While driving on the turnpike, we heard a loud explosion sound and our sunroof shattered. The weather was sunny and clear and there was no other vehicles near us at the time. There was nothing on the road ways either.

  2. Power train, Other or unspecified, Engine, Sep 13, 2026

Vehicle began to misfire on cylinder 3. As the issue continued more cylinders stared to misfire. Next was number 6, then 2 increased up the engine. Air fuel ratio was 1.6. Assuming it was fuel/air/electrical in nature, the spark plugs, and fuel injector were changed and air intake and upper valves were cleaned of carbon build up. All gaskets replaced by new. Discovered and replaced a bad egr valve. Last codes that the car displayed before towing to dealer were many misfire codes and 2 engine/transmission communication errors. Dealer shop discovered air fuel ratio of 1.35 and checked all work before. Discovered fuel pooling and some shiny areas in the engine from scoping it. Decided that if was a bad engine with internal failure and transmission. Quoted me 17000 (about the same value as the vehicle if it was jn very good condition) for a new engine and transmission or 6800 for a used engine alone at risk of replacing transmission as well assuming communication errors do not go way or transmission fails further. I have called honda corporate my reference # 16624114. I requested goodwill repair due to recalls and class action lawsuits related to connecting rods in engines of similar cars and model years. And transmissions recalls for similar cars and model years. Goodwill is unlikely but pending.

The rear latch on the passenger sliding door has stopped latching. The part seems rusted out, and the door doesn't stay closed. It actually slid open a few inches while we were driving. The door does not stay latched. Our daughter was sitting next to the door and was afraid of falling out.

  5. Other or unspecified, Aug 31, 2026

All of a sudden for no reason, error messages starting showing up on the dashboard. Such as: blind spot info system problem, lane keeping assist problem, transmission system problem, and others. The car runs fine. I took it to my local shop and they put a new battery in. At first the lights went out but then they came back. So I took it to the Honda dealership. They ran diagnostics and tell me the multipurpose camera needs to be replaced. At a cost of $1,996.00. I asked if the camera can just be taken out, but have been told that is not an option. Obviously many of the security features are tied to this device. We are taking an out of state trip this weekend to a family wedding so must get this fixed this week. I’m not comfortable driving the car that far in this condition. There were absolutely no problems with the car beforehand. It happened two days ago on Sat 8/29/26. We were returning from a day trip about 70 miles from home. When these error messages started popping up, the car was running fine and continued to do so.

  6. Other or unspecified, Aug 30, 2026

The front windshield camera mounted above the rear view mirror overheats and shuts off, causing a minimum of 14 errors to light up the dashboard screen during driving. This also prevents the back lift gate from opening once parked until the errors are cleared. This has happened multiple times, not always when it is hot and sunny, but the camera module overheats and shuts off anyway.

  7. Other or unspecified, Aug 26, 2026

From the date of purchase, the central display / infotainment screen intermittently turns off or loses connection (Pictures of different messages appearing on the screen attached). When this happens, I lose the rearview backup camera, GPS, radio, and the entire rear entertainment system, for which I paid a significant extra amount. While the vehicle was still under factory warranty, I reported this exact problem during my first and second service visits at Honda Canyon. On both occasions, the service advisor stated they "could not replicate the problem. I specifically asked: "What happens if this gets worse after warranty expires?" Your employee told me verbally that since the issue was documented as in the system, Honda would take care of it without charge. On XXX they did a software update (Invoice attached). After that, the problem got worse. Current situation: The problem has now gotten much worse - the screen is unusable most of the time, creating a safety risk when backing up without a camera. On XXX, I met with Service Manager Mark Wiseman at Honda Canyon. I provided printed photos of the different error messages shown on the screen. I left the vehicle for 10 days. No loaner was provided. Mr. [XXX] told me upon pickup that his technicians drove the vehicle "several times" and were able to see the messages but could not get the diagnostic code they needed. He stated he believes the issue is a device in the rear of the van. However, when I compared the mileage, the van was driven only 0.6 miles in 10 days, contradicting the statement that it was driven several times. Most concerning, Honda Canyon now claims their system shows no record that I complained about this problem while the vehicle was under warranty, despite two prior complaints. This is a pre-existing defect, reported under warranty, and is related to the known infotainment / MOST bus issues on 2018-2019 Odyssey models. The loss of the rearview camera is also a federal safety issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

All of the warning lights came on at the same time. The dealer says the internal front camera sensor has malfunctioned and has happened so much that the part is on back order.

