Electrical system, Service brakes, Sep 17, 2026
I have had the ABS control module show an internal fault twice now in 3 years. The latest incident was while I was towing my travel trailer. When the unit sets a code, it disables the trailer brakes, along with the anti-lock brakes. This could be really bad in on a hill or sudden need to stop. The first occurrence was in 2023. I was unable to find a replacement, so i found a company to repair the unit. After the current incident, I have started looking for a new unit. They are still not readily available. How can this not be a major safety problem? Manufacturers are required to provide ABS systems in cars, but not the parts to fix the systems? This seems to be a very common problem with the 2013-2018 Ram 1500 trucks. The problem part shows C2200, ABS module internal; internal electronic fault.

Steering, Electrical system, Service brakes, Jul 21, 2026
Shortly after purchasing this truck, the ABS, Traction Control, Electronic braking system, and trailer brake system lights all came on. Back then I did some research and learned it was just something I will have to live with. Fast forward 2 years and the other day I drove to work like normal but when I came back out to my truck the electronic power steering had gone out. Some research told me that it was caused by my ABS module going bad. It is ridiculous that this part is going out in so many trucks and it is not even available for purchase. I’d happily replace it if it were available. Downright irresponsible on Ram’s part.
Power train, Electrical system, Service brakes, Jun 17, 2026
With no warning my truck lost all anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, trailer brakes, and 4x4 capability (computer will not allow 4x4 to engage). This is due to an "abs module" failure. Ram/Dodge has no new units available to repair this faulty part and no ETA on if/when they will be available. There was thankfully no accident with this failure but obviously, it could lead to one. Especially since the part cannot be fixed. Owners are left with scavenging used parts that are still operational. As in my case, my vehicle will have to be "fixed" with an abs module from a wrecked truck! Also, the electronic steering can fail with no warnings. Leading to complete loss of power steering, traction control, and stability control. This failed on my truck as I was driving as well. Thankfully again, no accident with this failure. There is no new factory part to replace this unit either. I had this repaired with a remanufactured unit that failed in one month, then it was replaced again and seems to be fixed for now. These are keystone components to an automobile and it is unacceptable for them to just stop working and have no available parts to the responsible consumer. This leads to owners having a useless worthless vehicle rotting in the driveway or a highly unsafe vehicle on the road to those irresponsible. I want to also shed light to the fact that these issues encompass model years from 2009 to brand new 2026 Ram trucks. There are people with 2025-2026 Ram trucks dealing with this same issue, my vehicles age isn't an iota to molten issues under the surface to Ram owners! No one is asking for a hand out but to merely repair our vehicles.

I had my ABS Light and Brake light come on in August 2023. My cruise control and my brake controller would no longer work. Took it to a dealer for repairs and they diagnosed it as needing a ABS Contol Modular. It has been on back order since that time. I was first told 3 mo, then 6 mo. Etc. I visited the dealership last week and they told me the part will no longer be manufactured. I have a low mileage vehicle that is worthless to trade in or sell because of this brake issue. The part number is 68228991AD ABS Control Modular.
Electrical system, Service brakes, Apr 22, 2026
Ram is doing recalls on abs braking systems and trailer hitch problems. I have a 2014 with the same problems and there are other owners complaining bout the same thing on forums. Why are you letting Ram go on with problem and only going back to 2025?. It's ridiculous for them to slide and not repair a problem tht has been going on for years. And Ram dealers want $2300 to $3000 to repair.
Steering, Power train, Electrical system, Mar 30, 2026
The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power steering while in operation, creating a safety concern due to reduced ability to control the vehicle. At the time of failure, multiple electrical and control module faults were present. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership, which diagnosed the issue as requiring rack and pinion replacement. The owner paid out of pocket for this repair. Dealership documentation shows the steering failure occurred alongside multiple electrical system faults. During the same service period, the dealership also performed multiple safety recall repairs, including control module and software updates. These systems are integrated, and the steering failure occurred in conjunction with electrical and control module issues later addressed under recall. This raises concern that the original failure may be related to defects now identified under active safety recalls. The owner incurred significant repair costs prior to recall correction. This situation presents a potential safety related defect involving steering and electrical system interaction.

