  18. Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, control unit/moduleOct 17, 2013

Chrysler Group, LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured January 8, 2013, through August 20, 2013. Due to a disruption of computer communications and loose alternator ground wires, the affected vehicles may experience random illumination of multiple instrument cluster warning lights, loss of cluster illumination and loss of anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) function. Because of these conditions, the vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 101, "Controls and Displays," and No. 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

A loss of ABS and ESC function reduces the driver's ability to control the vehicle. Drivers would not be warned of brake system failures or any other failures which would be illuminated on the dashboard display. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ABS and instrument cluster module software and tighten the alternator ground wire, free of charge. The recall began on November 19, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N58.

Without properly functioning parking lamps these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Without parking lamps, the vehicle may not be as visible to other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the Central Body Controller software, free of charge. The recall BEGAN ON September 12, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N42.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

  2. Engine, Jul 6, 2015

DURING A DRIVE UP A MOUNTAIN GRADE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND TOWING A RECREATIONAL BOAT ON 7-4-15, OUR 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH THE 3.0L ECODIESEL ENGINE OVERHEATED (I.E. COOLANT) AND THE OIL TEMPERATURE REACH OVER 300 DEGREES. THESE CONDITIONS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A VERY SLOW DRIVING CONDITION (I.E. 5MPH) ON A TWO (2) LANE HIGHWAY CAUSING A TRAFFIC JAM BEHIND US AND A DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE TURNOUT LANES WERE INFREQUENT. WHEN OPENING THE HOOD, IT APPEARED THAT THE COOLANT HAD SPRAYED OUT OF THE RESERVOIR THROUGH THE CAP AND ONTO THE ENGINE. WE ATTEMPTED TO COOL THE ENGINE DOWN OVER A TWO (2) HOUR PERIOD AND ADDED OVER 1.5 GALLONS OF A WATER/COOLANT MIXTURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STILL OVERHEATED AND HAD THE ENGINE OIL REACH OVER 300 DEGREES UNTIL WE COULD PARK IT FOR SEVERAL MORE HOURS. THE VEHICLE IS RATED TO TOW 7200LBS. WITH THE FACTORY INSTALLED TOWING PACKAGE HOWEVER, JEEP CURIOUSLY DID NOT INSTALL A TOWING FEATURE ON THE MODEL TO HELP WITH SHIFTING, ETC. THE BOAT AND TRAILER WEIGHS LESS THAN 3450LBS. THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION AND I AM AFRAID THAT THE ISSUE HAS DAMAGED THE ENGINE. THE JEEP/CHRYSLER ASSISTANCE LINE WOULD ONLY TOW THE VEHICLE BUT NOT OUR BOAT AND WAS NO HELP TO US SO WE WERE LEFT ON OUR OWN DURING OUR 4TH OF JULY VACATION. JEEP NEEDS TO PROVIDE A TOWING FEATURE, INSTALL A HEAVY DUTY ADDITIONAL OIL COOLER AND ADDITIONAL ENGINE COOLING PROVISIONS FOR THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WITH THE 3.0L ECODIESEL AND FACTORY TOWING PACKAGE FROM A SAFETY AND EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY/LONGEVITY PERSPECTIVE. PLEASE ASSIST US. THANK YOU.

I SEE FROM YOUR WEB SITE MY CAR HAS 8 RECALLS. I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED 2 RECALL NOTICES FROM FIAT CHRYSLER. THE AIRBAG RECALL AND VISOR WIRING RECALL. IT ALSO TOOK OVER 2 MONTHS TO RECEIVE THE RECALL SERVICE.

