  1. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Sep 14, 2026

Rearview camera is showing up as green and purple on the screen. It makes seeing what is behind the car hard when in reverse. Dealer does not know what caused it but it started as intermittent but now is constant

  2. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Sep 11, 2026

This vehicle is equipped with Honda's Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system, which shuts the engine off automatically when the vehicle comes to a stop and is designed to restart it when the brake pedal is released. On XXX, while stopped at a light at approximatly [XXX], the engine shut off as normal, but failed to restart when I released the brake. The vehicle was inoperable for approximately one to two minutes while stopped in a busy traffic muilti-lane road at a light over an expressway, creating a serious risk of being struck from behind by other traffic. This is not an isolated occurrence, I experience this AIS no-restart failure on a regular/recurring basis, not just this one time. I am aware that Honda has issued service bulletins related to this issue (TSB 23-008, TSB 23-009) and that this defect is the subject of a certified class action settlement (In re Honda Idle Stop Litigation, No XXX). I believe this represents an ongoing safety defect that creates a real risk of a collision, particularly in higher-speed or higher-traffic conditions where a temporarily immobile vehicle is a hazard to itself and surrounding traffic. This vehicle has a rebuilt/salvage title (repaired and retitled prior to my purchase; it passed state inspection and is legally registered and roadworthy). When I contacted Honda about repair under the applicable service bulletins (TSB 23-008 / TSB 23-009) for this defect, I was told the rebuilt title status disqualifies this vehicle from that repair coverage. I am not seeking a warranty or cost remedy through this complaint, I am reporting this because it means an unknown number of vehicles with this safety defect are currently excluded from any manufacturer-provided fix, leaving the underlying no-restart hazard unaddressed on the road. The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with fuel injector failure. The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The fuel injectors were replaced. The contact became aware of Technical Service Bulletin: 21-010, NHTSA ID Number: 10187008 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical System, Equipment, Power Train). The contact called the dealer, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not covered under an extended warranty. The manufacturer was informed of the issue and confirmed that the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 91,670.

When at a red light or stop sign the vehicle will idle and turn off. The vehicle doesn’t want to restart. It takes a bit to get started again then it progresses. While parked I turned the car off for 5 minutes and it would not start up again. Tried the jump cables to make sure it wasn’t the battery had to have a tow truck come they were able to get the car jumped and started. Took the battery to get tested and the battery was perfectly fine. Something is wrong with the starter. It doesn’t happen all the time but it has happened to me a few times and it’s not safe with me and kids in the car.

  7. Electrical system, Engine, Aug 28, 2026

We have had the car since bought new in 2019 and has about 105k miles. Since then it has had 4 new batteries and going to the dealership again for the same issue. The car struggles to start sometime and other we have to take multiple sttemps to hit the start button. Even then it feels like it is struggling to start. Also if we leave the start/stop fucnction "On" it stugggles to start at stop lights and in the most recent case it did the start at a stoplight once again. This has happened multiple time since we got the car and the dealership has done all the recalls and repalced the battery multiple time. This newest case the battery is new from Honda and less then a year old. We are afraid and concerned if the car will turn on anytime we go somewhere and trust my 2012. No warning light or anything comes on. If stopped in the wrong place this can cause a serious accident or injury.

  8. Electrical system, Aug 26, 2026

Beginning last week, when shifting into reverse, the infotainment display (showing camera image) displays distorted, scrambled, or rolling color lines. Although Many 2019–2022 Honda Pilot SUVs are covered by an official safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 23V431) due to a defective coaxial cable connector (MOST connector) that deforms terminals and loses connection, this particular vehicle is not included in this safety recall. As we have young children, our safety is at risk because the rear-facing camera is not functional. Vehicle has not yet been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other indications or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I am happy to make the vehicle available for inspection.