The recall for the loss of signal from the tone ring in recall 66A was supposed to allow the vehicle to use the signal from the camshaft positioning sensor. This recall was completed on my truck but the loss of signal from a bad tone ring has resulted in the same condition as the original recall which is inoperability of the vehicle. This still poses a safety threat as the recall did not correct the issue. The manufacturer is now claiming that the recall period is expired and the tone ring failure will not be covered. the repair is 1700 and may still result in a failure of the vehicle to maintain propulsion as it did for me on Jan 30th, 2026. I have a case open with Stellantis to try and get an answer to this, but it is still a safety concern. case number 895950295

There was a previous recall for my vehicle July 21, 2015 R36 15V•459. The recall was handled at the dealership to fix the recall. But now I'm experiencing the exact symptoms of Recall R36. Steering Wheel: •Ghost right blinker - When engaged, all lights are on and in working condition and blink at a normal rate on the outside of the vehicle. •No menu navigation •No cruise control •Can't control radio •Can't control phone calls •No working horn •Active airbag light Symptoms are constant all angles of the steering wheel. There is no noise coming from the steering column. Airbag light is on all the time. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety is put at risk for having a failed horn, I cannot alert others. And with the airbag light on, either the airbag can spontaneously deploy causing an accident or if I'm in an accident, they won't deploy at all. If I can't access my menu, I'm unable to see any vehicle notifications or alerts for my engine, transmission, and safety systems, including Perform Service reminders, tire pressure warnings, oil life percentage, low oil pressure and potential emissions or electrical issues. No, it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center yet. No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. As many other dodge ram owners are also experiencing anti lock brake control module internal electronic failure. Abs, traction control, and brake warning lights are all on on the dash so abs and traction control are disabled the 4 wheel drive won't function due to this either. Abs has fault code c2200-49 diagnosed at a local facility with fix finder diagnostic and doesn't seem to be any available control module replacements to even repair it. This truck is useless on the icy road at this time and dangerous for everyone's safety on the road under normal driving conditions without all of these safety features working as they should. There should be parts available at least if not a recall or maybe even customer pays for the part and dealership programs new part for free! The anti lock brake control modules are faulty on way to many generations of dodge ram vehicles for dodge not to recall all faulty abs control modules on all year models, please help with this issue THANKS in advance

I'm sure this is not the first complaint you all have received, and this is not my first attempt at reaching out. My 2014 Laramie Longhorn power steering light comes on when the truck is started, and once the vehicle warms up the light goes out. This has been an issue with the electric power steering in this particular year model. I am unsure why another investigation and or recall have not been opened up yet, but this is definitely a safety concern for my family and others on the roadway. I would love to see this issue taken care of and open up another recall.

The ABS module (anti-lock brake module) has stopped working. My abs light, parking brake light, and traction control light stay on all the time and my anti-lock brakes are not working. This is SO common with 3rd generation Ram 1500’s (2013-2018) and I don’t understand why the abs module has not been recalled yet? The cost to replace the abs module is extremely expensive and if it a poorly designed part that will fail, Mopar should recall the part and replace it.

Check engine light came on and then turning a corner my power steering turned off. Cause me to run off the road and almost crashed. It yanked me straight off the road. Put a code reader on it and C2200-49 was popping up.
Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Service brakes, Sep 12, 2025
My 2014 Ram 1500 ABS light, traction control, and brake light popped up and if I drive it for a short bit and stop and shut it off and crank it up the light don’t come back on. It has been doing this all the time through the winter and now says on all the time. All so the back up camera doesn’t power up when you first start vehicle for about two minutes on the radio display. The camera not coming on creates a big safety issue when backing up. We have small grandchildren and this makes it a big safety concern.
Steering, Electrical system, Sep 12, 2025, crash, fire
My son was driving on the freeway and went to change lanes and all of a sudden the power steering system stopped working and he told me after the fact that it locked up and he could not turn the steering wheel so he hit a guard rail and flipped the truck on its side. It caught on fire instantly and he was lucky to be able to get out. A passerby stopped while the truck was on fire and held the passenger door opened for him as he climbed out. If there were any children in the vehicle, they might have not been so lucky! Could have killed my son and anybody else on the road that early morning. Should be a police report. No system failures at the time.
