Vehicle speed control, accelerator pedalOct 10, 2019
Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Accelerator Pedal Assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Acura TL and TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot and 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline vehicles. Steering, hydraulic power assist, hose, piping, and connectionsMay 17, 2012
Honda is recalling certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL and model year 2003-2007 Accord V6 vehicles. In May 2012, Honda filed a defect report to recall certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL vehicles. In September 2012, Honda informed the agency that it was including an additional 573,147 vehicles including certain model year 2003 through 2007 Accord V6 vehicles. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 625,762. Prolonged under-hood and power steering fluid temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely, resulting in cracks and power steering fluid leakage.
If this occurs, power steering fluid can leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke and possibly an under-hood fire.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose, free of charge. The original recall began in June 2012, and owners of those vehicles may obtain the free remedy. Sufficient parts are not yet available for owners of the vehicles covered by the September 2012 expansion, but are expected to be available in early 2013. Honda will notify owners of these vehicles beginning on October 26, 2012, and will notify these owners again when parts are available so those vehicles can be brought to dealers for applications of the free remedy. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.

THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION.
THIS COULD RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. ENGINE STALL AND UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF A ROLLING VEHICLE.

The vehicle was taken to two Honda dealerships apon noticing the D light blinking on the dashboard after reaching highway speeds. Also started getting worse overtime, currently when starting up, and putting into drive, nothing happens, and after a few seconds it will plurge forward into gear on its own. Down shifting when braking is rough and delayed also. Ive addressed this issue with Honda, and they just look my vin number and tell me there is no recall and id have to pay $200 out of pocket simply to run a diagnostic, when I know this should be covered under their recall as all symptoms are matching their current recalls for this vehicle. Also accomanied sometimes with a check engine light indicating the O2 Sensor connected to the catalater converter is having a delayed reaction. Also the airbag red light is always steady illuminated. This vehicle has never been in a crash and is very well maintained and Id like to keep it that way by addressing this issues accordingly in a timely manner. Thank you, Kindly.

While driving down street, both curtain airbags deployed sporadically with absolutely no cause. I was not hit anywhere and I was not even using my brakes or slowing to a stop. My head got smashed in and my view was completely obstructed. I was able to pull off road to safety.

I was ran off the road by another driver on March 8, 2024. I honked so that they would know I was there and then swerved as they continued to come towards me. As this happened, I lost control of my vehicle and it fishtailed on the highway, doing a complete 180° and going from 70 mph to 0 mph as I crashed into a concrete barrier on the shoulder of the road. The airbags did not deploy. My car will likely be totaled and because of its age, we will not keep it. It will not be available for inspection. My safety was put as risk because my airbags did not deploy. Thankfully, in this instance, I was not harmed but I could’ve been. The problem was not confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was inspected by police and is currently undergoing inspection by insurance. There were no warning signs of this failure.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The left passenger seatbelt will not retract - supposed to be a lifetime warranty and as a result airbag indicator light is on, so I take it to the dealer and they tell me seatbelts are on back order and they said it could be months or even years before I get a seatbelt and there is no ETA for it to arrive. So now, I have to drive the vehicle with no seatbelt and non-working airbags risking tickets or worse loss of life. This is unacceptable. What is the point of a lifetime warranty .
Air bags, Feb 15, 2023, crash
The 2006 Honda Accord VP Sedan was hit in an intersection by a Van that was trying to speed through a red light. The van hit the Accord on the front of the car, which spun the Accord causing it to hit the van again in the rear passenger side. The Accord has 6 airbags, but none of them went off. It appears that the front airbags should have went off, and possibly the passenger side airbags. I contacted Honda about the issue, but they insisted that I follow the direction that the insurance company determined.

Air bags, Oct 11, 2022
The passenger air bag indicator light stays illuminated. The car has been taken to several different mechanics who temporarily are able to make the light go away but that say that this is an issue they have seen with different 2006 Honda Accords and the it is a defective factory sensor. Tony Honda in Oahu HI has said that because they do not show a recall for this vehicle, it would be an out of pocket cost. It seems that this is a safety issue because it is unsure whether there is a problem with the airbag itself and not just the sensor. Please advise

At this time myself and the passenger are noticing a ringing in our ears. I myself have a tiny split in my lower lip. I FILED A RECALL CLAIM WITH AMERICAN HONDA. THE CASE NUMBER IS 11536174. THIS WAS FOR A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. ALSO, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION STALLS AND DECELERATES WHEN GETTING ABOVE 25 RPM. AMERICAN HONDA SAID THIS ISSUE WAS A RECALL BUT APPEARED TO BE "FIXED" A FEW YEARS AGO. BUT SINCE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE FIXED. JASON, AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME IT WOULD BE "TAKEN CARE OF" BUT THEN, TRIED TO BILL ME $150 FOR "DIAGNOSTIC" FEES PLUS THEN TOLD THE PARTS AND LABOR WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $800.WE WERE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR AN 20 MINUTES AFTER DROPPING OFF THE CAR, WE WERE CALLED TO SAY THE CAR WAS READY. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE. THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WAS STILL LOCKED. THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO UNLOCK IT TO MAKE THE AIRBAG REPAIR. AMERICAN HONDA TOLD ME THE ENTIRE CANISTER IN THE AIR BAG AREA HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS NEW AIR BAGS INSTALLED. MISLTIN HONDA SCREWED US! THEY ALSO SAID THESE 2 REPAIRS WOULD TAKE 6 HOURS. THEY FRAUDULENLY BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR 6 HOURS AND DID NOTHING! THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE OLD PARTS TO SHOW ANYTHING WAS DONE! MY CAR REMAINS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO NOT DEPLOY AND THE TRANSMISSION TO STALL, CAUSING A CRASH! I'D LIKE MY SERVICE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY HONDA IN MANTECA, PLEASE. MISSION ALSO BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR OUR RENTAL. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GAS PEDAL..A PART OR COMPUTER ISSUE.

MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED DURING MY MORNING COMMUTE. THERE WAS NO COLLISION, NO POTHOLE, NO BUMP, AND NO SUDDEN STOP. THERE WAS NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. THE SUDDEN EXPLOSION CAUSED ME TO SWERVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A BRIDGE, BUT THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED.

I TOOK MY CAR FOR THE RECALL AND NOW THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF AND OCCASIONALLY WILL STAY ON. I TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHO CHARGED ME $150 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TO SAY IT'S A SHORT OR SOMETHING NOW IN THE SAME PASSENGER AIR BAG THEY INSTALLED. IT WILL COST $300 TO FIX. SEEMS LIKE OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE SO IS THIS A SCAM? THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AND I NEED A REFUND OF THE MONEY I'VE PAID.

MY DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IS ALREADY DEPLOYED. WHEN I CALLED MY HONDA DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE THE PASSENGER SIDE, I ASKED IF THE DRIVER SIDE WOULD ALSO BE DONE. THE REP SAID THAT IT WOULD. WHEN I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $250.00 TO HAVE IT DONE. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS. THE DATE OF 05/01/2015 IS A GUESS.

HONDA ACKNOWLEDGES SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. LIGHT REMAINS ON WHENEVER VEHICLE IS RUNNING INDICATING THAT AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. LAST RECALL PERFORMED