MY 2019 HONDA PILOT EX-L WAS STOLEN FROM OUR DRIVEWAY IN JERSEY CITY, NJ ON OR ABOUT JULY 16, 2026. THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED. BOTH FACTORY KEY FOBS REMAINED IN MY POSSESSION AND WERE INSIDE MY RESIDENCE AT THE TIME. NO WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND NO GLASS WAS FOUND AT THE SCENE, INDICATING THE VEHICLE WAS OPENED AND STARTED ELECTRONICALLY RATHER THAN BY FORCED ENTRY OR MECHANICAL BYPASS. WE HAVE A VIDEO RECORDING OF THE INCIDENT CAPTUREd BY OUR HOUSE SECURITY CAMERA. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECOVERED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE JERSEY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT [26-140624]. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HONDA SMART ENTRY AND PUSH-BUTTON START. SECURITY RESEARCHERS HAVE PUBLICLY DOCUMENTED A ROLLING-CODE VULNERABILITY IN HONDA REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS (CVE-2022-27254, KNOWN AS "ROLLING-PWN") REPORTED TO AFFECT HONDA VEHICLES FROM MODEL YEARS 2012 THROUGH 2022, WHICH INCLUDES THIS VEHICLE. HONDA HAS PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT REMOTE KEYLESS COMMANDS CAN BE MIMICKED, BUT HAS STATED IT HAS NO PLAN TO UPDATE OLDER VEHICLES. NO RECALL, SOFTWARE UPDATE, OR OWNER REMEDY HAS BEEN OFFERED FOR THIS VEHICLE. POLICE DEPARTMENTS IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY, INCLUDING NEWARK, HAVE ISSUED PUBLIC WARNINGS IN 2026 THAT THIEVES ARE USING ELECTRONIC DEVICES TO CAPTURE OR RELAY KEY FOB SIGNALS TO STEAL LATE-MODEL HONDA VEHICLES. THE PATTERN DESCRIBED IN THOSE WARNINGS MATCHES THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THIS THEFT. I AM REPORTING THIS AS A POTENTIAL SAFETY AND SECURITY DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC IMMOBILIZER AND KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. A VEHICLE THAT CAN BE OPENED AND DRIVEN AWAY WITHOUT THE KEY PRESENT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE ANTI-THEFT IMMOBILIZER AND CREATES RISK BEYOND PROPERTY LOSS, INCLUDING THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE BY AN UNAUTHORIZED AND UNIDENTIFIED DRIVER ON PUBLIC ROADS. I REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE WHETHER A DEFECT INVESTIGATION IS WARRANTED FOR HONDA KEYLESS ENTRY AND IMMOBILIZER SYSTEMS IN THESE MODEL YEARS.

The entertainment system shuts down and repeatedly restarts during driving. When it shuts down, an error screen states "Network Communication Lost" and "MOST NET OFF". When it shuts down, the rearview camera function fails when the vehicle is in the reverse gear. Using today's date. This failure has occurred repeatedly. The NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-431 does not include this VIN; however, the failure symptoms appear to be identical

In the past month 4 times I had a Software, Module malfunction. All lights in in the dash are on like a Christmas Tree. Believe is related to the PGM. When to the Honda dealer in Winter Haven explained what happened and show a short video and they said that because my Vin [XXX] have no recall I have to pay $89.99 for an inspection and other charges to fix the problem. I told the service department that my battery & alternator were Ok that many Honda vehicles had the same problems and that I believe is the PGM. When this happens I can’t turn the Suv off, the brakes started acting weird, can’t open the rear door and the engine accelerates. If this is not a safety hazard I don’t know what it is. I have an appointment tomorrow with the dealer but I think that pay for a manufacturer malfunction is no way of doing business INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  13. Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 16, 2026

VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT - RECALL REPAIR FAILURE AND CMBS MALFUNCTION I am filing a formal vehicle safety complaint regarding two critical defects on my vehicle (VIN: [XXX]) and the refusal of American Honda Motor Co. to address them under Corporate Case #XXX. 1. CRITICAL SAFETY HAZARD (PHANTOM BRAKING): The vehicle's Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) / Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is experiencing severe and dangerous malfunctions. While driving at highway speeds through construction zones with absolutely zero obstacles, vehicles, or pedestrians ahead, the vehicle violently and unpredictably slams on the brakes by itself. This unprovoked emergency braking creates an immediate and extreme risk of a catastrophic rear-end collision on the highway. 2. FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL REPAIR FAILURE (CAMPAIGN ZEM): The vehicle's instrument cluster, infotainment display screen, backup camera, and audio system repeatedly go completely black and reset while driving, disabling all driver visibility of vehicle speed, safety alerts, backup assist, and vital indicators. While NHTSA records indicate that the ZEM Recall Campaign was previously logged as "completed" on this VIN, the defect is fully active. This constitutes an official federal recall repair failure. The original safety hazard remains unresolved. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE & REFUSAL: American Honda Corporate was formally notified of both issues under Case #XXX. Corporate responded by completely ignoring the severe phantom braking defect and refused to authorize a safety diagnostic. Furthermore, they used the administrative status of the closed ZEM recall to deny any responsibility for the ongoing screen, camera, and audio failure. American Honda is actively forcing me to drive a vehicle with a failed safety recall repair and a defective autonomous braking system unless I pay out-of-pocket diagnostic fees to the dealer (Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda). I request an immediate federal investiga INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2019 Honda Pilot had warnings( see pics). I took into Honda for inspection. We were told it was a radar (sensor). After doing some research online, this is a common issue with Honda vehicles. The cost is $2000 to fix. Why is this not a recall issue???

