Power train, Vehicle speed control, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 26, 2019
AFTER AN EMISSIONS UPDATE WAS MADE TO MY VEHICLE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION ON JUNE 4, 2019, THE THROTTLE IS UNRESPONSIVE, THE DIESEL EXHAUST REGENERTION SYSTEM NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND MY FUE ECONOMY HAS DROPPED OVER 10 MPG. IT IS OUT-OF-SERVICE AND UNDRIVEABLE. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES OVER THE LAST 4 MONTHS, AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE AUGUST 1, 2019. I AM BEING TOLD THERE IS NO FIX.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 22, 2019
1. ON 9/20 I RECEIVED FROM FCA DEALER THE RECALL UPDATE AGREED TO UPON SETTLEMENT WITH THE EPA. 2. WHILE DRIVING ON 9/21 I WAS AT A STOP AND NEEDED TO CHANGED LANES. 3. WHEN I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE STALLED AND BARELY MOVED THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS BEFORE PICKING UP AND MOVING NORMALLY. 4. HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE BEEN ON COMING IT COULD HAVE CREATED A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON A MAJOR ROAD AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION. 5. I HEREBY EXERT THAT THE "FIX" FOR THE EMISSIONS BY FCA IS NOW CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR "OWNERS" WHO HAVE RECEIVED THIS THIS RECALL "FIX" 6. ADDITIONALLY IT APPEARS FUEL MILEAGE IS ALSO DROPPING ABOUT 5%-10% 7. RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I AM FINDING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. 8. SOMETIMES THE CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTIONS SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT, I HAVE REPEATEDLY TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THIS COMPLAINT BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT FIND ANY ISSUE. 9. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT NHSTA GET VEHICLES BEFORE AND AFTER THE "FIX" AND DO SUBSTANTIAL TESTING, AS IT IS NOT 100% OF THE TIME AND ISSUE AND MAY BE HARD TO REPLICATE. 10. OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE AFFECTED - LOWER PERFORMANCE AND LESS TORQUE 11.IF FUEL MILEAGE IS DOWN AND PERFORMANCE IS DOWN I WOULD SUSPECT THAT EMISSIONS MAY ACTUALLY BE WORSE THAN PRIOR TO THE "FIX" BEING IMPLEMENTED.

SINCE GETTING THE RAM ECO DIESEL MANDATORY RECALL / RE FLASH. I HAVE EXPERIENCED A "DEAD PEDAL." IT'S NOT AS BAD IN WARMER WEATHER BUT NOW WE ARE STARTING TO EXPERIENCE COLDER MORNINGS AND WINTER IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. THE DRIVE-ABILITY OF THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND UNSETTLING. I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY FAMILY NOW.
Vehicle speed control, Sep 10, 2019
AFTER THE NEW UPDATE THAT WAS FORCED ON THE ECO DIESELS OWNERS, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATING AFTER STARTING UP AND TAKING OFF. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS LAG IN ACCELERATION. IT GETS A LITTLE BETTER AS IT WARMS UP BUT NOT MUCH BETTER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT IN AN INTERSECTION OR GET TO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. ONE TIME I WAS PULLING OUT INTO AN INTERSECTION AND I HAD THE PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING, IF I WAS FURTHER BACK ON THE HILL I'D PROBABLY WOULD HAVE GONE BACKWARDS. STILL HAPPENS.

HAD THE RECALL V08 DONE AND NOW MY TRUCK LAGS POWER AND TAKES FOREVER TO ACCELERATE WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN IT IS COLDER. IT ALSO HAS LOST POWER WHEN I'M TOWING. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT WITH MY FAMILY IN IT.

