Seat belts, frontApr 8, 2021
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.
A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, wheel speed sensor/tone ringOct 24, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.
Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192261050.

Service brakes, hydraulic, power assist, vacuumSep 6, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.
As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192268490.

EquipmentApr 26, 2018
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, 2009 GMC Topkick 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series and Isuzu F Series, and 2009-2018 Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with certain Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. GM's number for this recall is 18146.

Air bags, frontalJul 10, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Steering, electric power assist systemJun 29, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers.
If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 10, 2017. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-432-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17276.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles and 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500, Trax, Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle, GMC Sierra 1500, Buick Encore, and 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Spark EV and SS vehicles. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

Seat beltsApr 12, 2016
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.
If the tensioner cable separates, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15822.

The overheated exhaust components may melt nearby plastic parts and may result in an engine fire.
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC at 1-800-462-8782. General Motors' number for this recall is 14008.

AIR CONDITIONING HOSE BETWEEN CONDENSER AND COMPRESSOR FAILED. NEEDS A BRACKET TO HOLD IT. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS BUT HAS NOT CALLED FOR RECALL. THEY CHARGE 700.00 TO FIX. VIRTUALLY ALL 2014 CHEVY AND GM TRUCKS ARE AFFECTED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GM. TRUCK HAD ONLY 60K MILES.
Other or unspecified, Aug 11, 2017
AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT IN APRIL 2017. DEALER REPLACED SCHRADER VALVE AND RELOADED REFRIGERANT. FAILED AGAIN IN A FEW DAYS. DEALER THEN TOLD ME GM HAD A DESIGN FAILER ON AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AND DID A NATIONWIDE RECALL OF THE A/C CONDENSOR. MY AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT REPAIRED UNTIL AUGUST 4, 2017 WHEN THE DEALER GOT THE A/C CONDENSOR. I NOT ONLY PAID $198 FOR THE ORIGINAL FIX, BUT ALSO $350 FOR THE FINAL FIX WHICH I CONTINUE TO MONITOR. ALL BECAUSE OF A DESIGN FAILURE ATTRIBUTED TO GM. WHY IS THIS MY PROBLEM AND WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY?

VEHICLE SHAKES EXCESSIVELY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SHAKING IS SO BAD THAT IT CAUSES SEATBELTS TO LOCK. MULTIPLE SETS OF TIRES AND BALANCING HAVE NOT SOLVED THE ISSUE.

TRUCK HAS STOPPED ON RANDOM OCCASIONS SINCE PURCHASED IN JULY 2017. BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS WHO HAVE YET TO DIAGNOSE ISSUE. SIMPLY LOSS OF STEERING AND ELECTRICAL POWER. EACH TIME IT GOES TO DEALER ,THEY CANNOT REPLICATE ERROR. COULD BE RELATED TO RECALL N172085440 BUT NOT SURE AT THIS POINT. HAVE A VIDEO OF LAST INSTANCE OF ISSUE ON AUGUST 5, 2017 BUT UNABLE TO LOAD.

WHILE PARKING VEHICLE I TRIED TO MAKE A SLIGHT RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF MY HAND UNDER EXTREME FORCE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN. AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPPED I TRIED TO TURN RIGHT A FEW MORE TIMES. EVERY TIME I DID THIS THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN ITSELF IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION ABOUT A QUARTER TURN AND THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF LIKE THE COMPUTER WAS RESETING. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START RIGHT AWAY, BUT DID AFTER TURNING THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION FOR A FEW SECONDS.

TAKATA RECALL AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER WENT OUT AND THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER THE DEALERSHIP EVEN EXPLAIN THAT THOUSANDS OF THESE MODEL TRUCKS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE
Other or unspecified, Aug 2, 2017
STARTED MY TRUCK ON 7/30/17 AND HAD NO COLD AIR BLOWING FROM THE VENTS. DROVE IT FOR THE DAY AND STILL NOTHING. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER ON 8/2/17 AND RECEIVED THE DIAGNOSIS OF A CRACKED AC CONDENSER. THE FIX IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR 6-8 WEEKS BECAUSE THERE IS A NATIONAL BACKORDER ON A REPLACEMENT CONDENSER FROM GMC. THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND NOT A WARE AND TEAR ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIPS WANT THE OWNERS TO PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH THEIR DESIGN IS AT FAULT TO BEGIN WITH.

CHROME WHEEL CORROSION. CRITICAL LOCATION AROUND VALVE STEM CREATING AIR LEAK IN VALVE STEM. COULD CREATE LOW ENOUGH PRESSURE TO EFFECT HANDLING IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. LUCKILY MINE WAS A SLOW LEAK, BUT THE ONLY FIX IS WHEEL REPLACEMENT AT EXTREME COST AND A LENGTHY REPLACEMENT PROCESS LEAVING THE OWNER WITH CHOICE OF UNSAFE USE, OR LOSING USE OF THE VEHICLE DURING THE PROCESS. INITIAL FIRST AID WAS TO CLEAN THE STEM HOLE OF CORROSION, USE A SEALANT AROUND THE NEW VALVE STEM, WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A SAFE FIX AND AN UPCOMING 2 WEEK TRIP TO UPPER ONTARIO CANADA IN FULLY LOADED VEHICLE.

THE AIR CONDITIONING STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR. IT WENT OUT IN JUNE ANDI HEAR NOW WONT BE FIXED UNTIL OCTOBER. IT IS UNSAFE TO HAVE YOUNG KIDS OR MY PARENTS IN THE CAR.

