Power train, Feb 26, 2026
Vehicle has a 10-speed electronic controlled transmission that has been identified having issues in other models. The vehicle is experiencing jerking, hard shifting, and shifting delays. I want my model of vehicle to be included in the recall. Recently had the engine replaced due to another recall.
Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Feb 26, 2026
The truck is jumpy during stops. I get a low voltage code but the battery is fine I had it checked out. Reduced acceleration has been activated and after I turn the truck off it is fine. The check engine light comes on and turns off on it's on sometimes same day. I know there is a recall on certain 2022 Silverados but they told me this one wasn't on the recall. It did have one for the brake system they said.
Engine, Feb 25, 2026
The engine seized while at highway speed in traffic during evening rush hour. The engine failure has been confirmed by a GM dealer and is set for replacement. There was no warning or indication that total engine failure was imminent.
Engine, Feb 24, 2026
I started my truck and was driving it started to shake and felt forced. Making a sound vibration . I received a message on dashboard " Reduce acceleration drive with care" it felt like I was going to loose power so I turned into the parking lot and had it towed to chevrolet dealership for service. The safety was good in the sense that I parked the vehicle into a parking lot to prevent accidents in the freeway. The dealership claims it's my engine needs replacement.
Engine, Feb 23, 2026
Truck shift irratically and engine revved high and engine oil too hot message came up. Truck started to shut down on highway at 65mph pulling trailer and side by side in traffic. Once stopped truck would not restart. Engine oil temp was pegged too hot. Had to have truck towed.

Power train, Feb 19, 2026
My wife borrowed my truck and went to Costco, after backing out of the parking spot the truck sputtered and stalled in the lane of travel. The truck would not start and more importantly she was not able to get it into neutral. The truck would simply state "shift conditions not met" and would stay in park. There is no options listed in the manual to get the vehicle into neutral manually. This "shift conditions not met" bricked my truck in the entrance / exit of a busy Costco. What would have happened if this happened on a main road or a freeway?
Other or unspecified, Feb 18, 2026
The automatic shifting gear is not shifting the vehicle won't speed up.
Vehicle speed control, Engine, Feb 18, 2026
My vehicle lost reverse. It can not reverse what so ever. I was in traffic when it happened thankfully someone where there willing to help. I was told I needed a valve body, after spending 3k plus I was then told the transmission has to be replaced. And its a common thing with these vehicle losing your ability to reverse while driving is very very dangerous.

Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 17, 2026, crash
I own a 2022 Chevy Silverado with a 6.2 liter engine. I had the original engine up until approx 80k in mileage when it failed, I was on a dark country road doing approximately 50mph and the propulsion system failed and the truck shut off, being a country road, I had minimum breaking and minimal steering. I had my [XXX] son in the car, we ended up in a culvert and I scraped either a large rock or a piece of concrete that sometimes line culverts, it did damage. At the time, until recently, I had no idea I should report this. I did know that GM had issued a recall and I believed the engineer would be covered, which it was. I never reported the damage to insurance as I didn't want my ins to go up anymore, so I have not fixed it yet. My [XXX] old was scared beyond belief. Anyhow, Williams Chevy in Elkton, Md replaced the engine free of any cost. I believe the dates are approx to be 9/26 to 10/25/ 2025.On or about 11/25 or 26th 2025, with approx 2k miles on the newly installed 6.2 liter engine, while traveling with my [XXX] son, I experienced another catastrophic engine failure. This time we were traveling on 896 in Delaware and rt 40. While crossing over, the car cut off completely again while traveling at 50mph. We barely avoided a collision on the other side of the intersection with merging traffic, I applied the Manuel breaks along with the power steering was out too. My spouse was angry that GM is still doing this knowing this could be the result.Upon the 2nd installation, I dropped the truck off on the above date. It took until 1/5/26 bor approx 1/9/26.On approx 2/12/26 I had the oil changed at a local jiffy lube. This was conducted at 3400 miles, less than the manufacturer suggests with the new 40w oil. Anyhow, yet again, my truck had zero rewarding on the dipstick. I have paperwork for both engine installs and the jiffy lube paperwork documenting the no reading on the dip stick.I am a disabled veteran and this is an unsafe and unreliable fix from GM. Power train, Electrical system, Lane departure, Feb 16, 2026
Truck went into limp mode. Would not shift. Stayed in one gear and would not back up. The truck basically downshifted from 8th to 2nd gear, causing me to lock up the brakes and almost lose control. Several warning lights on the dash. It's been at a transmission shop for over 3 weeks. They are having issues being able to get parts from GM. They are having problems fixing it. The blind spot lights will turn on for no reason. The lights opposite of the vehicle comes on. I've almost wrecked multiple times.
Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 16, 2026
they did the pico test they said the engine was good they upgraded the oil months after that 3 time back to the dealer do to loss of Propulsion its in a GM dealer SHOP waiting for the new long block as of 02-16-2026
Electrical system, Engine, Feb 15, 2026
The raido screen glitches randomly and wont let you use it. The engine has a bad shudder while driving. When the engine shudders the RPMs go down. It has hard shift most of the time after sitting over night and starting driving in the morning. It has been doing these issues for at least 6 months.
Seat belts, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 13, 2026
Loud chatter/rattle noise under acceleration and idle loss of power with no engine lights on dash metallic shards in oil.
Engine, Feb 11, 2026
I had the GM 6.2L motor recall test, it passed. Catastrophic engine failure at 50mph roughly 6000-7000 miles later. Luckily I got off the road safely. Confirmed by GM dealer, new engine has been ordered. No warning lights.
Electrical system, Engine, Feb 10, 2026
I was driving on the highway and there was a sudden drop in power and hesitation in the engine. I slowed down too quickly on a busy highway and almost got rear ended. I took it to the shop and found out I had to replace the engine due to the cam and lifters were bad. It cost $12,000 to replace a four year engine with 148,000 miles. The time before that this happened, I had to replace the engine wiring harness
Engine, Feb 10, 2026
Brought my 2022 Chevy Silverado 6.2 L engine into dealership for Safety Recall N252494001 L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. Engine passed this initial inspection, Oil, Oil Filter and Oil cap was changed and was sent on my way. February 4th, 2026, Engines lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed, (75mph) causing a serious safety concern with rush hour traffic. After pulling over to the side of the highway, I reset the truck by cycling the ignition and was able to start the truck. On February 5th, 2026, Engine lost propulsion again at neighborhood speed, (20) in a construction site. Truck was blocking traffic at this point. Engine was unable to be started, transmission was locked in Parked and unable to be shifted. Had to have truck "dragged" out of traffic. Dealership was notified that I had possible catastrophic engine failure. I was advised by dealership to have it towed, at my expense to them. Truck was towed at a cost of $196 out of pocket. Tow cost an extra $50 due to the electronic shift no allowing for transmission to be shifted into neutral or linkage to be released by tow company. February 6th, 2026, dealership notified me that the engine had a catastrophic failure and would need to be replaced. Dealership has motor but trying to source one time use parts that were currently unavailable. No time frame given on sourcing those parts as of February 10th, 2026. Dealership/GM arranged for a rental car but financial limits set by GM does not include the ability to be given a truck as a rental. I am in construction and need a truck and have a once in a lifetime trip coming up March 13th. I am in need of a truck for the trip to haul my SxS and gear to another state. Very frustrated at GM for doing a piss poor job on rectifying the engine issue in the L87. The personal safety of loosing engine propulsion at 75mph during rush hour traffic could have ended in a bad accident.
Engine, Feb 10, 2026
The engine coolant control valve went out on my vehicle. It is an 2022 LM2 engine. I found that that part frequently goes bad prematurely on this model. I also determined that this should be covered under N252508341. I was told by GM customer support that based on my vin it is not covered and they would not give me any further information. This is outrageous as this is the same defective part covered on their extended warranty.
Electrical system, Feb 10, 2026
While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST, the vehicle has lost power on two to three separate occasions. During these incidents, the truck experienced a sudden loss of engine power and electrical functionality while in motion. The vehicle either significantly reduced power or shut down unexpectedly, creating an immediate safety hazard. The failure appears to involve the electrical system and/or powertrain, as dashboard functions and vehicle response were affected at the same time as the loss of propulsion. In at least one incident, this occurred at driving speed, placing me and other motorists at risk of a collision due to the sudden loss of acceleration and reduced ability to maneuver safely. No prior warning lamps or messages consistently appeared before the failure. The incidents occurred without warning. The problem is intermittent and has happened more than once, increasing concern that the defect may worsen or result in a crash. This issue represents a serious safety risk because loss of power while driving can lead to loss of control, rear-end collisions, or inability to safely move out of traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Engine, Feb 9, 2026
On 2/5/2026, the 6.2 liter L87 engine in my 2022 ZR2 Silverado locked up and is currently located at Edwards Chevrolet on highway 280 in Birmingham, AL. While on I-65 in Birmingham, AL. and prior to locking up, the engine power decreased, and RPM's increased, followed by a dash message that oil temperature is high; pull over and idle. After idling the engine the dash message disappeared and oil pressure was good. We drove approx. 1.5 miles to a parking lot where the engine seized or locked up. The truck was towed to the above referenced dealership. The dealership confirmed the engine was locked up the next day. During the Summer of 2025, the dealership inspected the engine and performed an oil consumption test after I reported the engine had burned two quarts of oil between oil changes. Their fix was to transition from 0W-20 to 0W-40 oil, which has been adhered to since. The truck only has 56,000 miles on it.
