Recalls and investigations

  1. Seat belts, frontApr 8, 2021

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.

A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

  2. Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, wheel speed sensor/tone ringOct 24, 2019

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.

Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192261050.

  3. Service brakes, hydraulic, power assist, vacuumSep 6, 2019

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.

As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192268490.

  4. Steering, electric power assist systemSep 7, 2018

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade vehicles. Electric power steering (EPS) assist may be lost momentarily, followed by a sudden return of EPS assist.

If EPS assist is lost and then suddenly returns, the driver may have difficulty steering the vehicle, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began October 12, 2018. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18289.

  5. Seat belts, frontMay 3, 2018

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Tahoe Police Pursuit and Special-Service vehicles. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.

If the pretensioner cable becomes fatigued or breaks, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the pretensioner cable and seat side-shield, free of charge. The recall began June 19, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 18156.

  6. Air bags, frontalJul 10, 2017

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, Suburban LTZ, Tahoe, Tahoe LTZ, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL Denali vehicles manufactured on May 13, 2014. The affected vehicles were assembled with a roof rail air bags (RRAB) that were not reinforced at the points were the bags contact the hardware used to attach the roof carrier.

During deployment, the RRAB may be punctured or torn by the roof carrier hardware, reducing its performance and increasing the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the roof carrier attaching hardware, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early September 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet) or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14359.

  11. Power train, transfer case (4-wheel drive)Jun 27, 2014

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles, and model year 2015 GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, an electrical signal short may cause the transfer case to shift to neutral without the driver's input.

If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is parked and the parking brake is not in use, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of injury to bystanders. If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is being driven, the vehicle would lose drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will re-program the software in the transfer case control module, free of charge. The recall began in early August 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14192.

  12. Electrical system, softwareJun 6, 2014

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, and 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban vehicles equipped with a base radio and an internal amplifier. The radios in the affected vehicles may become inoperative, and as a result, there would be no audible chime to notify the driver if the door is opened with the key in the ignition or no audible seat belt warning indicating the seat belts were not buckled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention," and 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Without an audible indicator, the driver may not be aware that the driver's door is open while the key is in the ignition, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway. Additionally, there would be no reminder that the driver's or front seat passenger's seat belt is not buckled, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began on July 2, 2014. Chevrolet owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GMC owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14315.

In the affected vehicles, the tie rod threaded attachment may not be properly tightened to the steering gear rack.

An improperly tightened tie rod attachment may allow the tie rod to separate from the steering rack, resulting in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

GM notified all owners, and dealers will inspect the inner tie rods to make sure that they are correctly tightened, replacing the steering gear, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 14, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14204. 2. Electrical system, Oct 24, 2015

