  1. Electrical system, Engine, Aug 29, 2026

Purchased vehicle in August of 2025 and there was an open recall for engine issues at that time. Took vehicle back to dealership in October or November for dealer to inspect. The vehicle passed the engine test and oil was changed to a heavier weight. From October/November 2025 I’ve been noting that there’s been a significant loss of engine oil prior to scheduled maintenance that requires anywhere between 4-5quart top off every three months or so. Feels like the vehicle is sluggish and has no “get-up”. Also, the Auto Emergency Brake light/system keeps malfunctioning. Even after it’s been replaced several times the light comes back on and you’re not able to control the forward collision gauge.

  2. Electrical system, Engine, Aug 27, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH on Interstate 10, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over; however, the vehicle failed to restart. A battery warning message and a no-start message were displayed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine was locked due to bearing failure. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure via phone call and written letter, and the contact was provided with service points. The failure mileage was approximately 53,874.

  3. Engine, Aug 26, 2026

    Engine failure. 5.3L motor

  4. Engine, Aug 26, 2026

Coolant Control Valve is malfunctioning. Running Fans: Loud cooling fans running at full blast shortly after turning off the engine. Extended Warranty Coverage: General Motors issued special coverages (N252508341 / N252508340) extending coolant control valve warranty protection to 15 years or 150,000 miles for select 3.0L Duramax vehicles. Unfortunately, GM says my VIN isn’t covered by the extended warranty even though it has all the same issues as those that are.

  5. Power train, Aug 25, 2026

45,000 Mile 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT - Vehicle began rough shifting, slipping gears, failing to engage into drive, and shuddering at constant acceleration. Transmission valve body failure and replacement needed - confirmed by certified Chevy dealer. Awaiting receipt of warranty valve body from GM, but part has not been released by GM - estimate from dealer is 5+ weeks for receipt of the part based on recent experience with another customer requiring the same repair.

  6. Power train, Engine, Aug 25, 2026

July 11, 2026 I experienced a lifter failure. Towed to GM dealer on July 13th. Dealer comfirmed lifter failure and camshaft damage and metal contamination throughout engine. Dealer installed replacement engine using my mechanical breakdown policy since I was out of factory warranty. Picked up truck one month later with new engine and the transmission started slipping and shuttering. Took back to dealer who claimed metal fragments in fluid and said transmission needed to be replaced. I then made a second claim on my mechanical breakdown policy and the dealer replaced the transmission. All of these issues are known issues with the engine and transmission.

  7. Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 24, 2026

I was driving vehicle through town when I suddenly lost all power and luckily was able to get off the road. Onstar sent a code and it was a fuel pump module

  8. Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Aug 23, 2026

This vehicle suffers from parasitic electrical drain. Is the car sits for a few days, it draws power down from the battery, which then causes the collision detection system to stop functioning.

  9. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 23, 2026

Engine abruptly lost power in middle of high speed lane. I did not have enough momentum to make it to safety, totally on the shoulder, Transmission locked up, couldn’t move vehicle to safety, Extremely dangerous situation!!!

  10. Engine, Aug 23, 2026

    Lifters failed at 4,000 miles.

  11. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 21, 2026

2022 Silverado RST with the L87 engine loss propulsion in traffic of Memorial day weekend with approximately 43,800 miles on the vehicle. Has since been fixed by Chevrolet dealership. Also passed their Pico test, changed oil viscosity and oil cap still failed after their test.

  12. Engine, Aug 21, 2026

Component/system failed: The 6.2L L87 engine. The engine ultimately seized and the vehicle became inoperable. The engine should be available for inspection because it is being replaced under GM Special Coverage N252494003. Safety risk: The engine unexpectedly shut off while driving at highway speeds. Loss of propulsion in traffic creates a significant collision risk. The inability to restart left the vehicle disabled. Confirmed: An independent repair facility confirmed that the engine was seized prior to towing it to the GM dealer. Yesterday the GM dealer confirmed i had a seized engine and it was going to be replacement under N252494003 special coverage entention. Inspections: My truck was inspected in October 25, for the recall. My truck passed this test, and was subsequently was told my oil spec has been revised. Warnings/symptoms: no warning was given

  13. Suspension, Aug 21, 2026

The front upper control arm failed and the driver side wheel collapsed. There was no warning. Luckily I wasn’t pulling my RV camper down a mountain, it could have been catastrophic . I towed it to Carson Chevrolet. They gave me an estimate of $6,000 + for repairs. They had no reasonable explanation.

  14. Electrical system, Service brakes, Engine, Aug 21, 2026

While traveling in bumper to bumper highway traffic in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado RST, I attempted to accelerate and the vehicle suddenly malfunctioned. I experienced sever loss/restriction of propulsion and the vehicle would not respond normally to accelerator input. I was able to maneuver toward the shoulder of the road while avoiding a major multi-car pile up involving innocent motorists. When I attempted to stop, I did not have normal braking ability and was unable to stop in the manner I expected. I had to use the shoulder of the highway to slow the truck down until I could come to a complete stop. This created an immediate risk of serious or fatal collision on the highway, and as I maneuvered the truck out of traffic to the side of the road. Had I been unable to reach the shoulder of the road, I could have been struck by surrounding traffic. Had this failure occured un an urban area or at an intersection, near pedestrians, or at a school bus stop- I could have seriously injured or killed people or myself. After I was able to come to a complete stop. I shut it off and turned it back on, then the truck read there was no gas left (I had a 1/2 tank). This incident is not isolated electronic glitch, I have experienced electrical malfunctions including the truck failing to start, unlocking, responding at all. This all occured after an engine replacement due to a recall. I am concerned that there are unresolved electrical and power-distribution, communication-network, propulsion or braking issues that presents a serious safety risk to myself and others. My concern is that if this malfunction occurred on my drive to work in the city, around pedestrians- it could have resulted in multiple fatalities.

