Recalls and investigations

  1. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchMay 28, 2020

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2018 Nissan Altima vehicles. If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released, there is an increased likelihood that the secondary hood latch may corrode over time.

Corrosion to the secondary latch may cause it to bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed. If the primary latch is inadvertently released again and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a stronger release spring in the hood release lever, a warning label near the secondary hood latch, and an Owner’s Manual addendum card with instructions on how to lubricate and maintain the secondary hood latch mechanism, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 30, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: Recall 16V-029 remains open for any unremedied 2013-2015 Altimas and this recall applies to all vehicles covered by 16V-029 even if those repairs have already been performed.

  2. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationDec 19, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima vehicles manufactured January 3, 2013, to July 29, 2013, 2015-2016 Rogue vehicles manufactured October 14, 2014, to August 12, 2016, and 2016 Maxima vehicles manufactured June 4, 2015, to August 19, 2015. An incorrect Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may have been installed in the front passenger seat. The incorrect ECU and seat combination may misclassify the front passenger seat occupant.

If the front passenger seat occupant is misclassified, the air bag may deploy incorrectly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU and update the OCS software free of charge. The recall began February 13, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  3. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationApr 26, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

  4. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchJan 22, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 6, 2012, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

These vehicles were previously included in recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116, however the previous remedy plan may not have been performed consistently to remove the safety risk. To correct this issue, Nissan will re-notify all affected owners and dealers will replace the hood latch with a new one, free of charge. The recall began on February 17, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall supersedes recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116.

  5. Air bags, frontalOct 20, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.

If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on November 30, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

  6. Fuel system, gasolineAug 4, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) notified the agency on July 31, 2015, that they are recalling certain model year 2016 Nissan Maxima vehicles manufactured February 10, 2015, to August 18, 2015. On October 14, 2015, Nissan expanded the recall to cover an additional 41,388 vehicles, including certain model year 2013-2015 Altima 3.5 vehicles equipped with a V6 engine manufactured March 30, 2012, to August 18, 2015 as well as the vehicles covered by the July 31, 2015 notification. In the affected vehicles, due to an improperly installed o-ring that may not have been seated correctly at the time of assembly, fuel may leak during a crash from the area where the fuel sending unit attaches to the fuel tank.

If fuel leaks from between the fuel sending unit and the tank, it may increase the risk of a fire in the event of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer ring between the fuel tank and the fuel sending unit. The recall began on September 28, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  7. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchFeb 27, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 1, 2013, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will be instructed to modify the bend angle of the hood actuation lever to eliminate potential interference with the hood inner panel. In addition, dealers will clean and lubricate the latch joint as needed. If significant corrosion is observed, the latch assembly will be replaced. This repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began March 31, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 14V-565.

Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Altima, LEAF, Pathfinder, Sentra, and Infiniti JX35 vehicles. Sensors within the passenger Occupant Detection System (ODS) may have been manufactured out of specification. This may cause the system to malfunction and permanently suppress the passenger airbag.

If the vehicle is involved in a crash necessitating airbag deployment and the passenger airbag is suppressed, there may be an increased risk of personal injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ODS sensors and replace them as neccessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

CAR STARTED TO SPUDDER LIKE IT WASNT GETTING GAS AFTER DRIVING FOR 15 MINS ON THE HIGHWAY I WAS AT A LIGHT WAITING TO TURN MY CAR STALLED OUT I NEEDED TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK TO RESTART IT. ONCE THE CAR WAS RESTARTED I DROVE HOME ONCE HOME I WANTED TO CHECK MY CAR TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG SO FROM PARK I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND IT AGAIN STALLED OUT THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE NEXT DAY WHILE LEAVING I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WOULD MOVE VERY SLOW TRYING TO GET UP TO SPEED YOU WOULD NEED TO PRESS HARD ON GAS TO MOVE THEN RPMS ACTING ALL WEIRD. WHEN TURNING AT A CITY LIGHT AND YOU ACCELERATED THE CARS TIRES WOULD SQUEAL AND THE CAR WOULD JERK. THIS CAR STALLS ALOT IM WORRIED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING IN MOVING TRAFFIC. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT AND IM BEING TOLD THIS IS THE CAUSE OF A FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS. THIS CAR IS STILL IN A NISSIAN SHOP.

