  1. Power train, Jul 29, 2026

My truck is at the dealership for a failed transmission valve body. I was doing some research on this issue and saw recall N242454441. I asked the service writer about this and he said my truck was not covered by the recall. I had all of the same issues as described in the recall. effects can cause harsh shifting, setting a service engine soon message, reduced engine performance or P0747 diagnostic trouble code. I was driving along when the check engine light came on then a message on the dash said reduced power mode. I barely made it to work then called the dealership and told them I was bringing it in if I could make it. When I tried to take it to the dealership the rear wheels seemed to be locked up when in drive but would move in reverse. After coasting forward in neutral then reversing the wheels seemed to unlock in drive but then I didn’t have reverse. I have the same drive train with the 10 speed transmission. I think this recall needs to be expanded to include my truck as well as countless others for this known issue.

  2. Engine, Jul 28, 2026

I Purchased the vehicle on May 29, 2026 and it stated the 6.2 liter engine recall had been fixed and that I have extended special coverage for the exact issue of the recall until 150008 miles on this vehicle. On July 14, 2026 the vehicle was being driven and stalled out at a traffic light and restarted, yet within a quarter mile it stalled again at the next traffic light and became completely disabled, it would not even allow a shift into nuetral, so I had it towed less than 100 feet into the Walmart on Loudon Road in Concord, NH 03301 parking lot. On July 23, 2026 I was able to get the batter charged and attach a code scanner which showed one code (P0016). Pursuant to Recall N252494001 (which had allegedly been repaired, likely with the bandaid fix of thicker oil) any 6.2 liter GM truck with the loss of propulsion needs to be plugged into a scanner and if code P0016 is present, engine replacement is needed. Specifically noted to the recall is Special coverage N252494003 which provides the coverage to 150,008 miles on this vehicle is directly related to the recall. At the time of loss of propulsion the vehicle had 99,195 miles present on the odometer. The following day July 24, 2026 I had the vehicle towed to Banks Chevrolet GMC in Concord NH, after the vehicle arrived, I spoke with the service department, provided them with the recall paperwork and printout of the special coverage uner the vin as well as a photo of the odometer and my scanner displayining one code P0016. They then informed me it would take them until August 24, 2026 to "diagnose" the vehicle. The recall is clear it just needs a code scan if disabled. I have contacted GM and informed them of the need for a loaner as the vehicle is a vehicle utilized for business. I have since been told they will try to look at it earlier and no loaner will be offered but I "may" be able to be reimbusred $44.00 a day for a rental. There are no rentals for that price that can tow over 9500 pounds. It is unnacceptable.

  3. Other or unspecified, Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Jul 27, 2026

Upper front grill trim piece was repaired under recall. After being fixed I was driving and it broke off flying up in the air and behind the truck. It did not hit another vehicle. Adaptive cruise control stopped working. Lane assist stopped working. Brake pad wear sensor error message stating it doesn't work. Vehicle has 19,000 miles.

  4. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 26, 2026

While driving enroute to a concert in [XXX]., in the passing lane on [XXX] around [XXX] & just before exit 22(mile marker 21) during rush hour on 7-23 at 5.09pm, my truck abruptly lost power and shut off! It would not start, I could not engage "N" from "P" to attempt to push my truck to the far left side of the highway. This was a "VERY DANGEROUS" situation as I could have been rear ended or much worse! I immediately called SOS/ON STAR for assistance. In the meantime, a police officer and state troopers showed up to divert the traffic around my truck. Eventually, a "HERO" vehicle showed up and at the direction of the police, my truck was "DRAGGED" from the passing lane to the emergency lane. As for getting a tow truck, 1 finally showed up after 5+ hours. I found out the you all have a contract with "AAA", which is the worse when it comes to getting any assistance. I was towed back to [XXX] to South Town GMC dealership & arrived at 11.25pm. It was only the next morning that I received an email from OnStar dated 7-23 at 5.07pm, with an "Advance Diagnostics" advising of a critical issue with the engine & transmission. The code was: P129F, which is the fuel pump and/or module. My truck now sits at the dealership with a dead battery, waiting for them to address. I have heard that there are issues and recalls in certain vehicles with this similar issue. I do have "extended warranty" protection thru Ally that I bought. However, the shock is finding out that the only way to get it into "N" is a special dealer tool that goes into the transmission under my truck! Are you SERIOUS??????? To have no ability to put my truck into "N" is not only unacceptable, but extremely dangerous. Especially with what happened to me & my family. At this point, I am at the mercy of my dealership to find the time to address this issue. Until then, I have no transportation & very upset with the stress of all that happened! 5. Service brakes, Jul 19, 2026

Truck did not stop when applying brakes. Message displayed brake system failure and the breaks were spongy. The truck was towed to the dealer and required the master cylinder, gasket, and reservoir to be replaced with 23,403 miles. This appears to be an ongoing issue with GMC Sierra trucks and needs further investigation as this potential could be catastrophic. Also, as this appears to be an ongoing issue, owners should not be responsible for the cost associated with any repairs and should require an immediate recall.

