The contact's husband owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while entering a parking space at less than 5 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated forward. The vehicle accelerated over the concrete parking block and crashed into the grocery store's front window. The contact stated that the incident happened so quickly that they were uncertain if any warning lights appeared on the instrument panel or if the brake pedal was depressed during the acceleration. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact and her husband were taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, neither suffered any injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard before the contact's insurance had the vehicle towed to an independent body repair shop. EGR cooler has failed and leaked on manifold after 2 EGR bypass cooler replacements. Went online to see when original EGR recall was completed and online data base reported complete Dec 29, 2019. That particular part for the VB1 was not even ready until March-May 2020. There are also no service records or work order for that recall being completed whatsoever. The EGR cooler cracked on the manifold while driving with my kids and almost or did ignite as the whole truck was pouring smoke from behind and underneath. The dealer did inspect and confirm the damage and has been in touch with the manufacturer, acknowledges that there are no service records or work orders for that recall. Dealer acknowledged that no part was available. Manufacturer takes no responsibility but did state in e-mail they believe recall was claimed to have been done in transit during a stop sale.

On August 20, 2025, my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie was taken to the dealership for diagnosis after showing the warning “Electronic Stability Control system needs service,” along with a flashing check engine light. The dealer pulled diagnostic codes and documented U0403-00 (“Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module A”) as well as other communication errors. This is the same defect covered under Stellantis’ recall for ABS module failures that disable stability control in 2019 Ram trucks. However, my VIN is not included in the recall. A few years ago, the truck experienced the same warning, but the problem cleared on its own. Now it has returned and is documented with codes in the dealer system. The dealership acknowledged other recalls were already completed on my VIN, but refuses to perform this safety recall since my VIN is not listed. ABS and ESC failures are not the result of consumer behavior. This is a faulty system created at the time of vehicle manufacturing. There has been no accident or outside damage, and nothing the owner could have done to avoid this issue. The defect lies with the vehicle’s design and creates a serious safety risk for the driver and others on the road. I believe my VIN was excluded from the recall in error and request that NHTSA investigate and expand the coverage.

Safety Complaint – Power Steering Failure on 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Not Covered by Recall VB8 To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring safety issue with my 2019 Dodge RAM 1500 Big Horn 4x4. The vehicle experiences intermittent power steering loss, particularly during colder temperatures. This issue matches the symptoms described in Safety Recall VB8 / NHTSA 19V-812, which affects certain 2019 RAM 1500 vehicles due to contamination in the EPS gear. However, my VIN is not currently included in the recall, despite the alignment in model, year, and issue. I have already incurred diagnostic costs and have a follow-up appointment scheduled at a RAM dealership to further investigate the issue. I am requesting that NHTSA: - Review my case and consider expanding the scope of Recall VB8 to include additional affected VINs - Investigate whether similar complaints have been filed for vehicles outside the current recall range - Ensure Chrysler/RAM is addressing this issue consistently and fairly across all impacted vehicles Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am happy to provide additional documentation upon request. MGU (alternator) has went out on my truck and multiple dealerships have stated they can’t fix it due to parts not available. Molar can’t get the part and now I’m stuck with no vehicle. The dealership told me they have multiple people waiting for the same part and that the MGU is faulty and fails on these trucks. My wife was taking my kids to school and they were stranded on the side of the road because my truck give a battery low warning and then died. It should be illegal for ram to continue to sell these vehicles and refuse to fix them. I can’t even buy a used part to fix it because the dealership won’t program and install a used part.

Unkown, but while driving, I got these alarms all of sudden at the same time.
Seat belts, Aug 16, 2025
Both driver and passenger front seat belts simultaneously faulted that they were bad on the SRS system of the vehicle. Nothing happened to the seat belts, but the dealership wants tons of money to fix this issue of which should not happen so early in this vehicle’s life.