  15. Electrical system, Aug 20, 2026

The digital dashboard display began to flicker. Off more so than on making the dash unreadable. No speedometer, no fuel gauge, no gauges of any kind. When you received an audible notification from the vehicle, you had no way to see the message. As far as any vehicular information, you were not able to see anything.

  16. Engine, Aug 20, 2026

The vehicle previously received the official GM Recall Campaign 25V-274 remedy/inspection, but suffered catastrophic engine failure and sudden loss of propulsion afterwards.

  17. Engine and engine cooling, Aug 18, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the engine temperature increased while driving approximately 60 - 70 MPH. The message “Reduced Speed due to High Temperature” was displayed. The temperature gauge increased to high and then down to low. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was caused by the coolant control valve. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact was advised that an error message needed to be displayed before moving forward. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

  18. Power train, Aug 18, 2026

I own a 2022 Chevrolet silverado 1500 that is jumping and jolting. There is currently a federal recall and the dealership is denying to fix it for free under recall because our VIN is not yet listed, despite the vehicle suffering from the exact transmission failure reported for the same year, make and model. This matches the exact parameters of Safety Recall N252516560. The vehicle is unsafe to drive

  19. Power train, Aug 17, 2026

Automatic transmission failed due to code P0722 (Output Speed Sensor signal lost). The vehicle experienced sudden loss of propulsion, violent/harsh shifting, and severe drivability issues while operating on the highway. Loss of forward motive power at high speeds creates an immediate collision hazard. The vehicle was previously serviced for transmission issues but the defect recurred. The vehicle remains parked and inoperable due to safety concerns.

  20. Power train, Engine, Aug 16, 2026

I have a 2022 silverado ltd with the 6.2. I purchased the truck about a month and a half ago the previous owner had the 40 weight oil recall completed prior to my purchase. I had the oil changed when it said 45 percent life remaining far before it was due a certified chevy dealer completed the oil change with the 40 weight correct oil. Well about 8 days ago I went out and started the truck and heard a clunk sound like a failing starter would make. So later that day I notice a ticking noise as well as a chirping noise. Coming from engine bay. I made note of it. Ever since the noise began I have kept close eyes on it the ticking and chirping rise and fall when I give it gas. Yesterday when I started it the clunk noise happened but this time I felt a shudder or stutter I looked at the rpms and they didn't move at all with the shudder. I have an appointment Monday morning to take it to the dealer I looked into the recall for the thicker oil. And learned that this motor is pretty much junk and multiple issues I haven't driven it since yesterday because the issues I'm having correspond with complete engine failure at any point and I do not want to be on the highway and it happen that would put me and other motorist at risk injury. There has been no warning lights no engine light just the initial clunk the first time and since that it's just been getting worse

  21. Engine, Aug 15, 2026

The motor seized. My life was at risk. I was on the highway. The vehicle was reported to the Chevy dealership and diagnose that the motor is locked.

  22. Engine, Aug 14, 2026

    * Engine/ Yes available for inspection. * Has not happened yet, however the risk exists. * Yes, oil consumption and has been confirmed by dealer and monitored every 1,000 miles. * Been inspected by local dealer only. * Yes, low oil pressure light came on. I was 2 qtrs. LOW, XXX My vehicle was inspected and according to them "passed". 0W-40 was introduced and a new oil cap indicates the change. GM explains that it is acceptable to burn up to 2 qtrs. of oil between oil changes. They have me come to the dealer every 1,000 miles to check the oil level. I came back from a work-related function, putting approx. 220 miles. It was time for oil level inspection, and my engine was found to be 1/2qtr. LOW. I ask them to top it off and I was told; “we do not stock this oil in bulk; you have to buy a qt. and we'll put it in." I have been a car owner since I was [XXX], now [XXX] and have never heard such nonsense in my life. In fact, in my lifetime, I have NOT experienced engine burning oil. This is a 6.2 liter with 57,700 and my fear is that something catoptric will happen to the motor resulting in no recourse. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  23. Power train, Aug 13, 2026

Transmission failed at 38,000 miles. Downshifted violently while driving and couldn't keep up with the 35mph speed limit. Was luckily not on a highway or far from home. Dealership noted it's a common valve body issue in the transmission. No inspections, vehicle has a branded title (hail) and Chevy claims no responsibility for the transmission failure. 0 warning signs or issues.

  24. Engine, Aug 12, 2026

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the check engine light came on, the check the parking brake light came on, and the service electronic stability control system light came on. The engine then started making a knocking sound. These trucks have a known lifter issue. I had a 2021 that had the same problem. It was still under warranty so I was able to get out from under it. This one isn’t and they want $9,000 to replace the engine. There is a recall on the 6.2 liter but not for the 5.3 liter for some reason. These engines have an issue

  25. Engine, Aug 10, 2026

While driving 65mph on the highway the engine locked up and shut down. There was a loss of propulsion and steering making it difficult to safely maneuver off the highway.