  2. Power train, Oct 26, 2017

TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED ABRUPTLY IN NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 AT 79K MILES ALMOST ENDING IN A COLLISION IN MID INTERSECTION. NISSAN SAYS IT'S PAST WARRANTY AND WILL NOT REPLACE. I'M ON THE HOOK FOR $3800 FOR A FAULTY TRANSMISSION THAT COULD'VE CAUSED A DEADLY ACCIDENT. MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. EVEN THOUGH OTHER YEARS HAVE HAD WARRANTIES EXTENDED BC OF THE FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION, MINE IS NOT INCLUDED. THEY SAID I COULD NOT APPEAL THE DECISION. AFTER TALKING TO THEIR CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIVISION, I WAS TOLD THAT BC I DIDN'T HAVE MY CAR SERVICED AT NISSAN, I AM BASICALLY NOT A LOYAL CUSTOMER. THIS IS MY 4TH NISSAN. OBVIOUSLY, I'VE BEEN LOYAL. I CHOSE TO HAVE REGULAR OIL CHANGES, TIRE ROTATIONS, ETC DONE SOMEWHERE CLOSER AS THE DEALERSHIP WAS DIFFICULT TO GET TO ALL THESE YEARS. I FIND THEIR NONCHALANCE IN DEALING W/THEIR HORRIBLE TRANSMISSION TO BE INFURIATING AND I WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS. THANK YOU. UPDATED 12/8/2017*JS

PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS LIT WHEN A ADULT IS SITTING IN SEAT. THERE IS A RECALL FOR SOMETHING SIMILAR, BUT WE WERE TOLD OUR CAR IS NOT UNDER THAT RECALL. MY WORRY IS IF WE HAVE A ACCIDENT WILL THAT FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOY.

DRIVERS ELECTRONIC DOOR UNLOCK/LOCK SWITCH HAS DISCONNECTED FROM THE DOOR LOCK ABILITY, UNABLE TO SAFELY EXIT VEHICLE WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW TO UNLOCK MANUALLY FROM OUTSIDE HE CAR. MAKES IT UNSAFE TO EXIT IN CASE OF AN EMERGANCY

  5. Air bags, Oct 21, 2017

I TOOK MY CAR TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WAS STAYING ON THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT AND FOUND OUT IT WAS THE AIR BAG UNIT THAT WAS THE PROBLEM THEY SAID IF I HAD SOMEONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT IN THE FRONT THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS FOR THE NISSAN ALTIMA IN 2016 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN I TALKED TO SOMEONE THEY SAID IT WAS NOT MY VIN NUMBER ALL I KNOW IS THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THIS FIX WHEN I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE

  6. Exterior lighting, Oct 19, 2017

THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFE NIGHT TIME DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (SEE ATTACHED). I THEN CONTACTED THE NISSAN CORPORATION WHO STATED THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD BOUGHT IT IN DURING THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE LIGHTS ARE NOT COVERED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY DID OFFER TO PAY FOR 1/3RD OF THE $1000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO PAY SOME SO THE COST WOULD BE $500. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS AND WHO'S TO SAY THAT THE REPLACEMENT WON'T DO THE SAME THING? THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE LIGHTS MELTING SOME INTERNAL FILM - THE LIGHT BEAM THEN HITS THE FILM & REFRACTS AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. REPLACING THE ACTUAL HEADLIGHT DOES NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. (MY SISTER HAS THE SAME MAKE & MODEL AND HAS TRIED THIS). RECENTLY, I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN WALKING ACROSS A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I LIVE ONE MILE DOWN A COMPLETELY DARK ROAD. DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS IS FINE, BUT DANGEROUS WHEN THERE IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN I TURN THEM OFF I HAVE TO DROP MY SPEED TO 15 MILES BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY SEE. THIS IS ALSO DANGEROUS. I FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THE LIGHTS ON THESE CARS BECAUSE 1. PEOPLE LIVING IN 'THE CITY' MIGHT BE UNAWARE 2.DOING DUE DILIGENCE TO HAVE A SAFE CARE I.E. REPLACING A BURNT OUT BULB DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND 3. PAYING $1000 TO MAKE A CAR SAFE IS OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON.

