General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, 3500, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have been repaired incorrectly under recall 24V797. The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock up.
Rear wheel lock up increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the vehicles and update the transmission control software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 6, 2026. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with chrome front grille deflectors. The attachments that hold the front grille deflectors in place may fracture, resulting in grille detachment.
A detached front grille deflector may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. General Motors (GM) has decided that certain 2022 model year Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with an accessory sport bar. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
An inoperative high-mounted brake light can reduce visibility to other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters advising owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 10, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 27, 2023. The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware of an abnormal roaring sound coming from under the hood. The contact stated that the abnormal roaring sound was persistent and became louder over time. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000. The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while accelerating to 70 MPH to overtake a dump truck, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled. During the failure, the message "Transmission in Neutral" was displayed and the vehicle coasted to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced along with the oil delivery system. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact was informed of NHTSA Action Number: PE25001; and indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the investigation. The failure mileage was 20,016.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with crankshaft sensor failure. The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer for the repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred while driving to the dealer. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with crankshaft sensor failure. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that upon picking up the vehicle from the dealer, while driving 80 MPH, the failure recurred. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 39,400.
