General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and Silverado 1500 vehicles equipped with certain accessory road tires and a 17" spare tire. The 17" spare tire provided with the vehicle is not compatible for use with the accessory wheels, which can cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) to not function properly under certain conditions.
An ABS system that does not function properly can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will provide a new 17" spare tire and wheel assembly that is compatible with the accessory wheels, free of charge. Dealers will also apply a new spare tire information label, and provide owners with an owner's manual insert clarifying which spare tire to use with the accessory road tires and with the 17" original tires. Owner notification letters were mailed February 7, 2022. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-462-8782 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212346510.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks. The battery positive (B+) cable rings may have been manufactured with excessive glue, potentially causing an intermittent electrical connection between the B+ cable and alternator.
An intermittent electrical connection between the B+ battery cable and the alternator could cause the vehicle to stall, increasing the risk of a crash. The intermittent connection could also lead to electrical arcing, which could generate sufficient heat to damage surrounding material, increasing the risk of a fire.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for the presence of glue or other contamination at the B+ cable attachment to the alternator and clean the connection and reattach the B+ cable connection, as necessary. If arcing has damaged the cable, nut, or alternator, the dealer will replace the damaged components. All services will be performed free of charge. GM issued owners an interim notification on February 4, 2020. GM issued second notice and the recall began March 9, 2019. My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.3 V8 developed a "tick" in the engine. The truck has 93,000 miles. Subsequently, the check engine light came on. I scheduled an appointment at David Stanley Chevrolet on the south side of Oklahoma City to have it checked. I explained what the issue was in detail because I have a back ground in engine repair. Also, I'd performed research on line looking for "technical service bulletins. What I found was a history of issues with this engine, (5.3), involving lifters sticking. I informed the young lady of what I'd found. I was called the next day and told that the technician could not "replicate" the issue and I could pick up my vehicular. Less than half a mile from the dealer, I tried to merge onto [XXX] when the engine began to shutter and miss. Thank God, I was able to avoid a rear end collation. I immediately returned to the dealer where the the problem was identified as a "stuck #1 lifter resulting in significant damage to the cam. I have subsequently had this vehicle back to the dealer three additional times trying to repair oil leaks resulting from these repairs. Engine, Jan 18, 2025
The engine at 108,000 had a lifter that failed. There were no prior warning signs before this happened. This caused the engine to lose power. As a result of the lifter failing this caused other internal damage to the engine. It was towed to a local dealer where I was told it was going to cost over $9000 dollars to repair. It has also had some hard shifting in the transmission as well and many other people have reported engine and transmission issues in these trucks. I had the truck repaired by a reputable shop in my area at the cost of $7000 dollars. It continues to have transmission issues that have not been able to be repaired as of this time.

Engine, Jan 17, 2025
On January 1, 2025, while driving, I heard a loud bang, after which the engine began to knock. I brought the vehicle to the dealership on January 2, 2025, where I was charged over $4,000 for diagnoses. On January 9, 2025, the dealership informed me that the camshaft had broken. The truck had 130,000 miles on it at the time of the incident. I have consistently had the oil changed every 5,000 miles. In my opinion, this damage occurred prematurely.

I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss that exhibits strange and persistent issues. A recurring engine code appears P0499, clears itself, and then reappears without consistent resolution. This affects the remote starter as the engine light will be engaged. Additionally, several service warnings flash momentarily and disappear, including: •Service Trailer Brake System •Brake System Failure – Top Speed Limited to 62 or 43 MPH •Parking Sensor Unavailable These warnings occur without warning and vanish too quickly to document fully. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, technicians have been unable to replicate or resolve the problem. This unpredictable behavior creates safety concerns, particularly regarding brake system reliability and sensor functionality. I and many others experiencing these same issues are concerned about a potential electrical or sensor issue impacting vehicle performance and safety.

Coming home from work one morning, the truck all the sudden displayed lights across the dash saying no oil pressure shut off engine now. So I Immediately pulled over and got out to find oil was coming out of everywhere, my front bumper, the hood, underneath. I had it towed to local Chevrolet dealership and they contacted me today to tell me the oil line from the engine had came loose because of a clamp. So I looked up some problems because it was over $1000 to fix it and found there was a customer satisfaction issued through GM because of the same problems within my year and model truck. Are they in contacted GM to see if they would fix the problem and they told me because my model number was included in their customer satisfaction that they couldn’t fix it even though it was the same year and the same type of truck. So I asked them how I got my model number included and they told me I had to go through the national Highway safety.

My truck is at Hubler Cevrolet in Greenwood, IN with engine oil cooler lines leaking at 40,000 miles. GM Customer satisfaction program for some vin numbers expired in 2023 (N212326940). My vin was identified as being ineligible. Upon my own further research these trucks are known to have issues with leaking or rupturing oil cooler lines leading to catastrophic engine failure. I suspect that the manufacturer of the previously covered lines is the same although the part application number may be different. The manufacturer produced a defective oil cooler line that is previously know to fail especially in cold climates. I am Indianapolis, IN where temperatures have been below 0 at times and is frequently below freezing during winter. My lines starting leaking after the first freeze, about 4 weeks ago. I closely monitored the oil level until I was able to take it to the dealer for further inspection, it always remained above half on the dipstick. I wrongly assumed that the leak was from an overtightened oil drain screw from the previous oil change. I had my oil changed at XpressPro a few days before I took my truck to the dealer because their technician identified the leak was from the oil cooler lines. The tech at Xpresspro showed me a video he took on his personal cell phone showing the oil covering the engine oil cooler lines. The dealer is quoting 1400 for the repairs and they are not covered by powertrain warranty even though the engine would seize if they ruptured while driving. I reached out to GM customer service and spoke with Kaylee she advised me to contact Hubler to inquire about cost assistance and use my case number she gave for reference (XXX). I beleive this should be covered by a recall as it could have ruptured while driving causing the engine to lock and stop all forward momentum. I had known transmission problems resulting in $5974 repairs. I consider this an extreme safety issue. Had the transmission failed in heavy traffic, it would present a dangerous situation for both me and others near me. This is a known issue by GM, nothing is being done to correct this problem.

They sold me a vehicle at the dealer. Three days after I bought it, I had to buy tires for it. Because they were in bad condition, they also charged me for a liquid called 3m nitro and I don't understand why they put it in if the tires were in bad condition, and they also promised to fix some details on the bumper and details on the paint on the body of the truck, and the transmission has already started to fail, and they don't want to help me or take responsibility. The truck still has a Dealer warranty.