  6. Engine, Jul 15, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving uphill at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and failed to return to normal operation. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced; however, parts to repair the vehicle were unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

  7. Other or unspecified, Jul 15, 2026

The upper part of the grill was rattling while I was on a 270 mile road trip. I stopped, inspected it, and found multiple mounting points cracked. I did not feel it was safe to continue driving with it being so loose so I installed four zip ties to continue my trip back home. Safety recall N242490120 had already been completed which means this is the second time the plastic clips on the grill have failed.

  8. Structure, Jul 9, 2026

1 year after having the grill deflector piece being replaced on my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X, under the recall. The new grill deflector became detached and flew off my vehicle. Clearly, the recall fix by GMC did not work.

  9. Power train, Jul 8, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while merging onto the interstate at approximately 65 MPH, the rear wheels unexpectedly locked up without warning. The contact stated that the rear wheels remained locked for approximately half a second, causing a sudden reduction in speed and requiring the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was driven to a relative's residence and was then towed to a dealer. The dealer had not diagnosed the failure, and no repairs had been performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was advised that there would be a follow-up. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

  10. Structure, Jul 7, 2026

On July 3,2026 I was driving my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 on the highway at a speed of 70mph when the front chrome deflector flew off my vehicle. It tore paint off the hood, and also cracked my windshield. I searched online and noticed this had a safety recall for this issue. I see the recall was done in January 2026, AND has failed completely. I still have the service records of previous repair. GM is giving me issues on finding a remedy to fix this.

  11. Engine, Jul 4, 2026

My gmc sierra had no warning lights, on the way to work on the highway it started making noises which increase every mile .Vehicle just turned 60.049miles . Engine completely seized up , low oil pressure light on , vehicle shuts off , luckily making to the shoulder and off the road. Gm towing wasn't any help in middle of the winter with 0° outside that morning , they told me that it's not covered under warranty and it would take 3 hrs for towing to get to me and out of my packet cost . Dealer diagnosed issue , found code P0016 (crankshaft position-intake camshaft position not plausible) also found excessive amounts of metal in the oil. Vehicle was repaired and second engine was installed .

  12. Structure, Jun 27, 2026

The grill deflector near the hood flew off on the highway … took it to the dealership and they only have a recall for the Chrome 22 gmc sierra grill deflector for the same issue but not the elevation black ..no Warning lamps or lights it flew out of know where no warranty to cover it

  13. Structure, Jun 26, 2026

Bezel flew off on highway. Subsequently, dealer service had to replace both the bezel and grill bc of how it was attached. For some reason the vin was not included in a recall of 70K trucks that were same year make and model as mine. I would like to be included in the recall.

  14. Engine, Jun 23, 2026

Loud knocking noise started while motor is running. Took to dealer who confirmed the noise and inspected. Metal confirmed in the oil pan and throughout motor. Service advisor said a new motor will be needed and has sent info to GM. This vehicle was checked per the recall and passed the pico test. Oil was changed to new GM 0-40 by dealer.

  15. Power train, Engine, Jun 18, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V797000 (Power Train). While the contact’s husband was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle stalled, the rear wheels locked up, and the vehicle decelerated until coming to a full stop. The engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to dealer and was diagnosed with transmission control valve failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,400.

  16. Electrical system, Engine, Jun 16, 2026

I was driving at 45 mph and all of a sudden the screens went black as if the truck was turned off and the first thing I did was turn on the hazards because I didn’t know if the engine shut off either there was on coming traffic from both my front and back so I was scared my truck shut off 5-7 seconds later the screens turned back on and everything went back to normal but I was scared that my truck just turned off I made the dealership aware of this issue as soon as I pulled over and they said they had a busy schedule and that they would try to have a manager reach out to me to “squeeze me in” Mind you I just got my truck back from the dealership due to electrical issues and service yesterday and not even 24 hours later this happened so I am upset.

  17. Power train, Electrical system, Jun 10, 2026

Was driving down the road at 35 mph and the truck started to shake and the the transmission shifted really hard check engine light came on. Pulled over truck wouldn’t go into reverse and wouldn’t shift correctly. Had my truck towed home called the dealership they said I will need to have it towed in. Several days later the check engine light was off I took the truck around the block it was running okay. Drove it the next day it did the same thing shook really bad shifted hard and wouldn’t shift correctly my go I took reverse. Had it towed to the dealership. The dealership said it was the same problem they are having on other trucks with this same transmission truck is out of warranty and GM will not cover the cost to fix it.