  15. Electrical system, May 18, 2026

Screen speedometer goes blank while driving and crackling speakers. Been to Honda at least 6 times and they can’t fix it. It’s had the recall work done too.

  16. Electrical system, May 12, 2026

Many times the rear tailgate fails to open completely or close completely when the button is pressed. This has caused me to bump my head on the partially opened tailgate. The dealer has replaced the tailgate motor but it has not fixed the problem.

  17. Electrical system, Lane departure, Mar 29, 2026

My car turned the brake light on, the cruise control stopped working, it has the lane departure warning on, the sensor on the windshield apparently is not working.. I can't use the cruise control nor the lane departure assistant and I am concerned that when needed the emergency breaks won't work.. this is a serious issue Honda should remedy.

  18. Electrical system, Feb 24, 2026

Because the front camera has malfunctioned, all electronic warnings are permanently displayed on dash upon start of car, including Engine light and Brake system warnings. Although the camera is the only only thing that has actually failed, the warning systems are no longer available to accurately display all other malfunctions of the car which would prove dangerous should a system failure actually occur, as I would not know the difference. I have had the car in to the dealer several times to make sure the engine is in fact ok, but I cannot afford the $2000 to repair the camera just so the warning lights will go off. It is unsafe that the accuracy of the Honda Pilot's warning systems are impacted. This appears to be an issue specifially with 2019 Honda Pilots as i have found numerous reports online and social media forums with the exact same complaints.

  19. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Feb 15, 2026

The forward facing camera on the windshield is failing and warning lights on the dashboard keep going off making the ADAS system inoperative. This is also draining the battery. I am told that only Honda has the capability to troubleshoot and repair / replace this camera.

  20. Power train, Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Feb 7, 2026

The vehicle experiences a persistent stutter/hesitation while driving, which is especially pronounced during acceleration from a stop or at low to moderate speeds. This condition occurs consistently during normal operation and is not a one-time or intermittent event. The hesitation creates a safety concern when accelerating from intersections, merging into traffic, or maintaining smooth vehicle speed. The vehicle feels as though power delivery is interrupted or unstable during acceleration. Multiple warning lights are present. Dealer diagnostics confirmed permanent communication-related fault codes, including CAN bus communication errors and camera/radar-related safety system failures. These fault codes return after clearing and coincide with the drivability hesitation. During inspection, a transmission fluid service was discussed; however, no transmission-specific fault codes were identified. The drivability hesitation has continued alongside the documented electronic and communication-related faults. The issue has been inspected and documented by a dealership. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred, but the condition remains unresolved and continues to affect drivability and safety-related systems.

All the ADAS systems have stopped working. I get warnings and beeping as I drive my vehicle. Numerous people are telling me that it is the $2,000 front sensing camera that needs to be replaced. This is a huge safety concern and it is plaguing the 3rd generation Honda Pilots.

  22. Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Feb 4, 2026

While driving, multiple safety systems suddenly failed at the same time including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, and Auto High Beam. All warning lights appeared simultaneously. The vehicle became unsafe to drive relying only on manual control. This appears to be related to the front-facing camera or sensor malfunction. Many other Honda Pilot owners have reported the same issue.

  23. Steering, Electrical system, Service brakes, Jan 13, 2026

While driving straight, my 2019 Honda Pilot activates collision “BRAKE” warnings and applies steering wheel torque when there are no vehicles or obstacles present. The system intervenes unexpectedly and repeatedly. The attached documents show that I reported this issue to a Honda dealership and Honda Customer Relations (case #16094868). No diagnosis has been completed yet. This is a safety concern.

  24. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Dec 29, 2025

Honda had issued a recall on the MOST coax cable in 2023 or 2024. As I had issues with mine, and my vehicle was part of the recall, I had it repaired in 2024. For the last 3 months, the issue has started again. When the MOST network fails, the entire infotainment system goes offline. This includes the reverse camera. I have contacted Honda, and they stated they will not correct ongoing issues with the system.

  25. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Back over prevention, Dec 12, 2025

The rear camera display is distorted and shows a huge amount of colors making it impossible to view any objects behind the car and causing a safety hazard that could result in backing over a child or other item