  7. Structure, Oct 18, 2017

I CANNOT OPEN MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR USING THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE. I PULL ON THE HANDLE & IT MOVES BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. THE ONLY WAY I CAN EXIT THE VEHICLE IS TO DOWN THE WINDOW AND PULL THE OUTSIDE HANDLE (HURTS THE ARTHRITIS IN MY SHOULDER) OR CRAWL OVER THE MIDDLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THIS SITUATION IS DEFINITELY NOT A SAFE SITUATION IF QUICK EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE IS NEEDED IN AN EMERGENCY. WHAT WOULD A PERSON WITH DISABILITIES OR SENIOR DO? FROM WHAT I'VE READ ONLINE THE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY INSIDE THE DOOR WAS POORLY MADE USING A PLASTIC PART THAT WEARS OUT QUICKLY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND ACROSS SEVERAL NISSAN MODELS ACCORDING TO A DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR. THE DEALER, CHARLESTON NISSAN, WANTS $180, PARTS AND LABOR, TO REPLACE. I CALLED 1-800-NISSAN1 ON 10/18/2017 TO SEE IF THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND AND COVER A DEFECTIVE PART BUT THEY SHOWED NO INTEREST AT ALL AND DECLINED.

  8. Vehicle speed control, Electronic stability control (ESC), Fuel/propulsion system, Oct 18, 2017

REPORTED TO SHEEHY NISSAN MECHANICSVILLE VA FOUTR TIMES. THE VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATES WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED (STABILITY LIGHT ACTIVATES). THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THE ACCELERATOR TOUCHES THE FLOOR WHILE TRAVELING 45-60 MPH LOSS OF PRESSURE. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT TO ACTIVATE IN ORDER TO USE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY GOLD PLAN. I WAS CHARGE $93 FOR A SCAN OF THE COMPUTER, THEN IT WAS PURGED. THE FOB SYSTEM IS NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEYS AND I WAS CHARGED FOR CHECKING AND REPROGRAMMING KEYS. FOB KEYS STILL LOSE THE PROGRAMS WHILE DRIVING.

BONDY'S NISSAN IN DOTHAN, ALABAMA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE VALVE BODY ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR TSB FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED ITEM NUMBER: 10109248 AND NTB15-0878 AS POSSIBLE CAUSES RELATED TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

  11. Power train, Oct 12, 2017

I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN IT SPUTTERED AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY CITY STREET,. LUCKILY A POLICEMAN WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME AND WAS ABLE TO DIVERT TRAFFIC AWAY FROM MY CAR. I TOWED THE CAR TO A NEARBY MECHANIC SHOP WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY (BECAUSE IT WAS DEAD) AND ADVISED ME THAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DROVE THE CAR BUT THE RPMS WERE GOING UP AND DOWN AND PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT CAUSE THE CAR TO MOVE ANY FASTER, AND THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE IN A TIMELY MANNER WHEN I PUT THE CAR ON "DRIVE". I SCHEDULED A TIME WITH THE DEALER TO INSPECT THE CAR IN TWO DAYS. THAT DAY IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO GET THE CAR STARTED AND MOVING AND IT BROKE DOWN AS I ENTERED THE DEALER'S SERVICE LOT. THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR $3700, SINCE IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. I TOLD THEM THAT I SEARCHED THE NISSAN WEBSITE THE NIGHT BEFORE AND THERE WAS A RECALL BY NISSAN OF THIS CAR IN DECEMBER 2016 BECAUSE THE CVT CONTROLLER HAD TO BE RE-PROGRAMMED, OTHERWISE IT WILL CAUSE EXCESSIVE WEAR AND DAMAGE TO THE CVT. THEY CLAIMED THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR THE REPROGRAMMING AND BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OVER THE WARRANTY, NOTHING WILL BE DONE FOR FREE. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I ALMOST GOT HIT BY TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR STALLED, THAT THEIR RECALL MENTIONED THE POSSIBLE DAMAGE, AND THAT I BECAME AWARE OF IT AFTER THE INCIDENT, BUT THAT DID NOT HELP AND ADVISED ME TO CALL NISSAN, BUT HE WOULDT. I BELIEVE THIS DEFECT WITH THE CVT PROGRAM IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. THE CAR GAVE NO WARNING SIGNS OR ALARMS OF THE PROBLEM AND IT HAPPENED SUDDENLY. THE CVT FAILURE BEING INDIRECTLY CAUSE BY THE DEFECTIVE PROGRAMING SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY A FEDERALLY MANDATED RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. ALSO NISSAN NEVER MADE OWNERS AWARE OF THIS RECALL.