The MGU (motor generator Unit) is failing. Appears to be a known issue with Chrysler. Problem is that this part is not available. Was told that there are over 3,000 backordered parts with no eta. The dealer said that they had several on backorder from May. This is a 2019 product and there is no reason that this part should not be available.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle jerked violently and downshifted unintendedly. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the gear shift indicator and speedometer were malfunctioning. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the failure had recurred while driving at various speeds, and the vehicle stalled on several occasions. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to be restarted after 5-15 minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with loose wires. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while his son was driving 65 MPH, the failure recurred, and the vehicle shut off. The contact's son was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact’s son was unable to remove the ignition key when the vehicle shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.

After coming to a rolling stop and making a right, I would attempt to accelerate. The vehicle would then throw itself out of gear and I could not accelerate. A message would appear on the dash "Shift to P then Desired Gear." The problem would not be fixed until the vehicle was put in park, then back into drive. I took the vehicle to RAM and they could not replicate the issue, but it would happen to me regularly (1-2 times a month at random). I told this to RAM Dealership and RAM Cares, but nobody seemed bothered that it could get people killed. The problem did not seem to get fixed until I took apart the throttle body and cleaned it out by hand. Since then, I had not had an issue.

The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and turned off the vehicle. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the vehicle failed to immediately restart, and several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The vehicle then returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the failure had been referred to an engineer with the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Mopar Part # 68623194AB Generator on a national backorder. There is a problem with this part and MOPAR cannot fix the issue - ETA is non existent - Truck has been parked since July 4. Making payments on a truck that is not functioning. The vehicle shut down completely on I-95. Had to have it towed to my home.

At about 77k miles, I started hearing a humming noise from the engine when I would accelerate and then decelerate. Upon inspection and confirmation from Ram dealership, the Engine Generator Kit (alternator) appeared to have a bad bearing and needed to be replaced. I initially agreed to the replacement until I was told that the part needed is on backorder and that there were roughly 4k orders placed ahead of mine nationally. This means I have no way of fixing this issue using an original MOPAR part. I was told I can agree to pay for the item to get the order placed and then wait until it comes in with no timeframe given other than it could be weeks or months. I am now having to drive around in a vehicle that could potentially breakdown at any time and thus leaving me with no vehicle. I do not have any warning lights on the dash but it seems like I am driving a ticking timebomb.

In November 2024, my 2019 RAM Rebel displayed “SERVICE SHIFTER,” “PARKING ASSIST,” and “CHECK ENGINE” lights. Dealer performed software updates, but one week later the lights returned. Dealer then replaced the parking assist module, but two weeks later the same issue happened again. I have brought the truck in multiple times since. Often the lights turn off before arrival, and dealer states no fault can be detected. I was told to bring it in immediately when the lights are on, which I did, but still no fault found. Problem continues, and now the truck has begun putting itself into park while driving or when stopped. This is an ongoing and serious safety hazard. I also added photos of others affected by the same issue.

2019 Ram limited 4x4 . Leather dash has bubble and shrinking exposing air bags . 5th gen trucks are having issues with this that Stelantis [ Ram] knows of. They know of this issue and wont fix. They seem to have fixed this issue in 2023.
Air bags, Seat belts, Aug 6, 2025
Air bag light came on in the instrument panel. I took it to the dealership along with oil change. They scanned the airbag problem and it came back that the passenger front seatbelt had open circuit. My vehicle is not part of the current recall for this issue. I want to let you know that my build of my vehicle should fall under the current recall for the ongoing build dates with this issue.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact had read about steering recalls on the year, make, and model of the vehicle online. The contact stated that while his son was driving 40-50 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality, causing the vehicle to drive up a curb and to nearly crash into a bridge post. The power steering warning light was illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was started the following day, and the power steering operated as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness had rotted and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that further diagnostic testing was needed. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

The truck lost power steering due to the soldering on the star connecting being messed up. The truck also had 4x4 not available,as well as no brake assist in reverse due to the communication issue. The dealership had to replace the star connector due to soldering issue.

Airbag warning light is on no accident. It just came on no airbags have been deployed. There is a recall for similar. Ran 1500 classics of this make and model but not my VIN number for the same airbag sensor light.