ROUNDING A CORNER AT LOW SPEED AND THE A/C COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP AND STALLED THE ENGINE. I LOST STEERING AND BRAKES NEARLY HIT A POLE. SEARCH FOR THIS ISSUE AND YOU WILL SEE THAT GM HAS A KNOWN ISSUE ON THE 2014 A/C UNITS THAT THEY ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED IN LATE MAY 2017. AC WENT OUT 1 WEEK LATER. VEHICLE HAS BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12K MILES. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOLSOM BUICK GMC AND FOUND "A/C CONDENSER LEAKING...RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT PARTS ON ORDER" PART NUMBER 84211191. I WAS ADVISED PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. GOING ON 45 DAYS WITH NO AC, AS THE PART IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. IN SACRAMENTO, CA WHERE DAILY IT IS 90 DEGREES WITH MANY DAYS OVER 100 DEGREES AND SOME DAYS OVER 105 DEGREES. AS THIS IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF HEAT ON THE BODY WHILE DRIVING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. I ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE SURE I HAVE ENOUGH COLD WATER IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FEAR OF PASSING OUT FROM DEHYDRATION.

IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS AND NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN ISSUED AND MEANWHILE MY VECHILE IS STUCK AT DEALERS WHILE I AM STUCK WITH PAYMNTS AND ZERO SOLUTION TO FIX MY VECHILE AND NO IDEA HOW MUCH LONGER IT WILL BE BEFORE IT IS REPAIRED

I CURRENTLY OWN A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 WITH 55,000 MILES.ON MAY 15 2017 THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING AN AC CONDENSER AT GREINER BUICK GMC BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR. WE WERE TOLD THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED AND THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN IT ARRIVED TO BE INSTALLED. THAT FOLLOWING DAY WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP STATING THAT THE AC CONDENSER IS UNAVAILABLE AND THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ETA BECAUSE THE PART WAS BACKORDERED. ABOUT A WEEK HAD PAST, AND BEING FRUSTRATED WITH HAVING NO AC , LIVING IN 110 DEGREE WEATHER AND DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH A 2 MONTH OLD AND 4 YEAR OLD CHILD, I WAS DESPERATE TO HAVE IT FIXED. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS DIRECTLY TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE PART AND SEE IF THEY COULD HELP ME. AFTER SPEAKING TO THE REPRESENTATIVE, I GOT NO ANSWERS BESIDES THEY ARE "WORKING ON IT." SHE TOLD ME THIS WAS A NATIONWIDE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE TRYING TO GET THE PART AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I TOLD HER MY SITUATION AND THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH NO AC AND THE CLIMATE I LIVE IN AND SHE TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING OR EXPEDITE GETTING THE PART. MY HUSBAND AND I LOOKED INTO GETTING AN AFTERMARKET CONDENSER AND THOSE TOO ARE UNAVAILABLE. WE DID RESEARCH AND THERE ARE TONS OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE AC CONDENSER BREAKING IN THE GMC SIERRAS AND CHEVY SILVERADO MODELS AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT RECALLING IT. THIS PART RARELY FAILS IN A VEHICLE, UNLESS IT IS DAMAGED. IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE, AND IS UNAVAILABLE EVEN TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS. STILL, 2 MONTHS LATER OUR VEHICLE STILL HAS NO AC AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO HELP US.
Other or unspecified, Jul 20, 2017
AIR CONDITIONER FAILS BECAUSE OF FAULTY CONDENSER, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM SINCE A REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE BECAUSE OF THE DEMAND. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE SENDING VEHICLES TO 3RD PARTIES TO HAVE THE CONDENSER REPAIRED. THIS REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL RELATED TO THE EPS ASSIST. THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (BUICK GMC IN BEAVERTON, OR) AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

MY TRUCK LOSES POWER STEERING WHEN TURNING LEFT AND PRACTICALLY COMES TO A STOP MID TURN. IT TAKES APPROX. 5 SECONDS TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE TURN. STABILITRAK NOTIFICATIONS CONSTANTLY ALERT ON THE DASH FOR TRACTION CONTROL, STEERING ASSIST, ETC AND WHEN DOING SLOW MANEUVERING THE A/C, STEREO, AND STEERING ASSIST SHUTDOWN FOR A SPLIT SECOND. RECALL IS OPEN UNDER N172085440 FOR 2 WEEKS NOW AND I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THESE SAME SAFETY STEERING ISSUES WAITING FOR THE FIX TO BE PUBLISHED FOR THIS RECALL. PLEASE EXPEDITE THE RECALL FIX ASAP!!

AIR CONDITIONER NOT WORKING. AC CONDENSER HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK. IN DOING RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR GM VEHICLES OF THE MODEL AND THE LIKE, BUT GM HAS ALSO PULLED ALL CONDENSERS FROM THE SHELVES BUT WILL NOT DO A RECALL TO ADDRESS THE DEFECTIVE CONDENSER.

WHEN I AM MAKING LEFT TURNS MY STABILITRAK WARNING GOES OFF AND LOCKS UP MY STEERING WHEEL AND WON'T ALLOW ME TO TURN AND JERKS THE WHEEL WHICH HAS CAUSED A DISLOCATED THUMB AND JAMMED FINGERS, IT ALSO POWERS DOWN MY ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WITH SOME SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T-BONED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO IT POWERING DOWN AND NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN. I HAVE CALLED THE GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE RECALL. IT'S GOING TO BE A HEFTY LAWSUIT ON THEIR HANDS WHEN SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIES BECAUSE THEIR STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. EARLY JUNE IS WHEN I STARTED NOTICING THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN GETTING WORSE!
