phone calls via Bluetooth and changing the navigation map coordinates while I was in motion. This created a massive visual and mental distraction as I try to mute or stop the erratic behavior. Also When putting the vehicle in reverse, the phantom touches freeze the screen, blocking the backup camera feed entirely. The problem is worse on hot days. The dealer stated it is a known hardware delamination issue but I was told honda corporate told them not to replace it as the issue will re-occur do to their hardware malfunctioning. This is an extreme safety hazard and a distraction while driving. I am submitting this complaint to get honda to resolve this issue.

  3. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Jun 16, 2026

2022 Honda Accord Infotainment “Ghost Touch” Defect I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the infotainment touchscreen in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen intermittently registers false inputs (“ghost touches”) without any user interaction. During operation, the screen randomly changes radio stations, switches applications, exits navigation, opens menus, changes settings, and becomes unresponsive. The issue occurs while driving and forces the driver to divert attention from the roadway in an effort to regain control of the system. This defect creates a significant distraction and increases the risk of a crash, particularly when navigation is being used in unfamiliar areas. In some instances, the screen becomes completely unusable for extended periods. My understanding is that many other 2021–2022 Honda Accord owners have reported identical symptoms, including screen replacements that failed to permanently resolve the problem. Numerous public complaints describe the same malfunction and indicate that the issue may be widespread. I believe this defect warrants investigation because it affects a driver interface that is relied upon during vehicle operation. Honda has not provided a permanent repair solution, and affected owners continue to experience recurring failures across multiple Honda models and trims. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this defect and determine whether a recall or other corrective action is warranted. Vehicle: 2022 Honda Accord

  4. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Other or unspecified, Jun 16, 2026

Component Affected: Electrical System / Vehicle Speed Control / Forward Visibility / Navigation / Infotainment Description of Safety Hazard: I am experiencing a severe, highly unpredictable, and dangerous hardware defect involving the factory infotainment system on my 2022 Honda Accord Sport SE. The screen suffers from a hardware failure known as "ghost touching," where the digital interface registers rapid, erratic touch inputs completely on its own without being touched. This defect creates an immediate and severe driver distraction while the vehicle is in motion by automatically placing uncommanded phone calls to random contacts, changing settings, turning the radio on, and forcing sudden, loud audio spikes that startle the driver. Furthermore, these chaotic system glitches directly impact critical driving, navigation, and safety systems: GPS Navigation Failure: The ghost touches actively disrupt the GPS navigation system. The screen will randomly force the GPS map on when not in use, or it will glitch, freeze, and misroute while I am actively trying to navigate heavy traffic. This renders the primary navigation entirely useless, leaving me stranded and forcing my attention away from the road to attempt a manual override. Cruise Control Dropout & Auditory Panic Hazard: The system intermittently triggers a critical error on the dashboard that completely disables the vehicle’s Cruise Control / Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) systems at highway speeds. When this error flashes, the vehicle emits a loud, non-stop, continuous warning chime that refuses to turn off until the car's computer system randomly resets itself. This non-stop beeping creates an intense visual and auditory panic situation while driving at high speeds, completely shattering driver focus.

  5. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Visibility/wiper, Jun 12, 2026

My display screen (infotainment) that has almost all the setting to my car on it has been glitching every single time I drive my car. It has what is being described as "ghost touch". It will just flick back and forth between all different settings to my car, turn on and off the radio and go between stations, set destinations on my maps, submitting incidents on my maps, calling my contacts, requesting voice commands which lowers the fan speed on my ac and heat when doing so and numerous other settings including how my car locks itself, rear camera setting, audio settings, it is going through everything while driving and while stationary. I believe it is a major hazard, it as startled me so many time by just randomly blasting a radio station while im driving, messing with my navigation on maps while driving, I have been distracted so many times when I should have been focused on the road but instead I am trying to stop it from changing settings, calling people, trying to cancel routes its setting on my maps and ect. The problem is a "known issue" according to the Honda dealership I bought it from and took in to look at for repair. Also I quick Google search of "2022 honda accord sport screen glitching" brings up tons of other people dealing with this same issue and there is apparently no fix for it. Honda said you can buy a new screen but it may still do it since there is no official fix for this. It drives me crazy to even drive this car and I commute to work over a hour and a half on highways with it freaking out the whole way most of the time.