  5. Equipment adaptive/mobility, Service brakes, Jun 30, 2015

MY CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A FORWARD COLLISION WARNING THAT WILL SIGNAL YOU WHEN YOU ARE TOO CLOSE TO A VEHICLE AND AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES THE BRAKE IF A COLLISION IS IMMINENT. THE CAR HAS 3 TIMES NOW SIGNALED AND ENGAGED THE BRAKES WHEN THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEAR ME. THE FIRST TWO TIMES THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH NO CARS IN MY VISIBLE SIGHT AND THE SIGNAL ALARMED AND THEN THE CAR BRAKED ON IT'S OWN. THIS AGAIN HAPPENED YESTERDAY 6/29/15 WHILE I WAS TURNING LEFT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH A GREEN ARROW AND THE VEHICLE BRAKED WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING. A CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO HIT THEIR BRAKES AND SWERVE TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. EACH TIME I BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THAT THEY CAN'T FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE.

  6. Service brakes, Jun 29, 2015

THE FRONT ROTORS AND THE REAR ROTORS TURNED BLACK WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES PADS ARE NOT WORN WHERE THEY REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. THE ROTORS APPEAR TO BE DEFECTIVE. I SAVED THE ROTORS FOR INSPECTION IF YOU SO DESIRE TO INSPECT THEM. HAVING BEEN A AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICHIAN IN THE PAST AND A MECHANIC ON NYC TAXI CABS I HAVE NEVER WITNESSES THIS KIND OF WEAR AND TEAR ON A ROTOR. HAVING HAD FLEETS OF POLICE VEHICLES I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ROTOR WEAR LIKE THIS EITHER. EVEN POLICE VEHICLES HAVING BEEN IN PURSUITS HAVE NOT WORN OUT LIKE THIS.

  7. Other or unspecified, Jun 28, 2015

ON TWO OCCASIONS WITHIN SEVEN DAYS, MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL (33,626 MILES CURRENTLY) STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY ONCE AT 45 MPH AND THEN AT 60 MPH. BOTH TIMES IT RESTARTED AFTER APPROX. 10-15 MINUTES. BOTH TIMES I TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER. FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT IN AFTER THE RESTART AND THE SECOND TIME I HAD IT TOWED AFTER A HARROWING TIME PULLING OVER AND ALMOST BEING HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. I WAS VERY SHAKEN AND THE STATE TROOPER TOLD ME TO TOW IT FOR MY OWN SAFETY. THE CAR WHEN IT STALLED DID SO WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. AFTER THE CAR RESTARTED IT HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. BOTH DEALERS TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE ANY ISSUES AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TOLD THEM NOTHING AND I SHOULD PICK UP MY CAR. I PICKED IT UP THE FIRST TIME THINKING IT WAS A ONE OFF BUT THIS SECOND TIME IT HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER FOR ALMOST A MONTH AND I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH CHRYSLER. I AM AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY AND MY PASSENGERS SAFETY. THE DEALER REFUSES TO RESEARCH THE ISSUE FURTHER AND CHRYSLER HAS DONE NOTHING OTHER THAN PASSING ON THE SAME MESSAGE FROM THE DEALER TO PICK UP MY CAR. THE DEALER ACTUALLY SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BRING IT BACK! MY CHRYSLER CASE MANAGER OFFERED ME THREE FREE OIL CHANGES FOR MY INCONVENIENCE ! I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL AND OPEN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR EARLIER MODELS RELATED TO DEFECTIVE TIPIN. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE ISSUE OR NOT BUT MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OTHER THAN TRADE IT IN AT A HUGE FINANCIAL LOSS.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK TODAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL IN THE FRONT OF MY CAR AND ALL THE LIGHTS LIT UP ON MY DASH AND MY DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER STARTED GOING UP AND DOWN IN SPEED BUT I WAS NOT GOING ANY FASTER OR SLOWER. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING IN MY JEEP. I HAD IT IN FOR SERVICE ON 5/515 AND IT WAS THERE UNTIL 6/8/15 FOR THESE SAME KIND OF PROBLEMS. ALL MY DEALERSHIP KEEPS DOING IS FLASHING THE SOFTWARE AND TELLING ME IT IS FIXED. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I HAVE HAD SO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOT GETTING FIXED. MY TRANSMISSION TAKES SO LONG TO SHIFT GEARS AND SOMETIMES GETS STUCK IN NEUTRAL WHILE I AM DRIVING, MY TIRES CONSTANTLY FEEL LIKE THEY ARE SLIPPING AND I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE A SIX YEAR OLD CHILD THAT RIDES IN MY JEEP EVERYDAY AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE PUTTING THEM IN IT. I HAVE TRIED TO CALL FCA AND THEY REFUSE TO TALK TO ME OR HELP ME WITH A RESOLUTION TO THESE PROBLEMS. I JUST WANT TO FEEL SAFE WHEN I AM DRIVING AND ALSO TO FEEL SAFE PUTTING MY CHILD IN MY VEHICLE AND AT THIS POINT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY GRAND CHEROKEE ANYMORE AND IT IS A SHAME.