THE CAR FAILS TO LOCK OR DISABLE THE EXTRA KEY (KEY FOB), MAKING IT SUSCEPTIBLE TO THEFT AND JOYRIDING, WHEN 1) PASSIVE LOCKING IS ON, 2) THE EXTRA KEY FOB IS IN THE CAR AND 3) A DOOR IS OPENED AND CLOSED AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS PREVIOUSLY PASSIVELY LOCKED. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO SEVERAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS, CHEVROLET CUSTOMER CARE AND ELEVATED TO CHEVROLET ENGINEERING IN AT LEAST TWO CASES. NOT ONLY DOES THE OWNERS MANUAL STATE THAT PASSIVE LOCKING WORKS WITH ONLY ONE RKE TRANSMITTER (KEY FOB) REMOVED, IT MAKES LOGICAL SENSE THAT IT WOULD BE DESIGNED THAT WAY. FOR EXAMPLE, YOU TAKE YOUR WIFE OUT FOR DINNER. SHE LEAVES HER PURSE IN THE CAR, WITH THE SECOND KEY IN IT, YOU WOULD STILL WANT THE CAR TO PASSIVELY LOCK IF YOU HAD THAT FUNCTION ON AND YOU WALKED AWAY FROM THE CAR. FOLLOWING ARE THE DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PASSIVE LOCKING IS TURNED ON AND WHAT THE POSSIBLE FATAL CONSEQUENCES MIGHT BE: 1) AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN, THE PASSIVE LOCKING SYSTEM FUNCTIONS PROPERLY AND LOCKS THE CAR WITH BOTH KEY FOBS REMOVED OR WITH ONE FOB IN THE CAR. 2) WITH BOTH FOBS REMOVED, SOMEONE WITH A KEY FOB CAN APPROACH THE CAR AND OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR ANY NUMBER OF TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY WALK AWAY, THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY (PASSIVELY) LOCK. 3) IF ONLY ONE KEY FOB IS REMOVED, SOMEONE WITH THE EXTERNAL FOB CAN APPROACH AND OPEN THE CAR BUT THE CAR WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. ADDITIONALLY, THE KEY FOB INSIDE THE CAR REMAINS ACTIVE AND ALLOWS ANYONE TO ENTER THE CAR, BECAUSE IT IS NOW UNLOCKED, START AND DRIVE IT AWAY. 4) THE UNFORTUNATE BUT POSSIBLE FATAL CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE CAR UNLOCKED AND DRIVABLE IS THAT IT COULD BE STOLEN AND INVOLVED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. POSSIBLE SCENARIOS OF HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN ARE NUMEROUS. GM SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THIS SERIOUS MALFUNCTION, ADDRESS IT AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED.

I CALLED GM TO ASK ABOUT A BUY BACK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THAT CAR WITH KIDS. THEN LATER THE SAME DAY, I WAS BACKING OUT OF SONS LITTLE LEAGUE GAME AND STEERING COLUMN LOCKED AND DISPLAYED LOCKED ON INFORMATION SCREEN. I HIT BRAKES AND LOCK DISPLAY DISAPPEARED SO I SHIFTED TO PARK AND THEN TO BACK TO REVERSE AND STEERING COLUMN LOCK AGAIN DISPLAY AND LOCK. I THEN PUT CAR BACK INTO PARK AND TURNED OFF. I TURN CAR BACK ON AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND IT WAS WORKING FINE NO MORE STEERING COLUMN LOCK DISPLAY. I HAVE A KEYLESS START, LOADED LT MODEL THAT HAS ALL FEATURES OF AN LTZ TAHOE.

FOR EXAMPLE IT IS ADVERTISED TO PROVIDE A HEADS UP VISUAL WARNING AS WELL AS AN AUDIAL WARNING IF I APPROACH THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME TO RAPIDLY. IT DOES NOT THE SYSTEM ALSO A GREEN AUTOMOBILE ICON WHEN YOU ARE FOLLOWING CLOSER THAN ABOUT 200 FEET TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. THE GREEN ICON IS ADVERTISED TO TURN YELLOW IF YOU FOLLOW TOO CLOSE. IT DOES NOT. THE ONLY TIME THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN THE RED HEADS UP DISPLAY IS WHEN IT IS A FALSE ALERT. ALL AND ALL, THIS SYSTEM WHICH WAS TOUTED TO BE A GREAT SAFETY FEATURE IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS.

  15. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Equipment adaptive/mobility, Apr 25, 2015