  6. Electrical system, Jun 12, 2026

I had brought my Honda Accord into Honda of Muskogee to have the touchscreen looked at for ghost touching while the car was still under warranty. On the very first visit, the morning I brought it in the temperature was low and it was nice outside and they could not reproduce the issue. They also did not complete the oil change properly on my car, nor rotated the tires, they also mangled the nuts that hold the positive battery post down. This was on a brand new car when it happened. Fast forward to 2026, my manufacturer's warranty is expired. I have contacted Honda Corporate probably 3 times to see if they would honor the warranty on my factory unmodified radio that came with the car. I advised them I wanted any other dealership that is certified to do the work, besides Muskogee. That location has a vendetta against me now because I am reporting them for stealing people's money and not doing the work their customers paid for. Their customers are ASKING for work that they pretend they have no idea about. PROBLEM: The digitizer is failing due to bad parts/delamination of some sort, it causes frequent ghost touching which can disrupt important safety information on the screen such as navigation data on a fast highway. It also ghost touches and turns off the HVAC system so the microphone can hear you, in the summertime this is incredibly dangerous as you cannot bypass it to ensure you stay cool in a heat wave if the radio keeps doing this. I am afraid this distraction is either going to cause myself, or anyone else with a 2022 Honda Accord that - for whatever reason they have NOT issued a manufacturers' recall for defective digitizers. This radio has done this practically the entire time I have owned the car, I am so upset with it.

  7. Electrical system, Jun 11, 2026

Ghost touch/tapping on my radio display. Screen is malfunctioning as if someone is tapping the screen when no one is touching it.

  8. Electrical system, Equipment, Jun 10, 2026

    See attached document for complaint.

  9. Electrical system, Jun 5, 2026

My touchscreen is experiencing "ghost touch" per the dealership. They explained it as it refers to an issue where the infotainment screen registers random taps or clicks on its own. It is highly distracting as the screen beeps consistently and blinks randomly. I have 3 young drivers and see this as a big distraction. The dealership said Honda recommended not replacing it as they are fully aware of it and the fix doesn't fix it. It's definitely not a response you want to hear while you're still paying on the car and have young drivers. I fortunately have an extended warranty and they are willing to replace it but I'm concerned that the replacement will experience the same, that is why I am filing a complaint here. I called multiple Honda dealerships and they are aware of the problem but also said Honda is advising not to replace. I have seen many complaints where Honda owners had to pay for the replacement out of pocket and that's disappointing. It sure does seem like a manufacture error and hope Honda does the right thing. I have been a Honda owner for over 30 years but with my latest purchase and experience, I'm definitely rethinking my next purchase.

  10. Electrical system, Jun 4, 2026

The touchscreen display has failed and has to be replaced according to the dealership service department. This is a known issue with this generation Honda (10th generation) where the digitizer in the screen fails under heat exposure in the cabin.

  11. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Jun 3, 2026

, I had MY Honda dealership replace my touchscreen and head unit due to issues with ghost touches and apps switching back and forth. Once I got my car back, which took two weeks, the problems seemed to be resolved. However, after a few weeks, the ghost touches started happening again, about once a week. I was planning to live with that, given the amount of time they had my car. Now, fast forward to the present time: the ghost touches are back, and the touchscreen refuses to function 95% of the time. I had contacted my service advisor at the dealership on 5/28/26 and replied that she would get with the Service manager and shop foreman. This is ashame that a company like Honda could not stand by their product better to fix this issue that has been known since 2024.

  12. Electrical system, May 26, 2026

The touchscreen/head unit on my 2022 Honda Accord Sport SE (VIN: [XXX] ) consistently exhibits ghost touch behavior — the screen makes random phantom inputs while I am driving, without any physical contact. This causes the navigation to be rerouted or cancelled mid-drive, audio to change sources and volume unexpectedly, menus to open randomly, and CarPlay to become completely non-functional. This occurs every time I drive the vehicle and constitutes a significant safety distraction. I rely on GPS navigation for every drive. Honda has acknowledged this is a known issue affecting 2021–2022 Accord models but has stated no fix is currently available. The dealer has confirmed the issue and been unable to resolve it. I have opened a case with American Honda Consumer Support (Case #XXX) requesting a loaner vehicle and vehicle exchange. No recall has been issued despite this being a widespread, documented safety defect with multiple NHTSA complaints filed by other owners. 13. Electrical system, Back over prevention, May 24, 2026

