Dealers will inspect and install a support brace or repair the rear frame, as necessary, free of charge. Depending on the extent of any corrosion damage, Honda may offer to repurchase the vehicle. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is UE3.

ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. ENGINE STALL AND UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF A ROLLING VEHICLE.

In our 2007 CRV the passenger front and rear door locks lock automatically right after using the fob or power lock control. I have to stand right at the door handle to grab it the moment I click the unlock button to be able to open the door. Our safety is jeopardized by the lock malfunction because if I don’t have the key in hand I cannot open the passenger side doors and if you have kids this is a big concern. This happens every time we use the vehicle which is daily. We have not taken it to a dealership at this time. This specific problem has not been inspected. This problem just began several months ago and has occurred everyday since.

BOTH PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. THEY MAKE A VERY LOUD NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOCK/UNLOCK. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY WILL ONLY STAY UNLOCKED FOR A BRIEF MOMENT BEFORE MOVING BACK TO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED MAKING A LOUD RACKET DRIVING AND STOPPING - WHEN YOU WERE DRIVING OVER 10 MPH LOCKS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AND THEN WHEN YOU STOP AND PARK UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY. APPARENTLY THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT COVERED FRONT DRIVER ACTUATOR AND RIGHT AND LEFT REAR DOOR LOCKS. THIS EXTENSION WARRANTY EXPIRED NOVEMBER 2015. HOWDY HONDA DEALERSHIP HERE IN AUSTIN TEXAS WAS ABLE TO HAVE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE BACK DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THE NEW ACTUATOR WAS GOING OFF CONTINUOUS IN ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE BACK DOORS. I TOOK BACK TO HOWDY HONDA, THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPROGRAM MY KEY TO STOP IT FROM TRYING TO CONTINUOUSLY LOCK THE BACK DOORS AS IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE NEW ACTUATOR WOULD WEAR OUT RAPIDLY FROM DOING THIS.. IF I AM DRIVING AND STOP AT A LIGHT OR CROSSING, ANYONE CAN JUST OPEN THE BACK DOOR AND HOP INSIDE MY CAR AND CAR JACK ME. ALSO, WITH THESE DOORS NOT LOCKING I CANNOT SET THE ALARM. THIS AFFECTS MY INSURANCE, AS I HAVE CAR INSURANCE STATING I HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM - WELL IF MY CAR IS VANDALIZED OR STOLEN IT WILL COME BACK TO MY PROBLEM AS I DID NOT SET THE ALARM - I CANNOT SET THE ALARM THE BACK DOORS DO NOT EVER LOCK. I EXPLAINED THE INSURANCE PROBLEM IF VANDALIZED OR STOLEN; I EXPLAINED THE SAFETY ISSUE OF BEING CAR JACKED OR SOMEONE OPENING THE BACK DOOR AT A STOP AND GRABBING ONE OF MY KIDS FROM THE BACK SEAT OR GETTING INTO THE CAR. THE COST QUOTED IS $552.00 TO REPAIR BACK DOOR LOCKS - THIS IS ALL CONNECTED TO THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR ACTUATOR THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT HAS NOW BEEN DISABLED BY HOWDY HONDA AS IT WAS GOING OFF AND ON CONTINUOUSLY TRYING TO LOCK BACK DOORS AND THAT WOULD WEAR OUT THE NEW ACTUATOR JUST INSTALLED 10/26/2016 UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

PASSENGER FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR (NHTSA REFERENCE: #10057463) - I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY HONDA OF THIS CLASS-ACTION SETTLEMENT - MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME ON 8-30-16 OF THIS SETTLEMENT DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE - AFTER CONTACTING HONDA AMERICA AT 800-999-1009 -EXT [XXX], I WAS INFORMED THE SETTLEMENT FOR THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR ACTUATOR WAS AMENDED AND TERMINATED AS OF NOVEMBER 2015 - MY PASSENGER FRONT DOOR ACTUATOR HAS BEEN NON-WORKING SINCE THE 1ST QUARTER OF 2015 - HONDA HAS POLITELY REFUSED ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION - TWICE I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT A MANAGER WILL CALL TO REVIEW MY REQUEST; NO CALLS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED - I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM HONDA (I.E. MARCH 2016 REGARDING THE AIRBAGS) SO I AM DEFINITELY IN THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM - HAD I BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR ACTUATOR SETTLEMENT I WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER FOR A PROMPT AND FULL REPAIR FREE OF CHARGE QUESTIONS: A) DOES HONDA AMERICA BEAR ANY BURDEN OF HAVING TO DOCUMENT THEY DID SEND WRITTEN NOTIFICATION OF THIS SETTLEMENT IN A TIMELY MANNER? B) WHY WAS A TERMINATION DATE AGREED TO OF NOV. 2015? IF A PART IS DEFECTIVE, AS IT CLEARLY IS IN MY SITUATION, IT WILL REMAIN DEFECTIVE EVEN AFTER NOV. 2015? C) WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE THAT THE NHTSA CAN ASSIST ME WITH? THANK YOU INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SPRING BRANCH HONDA IN HOUSTON, TX FOR THE RECALL REPAIR; NOW THE LEFT REAR DOOR CYCLES LOCK/UNLOCK WHEN STOPPING AND STARTING EVERYTIME YOU STOP/START, BUT WILL NOT LOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED-OFF NOR AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE LEFT DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION NOR AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. EVEN THOUGH MY EIGHT YEAR OLD IS WEARING A SEATBELT I'M STILL AFRAID HE MAY OPEN THE DOOR ACCIDENTALLY AND FALL OUT OF A MOVING VEHICLE. *TR

BACK DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. IT SEEMS THATS THE LATCH IS NOT HOLDING EVEN WHEN LOCK. WITH LITTLE FORCE I CAN OPEN THE DOOR WHEN IT SUPPOSE TO BE LOCK. DOOR WILL ALSO BECOME UNLOCK BY THE BUMP FORCE OF SPEED BUMBS. THE CAR HAS LOW MILIEGAE AND NEVER BEEN IN A CRASH. I FEEL THAT THE LOCKING COMPONENTS SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER THAN 83K MILES. IT SEEMS THAT OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT HONDA IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. SOMEONE GET THIS GOING AND PUT A RECALL IN ORDER. *JS
