  3. Seats, front assembly, reclinerFeb 16, 2023

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 CR-V vehicles. The front passenger seat back frame may not have been welded properly, which can cause the seat back position to fail in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."

A seat back position that fails may not adequately restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

I had an appointment today with Southern motors Honda in Savannah, Georgia at 9 AM. Due to a snowstorm yesterday they were unable to do the repair today. We were not notified of this and my husband drove an hour in icy conditions to get this recall repaired. They told him they do not know when they can get the repair done. When I called on Tuesday to try to reschedule due to the incoming snowstorm, she replied that someone will call me because their recalls schedules were out as far as June. Meaning I would not be able to get the repair done until June. I asked her if my car was still safe to drive and she said she could not confirm that. No one returned my call. I will be driving my car on Saturday to go on vacation in Florida. Will my car be OK to drive? 6. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jan 23, 2025

While driving the Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged for no reason. I was driving on [XXX] in NJ when another car passed me on the right . My car slammed the brakes on. The other car did not get in front of me but stayed in the right lane. If traffic was heavy this could have caused a major accident. Another instance I was driving on [XXX]. in Manahawkin, NJ and going around a bend in the road there was a parked car. My car slammed the brakes on. This has happened several other times also for no reason. Each time a warning sound went off. I brought the car in for service and reported it to Honda. They inspected it doing some type of scan and said there was no problem. The service advisor showed me how to turn the system off if I didn't feel safe. Yes my car is available for inspection and I am attaching the service report showing I did report it. I'm writing you because I read an article showing you are looking into this in other Honda cars and my car is not listed. 8. Steering, Jan 21, 2025

I brought my 2023 Honda CR-V into my local dealership on December 7, 2024 to address a “creaking” noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. Upon checking in with the service adviser, I was advised that my vehicle had 2 active safety recalls - the fuel pump, and the EPS gear box. I received an email from the dealership with an “inspection video” attached. Within the video, the technician states, “As far as the noise concern that you’re having, the only creaking noise I was able to hear, was the noise from the electronic brake motor, which is a normal characteristic of this vehicle… couldn’t find anything else going on”. Upon picking up my vehicle, I was advised the same by the service adviser, and was further advised that someone would be calling me as soon as the part came in to fix the EPS recall. On January 17, 2025, I called the dealership to inquire about when they anticipated on being able to fix the recall, as it had been approximately 6 weeks since I was advised that someone would be calling me when the part arrived. During this phone call, I was advised that the part had been steadily in stock for the past couple of weeks, and that I could bring in my vehicle anytime to fix the recall. On January 18, 2025, I brought my vehicle back to the dealership for the repair of the recall, and further explained to the service adviser that I was still hearing the “creaking” noise, as well as a “metallic” clicking noise coming from the steering wheel upon hard left turns. Approximately 5 hours later, I received a call from the service adviser explaining that the technician was able to identify both noises that I had described, and while they were able to replace the recalled part, it did not resolve the issue, and that my vehicle was in need of a steering rack replacement. She further explained that they were not authorized to replace the steering rack under the terms of the safety recall, and that the part is not covered under the factory warranty.

  9. Steering, Jan 20, 2025

The manufacturer is unable to complete my EPS gearbox worm wheel recall work within 60 days and am filing a complaint per the instructions on the letter. The Honda dealer I contacted was Brookdale Honda in Brookdale Minnesota.

  10. Steering, Jan 20, 2025

I received 1st recall notice in Nov 2025. Part has been unavailable until now. Received email from dealer on 1/15/25 saying part was available and to schedule appt for repair. I called and next appointment was on 3/31/25. This is more than the 60 days allowed in the original recall notice. The car is unsafe to drive in its current condition and we don't have alternative transportation for this driver. What recourse do we have?

  11. Power train, Jan 18, 2025

I was contacted about a gearbox active recall by Honda in November of 2024 and was told to go to a dealer and get it fixed. I have called the dealership several times only to be told that Honda has a fix but has not sent the correct parts to the dealerships to complete the fix. It has been more than 60 days since the notice.