I WAS ON THE I-94 ENTRANCE/EXIT RAMP BETWEEN FULLERTON AVENUE AND WESTERN AVENUE. JUST BEFORE WESTERN AVE: THE LEFT LANE IS INTENDED FOR VEHICLES ENTERING I-94 NORTHBOUND, THE RIGHT LANE IS INTENDED FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE PROCEEDING TO WESTERN AVE. WHEN THE EVEN OCCURRED, THERE WAS A LINE OF VEHICLES STOPPED IN THE LEFT LANE DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON I-94. I WAS TRAVELING IN THE RIGHT LANE AND HAD NO CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. AS I BEGAN TO PASS THE LONG LINE OF VEHICLES THAT WERE WAITING TO ENTER ON TO I-94 ON MY LEFT, THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM BEGAN TO CHIME AND BRAKING BEGAN FOR NO REASON. I QUICKLY REACHED DOWN, DISABLED THE ABS FUNCTION, GLANCED IN MY REAR-VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT I HAD COME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER A FEW WEEKS, I RE-ENABLED THE FEATURE THINKING THAT THE EVENT WAS A FLUKE. I RE-ENABLED IT, BUT HAD A HANDFUL OF INSTANCES WHERE THE BRAKES WOULD BE APPLIED IN SEEMINGLY INAPPROPRIATE SITUATIONS - MOSTLY ALL OF THEM IN DENSE CITY DRIVING. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 10K MILES ON IT. I HAVE YET TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE ON THIS OR THE MULTITUDE OF FACTORY RECALLS. POSSIBLY RELATED, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHERE THE PARKING SENSOR CHIMES HAVE GONE OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING -OR- IN GEAR, BUT STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. I OFTEN LEAVE THE FEATURE DISABLED UNTIL I GET READY TO PARK. *TR

