The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to make a turn, the steering wheel seized. The contact attempted to turn the steering wheel, but the steering wheel failed to move. The contact veered over to the shoulder where the vehicle remained. The contact called the dealer who confirmed there were no opened recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

  2. Air bags, Other or unspecified, May 15, 2024, crash

On 02/11/2024 my boyfriend and I were involved in a rear-end collision. The driver that hit us was going 60 to 70 mph at the time of impact while we were sitting at a traffic light. The airbags did not deploy and now my boyfriend and I have sustained severe injuries due to the accident.

  3. Power train, May 13, 2024

My [XXX] son was driving his Ram 1500 on a country road and the he started hearing a clunking noise and his tires locked up. Luckily he is experienced in driving bigger vehicles and was able to control the vehicle to not wreck it. We had his vehicle towed to repair shop. Less than a day later the repair shop called to tell us that the vehicles transmission needed to be replaced as well as the rear differential. He said the rear diff issue is what caused the transmission to go out. Ive contacted multiple dealerships in hopes to have this replaced for free of charge since Ram had a recall with this same issue. But since the trucks Vin number isn't under the recall they denied the claim. I feel its unfair of a owner of a vehicle that literally has the same issues as a recall within the same year of the recall but can't get compensation for the repairs. Both repairs ended up totaling over $10,000. This truck only had 69,000 miles. My truck was parked in my driveway for several weeks while away from home, I arrived the water pulling into my floor board and the front driver side and running down the top of my headliner into the back seat, also my belongings and leather seats along with the majority of the interior was covered in mold and mildew leaving a foul odor and it stains. I cleaned it up still has a leak, going back on that my rear driver side tail light started filling up with water causing the tail light and module to go bad, whereas a message would pop up on my dash for blind spot not available service required and immediately afterwards my infotainment Center touch screen would go black the rest of my lights on the controls would flash and the vehicle would default to heat I could not roll my front windows down or control the climate in the vehicle until I replaced the tail light with another module, I'm not sure or it is unknown whether or not the water getting into the cab on my truck or the tail light filling with with water was the culprit, I've had numerous electrical issues with his vehicle and as well problems with the power steering before where it went out on me all together while driving 75 mph on the highway, my brakes did not retract when service at a shop and I had to buy two rear brake calipers and rotors to fix the problem because the Pistons from the automatic park brake which is also controlled by the infotainment Center as far as I understand did not retract and caused my rotors to be eaten away prematurely. If anyone's reading this I have plenty of complaints about this vehicle for the price I paid, if one thing after another from the four-wheel drive system to the traction control to the air suspension all the way to the electronics I fix one thing and something else pops up, I've seen numerous Threads Online where hundreds of people have had the same or similar issues and honestly every single one can affect the safety of the vehicle.

The steering rack overheated causing the vehicle to lock up while being driven. Looked issue up online and see this has been an issue and recall for other Ram pickups but Dodge Ram says my truck not covered under recall. I do not drive aggressive nor has this vehicle been used to haul anything heavy. It has 81000 miles on it. Dodge dealership says the electric power steering module has a fault and needs to be replaced but says the module can't be replaced without replacing full rack and pinion steering as well as module for $3000.

I was driving on busy road and truck completely shut down with a warning message”shifter autocorrect active” all power to truck died out and truck cruised to a slow speed and then abruptly jumped into park.i would restart it, drive few feet and it did it again. A few times it drove for a relatively longer distance but same message would come up and truck shut down in motion. Police had me take it off the road as i was causing very unsafe situations for myself and for all others around me. Had truck towed home, Unhooked battery once car got home to help reset it, took it out again and exactly same thing. Called dealer they said never heard of it , yet there are hundreds of complaints regarding this situation online. Taking it into dealer to have a diagnosis done

I own a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie quad cab 4x2. In two different instances while accelerating from a stop or near stop the transmission dropped completely out of gear. The message "Return shifter to park(P) then shift to desired gear" has come up. On one of those occasions I was pulling out onto a main road. Luckily for me there was no traffic at that moment as I made it into the lane before the transmission dropped out. My truck just rolled 80K miles. This is a major life safety issue and has taken away my confidence in my vehicle.

In 2023 i replaced the electric power steering box after it seized up while I was driving. I have seen several recalls on this issue for every other year but 2019. The exact same issue exists in my truck. I spent $3500 to replace what should be a recall based on every other recall for this electric power steering that has occurred. The wheel locked in place and prevented me from even moving it from where it was. I was stranded in the middle of Tennessee on a road trip, while living in Arizona. This should absolutely be looked into. Truck was taken to Bristol, TN Dodge dealer. Friendship Chrysler Jeep Dodge.