  18. Electrical system, Jun 8, 2026

The Telematics Control Module failed - it no longer functions. This affects the ability to use OnStar services, such as navigation assistance, but especially OnStar emergency services which would be needed in case of a vehicle crash or other emergency. OnStar no longer works due to the module failure. There is a backlog of at least several months, or longer, before a new module is available. Many people complain that the replacement module often fails within a few months,

  19. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jun 5, 2026

On November 20, 2025, my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine began experiencing intermittent engine overheating conditions. Concerned about a potential safety issue, I contacted a GMC dealership and was advised that because no diagnostic trouble codes were present, there was nothing to diagnose or repair and that I should continue driving the vehicle. Over the following months, the overheating condition continued intermittently. On May 24, 2026, while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly overheated, displayed fault code P1098, and entered reduced power ("limp mode"). The vehicle lost normal performance and acceleration while traveling in traffic. This created a significant safety hazard because the vehicle was unable to maintain normal highway speeds, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or other traffic accident. The loss of power occurred while driving and without sufficient warning, leaving the vehicle unable to safely perform as expected in highway traffic. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other GMC and Chevrolet owners describing similar overheating, coolant control valve, thermal management system, and P1098-related failures. Many owners report symptoms involving engine overheating, reduced engine power, and limp mode operation while driving. I am concerned that this may indicate a broader defect involving the vehicle's cooling system and thermal management components. The vehicle exhibited overheating symptoms for approximately six months before the final failure occurred. Additionally, I understand that certain GM vehicles have been subject to service actions involving coolant control valves and thermal management system components. Given the similarity of symptoms, I am concerned that the overheating condition reported in November 2025 may be related to the same type of failure mechanism, yet my vehicle has not been included in any recall or special coverage program.

  20. Engine, Jun 4, 2026

On June 1, 2026 driving eastbound on I-64 in Louisville, KY. Engine shut-off warning popped up and engine immediately shut off. There were no prior warnings or unusual engine or noises. 3 passengers in car. Had to change 2 lanes and then onto shoulder while coasting and slowing down. Car was incapacitated and gave battery and 0% oil read. Oil is changed regularly and engine recall work had been performed on truck several months prior. Car at dealership, not analyzed or repaired yet.

  21. Power train, Jun 3, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated upon shifting to park(P) and attempting to turn off the vehicle, the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. The contact waited and attempted to park and turn off the vehicle again, and the vehicle responded after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the shifter assembly needed to be replaced due to internal short to the solenoid not allowing the vehicle to detect that it was in park(P). The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

  22. Structure, Jun 1, 2026

On 05/30/26, During normal operation of my vehicle (2022 GMC Sierra Elevation) at about 50MPH the Upper Grille Molding became detached while on the Highway. The safety of other cars or motorcycles was placed at risk because the part could have impaled or impacted myself through a windshield or someone driving behind me. The problem has been known to exist in other similar models and an existing recall does exist for those models (N242490120 Chrome Grille Deflector May Detach). On 06/01/26 the vehicle was taken to a Kelly Buick GMC, INC where it was assessed. According to the representative, even though I have not been the only one to report the problem with a different model than that specified on the recall number, they refused to cover the cost of repairs because my VIN does not fall into the recall specifications. Absolutely no other symptoms were noted prior to the part failure no rattling, whistling or any visible signs.

  23. Power train, May 30, 2026

The transmission on the vehicle failed, it is currently sitting at a GMC dealership awaiting repair. However the valve body is on back order and there is no time table for repair to occur. My family and my safety was put at risk not knowing that the 10 speed transmission could result in rear tire lockup while on the highway, also the inability to put the truck in reverse to back away from any potential hazard. The problem was confirmed by GMC of Attleboro Mass. The vehicle was inspected by technicians at said dealership. There were no prior warnings, however the truck did feel hesitant to shift on the highway a week or two prior to failure.

  24. Power train, Engine, May 27, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle decelerated unintendedly and failed to exceed 50 MPH on several occasions. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the message " Reduced Acceleration - Drive With Care" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, and the OnStar sensors, the fuel injectors and 8 spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who retrieved DTCs: P0747, indicating a pressure control solenoid A stuck on failure, and P0700, indicating a transmission control module failure. The dealer determined that the failure was related to GM Special Coverage Number: N242454441 (Momentary Rear Wheel Lock-Up); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance in adding the VIN to the Special Coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

  25. Structure, May 25, 2026

I was driving, my front grill protector that was fixed with recall flew off again. This needs to be fixed. The part flew off hit my window and almost hit two cars that were behind me. This could of resulted in a bad accident. No warnings, it just happened.