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON JUNE 9,2015 AND I USED MY TURN SIGNAL TO SWITCH LANES AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY WOULD NOT TURN OFF! THE TURN SIGNALS WERE FLASHING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN LEFT AND RIGHT THE ENTIRE WAY TO WORK. I GOT TO THE PARKING LOT AND I TURNED MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OFF AND I WENT INTO WORK FOR MY 16 HOUR SHIFT THINKNING THEY WOULD GO OFF BY THE TIME I WAS DONE WORKING BUT I WAS WRONG, THEY WERE STILL FLASHING WHEN I STARTED MY JEEP AGAIN! THEY BLINKED FOR ABOUT HALF MY 45 MINUTE DRIVE HOME AND THEN THEY JUST TURNED OFF. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK MY JEEP TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND SHOWED THEM THE VIDEO I TOOK WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT OF THEM FLASHING AND TOLD THEM I WANTED IT FIXED BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I PUT MY CHILD IN THIS VEHICLE EVERYDAY AND HAVING THESE KIND OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WERE UNSAFE. WELL THEY CALLED TODAY 6/18/15 AND SAID THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CANNOT FIX IT! EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A VIDEO AS PROOF! I AM AFRAID TO PICK UP MY JEEP. I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE FOR THE ROAD AND UNSAFE TO PUT MY CHILD IN BUT THEY COULD REALLY CARE LESS AND SAID I HAVE TO PICK IT UP. I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO PICKING IT UP BECAUSE IT HAS BECOME SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD BUT MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER WILL NOT FIX IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON W. MAPLE RD IN TROY, MI IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON ON FEBRUARY 18, 2015. THERE WAS MINIMAL TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD AND NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME IN MY LANE OR THE LANE NEXT TO ME. SUDDENLY, MY DASH LIT UP TO BRAKE AND THE CAR STARTED BRAKING ON IT'S OWN. IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY THAT I WASN'T EVEN SURE WHAT IT WAS. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. AGAIN THE SYSTEM APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE WARNING WORD BRAKE FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD WHEN THERE WAS NOTHING NEAR ME. IT HAPPENED QUICKLY AND THEN THE CAR WENT BACK TO NORMAL WITHOUT ME DOING OR CHANGING ANYTHING IN THE CAR. I BROUGHT IT TO THE SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALERSHIP IN TROY AND THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE. NO CODES WERE ACTIVATED IN THE COMPUTER AND THERE WERE NO SERVICE BULLETINS ABOUT IT SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO.. . I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN TO ME FIVE DAYS LATER DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME SPEED. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR LONGER, DROVE IT 119 MILES, USED THE MILLER TOOL KIT TO ALIGN THE CAMERA AND STILL FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE FRONT SENSOR AND BUBBLE ALIGNED. THE ONLY THING THAT THE DEALERSHIP FOUND WAS THAT ON ONE OF THE TEST DRIVES THEY COULDN'T GET THE ACC SYSTEM TO WORK AT ALL AND STILL NO REPORTS SHOWED UP ON THE COMPUTER. THE NEXT TEST DRIVE ALL SYSTEMS WERE WORKING, AGAIN NO REPORT ON THE COMPUTER OF THE CHANGE. THE DEALERSHIP STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT THEY THOUGHT THAT THEY FIXED IT.. IN MAY, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS MERGING ONTO THE EXPRESSWAY TRAVELING AT 63MPH. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND AGAIN IT WAS RETURNED TO ME WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR FIX THE PROBLEM. . .UPDATED 07/21/15 *BF

MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL SINCE I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION NUMBER #X03QBQOQ38 WITH NAPLETON CHRYSLER IN KISSIMMEE, FL. THEY VERIFIED THE PART WAS IN. SHOWED UP FOR APPOINTMENT AND AFTER TWO HOURS, I GOT AN OIL CHANGE, TIRE ROTATION SOME UPDATES AND NO SAFETY RECALL. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT I HAD TO TAKE A DAY OFF WORK FOR A RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON SINCE OCTOBER AND IT DID NOT HAPPEN. THESE RECALLS ARE JUST SCAMS TO GET THE OWNER TO HAVE OTHER WORK DONE. I CAN'T BELIEVE A NATIONAL AGENCY IS INVOLVED WITH THIS TYPE OF SCAM. RE: P67/NHTSA 14V-643. ...UPDATED 08-06/15 *BF

ENTER VEHICLE AND PLACED IT IN THE RUN POSITION, I HEARD A DING FROM THE CONSOLE AND NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED. I THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES HOWEVER THE LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERS' SERVICE ADVISOR STATES THAT IT WILL BE TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN SERVICE THE VEHICLE. HE ADVISED THAT I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, AS I NORMALLY WOULD, WITH THE SERVE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED???? THAT MAKES NO SENSE.

