Engine and engine coolingJun 8, 2023
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 3, 2023. Some owner notification letters were mailed October 31, 2023. Electrical system, wiringMay 17, 2018
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Equipment, electrical, radio/tape deck/cd etc.Jul 23, 2015
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge Viper vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.
Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R40.

LEFT LANE WITH NO SHOULDER BUT WITH A CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION WALL. WE WERE DRIVING WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC (POSTED SPEED LIMIT 65, AND WE DROVE WITH THE SAME TRAFFIC IN OUR LANE WAS TRAVELING AT 67, AND WE WERE APPROX 'AT LEAST' 2 CAR LENGTHS BEHIND THE SILVER MAZDA). TWO CARS AHEAD OF US, I SAW BRAKING TAILLIGHTS, AND I PRESSED ON OUR BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO SEEING THE BRAKING LIGHTS ON THE SECOND CAR THAT WAS IN FRONT US - NOT BECAUSE OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF US - MAZDA HAD NOT ENGAGED THEIR BRAKES AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME).WITHIN SECONDS AFTER I RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE JEEP CONTINUED FORWARD AT A SLIGHTLY SLOWER SPEED, AND IT WAS THEN THE MAZDA CAME TO AN ABRUPT AND COMPLETE STOP, THAT I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE BRAKES (*MEANING THERE WAS NO SUBSTANTIAL DECREASE IN THE FORWARD MOTION I THEN ADDED ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH NO CHANGE NO ENGAGEMENT OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE 11/8/2014. SINCE THEN HERE IS AN ONGOING, HIGH PITCHED NOISE UPON ACCELERATION FROM ZERO TO ANY CRUISING SPEED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERS FOR THIS COMPLAINT AND OTHERS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SAY IT IS DUE TO THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. ONE DEALER TRIED TO BLAME IT ON MY PLASTIC SUNGLASSES IN THE OVERHEAD STORAGE COMPARTMENT. ONE DEALER REPORTED TO ME THAT THE SAME NOISE WAS HEARD ON 2 BRAND NEW VEHICLES JUST DELIVERED TO THEM. I ALSO HAVE ONGOING ELECTRICAL ISSUES - STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS REVERSE SIDES LEFT TO RIGHT, RIGHT TO LEFT FOR AUDIO CONTROLS, THE RADIO RANDOMLY STARTS SWITCHING CHANNELS, AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SENSORS TURNS ON TO ENABLE MODE, BUT IN THIS MODE THE HIGH BEAMS DO NOT DIM. THIS FUNCTION WORKED INITIALLY, THEN IT DIDN'T AND ONE DEALER SAID IT LOST IT'S PROGRAM SO THEY RESET IT. ANOTHER DEALER SAID THE SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. I WILL HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN AT MY NEXT SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE PHONE CALL/PHONE CALL CANCEL BUTTONS ALSO REVERSE FUNCTION. THE FUEL TAKE DOOR RANDOMLY POPS OPEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING, WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED AT MY WORK OR HOME. I HAVE HAD THIS REPAIRED ONCE. IT STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE JEEP WILL RANDOMLY LURCH FORWARD WHILE STOPPED, BRAKES ENGAGED AND VEHICLE IS RUNNING - AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN.

NO ONE AT NHTSA CARES, I HAVE TIED INSTANT MESSAGE AND PHONE... THE RECALL 15V-461 HAS AN INCORRECT WEB ADDRESS, AND EVEN IF YOU DO GET TO THE SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD, IT IS NOT SOMETING THAT THE AVERAGE CONSUMER CAN LOAD. THE UCONNECT WEBSITE REQUIRES YOU TO TURN OFF YOUR SECURITY SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER TO DOWN LOAD, AND THEN THE STEPS FOR UPLADING TO THE VHEICAL ARE INSANE.

PULLING AWAY FROM TRAFFIC LIGHT, TRANSMISSION APPEARED TO BE STUCK IN EITHER FIRST OR SECOND GEAR, AND WOULD NOT SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR. ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE (GOT UP TO 20MPH) RESULTED IN THE ENGINE OVER REVVING AND THE OIL PRESSURE TO EXCEED 90 POUNDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. AFTER TURNING OFF VEHICLE AND LETTING IT SIT FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES, DROVE THE VEHICLE AND EVERYTHING APPEARED NORMAL. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR.

PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER IN 2014 MY JEEP STARTED HAVING HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS WHERE I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY LIGHTS WILL GO OFF. THE DASHBOARD WILL LIGHT UP LIKE THE 4TH OF JULY AND CYCLE THROUGH LIKE I JUST STARTED THE VEHICLE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS NOT TO MENTION FRIGHTENING. SO IMAGINE DRIVING WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS; IMAGINE DRIVING BEHIND OR IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE AND WONDERING WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL LETTER FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH ON SEPTEMBER 3RD 2014 AND THE PART IS STILL UNAVAILABLE!!! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY THESE PARTS ARE NOT BEING BUILT AND REPLACED. WHY BUILD NEW VEHICLES IF THE COMPANY CANNOT BUILD REPLACEMENT PARTS; TAKE CARE OF YOUR CURRENT LOYAL JEEP CUSTOMERS FIRST!

VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO PARK WHILE RUNNING. THE VEHICLE THEN STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS WHILE STILL IN PARK AND THEN COLLIDED INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS 3 OTHER OCCUPANTS PROCEEDED TO EVACUATE THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT COLLIDED WITH THE OTHER PARKED CAR. THE EVACUATION OF THE VEHICLE LEFT THE DOORS OPEN WHICH, WHEN THE VEHICLES COLLIDED, LEFT THE DOORS OF THE ROLLING VEHICLE (THE JEEP) UNABLE TO BE CLOSED.*UPDATED* THE DRIVER LEFT THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A GAS STATION, THE SHIFT INDICATOR SHOWED THE VEHICLE TO BE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLLAWAY, THE TWO CHILDREN AND THE ADULT PASSENGER EVACUATED THE VEHICLE AS THEY THOUGHT IT MIGHT ROLL INTO STREET TRAFFIC AND BE STRUCK. A CHILD WAS INJURED EXITING THE VEHICLE AS THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE, AND THEN CONTINUED ON ROLLING INTO A DITCH. A BYSTANDER JUMPED IN THE VEHICLE TO TRY TO STOP THE ROLLING AND NOTICED THAT THE SHIFT INDICATOR WAS SHOWING THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK.*SMCH....UPDATED 04/25/16 *BF UPDATED 11/01/2017*CN

I TRAVEL FOR A LIVING, OWN AND OPERATE MANY VEHICLES. I RECENTLY RENTED A GRAND CHEROKEE FOR A WEEK OF SALES IN MO. THE COMBINATION OF THE KEYLESS IGNITION AND ELECTRONIC SHIFT ARE VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: TO START, YOU PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE PEDAL AND PUSH THE BUTTON. NO PROBLEM. THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT DOES NOT HAVE INTUITIVE, DETENTE OR POSITIVE GEAR POSITIONS. IT REQUIRES SPECIFIC, COUNTER-INTUITIVE MOVEMENTS THAT MUST BE LEARNED, CAREFULLY EXECUTED AND TEDIOUSLY WATCHED: ON TWO OCCASIONS, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. WRONG! I CAME BACK TO A VEHICLE THAT WAS STILL RUNNING. I ALSO THOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK 3 TIMES WHEN IT WASN'T AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR ONLY TO HAVE IT START MOVING. ONE OF THOSE TIMES THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON. ANOTHER TIME IT ROLLED BACK INTO A PARKING LOT WHILE I WAS VISITING A CUSTOMER. AFTER 2 DAYS I TRAINED MYSELF TO BE EXTRA-EXTRA CAREFUL WHEN SHUTTING OFF AND EXITING THE CAR. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO BE THAT CAREFUL OR GO THROUGH AN UNNATURAL RITUAL TO TURN OFF A VEHICLE. I OWN AND DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, AN AUTOMATIC AND A MOTORCYCLE. I HAVE DRIVEN THROUGHOUT THE US AND EUROPE. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING AS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN A MODERN VEHICLE. ...UPDATED 07/30/15 *BF
Vehicle speed control, Jun 12, 2015
I WAS PULLING MY TRAVEL TRAILER SOUTH ON I65 SOUTH AT 70 MPH AND JUST CROSSED THE ALABAMA STATE LINE AND SAW YELLOW FLASHING LIGHT AND A SIGN TO REDUCE SPEED TO 60 MPH. I WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70 MPH. I PRESSED THE MINUS SHIFT PADDLE TO SLOW DOWN BUT IT DIDN'T SHIFT DOWN LOW ENOUGH TO SLOW ME DOWN. I THEN PUSHED THE PLUS SHIFT PADDLE TO PUT ME BACK INTO CRUISE CONTROL. THE ENGINE THEN OVER REVVED AND SHUT DOWN AND I NO LONGER HAD POWER TO CONTROL FORWARD MOTION. I COASTED TO THE BERM WHILE TRACTOR TRAILERS ZOOMED BY ME. I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO LEAVE THE HIGHWAY RAMP 143 AND THE COME TO A STOP. THE ENGINE PUSH START BUTTON STILL INDICATED RUN. I MADE A RIGHT TURN AS THE ENGINE WAS LIMPING ALONG. I THEN MADE ANOTHER RIGHT TURN ON AIRPORT ROAD AND ENGINE WAS STILL LIMPING. NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO I LIMPED ON TO A DIRT ROAD UNTIL I CAME TO A GRAIN SILO WITH A PARKING AREA IN WHICH I STOPPED. I THEN PUSHED THE START BUTTON WHICH WAS STILL IN RUN AND THE BUTTON INDICATED OFF. I THEN PUSHED THE START BUTTON AND THE ENGINE STARTED AS NORMAL WITH NORMAL POWER AND I CONTINUED BACK ON MY TRIP TO MOBILE ALABAMA WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM AND ALL OWNERS OF MY MODEL OF JEEP SHOULD BE WARNED NOT TO USE THE SHIFT PADDLES WHEN IN CRUISE CONTROL. THE OWNERS MANUAL HAS NO WARNINGS. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEN JEEP CHRYSLER CUSTOMER HOTLINE 1-800-992-1997 AND BOTH TOLD ME IT WAS CAUSED BY "CUSTOMER ERROR". I THINK THIS CONTROL SYSTEM SOFTWARE SHOULD LOCKOUT THE PADDLE SHIFT CAPABILITY WHEN IN CRUISE CONTROL OR IF THE SPEED OF VEHICLE COULD CAUSE OVER REVVING OF THE ENGINE BY DOWN SHIFTING. MAYBE A MECHANICAL MAX RPM SWITCH ON THE ENGINE WOULD BE BETTER THAN COMPUTER SOFTWARE TO LIMIT ENGINE REVS. THIS PERHAPS WOULD ELIMINATE THE POTENTIAL FOR DANGER WHEN THE VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE AS IT DID FOR ME.

STARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT PARKSENSE AND FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WERE NOT WORKING AND EVERY FEW MINUTES, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WOULD BEEP AND OFTEN DISPLAY AN ERROR MESSAGE. THE MESSAGES IT DISPLAYED WERE, "SERVICE SHIFTER" (DISPLAYED MOST OFTEN), "PARK SENSE OFF" (IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON AND OFF) AND "ACC/FCW NOT WORKING SERVICE REQUIRED" (DISPLAYED A FEW TIMES). ALSO, THE SCREEN (INSTRUMENT PANEL) WOULD FLICKER A FEW TIMES AND BEEP.THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SENSOR DID NOT WORK, REGULAR CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AND PARKING SENSORS DID NOT WORK. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT APPEARS THAT THE ACC BALL (RADAR/CAMERA/THE THING THAT LOOKS LIKE THE EYE BALL ON THE FRONT BUMPER) HAD CORROSION AND ALL WIRES WERE SHOT. THEY ORDERED A NEW PIECE WITH HARNESS AND WILL REPLACE IT. HOWEVER, IT IS MY CONCERN THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE WATER CAN EASILY GET INTO THE HARNESS (RAIN/SNOW/CAR WASH). IT SHOULD BE STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT WHAT IS THE SOLUTION AFTER THE WARRANTY IS OVER? IT LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED EVERY 16,000 MILES (APPROX.)

I OWN A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND. I WAS INFORMED OF THE NHTSA RESEARCH INTO THE 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND THE PROBLEMS INDIVIDUALS WERE HAVING WITH THE COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM AND THE AUTOMATIC BREAKING. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM TWO TIMES. THERE WAS NO VEHICLE OR OBSTACLE CLOSE TO ME AND THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM INITIATED THE AUTMOATIC BREAKING SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, THANKFULLY. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT, I DISABLED THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM DUE TO MY FEAR THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ALERTED TO YOUR INVESTIGATION INTO THE 2014 MODEL BUT WANTED TO BRING IT TO YOUR ATTENTION REGARDING MY 2015 MODEL. REFERENCE: THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION (ODI) HAS RECEIVED NINE COMPLAINTS ALLEGING INAPPROPRIATE ACTIVATIONS OF THE AUTONOMOUS BRAKING SYSTEM IN MODEL YEAR (MY) 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES. ALL NINE REPORTS ALLEGED UNEXPECTED BRAKING INCIDENTS PRECEDED BY COLLISION IMMINENT BRAKE WARNINGS AND RESULTING IN SUDDEN REDUCTION IN VEHICLE SPEED IN TRAFFIC. TWO COMPLAINTS REPORTED AUTONOMOUS BRAKING INCIDENTS WITH NO OBJECTS ON THE ROAD RESULTING IN RAPID INCREASE IN BRAKE FORCE AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) ACTIVATIONS. THE COMPLAINTS ALLEGED EXPERIENCING MULTIPLE EVENTS AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS AND ROAD CONDITIONS. A PRELIMINARY EVALUATION HAS BEEN OPENED TO ASSESS THE FREQUENCY, SCOPE AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE ALLEGED DEFECT. THE FOLLOWING VOQ NUMBERS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ISSUES DISCUSSED IN THIS RESUME: 10543837, 10713629, 10690650, 10663320, 10630362, 10596913, 10533622, 10533524, 10651269.