AFTER AEM EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS UPDATE THE TRUCK AT 57,920 HAS POOR ACCELERATION FROM A START. IT DOESN'T GET OUT OF ITS ON WAY. MILEAGE DROPPED 4 MPG. HAS POOR ACCELERATION UP HILLS. THIS UPDATE CLAIMED TO NOT ALTER THE WAY THE VEHICLE DRIVES AND THAT IS NOT THE CASE. THIS IS NOT THE TRUCK THAT I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT. I HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE OF THE POOR ACCELERATION FROM A STOP "TURBO LAG" THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

I HAD MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE SOME RECALLS. LONG STORY SHORT IS THE "RECALL" WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX EMISSIONS ISSUES. AFTER THE RECALL WORK THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IN DANGEROUSLY BAD. THERE IS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION THAT IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. I DON'T DRIVE MY TRUCK VERY HARD SO I DIDN'T NOTICE IT AT FIRST, BUT I WENT TO MAKE A LEFT HANDED TURN AT A LIGHT AND WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE MY TRUCK DIDN'T PERFROM AND IT HAD IN THE PAST. THE LITERATURE I WAS GIVEN AFTER THE "RECALL" WORK WAS DONE SAY "THE AEM IS NOT EXPECTED TO CHANGE ANY OF YOUR KEY VEHICLE ATTRIBUTES, SUCH AS RELIABILITY, DRIVABILITY, VEHICHLE PERFORMANCE ETC." FALSE. AGAIN SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET THIS DONE AND BE IN AN ACIDENT WHEN THEIR TRUCK DOES PERFORM AS IT DID IN THE PAST. I NOW DRIVE THIS LIKE ITS A GUTLESS WONDER BUT SOMONE ELSE MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSTLER AND HAD IT IN THE THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "WORKING AS INTENDED". DANGEROUS.

AFTER FCA COMPLETED THE EMISSIONS RECALL ON MY 2016 RAM THE TRUCK NOW DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS CAUSED SEVERAL ISSUES WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC OR ONTO THE INTERSTATE. ALSO WHILE PULLING A TRAILER I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY INTO TRAFFIC OR TO THE HIGHWAY. DUE TO THIS WHILE PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC I HAVE BARELY AVOIDED SEVERAL WRECKS.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jul 30, 2019
AEM REFLASH AS REQUIRED BY THE FCA EMISSIONS RECALL #V08 HAS CAUSED THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY, CAUSING NUMEROUS NEAR MISSES WHEN CROSSING AND TURNING PAST ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP REPORTS ALL RECALLED CUSTOMERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUES.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jul 29, 2019
RAM ECODIESEL RECALL. MY POST AEM EMISSIONS FLASH HAS CREATED A SIGNIFICANTLY IMPAIRED VEHICLE WITH UNPREDICATABLE ACCCELLERATION AND ENGINE RESPONSE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE VEHICLE BECAME IMPARIED AFTER THE EPA/DOJ FORCED RECALL FOR EMMISSIONS CONTROL TAMPERING. THIS UPDATE HAS PUT MY FAMILY IS SEVERAL SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS NO POWER OR RESPONSIVENESS. PULLING OUT OF SIDE STREETS ACROSS TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS NO POWER OR RESPONSIVENESS. THE TRUCKS MPG HAS GONE DOWN NEARLY 15% AND DEF CONSUPTION HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY. PLEASE DO SOMETHING AS FCA IS CLAIMING THERE IS NO ISSUE. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Jul 16, 2019
WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FROM A DEAD STOP THE VEHICLE HAS AN EXTREMELY SLOW RESPONSE TIME. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD AND ACCELERATES. THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE UNTIL AFTER THE EMISSIONS RECALL WAS CONDUCTED ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY WITH THE ENGINE COOLANT UNDER 150 DEGREES F. AFTER THE TEMP REACHES 150 DEGREES F THE ISSUE SEEMS TO SUBSIDE AND GO AWAY.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Jul 8, 2019
AFTER HAVING THE EMISSION RECALL COMPETED ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL I AM EXPERIENCING MAJOR POWER LOSS IN CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS. THIS CONDITION INCLUDES REDUCED THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AFTER COLD STARTING. I WILL START MY TRUCK AND DRIVE 2 BLOCK TO A 50 MPH HIGHWAY. AFTER STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN I WILL ACCELERATE ACROSS THE LANES OF THE HIGHWAY. SINCE THIS RECALL THERE IS SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE THROTTLE LEADING TO TRAFFIC HAVING TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE I'M NOT ACCELERATING. I CAN PUSH THE THROTTLE TO THE FLOOR AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE RPM INCREASE. I'M BASICALLY IDLING FORWARD INTO 50 MPH TRAFFIC WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND AFTER CONSULTING WITH FCA THEY HAVE COME BACK AND TOLD ME THIS IS THE NEW NORMAL FOR MY TRUCK. THE SECOND DEALER HAS EVEN STATED THEY ARE ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND AFTER SUBMITTING THEIR FINDINGS TO FCA THEY WERE TOLD TO INFORM ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL. THIS LIMITED THROTTLE RESPONSE IS ESPECIALLY CONCERNING GIVEN THE SPEED OF THE ROAD I LIVE OFF OF AND THE FACT THAT FCA CONSIDERS THIS NORMAL. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS AFTER EVERY COLD START AND THERE IS A LARGER LAG IF THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON. THIS THROTTLE LAG ONLY STARTED OCCURRING AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON 5/30/2019 AND HAD OCCURRED REGULARLY SINCE.
Power train, Vehicle speed control, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 7, 2019
RECEIVED A RECALL TO INSTALL AEM COMPUTER UPDATE. SINCE THE UPDATE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACCELERATION DELAYS FROM A STOP THERE IS A 3-5 SEC DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TRYING TO MERGE I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD A # OF TIMES TO AVOID A REAR END ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION MY GAS MILEAGE HAS ALSO BEEN DECREASED FROM AN AVERAGE OF 18-20 MPG DOWN TO 14-16 MPG. SINCE THE APPROVED FIRMWARE MODIFICATION PER MDL NO. 2777 (N.D. CAL.) THE VEHICLE HAS EXTREME DELAY IN ACCELERATION. MULTIPLE TIMES THIS LAG HAS SLOWED ME IN THE PATH OF MOVING TRAFFIC AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I DO NOT PULL INTO TRAFFIC UNSAFELY BUT THE LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE HAS CREATED AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT PREDICTABLE AND ALMOST SEEMS TO CUT THROTTLE AT RANDOM TIMES.OFTEN ONCE THE VEHICLE DOES RESPOND AFTER THE DELAY IT CAUSES WHEEL SPIN ALSO CREATING A HAZARDOUS POTENTIAL IN ADVERSE WEATHER

