Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

Power train, automatic transmission, lever and linkage, column shiftDec 20, 2017
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 vehicles. Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.
If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ORC software, free of charge. The recall began June 26, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T25.

WHILE MERGING INTO THE LEFT LANE ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY, MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND JERKED MY TRUCK FURTHER LEFT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO CORRECT IT AND BARELY AVOIDED AN HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT'S THE EPA POWER CONTROL CIRCUIT BOARD OR THE ESP GEAR BOX. DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THIS DEFAULT IN THE POWER STEERING. THE TRUCK IS ONLY ONE YEAR OLD. HOW COULD SOMETHING THIS CRITICAL TO SAFETY SIMPLY GO OUT ALREADY. SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP US CONSUMERS, FOR THE SAKE OF ALL OUR SAFETY. ALSO I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, MERGING LEFT, I WAS JERKED PROBABLY 10 TO 15 FT, ENOUGH THAT I WAS PUT INTO THE OTHER LANE. IT HAS CONTINUED TO DO THIS RANDOMLY CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CRASH SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE NOW PARKED THE TRUCK UNTIL FURTHER INVESTIGATION FROM MY MECHANIC OR DODGE DEALERSHIP. IT'LL HAVE TO BE TOWED FOR FEAR OF ME CRASHING.

ON 5 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THIS TRUCK HAS GONE INTO WHAT THE DEALERSHIP IS REFERRING TO AS LIMP MODE. NO MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE TRAVELING THE TRUCK INVOLUNTARILY DOWN SHIFTS INTO A SPEED AVERAGING 20 MILES PER HOUR WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY DOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES AN HOUR. THE OTHER THREE TIMES THE SPEED WENT FROM 30-45 MILES PER HOUR DOWN TO 25 MILES PER HOUR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS UP INDICATING AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT PROBLEM. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE PURCHASED IT FROM. THE FIRST TIME A PCM UPDATE FOR THE VOLTAGE CODE 18-19-04-EH WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE DEFECT, JUST A FEW DAYS LATER, ON MARCH 10, 2016 THE VEHICLE SUFFERED THE SAME DEFECT WHICH CREATED A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS SITUATION SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED ON A MAJOR ROADWAY. AGAIN, FREEDOM CHRYSLER LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE BOOST SENSOR (68211211AA SENSOR-INTAKE MANIFOLD) AGAIN 1 DAY AFTER THIS WAS RETURNED TO US IT WENT BACK INTO LIMP MODE. THIS TIME (3-21-16) THE INCIDENTS WERE REPORTED TO CHRYSLER AT 800-423-6343 AND WE WERE GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND A CASE REPRESENTATIVE. THE CASE MANAGER OFFERED AT THIS TIME TO REIMBURSE US 1 MONTHS PAYMENT DUE TO THE LOSE USE OF THE VEHICLE. WE DECLINED PAYMENT UNTIL WE KNEW THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED PROPERLY AND THAT NO OTHER ISSUES WOULD ARISE. THE FOURTH TIME THE TRUCK WENT INTO THIS MODE ALL OF THE INJECTORS WERE REPLACED. 1 DAY LATER THERE WAS A VERY LOAD NOISE COMING FROM THE TRUCK SO IT WAS RETURNED YET AGAIN. THIS TIME FREEDOM CHRYSLER SAID WE HAD RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE INJECTOR AND THEY CHANGED ONE OF THE NEW INJECTORS OUT FOR ANOTHER ONE. WE ARE NOT WILLING TO RISK OURS/OTHERS LIVES BY DRIVING THIS TRUCK. WE HAVE ASKED FREEDOM CHRYSLER AND CHRYSLER MOTORS TO REPLACE THIS VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL.

I ENTERED MY DODGE RAM WITH ONLY 5000 MILES ON IT AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO START IT AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND STILL HAD NO BRAKES. I RETRIED THIS NUMEROUS TIMES WITH SAME RESULT. I PUT IT IN GEAR AND WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND HAD NO BRAKES. I BACKED UP AND STILL HAD NO BRAKES. FINALLY AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH AND APPROACHED A STOP SIGN AND HAD NO BRAKES AGAIN. THE PETAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND IT FELT LIKE THE ABS MAY HAVE BEEN SLOWING THE VEHICLE. IF THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR IF I HADN'T STARTED BRAKING WAY EARLY I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. AFTER THAT I FINISHED MY DRIVE TO WORK WITHOUT FURTHER ISSUES. I CALLED THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM HIM YET.