  10. Other or unspecified, Aug 11, 2026

Each of the last 4 summers I have had air conditioning issues, this vehicle does not blow cold air for roughly 30 minutes into active use of the vehicle. In the Arizona climate this creates a danger to children and elderly adults during the summer months.

  11. Other or unspecified, Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Aug 3, 2026

On 8.1.26, while operating my 2019 Honda Odyssey, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, un-commanded automatic emergency braking event followed by a total failure of the brake-release fail-safe mechanisms. While driving in active traffic, the vehicle's forward-facing sensor system suffered a false-alarm trigger. Due to a severe design and component vulnerability, the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) switch suffered a simultaneous internal mechanical and electronic hardware failure. Because the EPB switch failed internally at the exact moment of the automatic braking event, the system failed to command a brake release. The vehicle’s wheels locked completely, leaving the vehicle completely immobilized in active traffic. This multi-system failure resulted in an immediate, life-threatening crash hazard. By random circumstance and the grace of God, a catastrophic rear-end collision was avoided, but this was a severe near-fatal safety event. A professional automotive diagnostic scan confirmed that the vehicle's computer retained 2 distinct fault incident codes documenting the internal hardware failure of the EPB switch. The dealership confirmed that the system provides absolutely no advance warning to the driver, and fails entirely "in the event," meaning the vehicle remains safe until it suddenly and unpredictably locks the brakes on the highway. The vehicle was repaired out-of-pocket for $297 to replace the defective switch. I am filing this complaint because an internal electronic switch failure must never result in an un-commanded, un-releasable wheel lockup while a vehicle is in motion. This indicates a fatal flaw in Honda's braking fail-safe architecture. This issue must be investigated immediately before it results in a future serious or fatal acciden.

Date/Time: XXX, 10:08 AM Location: AutoNation Honda, [XXX] Vehicle: 2019 Honda Odyssey (fuel pump previously replaced under prior Honda recall) Summary: •Refueled vehicle the prior day; strong gasoline odor present in cabin immediately after and persisting overnight. •Odor remained strong the following day — described as intoxicating, required driving with windows down in 100°+ heat to reach the dealership. •Brought vehicle to AutoNation Honda for inspection. •Dealer staff initially attributed the smell to a change in Arizona gasoline ethanol content, stating it was “not a car issue, a gas issue.” •Spoke with Mike, Service Manager, who stated the dealership has inspected approximately 40 similar vehicles with the same complaint and found no resolution. •Mike indicated Honda (the manufacturer) is aware of the issue and is working on a fix, but does not currently have one. •No diagnostic inspection of this vehicle has been performed as of this note (10:08 AM). •Requested a loaner vehicle due to the vehicle being unsafe to drive with children present. Loaner was declined. •Requested the refusal be provided in writing/email. Dealer declined to provide anything in writing. •Mike texted his next-level contact regarding the issue; response indicated AutoNation/dealer has received no official communication from Honda (manufacturer) regarding this issue. •As of 10:08 AM: vehicle has not been diagnosed, no loaner has been provided, and no official Honda guidance has been given to the dealership. Impact: Owner has 4 children and no alternate vehicle. No family/friend backup transportation available. No funds available for a rental vehicle. -Front multipurpose camera internal failure. Apparently this is a known cause which creates a "christmas tree" of warning lights: lane keeping assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, auto high beam problem, road departure mitigation system problem and collision mitigation assist problem. There is a class action lawsuit on this. - safety was at risk as I have 3 kids and I was worried that it was going to stall. I spent couple days going to the dealership and autozone trying to solve whether it was the battery, accelerator, or the camera and spent 125 dollars to assess the problem - problem has been reproduced my dealership. Just had it repaired - no other warning lights were present before this problem.

Automatic sliding door on the driver's side has a rear latch that will not hold the door closed. Currently being fixed at dealer. There was a recall for this model and year for this problem, however my VIN number is not included in the recall

My safety and families safety is exposed to gas smell leaking inside the vehicle when driving and do/did not have a way to escape the smell inside the vehicle. My children range from infant-teenage and for them to smell a toxic smell can impact their lives and safety

  16. Other or unspecified, May 11, 2026, crash

I was in a single vehicle car accident on Monday May 4th 2026 right at 6am central standard time. My 2019 honda odyssey has been totaled out by Insurance. Primarily all of the damages were on the front driver side, the air bags on both the steering wheel and under the steering wheel deployed but the side curtain airbag didn't not, and honda link also wasn't able to connect to emergency services once a crash was detected. The side curtain air bag not deploying has been pointed out and brought to my attention by almost every single person who has seen my vehicle since the accident. During the accident I swerved to avoid an animal that was running across the road and I over corrected and loss control and in a complete panic it has been assumed by everyone including myself that I accidently pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake.