IT WOULD APPEAR LARGE OBJECTS SUCH AS A JERSEY BARRIER (COMMON IN WA) THE LEFT AND LARGE SLOWING TRAFFIC (A POTENTIAL DANGER) TO THE RIGHT WILL TRIGGER THE INAPPROPRIATE ACTION AND RESULTS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO VEHICLES BEHIND! THE SITUATION THAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM IS NOT EASY TO REPRODUCE, HENCE ITS SURPRISE!

I TOOK MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE IN FOR A RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE TO PROTECT DURABILITY OF THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. DRIVING HOME THE VEHICLE WAS AT 5500 RPMS AT 50 MPH. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION CODE AND AS THEY HAD NO TRANSMISSION TECH I'D HAVE TO GET IT TO A JEEP DEALER 30 MILES AWAY. THE SERVICING DEALERSHIP PUT THIS ON ME TO DO. THEY DID NOT MENTION ANY SAFETY RISK OF DRIVING ITS THERE UNTIL I EXPRESSED CONCERN. THEY THEN HAD ME TAKE IT HOME AND CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. A MONTH LATER IT IS 35 MILES AWAY SITTING AT A JEEP DEALER WAITING FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAS 3600 MILES ON IT. COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN POOR. I'VE REQUESTED TWICE DIRECT E MAIL COMMUNICATION WITH MY CASE MANAGER TO TRACK EXCHANGES BUT HAVE BEEN IGNORED BEYOND PHONE COMMUNICATION.

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUMMIT IN NOV OF 2014 AND RANDOMLY ITS RADIO WILL STATE THAT IS HAS AN "IP ADDRESS CONFLICT" WHEN THIS OCCURS WHATEVER SETTING THE RADIO WAS ON CANNOT BE CHANGED. THIS ISSUE CAUSES THE HEATER TO BECOME UNRESPONSIVE, IF THE HEATED SEATS ARE TURNED ON THEY CANNOT BE TURNED OFF, AND GENERAL UNRESPONSIVENESS OF ALL SYSTEMS CONTROLLED BY THE RADIO. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE PROBLEM REMAINS FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES UNTIL THE RADIO DECIDES TO RESET ITSELF. THIS ISSUE COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IN COLDER CLIMATES WHEN THE HEATER IS A NECESSITY BUT CANNOT BE OPERATED, ALSO THE DISCOMFORT FROM THE HEATED SEATS WHEN THEY CANT BE TURNED OFF MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I HAVE NOTIFIED CHRYSLER OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS COMPLAINT BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT UNTIL JEEP DECIDES TO PUT OUT A FIX FOR THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW AND NO FIX FROM JEEP IS IN SIGHT. I HAVE VIDEOD THE ISSUE WITH MY CELL PHONE AND TRIED TO SEND THE VIDEO TO CHRYSLER. TO WHICH THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THEY HAVE NO WAY TO RECEIVE THE VIDEO FROM ME THEREFORE I AM LEFT WITH THE SAME ISSUE OF, IF THEY CANT VERIFY THE PROBLEM THEN IT DOESN'T EXIST EVEN THOUGH I OFFERED VIDEO PROOF. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WERE BOTH REPLACED. IN ADDITION, AN UNKNOWN WIRING REPAIR RELATED TO THE FAILURE WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 798.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE DROPS BELOW 3/4 FULL AND THEN SHUTS OFF WHEN THE FULL GAUGE READS 1/4 FULL. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON IT DISABLES THE REMOTE START FUNCTION WHICH IS SORELY MISSED IN NEW ENGLAND WINTERS. THIS HAVE HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES THIS WINTER IF NOT MORE AND THE DEALER COULD NOT HELP. *TR

WHEN MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT ALL THE UP FROM DRIVE TO PARK THE CAR IS NOT ALWAYS IN PARK BUT REVERSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE CAR WILL BEGIN MOVING BACKWARD WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE COMPUTER IS NOT QUICK ENOUGH TO RECOGNIZE THE MOVEMENT OF THE SHIFTER. VERY DANGEROUS BUT NOW I AM AWARE OF IT. *TR

THIRD TIME OF INCIDENT. WHILE PARALLEL PARKING, AND SHIFTING FROM REVERSE INTO DRIVE, WHILE FOOT IS STILL ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE REVS AND LURCHES FORWARD. 1ST 2 TIMES INVOLVED PARKING ON SNOW/ICE. TODAY, WITH A DRY STREET AND SNEAKERS, VEHICLE BEGAN TO REV. I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO PARK TO AVOID LURCHING FORWARD BUT FAILED TO DO SO IN TIME. WHEN VEHICLE REVS, I HOLD ONTO STEERING WHEEL AND PRESS BRAKE WITH ALL MY STRENGTH BUT UNABLE TO PREVENT THE FORWARD MOVEMENT. *TR
