THE SUNVISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND WAS REPLACED ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THE REPLACEMENT RECENTLY BROKE AND NEEDS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. THE VISOR HANG DOWN IN THE DRIVERS FIELD OF VIEW AND IS IN THE POSITION THAT A PERSON OF AVERAGE OR ABOVE AVERAGE HEIGHT CAN STRIKE THEIR HEAD UPON IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH OR EVEN ENTERING AND EXITING THE AUTOMOBILE. *TR

I'VE NOTICED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT BROKEN SUN VISORS. MY 08 CIVIC HYBRID GOT A CRACK IN THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR. PRIOR TO THAT, IT WAS ALWAYS VERY HARD TO SWING THE VISOR TO THE SIDE OR TO CLIP IT BACK IN. MAYBE SOMETHING WAS TOO TIGHT, AND THAT'S WHY IT EVENTUALLY CRACKED. MY DEALERSHIP REPLACED IT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, IF IT HAD HAPPENED A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THEY WOULDN'T HAVE. SOUNDS LIKE THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE VISORS AND HONDA NEEDS TO REPLACE THEM EVEN IF THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR

MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC, I HAVE TO CHANGE THE VISORS(BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE) FOR THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS. I HAD TO CHANGE THE VISOR EVERY YEAR AND I HAD ENOUGH OF THIS NONE SENSE. I HAVE TO DRIVE 20 MILES TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND I JUST DON'T LIKE IT. *TR

BOTH VISORS IN MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC EX MODEL MELTED OR BROKE AND NOW CANNOT CLOSE AWAY POSING AS VISUAL IMPEDIMENT. I CALLED A HONDA DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY'D FIX IT BECAUSE I LEARNED FROM FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2008 HONDA CIVICS THAT DEALERSHIPS IN THEIR TOWN FIXED IT FOR FREE. MY DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HADN'T HEARD OF THE PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO REPAIR. *TR

I GOT IN MY CAR AND PULLED DOWN THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND IT BROKE. I TRIED PUSHING IT BACK UP AGAINST THE TOP LINING, BUT IT KEPT FALLING DOWN. I HAD TO DRIVE 10 MILES TO GET HOME WITH MY VISION PARTIALLY BLOCKED BECAUSE THE VISOR WOULD NOT STAY UP. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY HONDA CIVICS. *TR

THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE WHILE ADJUSTING WITHIN NORMAL OPERATION. THE VISOR NOW HANGS LOOSELY IN THE UPRIGHT LOCKED POSITION, CAUSING AN OBSTRUCTION FOR HEAD MOTION. WHILE IN USE TO BLOCK THE SUN, THE VISOR HANGS LOWER THAN DESIGNED AND OBSTRUCTS VISION.

THE SUN VISOR ON BOTH SIDES IS CRACKED AND FAILS TO STAY UP. IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE TRAFFIC SIGNALS OR BLOCK THE SUN FROM YOUR EYES. IT IS A DRIVING HAZARD. APPARENTLY, THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS. THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED THE DESIGN.

I PURCHASED MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC LX COUPE ON NOVEMBER 25TH, 2009. WHEN I PURCHASED IT, IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 12K MILES. IN THE SUMMER OF 2010, BOTH OF MY SUN VISORS BROKE. IT APPEARS THAT THE SWIVEL PART OF THE VISOR WASN'T LUBED GOOD ENOUGH AND SO IT SNAPPED THE VISORS OPEN. IT BROKE THE PLASTIC PART THAT HELP IT ALL TOGETHER. IT HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. IT COSTS ABOUT $50 EACH VISOR. DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. *TR

I HAVE A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. AFTER ABOUT 30K MILES, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IS DAMAGED. THE VISOR IS CRACKED AND THE METAL STICK IS EXPOSED. THE VISOR DOESN'T STAY UP AND HAS TO REMAIN DOWN OR ELSE IT WILL HIT MY HEAD WHEN I DRIVE. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER AND THE VISOR DOESN'T GET MAN HANDLED. I READ ON SEVERAL SITES THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. HONDA WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND USUALLY VISORS DON'T GET DAMAGED THAT EASY. I AM HOPING THAT HONDA WILL FIX IT WITHOUT CHARGING $56 FOR THE PART AND $200 FOR THE LABOR. HELP. *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW HONDA CIVIC SEDAN IN 2008. AT AROUND 40,000 MILES, THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR HAS SPLIT APART AND WILL NOT STAY UP. IT FLOPS DOWN MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE THE ROADS. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE VISOR TO GET REPAIRED, BUT MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE. *TR

2008 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE AND BRAKES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY FOR 20 -30 MINUTES AT A TIME WHILE DRIVING. THE AC KNOB WAS TURNED ON, BUT THE BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING. WHEN THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER, SHE WAS INFORMED DYE HAD BEEN PLACED IN THE AC SYSTEM AND TO RETURN IN 3 WEEKS TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY LEAKS. THE CONSUMER RETURNED 3 WEEKS LATER AND NO LEAKS WERE FOUND. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONSUMER THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE UNLESS AC/HEATER BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME. IN DECEMBER 2009, WHILE IT WAS RAINING, THE WINDSHIELD BECAME FOGGED, BECAUSE THE BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALER IN TIME FOR THEM TO WITNESS, THAT THE AC/ HEATER BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING, BUT AS THE TECHNICIAN WENT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE INTO THE SERVICE BAY, IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. ON ONE OCCASION WHEN THE CONSUMER ARRIVED AT THE DEALER, THE BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING, BUT WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED, IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THERE IS A WIRING PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE ENGINE WOULD SURGE WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED. *JB

I HAVE A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. 1 YEAR INTO OWNING IT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR SPLIT ON THE SEAM SO THAT IT WOULDN'T GO UP OR DOWN, IT HANGS DOWN IN ONE POSITION. I GOT IT FIXED STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT NOW JUST 2 YEARS LATER, IT HAS SPLIT AGAIN. I BARELY USE IT. IT IS UP WHILE I'M DRIVING (WHEN' IT'S DOWN, I'M SO TALL IT'S IN MY LINE OF VISION) AND WHEN I PARK, I PUT IT DOWN SO THAT I CAN PUT MY SUN VISOR UP. THAT'S IT. I CALLED HONDA AND EVEN THOUGH THIS WOULD BE THE 2ND VISOR IN 3 YEARS, THEY WILL STILL CHARGE $75 FOR ANOTHER ONE. *TR