Right slide door problem on dashboard. Continues to beep and blink right slide door problem while driving. The door will not open when stopped and in park.

  19. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Forward collision avoidance, Mar 12, 2026

I was commuting home, about 30 minutes into the drive, all of the dashboard and radio went blank for a few seconds. It came back on and the break light, anit-collision, lane departure, lights were all flashing. It did this 2 more times in the over the next 5 minutes. I was concerned for my safety because I wasn't sure if my breaks and all the other things were working propoerly. I didn't know how fast I was going or if my car was going to stall on the highway. I see that a recall was issued by honda yesertday, not for my car model, but a similar issue (a software bug can cause the instrument panel and rear-view camera to go blank). It has not yet been inspected by a repair person. There wre not any warning lights prior to this happening.

The driver-side power sliding door latch, motor and cable system on my 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite failed. Honda performed Recall A88 (sliding door handle cable repair) in 2021. After this repair the door began intermittently failing to close fully and would close about 80% before the sensor triggered it to reopen. This continued until this week when the door suddenly stopped latching completely. The automatic door buttons no longer work and the door can only be moved manually. I believe my vehicle should also be included in recalls Z33 and O36 addressing sliding door latch failures affecting similar 2019 Odyssey vehicles. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. This defect creates a serious passenger safety hazard. Because the door will not latch, it opens while driving. The automatic function does not work and the door can be moved manually but will not latch. This creates risk of passenger ejection, especially children, and the possibility of the door opening during a crash. The vehicle is unsafe to operate. Yes. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealership that inspected and diagnosed the sliding door failure. The vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership and I was charged a diagnostic fee. Honda refused recall or goodwill coverage because my VIN is not included. I request the repair be performed free under recalls Z33 and O36 and the diagnostic fee reimbursed. I am waiting for NHTSA inspection and request Honda be required to include my vehicle and repair it at no cost. Before total failure the door would close about 80% and automatically reopen. When it stopped working this week, the dashboard displayed a “Left Sliding Door Problem” warning and the vehicle produced continuous beeping while driving.

Reporting a failure of Safety Recall 23-046 / NHTSA Campaign 23V431000 on US vehicle. Post-recall 'remedy,' the vehicle suffers with the same MOST Network error and from severe parasitic battery drain as described in Honda Service Bulletin 23-061. This led to a total electrical failure and vehicle grounding in -24°C temperatures. This systemic MOST Bus network defect was previously the subject of the Conti v. American Honda (2:19-cv-02160) settlement. The vehicle is currently grounded at a dealership in Canada, and Honda Canada refuses to acknowledge the failure of the recall remedy or the resulting consequential damages (battery/starter failure). I am filing this to report an ineffective recall remedy on a US-certified vehicle. I have tried establishing contact with Honda US however there has been no response from them

The sunroof/moon roof glass suddenly popped and exploded. No debris of any kind or any car was near me. My car was alone. The roof spontaneously made a “pop” sound and exploded. I’m lucky I wasn’t killed, injured, or in an accident. Glass that explodes and shatters can cause serious harm. There is obviously some sort of defect in Honda’s sunroof glass. Please investigate this thoroughly.

The computer system for the sliding doors and back hatch do not work properly. They will occasionally stop working or will stop mid-open or close. In addition, on three separate occasions the sensors did not work. One time the back hatch started to close while I was getting something out of the trunk. It did not sense by body and would not stop. I tried to stop it physically but the hatch continued to close. If I had not gotten out of the way, it would have crushed me. This happened to my husband on a separate occasion as well. He is athletic - [XXX} and [XXX] and was pushing up with all of his strength and the hatch continued to close on him before he had to jump out of the way. On the third occasion - the sliding side door started to close on my [XXX] as I was helping him into his car seat. This issue WILL KILL SOMEONE. The 2019 Honda Odysseys need to be recalled immediately. I alerted my local Honda service center (Don Jacobs in Lexington, Ky). I asked them to notify Honda and they told me they wouldn't do that unless more people had similar issues. They have attempted to fix the computer system on several occasions and always say the issue is fixed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The problem with this vehicle is what I believe to be the transmission. When the car accelerates there is a delayed effect. The car jerks or unexpectedly accelerates while driving. Our safety has been compromised because of this issue. It’s random when these things happen. I’ve taken it the to dealership and they have said they found nothing wrong. There are no lights that come up.