UPON PURCHASE OF A NEW 2015 TAHOE I OBSERVED THE POSSIBILITY OF A PROBLEM WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION ALERT SYSTEM (FCA). I REPORTED THIS TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT CHEVROLET. ON 9 APRIL 2015 THE SERVICE MANAGER, ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER, MASTER TECHNICIAN, AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A TEST DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT MODERATE HIGHWAY SPEEDS I DEMONSTRATED THE VARIOUS PHASES AND OPERATION OF VEHICLE DETECTION. THE FCA HAS PLENTY OF SENSITIVITY AND DETECTS VEHICLES IN EXCESS OF THE SPECIFIED DISTANCE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL WHICH IS NOT AN ISSUE. AT A MODERATE CLOSING RATE BETWEEN VEHICLES THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ICON CHANGES FROM GREEN TO AMBER-ORANGE WHICH APPEARS NOMINAL. HOWEVER, THE RED ALARM HEADS-UP WINDSHIELD DISPLAY, RAPID HIGH-PITCHED BEEPS AND RED ICON ARE NEVER ACTIVATED UNTIL A CLOSING DISTANCE ABOUT ~3 FEET BEFORE A COLLISION. THERE IS VIRTUALLY ZERO REACTION TIME FOR A DRIVER TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE AT LESS THAN ONE CAR LENGTH BEFORE GOING TO RED. IN ADDITION, THE SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO DISENGAGE THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC). CONSIDERING TIME, RATE, AND DISTANCE THIS IS INEFFECTIVE AS THE MASS AND KINETIC ENERGY ALSO NEEDS TO FULLY DISENGAGE BEFORE A POTENTIAL COLLISION. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF CREATING A TRAFFIC INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TESTED TO THE LEVEL OF A FULL COLLISION. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS, ADJUSTMENTS, OR SOFTWARE PATCHES THAT MAY CORRECT THIS DEFICIENCY BY THE DEALER. GM STATED THAT THE SYSTEM WORKS AS DESIGNED AND DELIVERED. THE GM FORWARD COLLISION ALARM (FCA) DELIVERED PRODUCT APPEARS TO HAVE A DESIGN DEFICIENCY AND IS AN OPERATIONAL SAFETY HAZARD WAITING TO HAPPEN. IF THE FCA DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY THEN WHY INTRODUCE IT TO A CONSUMER REGARDLESS OF GM OWNER MANUAL WARNINGS ABOUT TRUSTING ALERT SYSTEMS. *TR

JANUARY 15, 2015 NOT EVEN TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE I GOT IN IT AFTER WORK AND NOTICED I COULDN'T MANAGE THE CLIMATE CONTROLLERS (HEATING/AIR CONDITIONING/SPEED/AIR FLOW) NOTHING IN THE FRONT OR BACK. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SENT IN A PICTURE. ALL THE KNOBS AND CONTROLLERS FOR JUST THE CLIMATE WERE DARK, NO LIGHTING AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. I DROVE IT HOME AND SINCE IT WAS SO COLD OUT IT WAS THOUGHT MAYBE IT JUST NEEDED TO WARM UP MORE. I DROVE 45 MINUTES HOME AND THE CLIMATE CONTROLLERS NEVER TURNED ON AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I WAS ALSO HAVING OTHER ISSUES AND THEY STATED THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FINE WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROLLERS FROM THAT POINT ON UNTIL THIS WEEKEND. ON MARCH 21, 2015 I DROVE TO PICK UP BREAKFAST, EVERYTHING WAS FINE. AN HOUR LATER AFTER WE PILED IN THE VEHICLE AND WERE DRIVING I WENT TO KICK THE AIR ON AS IT WAS GETTING WARM AND NOTICED THE CONTROLLERS WERE NOT RESPONDING AGAIN. I PULLED OVER INTO A PARKING LOT AND RECORDED MY ACTIONS SO THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T SAY THEY NEED TO "SEE IT." I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, TRIED TURNING THE LIGHTS ON AND OFF, REMOTE STARTING, EVERYTHING BUT DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. NOTHING. THE REST OF THE DAY WHILE WE BOUNCED FROM STORE TO STORE WITH HAD NO AIR. MARCH 22ND, IT WAS BACK ON AS NORMAL. TODAY MARCH 23RD AFTER WORK IT WAS NOT OPERATIONAL AGAIN. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE, THE LAST POST I HAD ON THIS SITE WAS WHEN I HAD A 2014 GMC ACADIA AND MY SON OVER HEATED FROM A VERY SIMILAR SITUATION. THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE YET ANOTHER GM MADE VEHICLE AND THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. GM NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE, NOT HAVING HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONING IN A FAMILY VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE WHO DEPENDS ON TRAVEL WITH THAT VEHICLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT ON THE THIRD ROW CENTER SEAT BELT FAILED TO UNLATCH. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL WHICH STATED "TO DISCONNECT THE REAR SAFETY BELT MINI LATCH, USING A KEY IN THE SLOT ON THE MINI BUCKLE AND LET BELT RETRACT TO THE HEADLINER. STOW THE MINI LATCH IN THE HOLDER IN THE HEAD LINER." IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, THE OCCUPANT OF THIS SEAT COULD BECOME ENTRAPPED IN THE SEAT IF THEY DID NOT HAVE AN OBJECT TO UNLATCH THE BUCKLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