This vehicle is experiencing an aggressive, heat-accelerated hardware degradation of the central capacitive screen assembly commonly identified as ghost glitching, culminating in a total crash of the primary graphic interface and touch controller hardware. While your customer service infrastructure routinely classifies display anomalies as low-priority convenience or entertainment glitches, an objective systems analysis reveals that Honda has centralized critical safety telemetry, emergency communications, and vehicle calibration gateways into a single, unbacked hardware node. Consequently, the catastrophic failure of this infotainment module directly compromises the operational safety of this vehicle, presenting an immediate, unpredictable hazard not only to myself but to the general driving public sharing the roadway. The systematic failure modes of this defect are detailed as follows: 1 Multi-Module Network Failure and Primary Gauge Cluster Blindness The failure of the central display audio unit is not isolated to an entertainment screen. It acts as a network parasite that actively destabilizes the vehicle's primary Driver Information Interface DII on the steering wheel instrument cluster. Toggling the steering wheel controls to view Audio or System telemetry on the primary driver's dash gauge results in an immediate, total blackout of the left digital dashboard display. Because the central infotainment unit's microprocessor is frozen, degraded, or locked up, it fails to respond to high-priority internal Controller Area Network CAN bus data requests from the instrument cluster. This creates a severe data bottleneck that blinds the operator to system telemetry directly behind the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds. Furthermore, while the vehicle's secondary hardwired communication circuit allows background audio streaming and steering wheel track-skipping overrides to function, the manual physical volume controls, dashboard knob,

My radio is ghost glitching. It randomly does it. I can't listen to anything or do anything on the screen.. it keeps the whole drive. It won't allow me to upload the video. I can send it via email.

  15. Electrical system, May 21, 2026

The touch screen for the radio is having ghost tapping and it is switching from the radio to Bluetooth to turning on and off by itself.

  16. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, May 21, 2026

My 2022 Honda Accord Infotainment have what is being referred to as "Ghost Touches" the screen very erratically switches between settings in the system, clear programmed data, and adjust the radio and volume without being touched. This has been a major distraction while driving and pose has huge safety risk for myself and put others at risks for accidents. I have had several near misses because of this. You never know when it will happen so when it does, it immediately removes your eyes off the road where it should be while driving to try and attempt to get it to stop because the switching is loud and distracting especially with the volume adjustments. I purchased the vehicle new, the first owner and not even a three months later the nightmare began. I have taken it to the Honda dealership serval times when it is happening and the course of action is a screen reset and the issue still persist. There were no warnings or lights that came on prior to it to happening, it just began and has never stopped. The reset is not a sufficient solution and the only other option there is to replace it which cost well over a thousand dollars and most customers can't afford it. This a serious Honda issue that needs to be address because there are a lot of customers having this issue and nothing is being done about it or assistance with getting it repaired.

  17. Electrical system, May 20, 2026

The infotainment touchscreen experiences ‘ghost touching,’ where the screen activates functions without driver input. The system randomly changes screens, activates apps, changes music/navigation, and becomes unresponsive while driving. This creates a significant driver distraction and safety concern. The issue occurs intermittently and has continued despite troubleshooting/reset attempts. Dealership acknowledged the issue as ‘ghost touch.’ Very disappointing that this isnt a recall. Having this problem not even 6 months after purchasing this car for over 30k

  18. Electrical system, Lane departure, May 16, 2026

This car has well known issues with the infotainment system probably since it came out and nothing has been fixed. There are constant ghost touches/glitching, especially when it gets hotter outside. Now after owning it for a year, Apple CarPlay freaks out. I’ll be listening to music and then suddenly the screen goes black. The buttons still work on the blacked out screen but nothing will pop back up. I had my dealership take a look and this is an ongoing issue with Honda. I’ve seen car forums talk about the same thing for years and nothing is being resolved permanently. This can be a distraction safety hazard. My other issue is the lane keep assist. It doesn’t detect lanes very well, especially if it’s faded or has sealed cracks. I could be driving the freeway speed limit and then the car suddenly brakes hard. I’m lucky no one was directly behind me when these incidents have happened or else I would’ve been rear-ended. Safety hazard for both complaints.

