  3. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 19, 2024

My fuel injectors went bad and my engine shut down while I was on the highway, only allowing me to drive 5mph.

  4. Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 19, 2024

On July 4th while driving 60 miles on the highway, my car had a sudden loss of power. I had to pull over to the side of the road and have my car towed back home due to feeling unsafe to drive the vehicle. I went to Auto Zone the next day and the code scanner said misfire cylinder 2. SO I went to a nearby mechanic shop and had them replace the spark plugs and cylinder 2. I was unaware they did not use Honda parts. My car drove a little better but still had issues maintaining speed intermittently. So I paid a different mechanic shop to diagnose my vehicle for $130. They recommended replacing sparks plugs a cylinder to Honda parts. Then also recommended replacing my fuel injectors. I waited on my next step since I did not have funds for those repairs. After picking up the vehicle, all warning lights up on my car daily. A few days later, my 18 year old daughter was driving my car and had a sudden loss of power at night while driving on busy I10. I had her stop and restart vehicle and drive to the next exit to get off the highway and home safely. The next day, I purchased the Honda spark plugs and cylinder and had a a mechanic in our neighborhood install them. he did let me know that that may not be the only issue. I had two more instances where my car would not go more than 10 miles an hour our of a parking lot so I researched recalls and became aware of the fuel pump recall. The next day, I went to Honda dealership and paid $190 to have my vehicle diagnosed. My fuel pump was functioning fine but all 4 fuel injectors were failing. SO I agree to have the seatbelt recall completed and the fuel pump recall installed. Then paid $190 diagnostics plus fuel injectors to be replaced. I had to get a loan from Honda to pay for these repairs as I already paid hundreds trying to figure out correct issue and I still make monthly car payments. The dashboard warning lights have stopped after repairs at Honda My car has been running better but now seems to have a rough idle.

  5. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 19, 2024, crash

two weeks after I purchased this vehicle the electrical system failed causing the car to drive in the ditch, Land Rover of mount Kisco, ny sold me the vehicle, after multiple attempts to find out what was going on with it, it was found that someone had rigged the electrical wiring harness and wrapped it with electrical tape and taped it down causing the electrical system to malfunction, after that was repaired in august 2023 the car veered off the road again this time hitting a speed limit sign the damage was on the side of the vehicle but the vehicle would not move at all and all the lights were on again, the police stated where the damage is on the car it should not had caused the car to do what it was doing after I explained I was just driving along and the vehicle just went its own way, I told the insurance company about the previous issues, they repaired the car and that's it, I got the car back 24 hrs later all the lights came back on the dashboard, they still could not figure it out this was in September of 23, by December 23 the lights came back on the Honda dealership said it was the fuel pump this was because the lights came back on and the car stalled on the interstate almost causing a collision so I had to have it towed to the dealership, I paid $1300 only to find out Honda had a recall the dealership said it was the same part number and advised me to contact Honda for a reimbursement in which Honda has refused to reimburse me after to attempts, as I looked at the recalls on this car this car has had two different recalls on the fuel pump for this vehicle, that was repaired drove the car for 4 weeks the lights came on the dashboard again, I took it back to the dealership they said its the turbo booster, I am convinced the dealership who sold me this vehicle knew this vehicle was not in any condition to be on the road with a family in it, I have asked Honda to buy the car back they have refused, this car cannot be repaired.

  6. Power train, Engine, Sep 18, 2024

These Accords are an extreme safety hazzard. Experienced an instant loss of power and without any prior warning signs. Once the issue accured the vehicle was impossible to drive putting the vehicle occupants and everyone on the road at risk. Now Honda does not want to fix the problem because they feel that would be an admission of guilt. This is not the first I've heard of this issue with these vehicles and I'm sure it will not be the last please help push these vehicles for a safety recall before more people get hurt.

  9. Engine, Sep 16, 2024

3 days and 26 miles after picking up my car following the repair for the issue reported in NHTSA issue #11614854, my car again displayed a bunch of various errors on the dashboard and threw P0300, P0301, and P0304 codes via OBDII. I dropped off the car at the dealership and they report that the issue this time is bad fuel injectors. This car has now had 2 major premature powertrain failures before reaching 70k miles that can result in loss of power while operating the vehicle. Losing power on the highway is a serious safety issue so I wanted to report this to the NHTSA for your records.

  10. Engine, Sep 16, 2024

My head gasket went out while I was driving down the road at around 68425 miles. The result was that the car threw a bunch of error codes and went into limp mode while on the highway. I was fortunately able to pull off into a parking lot due to low traffic at that time of day but it was a major road that is full of vehicles during a busy time of day. This was a safety issue because my car effectively lost power and I was stuck coasting on a road where traffic regularly travels between 45-50+ mph. The head gasket failure was confirmed by the local Honda dealer and was replaced under warranty (certified pre-owned).

  14. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Sep 12, 2024

My 2018 Honda According Touring 1.5 Liter Turbo has an intermittent problem with the vehicle’s warning alerts. The vehicle systems affected include Adaptive Cruise Control, Vehicle Emission System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Vehicle Stability Assistance, Hill Start Assist, Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Blind Spot Info System, and Collision Mitigation System. When I checked online for other 2018 Accords with a similar problem and found numerous cases. The most commonly recommended corrective action was to replace the battery. I tried that. It corrected the problem for two months, but the same multiple systems failure displays have occurred again. Interestingly, none of the systems that could be independently checked (e.g., brakes and TPMS) showed any indication of actually malfunctioning. There are multiple cases online, reported by 2018 Accord owners, of receiving different explanations from Honda dealers as to the cause of the malfunction from rodent damage to problems with the turbocharger. Several people reported paying for repairs that did not correct the problem or did so only temporarily.

My 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 turbo (original owner) 77,000 miles. Started having numerous warning lights on dash and vehicle was violently shaken. On several occasions, vehicle had no acceleration over 10mph which caused me to have several close calls on the highway. Took it to Honda dealer and they stated that I had a blown head gasket and the repairs would cost five thousand eight hundred dollars! Unfortunately i have read numerous posts on Honda forums and hundreds of customers with the same vehicle year and model are also reporting the same problems. Honda will not pay for any repairs since it is past warranty. This needs to be upgraded to a recall by Honda, very upset customer!

The car is not starting properly, it takes a couple of tries to start, and the instrument panel lights come on. It appears that the Honda dealership in Doylestown PA does not have the part needed to repair my car and my safety is at risk and I don't feel comfortable driving the car. Can you please advise the dealership's responsibility in providing me a loaner car until the part is available? I have an appointment next week where I will leave the car until the part is available.