  14. Steering, Vehicle speed control, Other or unspecified, Oct 4, 2017

AFTER LEASING THE CAR FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS, THE CAR DEVELOPED AN ISSUE AT 83,000 MILE MARK. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT FROM STANDSTILL THE CAR STALLS. I WOULD PRESS DOWN THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE OR ACCELERATE UNTIL 6 SECONDS OR SO LATER. SOMETIMES THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL UNTIL I MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH. FROM THIS I CAN INFER IT HAS TO DO WITH THE POWER STEERING OR SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED HALFWAY OR MORE AT A STOP. KINDA LIKE A POWER OUTAGE AT THAT SINCE ALL THE LIGHTS DIM AND SOMETIMES EVEN THE HVAC FAN SPEED GOES DOWN WHILE WHILE THE CAR IS UNABLE TO MOVE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHILE THERE WAS A PAUSE IN OPPOSITE TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST ROLLED A LITTLE AND STOPPED SINCE I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING UNTIL I STRAIGHTENED THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER MY CAR ROLLED OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC I COULD OF EASILY GOTTEN IN A CRASH IF THE ONCOMING CARS DIDN'T SLOW DOWN FOR ME. THIS HAPPENS PRETTY RANDOMLY BUT ONLY WHEN TRYING TO TURN FROM A STOP. I CAN'T ANY LONGER TRUST THE CAR AS ITS PRETTY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO MERGE WITH FAST MOVING TRAFFIC.

  18. Power train, Sep 22, 2017

MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA, WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. IN 9/2014 AT 42K MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. NOW IN 9/2017 I AM BEING TOLD BY NISSAN THAT THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS REPLACED BY THEM IN 2014 IS ALSO BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST TO ME OF $4,100.00. WHO CAN AFFORD A $4,100 REPAIR ON A VEHICLE THAT IS STILL BEING PAID FOR MONTHLY, AND WHY IS IT THE CONSUMER'S FAULT THAT NISSAN NA IS MAKING AND SELLING FAULTY, UNSAFE PRODUCTS? NISSAN NA KNOWS OF THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THESE CVT TRANSMISSIONS, BUT CHOSES TO NOTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUES. MY VEHICLE WILL NOT PULL AND MAKES A WHINING NOISE WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IT THE SAME ISSUE THAT OCCURRED IN 2014. WHILE I WAS IN MOTION ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER, SPUDDER AND JERK, AND DROPPED DOWN TO ABOUT 10-15 MPH. IT WAS A HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN START TO LOSE SPEED. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY. THESE VEHICLES ARE UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. I AM IN TOTAL DISBELIEF THAT NONE OF THE AGENCIES CHARGED WITH THE PROTECTION OF CONSUMERS SAFETY AND ETHICAL TREATMENT , WILL OR HAS GOTTEN INVOLVED TO FORCE NISSAN TO STOP ENDANGERING THE WELL BEING OF THOSE OF US WHO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES. I AM A LOYAL NISSAN OWNER, WHO HAS OWNED 2 OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES. IN FACT, I CURRENTLY OWN A 1995 NISSAN MAXIMA THAT HAS NEVER HAD A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. HOW CAN A 22 YEAR OLD CAR STILL DRIVE PERFECTLY AND A 2013 NEED 2 TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENTS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HOLD NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND TREATMENT OF CONSUMERS, AS WELL AS THEIR BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF THOSE OF US WHO DRIVE AND TRANSPORT PASSENGERS IN THEIR VEHICLES EVERYDAY.

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 4 YEARS. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT IT HAS HAD SOME SORT OF STUTTERING, HESITATION FROM WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. SPEED, CRUISE, UPHILL DOWNHILL MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT 4-5 TIMES WITH NISSAN'S NOTHINGS EVER FINDING A THING WRONG. NOW, AFTER CONTINUED WORSENING IT FINALLY WENT OUT. WILL RUN IN EVER GEAR AT 10-15 MPH. I GUESS I PROVED MY POINT, BUT LOST THE CAR. NOW I STILL HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK TO THESE KNOW NOTHING SHADE TREE MECHANICS!