  19. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, May 15, 2026

My car infotainment system keeps on having a "Ghost Touch" and it keeps on being a distraction when im using the GPS and it is a hazard being on the road especially in [XXX] where drivers are reckless. Other people have been having same issue, at least 80% that i have seen in person and online. This should be on a recall or at least have honda figure out the issue since theyre selling there cars over 30k+ it should st least be working for a good while and not a hazard on the road. 20. Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, May 6, 2026

Both my Road Departure Mitigation and Collision Mitigation Braking System both randomly turn off and show “setting incomplete” when I attempt to put them from off to on. After 5-7 days of normal driving both systems will turn back on and thereafter work for 5-7 days before turning off once again. I have not been involved in any accidents. I’m afraid off unprovoked braking from these electrical safety support systems not working correctly causing possible serious injury to me and others and also causing me emotional mental anxiety while driving due to documentation of these issues in my specific Honda causing possible accidents due to the faulty safety support systems I’m experiencing.

  21. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, May 6, 2026

Thank god nothing has happened but almost. I bought my car brand new and 2 weeks into having it I have been having issues with the infotainment system. Its very distracting. Sometimes it distracts me so much that I swerve while driving trying to stop it. It also is interfering with my experience listening to music. Something needs to be done as im not the only one having this experience.

Subject: Safety Concern – Infotainment Screen Malfunction (2022 Honda Accord) I am reporting a safety-related issue with my 2022 Honda Accord involving the infotainment display system. The screen is experiencing a “ghost touch” malfunction, where inputs occur without any physical interaction. This causes the system to randomly change settings, switch screens, activate functions, and interfere with navigation and audio controls while driving. This issue creates a significant safety concern because it: Distracts attention away from the road while attempting to correct the system Interferes with navigation and vehicle settings Causes unpredictable behavior of in-dash controls The problem persists even after restarting the vehicle and has not been resolved through basic troubleshooting. [Include this if applicable: The issue has continued after a factory reset and/or prior repair attempt.] Due to the ongoing and unpredictable nature of this malfunction, I believe this defect poses a risk to safe vehicle operation. I am requesting: A full diagnostic and documented repair attempt Consideration for warranty coverage or goodwill repair Escalation of this issue as a potential safety defect Please provide documentation of this concern and any findings, as I may also be submitting this issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for further review. 24. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Apr 27, 2026

Hello, I am having issues with the infotainment system on my accord. It is suffering from the ghost touch issue. When this happens the car constantly makes an alert beep and then randomly starts going through the menus on the system. Here are a few of the issues that can result. Navigation changes or setting change, radio can change or even turn on or off or change inputs, the cars setting can change, it can start calls to any of your contacts including emergency #s. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off the screen. However if the radio is on, you can not turn it off. This results in the driver constantly having to divert their attention to the radio /infotainment system from the road. It is extremely distracting and very unsafe. This is a known issue and there is no active recall. As far as I can tell this has not been fixed in replacements, simply a new version of the same radio is put into the car. I would expect that this has or will create accidents if is nor recalled. As these cars age, this will get worse for all of them. I did reach out to honda and they informed me there is no recall. Please help keep people on the road safe!

11686537 prior complaint #. I want to add to my prior complaint. I have has this car going on almost a year. During the winter months there was no issues with the informatic system. Once we experienced our first 80 degree day it immediately started again. This is becoming unsafe as it causes anyone driving the car to become distracted due to the constant switching of screens. If you try and use the GPS that becomes impossible because it switches on its own causing the driver to have to take their eyes off the road. This is also resetting your setting. I had my car set to autolock and at some point it reset that and then my car was broken into and stuff was stolen from inside. The informatic system is completely unusable when this happens and is pretty much every time you use the car when the weather is over a certain temperature. I have heard some people doing things to maybe help to prevent this but I have paid for a vehicle with a long standing history of safety and quality. So I do not believe I need to alter my vehicle in any way to prevent standard equipment from operating properly.