  12. Steering, Jan 14, 2025

I received this Recall Notice in November 2023. I called my local dealer & was told that I would be put on a list & they would call when the parts came in. I contacted them again today & was told it would be “months” as the parts were coming in slowly. I contacted the American Honda Customer Support. They contacted David McDavid Honda in Frisco, TX and I was told they had the repair kit and it was being held for me. They transferred me to David McDavid Honda and spoke to Marissa in their Service Dept. Marissa told me they did NOT have the part after all.

  13. Engine, Jan 11, 2025

All the dash lights and warnings come on. I could not accelerate over 34 miles an hour.

  14. Visibility/wiper, Jan 11, 2025

The driver's side mirror repeatedly shakes at speeds above 40 MPH and is very prolific at highway speeds (especially 70 MPH). It is extremely disorientating and makes it difficult when trying to get an accurate read of surroundings when changing lanes. I had the mirror glass replaced at a dealer, which only made the issue worse. Another dealer replaced the entire mirror assembly, which seemed to solve the problem temporarily. However, it resumed less than a month later and may even be getting worse.

  15. Steering, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 7, 2025

Rattling sound when the car is started - this is happening every time. MPG dropped from 42 to 30..

  16. Structure, Dec 30, 2024

Driver side mirror cracked vertically. Honda says it is "weather related" because I told them it happened while I was driving in snow. It is not covered under warranty. This is a safety issue!

  17. Visibility/wiper, Dec 29, 2024

The Driver's Side mirror glass vibrates excessively while operating the vehicle at highway speeds. This mirror glass vibration causes distorted images to be seen in the mirror and can disorient the driver while the vehicle is in motion.

  18. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 28, 2024

I got to know that I have two recalls open since October 2024. I called Honda campaign to follow up on the recalls as and I opened a case with them on [XXX]. The case number is [XXX]. I was referred to the dealer and when I contacted the dealer who sold my car, he said that he is repairing cars based on a waitlist and that parts are not available with them for both recalls. This car with its current condition is not safe as it is since I have 3 kids who frequently ride the car and one of then is a one year old baby and I saw similar cars went in serious fire due to those recalls. I need help to have this resolved ASAP. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  19. Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 28, 2024

Traveling interstate at 80 mph 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid with 15,500 miles had a critical power failure, and warning lights to stop vehicle as soon as safe. We had the car towed and went to Honda dealer in (Community Honda) in Lafayette, LA (traveling). They state a fuel injector failed I have seen multiple social media posts of a similar experience, but have not seen a recall listed. I wanted to bring this to your attention. In Louisiana, there are a lot of bridges to navigate and this could have been a very dangerous situation of it would have happened on a bridge. Luckily, it happened on the interstate.

  20. Steering, Dec 27, 2024

The steering wheel of my vehicle becomes tight while driving and sticks when turned, especially at higher speeds. At slower speeds, a slight turn to the left or right will result in increased resistance and a “bump” as the steering comes back to center. At higher speeds, the steering wheel is tight and almost feels stuck at center. Once the wheel is turned is will briefly stick in that position and has to forcefully be returned to center. This sometimes results in almost overcorrecting while driving. The steering is loose when the car is in park or at a stop, but once in motion there is a distinct difference, to the point of causing a sore neck/shoulders from holding the wheel.

  21. Power train, Dec 24, 2024

Honda CRV 2023 Sport Touring Hybrid AWD. Vehicle under normal circumstances will be peformaming normally until defective PCM causes car go into limp mode. Vehicle is considered is dangerous due to sudden lost of power if going at high speeds & low speeds.

  22. Other or unspecified, Dec 19, 2024

No dealer is able to fix the recall problems. Please advise.

  23. Steering, Dec 13, 2024

The contact's wife owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

  24. Visibility/wiper, Dec 12, 2024

As my car was warming up, I was standing near the driver door and hear a *tink* noise. When I got into the car, I saw that my driver side mirror had a single vertical crack straight down the middle. There was no point of impact and when I first approached my car not even 5 minutes prior, the mirror was perfectly intact. For all intents and purposes, the mirror has spontaneously cracked. The dealership I took it to has refused to replace the mirror under warranty although my car is less than two years old and only has 10000 miles. The crack distorts visibility considerably. This is a known issue with 23-24 CRVs with a lengthy thread on Reddit detailing similar experiences.

  25. Fuel system, Gasoline, Dec 12, 2024

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the garage, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor on the exterior of the vehicle. The contact stated that the fumes were extremely strong. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