While driving at low speed in city street, the Sterring wheel became very hard, and error display showed failure, stoped at red ligth and turned truck of on, problema got worse, was not able to drive, with many errors called dealership as I was 2 blocks away, came and helped take truck to dealership and after eview they stated that the issue was battery and all programing lost. 2 months after problem happen again this time only the steering became hard, problem was on off for a pair of days, taken to deaershipl and they advised that the issue was the Pinon and rack assembly(gear) but stated that warranty was out, I find this irresponsible as there was a recall for same year but limited to 200 cars, recall 19V 812, the problem I have is the same, this is a risk since you lose direction control.with out any warning, Dodge should be responsible for this and actually assure that they have fixed the issue with this component, I do not feel secure and repair has a very high cost about 4k dolars

Car went in limp mode then in full lock down. ABS control module failed After research a very common issue. Hundreds of Ram vehicles affected. Just escaped being hit as the truck went in limp mode. After Gear selector locked car in park, I was in the middle of the road with cars approaching. Had to stand behind the vehicle and wave, so no one would crash into me. Chrysler/ Dodge/Ram is aware of this issue. They are also not releasing ABS modules, due to being under engineer review, meaning they are unable to provide a safe part. Many trucks with super low mileage, and mine has 40K. I would feel very uncomfortable to go on a road trip, if it will ever get fixed. The contact has an email with Ram acknowledging the safety issue and diligently to get the part for repairs.

  23. Steering, Apr 2, 2024

The power steering spontaneously failed today, 4/2/2024, without any warning. I then received a message, "power steering unavailable service required" and the corresponding warning light illuminated. I have called the dealership and explained the issue, but they have not returned my call. I later started the vehicle and everything "appeared" normal. After attempting to drive again, after a short way the power steering failed again. It becomes extremely difficult to turn the steering wheel when this happens. The spontaneous nature and lack of warning of this critical driving component has a high likelihood of causing an accident. It is impossible to properly maneuver the truck in this state. It takes great strength to even maneuver the steering wheel a small amount without the power steering. This can be detrimental if it occurs under the wrong circumstances. My truck is extremely well maintained and serviced regularly. I only have 41k miles on the vehicle.

TRUCK WAS AT THE SHOP FOR A REPAIR, UPON THE TECHNICIAN DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN HE TURNED INTO A PARKING LOT THE WHOLE TRUCK SHUT OFF, TOW TRUCK HAD TO BRING IT BACK TO THE SHOP, THIS IS A PROBLEM IN THIS TRUCK BUT THE VIN DOESNT HAVE RECALL ALTHOUGH 15 EPS SERIAL #'S ARE INCLUDED IN A POWER STEERING RECALL.

  25. Engine, Mar 29, 2024

There is a ticking noise I hear when the truck is first started and it is very obvious until the engine warms up and then it is less noticeable. I also noticed a decrease in fuel mileage. I had a mechanic look at it and he told me that the right side exhaust manifold was cracked. I ordered the right side manifold and new bolts and had the mechanic install them for me. Once it was installed when we started the truck the noise was still present but not as loud. I had him look at it again thinking that maybe the install was not done correctly and he said the left one was cracked as well. He showed me the crack. I got online and tried to order the left manifold but it was backordered. I told him that I couldn't find one and that I was on a waitlist at one of the dealerships for it. He told me I needed to try to get it ordered as soon as possible because further cracking could cause issues in the engine and cause a catastrophic event and ruin the engine. A year and a half later there are still no parts available. Upon further investigation I have found that this is a common event for these engines and has been for a very long time. The reason the parts are on backorder is because it is happening to most of the trucks with these engines. Also there is not a replacement part that fixes this issue so there are lots of posts online about it happening a second time after replacing the cracked manifold. The only alternative is to change the OEM manifolds out for shorty headers, which is a lot more expensive, and from the looks of it they are on backorder as well now. It's also a safety hazard because all the exhaust fumes leaking out can get into the cabin and cause carbon monoxide poisoning, accidents, deaths, etc. This is unacceptable. A recall needs to be issued and these vehicles need to be repaired at Chrysler's expense no matter the mileage. The worst part is that people agreeing to repair it can't because the parts are on an extended backorder with no ETA.