DIESEL EMISSIONS: DOZENS OF TIMES IN THE 7 MONTHS SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE: WHEN DRIVING AT MEDIUM TO SLOW TRAFFIC SPEEDS OR PARKING LOT SPEEDS (5MPH - 20MPH), OR WHEN SITTING STOPPED, IF THE CLIMATE CONTROL FAN IS ON - IT BLOWS HEAVY DIESEL EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE CABIN. THESE FUMES ARE ONLY COMING IN THROUGH THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. WHEN THE WINDOWS ARE OPEN WE DO NOT GET FUMES, THERE ARE NO HEAVY FUMES AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE ONLY GET DIESEL FUMES BEING BLOWN IN VIA CLIMATE CONTROL. IF WE TURN OFF CLIMATE CONTROL, THE FUMES STOP. THEY ARE STRONG ENOUGH AT TIMES TO CAUSE EYES TO TEAR UP. THEY HAVE HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE IN EMPTY REMOTE PARKING LOTS - SO NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. THEY HAVE HAPPENED WITH HEAT / OR COOL SYSTEM ON. WE DO NOT GET NOTICEABLE FUMES IN THE CABIN WHEN TRAVELING AT FASTER/HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, HOWEVER THIS COMPLAINT FORM ONLY ALLOWS PICKING ONE DATE.

TRUCK IS 1 YEAR OLD WITH 26,000 MILES. ROTORS NEED MACHINING OR REPLACING. WAS TOLD THAT DAILY COMMUTING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC HAS CAUSED THE ROTORS TO OVERHEAT AND BECOME PITTED CAUSING THE BRAKES TO NOW SQUEAK WHEN APPLIED AT LOW SPEEDS. NO TOWING INVOLVED. TRUCK IS USED AS A DAILY COMMUTER. MOSTLY HIGHWAY TRAVELLING, BUT RUSH HOUR IS STOP AND GO FOR A GOOD 10 MILES EACH WAY. 3 DIFFERENT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS HAVE INFORMED ME THIS IS PRETTY COMMON DUE TO THE NICKEL COMPONENT IN THE ROTORS. THEY ARE RECOMMENDING REPLACING THEM OR MACHINING THEM AT A COST OF $250 PLUS NEW PADS EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT NEED REPLACING. ROTORS WERE ONLY WARRANTED FOR 1 YEAR OR 12,000 MILES.

TWO ACCIDENTS AND WAS DENIED RECALL - EVEN THOUGH MY 2015 DODGE RAM 1500 STEERING COMPONENT HAS BEEN DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ACCIDENT #1 FEBRUARY 16, 2016 BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION WELL. CAR DID NOT BRAKE WELL IN THE RAIN, WAS COMING TO A RED LIGHT WITH A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, HAD TO PUSH ON THE BRAKES AND THEY WERE NOT BRAKING. DODGE RAM 1500 SKID AND HIT THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT. ACCIDENT #2 MARCH 12, 2016 LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND IT WAS RAINING. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STARTED A SLOW LEFT TURN WHEN: (1) THE DODGE RAM LOST TRACTION, (2) DODGE RAM OVER STEERED TO THE LEFT FROM THE STEERING INPUT SUDDENLY LOSING POWER, AND (3) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND (4) MY BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED TO COUNTER STEER TO MOVE THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE TO THE STREET BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. THE TRUCK THEN SKID, WENT OVER THE CURB AND HIT A LIGHT POST THAT FELL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DODGE RAM AND DAMAGED THE CAR HEAVILY. IF IT HAD FALLEN ON THE ROOF MY PASSENGERS AND I WOULD BE DEAD. POLICE REPORT AND FOUR WITNESSES. ELEVEN DAYS AFTER THE SECOND ACCIDENT, A RECALL FOR DODGE RAM 1500 MODEL YEARS 2015-2016 CAME OUT FOR STEERING. THE RECALL IS FOR THE IDENTICAL MALFUNCTIONING STEERING COMPONENT THAT CAUSED MY SECOND ACCIDENT. CALLED MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN # IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, WHICH MEANS FOR THEM THAT MY CAR WAS MADE AT A DIFFERENT FACILITY FROM THE RECALLS AND IS NOT OF CONCERN FOR THEM. DESPITE THAT MY 2015 DODGE RAM 1500 IS THE MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR OF THE RECALL AND DESPITE THE FACT THAT I TOLD THEM I HAD JUST HAD THAT EXACT STEERING MALFUNCTION, I WAS DENIED THE RECALL.

