    General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles equipped with 10 Speed Transmission with ETRS (Electronic Transmission Range Select). The transmission control valve may fail and lock up the rear wheels.

    Rear wheels that lock up while driving increase the risk of a crash.

    Dealers will install new transmission control module (TCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 7, 2026.     General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.

    Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.

    Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025.     General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

    DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.

    The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023.     General Motors, LLC (M) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with third-row seats. The rivet that retains the buckle to the mounting bracket in the left or right side third-row seat belt buckle assembly may have been improperly formed.

    A seat belt with a deformed rivet may not properly restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

    Dealers will inspect the rivet head formation on both the left and right side third-row seat belt buckle assemblies and replace seat belt buckle assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 28, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 1, 2022.     The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the engine cranked for 2 minutes and indicated that there was no oil pressure. The engine cranked over after several minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with rod-bearing failure and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The engine was replaced under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer repaired the vehicle. The vehicle engine seized but was able to be driven at a reduced speed. The failure mileage was 45,059.

    The contact's wife owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50-60 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that unknown engine valves had collapsed, and there was possible camshaft damage. The contact was advised that further diagnostic tests were required. The dealer informed the contact that a recall should be issued for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

    The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine warning light illuminated. While inspecting the oil level, the contact discovered that the oil level was extremely low. The contact added oil as needed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and five different tests were performed and each test produced varying results. The contact stated that on several tests, the oil level remained at a normal level, but on other tests, the oil level was extremely low. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Koepp Chevrolet, INC. (13221 U.S. Hwy 87 W, La Vernia, TX 78121); and similar results were received. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 63,800.

    The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle briefly lost motive power but quickly returned to normal functionality. Later, upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle immediately shut off and could to be restarted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the engine after observing metal shavings in the oil pan. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was unavailable.

    The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost power in the middle of the roadway. The contact was unable to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway with the rear wheels seized. The “Service Transmission” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the front brakes. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 73,000.

    The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000(Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and shuddered violently. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed. The dealer replaced the SN-L Pipe and installed an SN-L injector kit. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to another unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cylinder #7 injector and R/R Fuel Rail needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic oil shop, where the contact was informed that metal shavings were found in the oil filter and the oil level was significantly low. The vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred while driving, and the vehicle experienced excessive oil consumption. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact that the recall part was not yet available and an appointment could not be scheduled. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

    The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a red light, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted, and the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that later, while making a right turn, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic, who was unable to duplicate the failure or diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that a quart of engine oil was being added once per month.     The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and the contact informed that the system was being updated and was interrupted while attempting to start-up. While driving approximately 25-30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message “No Key Detected” was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the gateway serial data module. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,984. The VIN was not available.