AFTER RECEIVING THE EMISSIONS RECALL UPDATE V08 ON MY RAM ECODIESEL IT NOW HAS A LAG WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL THAT HAS NEARLY RESULTED IN ME BEING HIT BY OTHER DRIVERS BECAUSE THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THIS IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN AT A STOP AND MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN.

"ECO DIESEL EMISSIONS UPDATE," UPON HAVING MY TRUCK ECM FLASHED WITH THE COURT SETTLEMENT EMISSION UPDATE, I HAVE OBSERVED SEVERE POWER LOSS. TO THE POINT OF 4-5 SECONDS OF DELAY WHEN INITIALLY PULLING OUT IN TO TRAFFIC ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY. VERY SLUGGISH AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT . THIS STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE UPDATE . MY TRUCK DROVE FINE BEFORE THE UPDATE.

AROUND 2-3 THOUSAND RPM MY 2016 DODGE RAM 1500 TRADESMAN WITH 23,000 MILES GET THIS HORRIBLE VIBRATION THAT SEEMS TO ORIGINATE FROM THE TRANSMISSION AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VIBRATION FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE THE DRIVESHAFT OR TRANSMISSION. DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST I'M GOING, AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE GAS AND THE TRUCK BEGINS TO DOWNSHIFT I START FEELING THE VIBRATION ONCE I PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT'S FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK IS VIBRATING BROUGHT THE GAS PEDAL AS IF I'M RIDING ON A RUMBLE STRIP. I LITERALLY HAVE TO ALMOST FLOOR IT FOR THE VIBRATION TO GO AWAY.