MY DAUGHTER WAS PARKING HER 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OUTSIDE OF A RETAIL STORE. AS SHE SLOWED AND PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE JEEP SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD, JUMPING THE CURB, CROSSING A SIDEWALK, GOING THROUGH A SMALL GRASS MEDIAN, AND INTO A DIFFERENT AREA OF THE PARKING LOT. THE POLICE REPORT, OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, CASE NUMBER 15-REDACTED, ACCURATELY RECORDS THE SURGE. THE OFFICERS CONCLUSION WAS DRIVER ERROR. THROUGH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS CONCERNING 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR THE JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND THAT WHEN THE JEEP CAME IN FOR REPAIR, I WANTED THE ACCIDENT DATA PRESERVED. HE TOLD ME THE ONLY DATA THAT HE COULD OBTAIN WAS JEEPS PROPRIETARY INFORMATION, WHICH I COULD NOT HAVE. A REPRESENTATIVE FORM MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS ADAMANT THAT WE, AS THE OWNERS OF THE JEEP, HAVE A RIGHT TO ANY INFORMATION CAPTURED BY THE JEEPS SYSTEMS. HOWEVER, THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NO WAY TO OBTAIN THAT INFORMATION WHEN THEY APPRAISED THE DAMAGE TO THE JEEP. I NEED HELP IN OBTAINING THE DATA BY SOMEONE OUTSIDE OF JEEP WHO CAN ACCESS IT, OR HELP TO COMPEL JEEP TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE INFORMATION, HENCE THIS ONLINE SUBMISSION. I PURCHASED A NEW 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT LAST YEAR AND HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES, THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM. I WAS IN THE FAR LEFT TURN LANE OF A TWO LANE LEFT TURN STOPLIGHT. STOPLIGHT TURNS GREEN FOR LEFT TURN LANES TO PROCEED TO HIGHWAY ENTRANCE RAMP, AS I AM TURNING LEFT MY CAR AUTOMATICALLY SLAMS INTO A FULL BRAKE AND STOPS IN MIDDLE OF TURN LANE. THE CAR WAS OUT OF MY CONTROL AS THE BRAKE PEDDLE WAS FULLY PRESSED TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE BRAKE. MY VEHICLE DOES HAVE THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE SYSTEM, WHICH WAS ACTIVATED THIS DAY. THE CAR BEHIND ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES SINCE MY VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A LEFT TURN. WE DID NOT GET REAR ENDED THANKFULLY. THERE WAS A CAR TO THE RIGHT OF MY VEHICLE ALSO MAKING A LEFT TURN, AT NO POINT DID THIS VEHICLE COME NEAR MY VEHICLE NOR CROSSED LANES. MY VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR NO REASON AND WHEN I WENT TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT CONTINUED TO STAY IN A FULL BRAKE, IT TOOK ABOUT A MINUTE TO GET MY VEHICLE TO START ACCELERATING AGAIN. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I TURNED OFF THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE SYSTEM. TO BE DRIVING A VEHICLE AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR TAKES CONTROL OF ITSELF IS VERY SCARY AND NOT SAFE.

DRIVING THROUGH THE EISENHOWER TUNNEL THE BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM ACTIVATED. THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE. I HAVE HAD THIS JEEP FOR OVER A YEAR AND HAVE DRIVEN THROUGH THIS TUNNEL OVER 80 TIMES AND NOW WHENEVER DRIVING THROUGH THE TUNNEL THIS BRAKE WARNING WILL FLASH. THIS HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 16 TIMES NOW. THIS WARNING IS NOW GOING OFF ON THE OPEN INTERSTATE AND SECONDARY ROADS. THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL STOPS WORKINGS AFTER 15-20 MINUTES. THIS HAS BEEN INTO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS, ONLY TO TELL ME THE LENS WAS DIRTY. WITHIN 20 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER (WHO CLEANED THE SENSOR) THE SYSTEM STOPS WORKING AND SAYS TO CLEAN THE SENSOR. NO SNOW OR WATER WAS DRIVEN THROUGH PRIOR TO THE MESSAGE BEING DISPLAYED.