  21. Electrical system, Feb 6, 2015

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MAY 2014. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN AUGUST 2014 PER GM RECALL NUMBER 14126 ON AUGUST 22, 2014. THE RECALL WAS TO REPROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, EVEN THOUGH I HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUSTER. AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE, THOUGH, THE SCREEN ON THE DASH PANEL OPERATED IN A DIFFERENT AND DANGEROUS MANNER. PRIOR TO THE RECALL, I KEPT THE SCREEN ON THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. PRIOR TO THE RECALL, WHEN I WOULD PLACE OR RECEIVE A CALL USING THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION, THE SCREEN WOULD SWITCH TO A PHONE SCREEN, BUT WHEN THE CALL ENDED, THE SCREEN IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO THE PRIOR SCREEN, SHOWING THE SPEEDOMETER. EVER SINCE THAT RECALL REPROGRAMMING, HOWEVER, AT THE END OF THE CALL, THE SCREEN STAY BLANK EXCEPT FOR THE WORD "PHONE", SO I HAVE TO PLAY AROUND WITH ALL OF THE SETTING OPTIONS (BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL) UNTIL I FIND THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER AGAIN. THIS IS A DISTRACTION TO MY DRIVING, AND IS A CLEAR ERROR IN THE REPROGRAMMING BY GM (OF WHAT POSSIBLE USE CAN A BLANK PHONE SCREEN BE?). AFTER I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER GAVE ME A COPY OF GM BULLETIN#PIT5285 ON THIS VERY ISSUE, DATED MAY 6, 2014 (BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR, AND CLEARLY NOT IMPLEMENTED ON THE CAR), SAYING THAT THIS IS A "NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE CAR. THAT IS A BLATANT FALSEHOOD, BECAUSE I DROVE IT FOR 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE REPROGRAMMING, AND "NORMAL" WAS AN IMMEDIATE RETURN TO THE PRIOR SCREEN, WHICH IN MY CASE WAS THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER. I HAVE TRIED APPEALS THROUGH GM, AND THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE FURTHER. GM HAS CREATED A DANGEROUS DISTRACTION, AND IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM. IT IS AN EASY ONE TO FIX; ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS TO REVERSE THEIR BLUNDER FROM THE EARLIER RECALL. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE RADIO BECAME INOPERATIVE AND THE AUDIBLE INDICATOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V301000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SEAT BELTS); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,700.

  23. Exterior lighting, Jan 25, 2015

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THERE IS A DISTINCT DARK SECTION OR LINE ACROSS THE UPPER ONE-HALF TO 3/4 OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE ONLY WAY TO SEE AT ALL IS TO DUCK YOUR HEAD UNDER IT, OR TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON BRIGHT. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER AND HE HAS NO INFORMATION ON THIS ISSUE. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT IT TO DATE. *TR

THERE IS A DRONE OR BUFFERING SOUND WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40-55 MPH. REGARDLESS OF THE ROAD QUALITY. THIS IS ON A 2015 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WAS A TIRE OUT OF BALANCE, BUT IT STILL MAKES THE SAME SOUND. *TR

  25. Engine, Jan 1, 2015

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 65 MPH THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BACK UP FOR APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES. IT NEEDED LESS THAN 20 GALLONS OF FUEL TO FILL IT UP. *JS