ON 2-24-16, AN ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE HAPPENED DURING WHICH THE DRIVER HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PER THE POLICE REPORT, VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING SPACE FACING SOUTHWEST. UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE BACKED UP FROM ITS PARKING POSITION IN THE NORTHEAST DIRECTION COLLIDING WITH A BUILDING COLUMN. THE REAR BUMPER OF THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH A BLOCK COLUMN CAUSING CEMENT BLOCKS TO BE KNOCKED OUT OF POSITION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES ON THE SCENE. DRIVER LEFT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION TO THE VEHICLE, EXITED THE VEHICLE AND LCOKED IT WITH THE KEYS IN HIS POCKET. HE THEN ENTERED A STORE.AND APPROX. 15 MINUTES LATER, SECURITY LOCATED HIM AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BACKED INTO THEIR BUILDING JUMPING A CURB AND ACCELERATING. DRIVER ADVISED THAT HE HAD THE KEY FOB IN HIS POCKET TEH WHOLE TIME. HE STATED THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE CRANKED AND WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF IF HE WAS A CERTAIN DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. HE ADVISED HE DID NOT KNOW HOW THE VEHICLE CRANKED, TRAVELED IN REVERSE AND THEN COLLIDED WITH THE BUILDING. HE ADVISED THAT SOMEONE TOLD HIM THE VEHICLE'S REVERSE LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED WHEN THEY OBSERVED THE CRASH. SECURITY VIDEO WAS OBTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. LATER HE LEARNED THAT THERE HAD BEEN SIMILAR INCIDENTS FOR SIMILAR VEHICLES AND CONTACTED CHRYSLER. ON MARCH 17, 2016 OWNER OF THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (FCA US LLC) STATING THAT THE COMPANY DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT IT WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY. HOWEVER, UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, INFORMATION SHOWS THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. ON AUGUST 14, 2015 CHRYSELR ISSUED A RECALL FOR RADIO SOFTWARE SECURITY VULNERABILITES. OWNER DOES NOT KNOW IF THE DEALERSHIP HAD SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR THE ISSUE.

12/2015 I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND WENT TO TURN INTO A BANK ATM AND COULDN'T SLOW OR STOP MY TRUCK FOR THE TURN. THE BRAKES WENT ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I STARTED PUMPING THEM AND WAS FINALLY ABLE TO SLOW AND STOP THE TRUCK. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER AND I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM. THEY ALSO COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES BEING SOFT. 5/4/2016 I AGAIN HAD ISSUES. I GOT INTO THE TRUCK; STARTED IT UP WENT TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUT THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE AND THE BRAKES WERE SOFT. I HAD TO PUMP THEM BRAKES A FEW TIMES BEFORE I COULD PUT IT IN DRIVE. I LOVE MY DODGE TRUCKS; BUT THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

NOTICED DURING MY FIRST OIL CHANGE AT APPROX 1580MILES THAT BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUB BEARINGS WERE LEAKING GREASE. I DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT AT THE TIME, CLEANING IT. AFTER APPROX 6000 MILES OR SO, I CHECKED THE FRONT TWO HUB WHEEL BEARINGS AND AGAIN THERE WAS SEEPAGE OF BEARING GREASE COMING OUT OF THE WHEEL HUB SEAL. CLEANED IT AGAIN. I LAST CHECKED AT APPROX 12000 MILES AND THERE WAS LITTLE RESIDUE STILL EMITTING FROM BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUB BEARINGS. I CHECKED FOR WHEEL PLAY BY RAISING FRONT OFF THE GROUND AND HOLD 9.15 AND 12.30 POSTITIONS BUT NO PLAY WAS NOTED. CONCERNED THAT BOTH WHEEL HUB BEARINGS WERE DEFECTIVE FROM NEW SINCE THEY LEAKED FROM NEW. I AM ASSUMING THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE PLAY AND WOBBLE ONCE THE FRONT HUBS FAIL, THEN EVENTUALLY FRONT WHEELS FALLING OFF.

WAS ON THE ON RAMP PASSING A SEMI WHEN I EASED OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT THE GAS PEDAL STAYED ON THE FLOOR. I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO SPEED UP UNTIL IT HIT APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH WHEN A SERVICE THROTTLE BODY MESSAGE LIT UP ON THE DASH AND RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL. THE DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE TRUCK FOR DAY NUMBER 4. THEY CAN'T FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT THREW A CODE WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE TRUCK IS BRAND NEW 2015 RAM 1500 WITH APPROXIMATELY 1250 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.
