Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with an 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.
If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the tailgate latch, free of charge. The recall began May 23, 2019. Chrysler is expected to notify owners of the expanded population on October 18, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is V44. Electrical system, wiringMay 17, 2018
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Power train, automatic transmission, lever and linkage, column shiftDec 20, 2017
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.

Air bagsMay 9, 2017
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 vehicles. Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.
If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ORC software, free of charge. The recall began June 26, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T25.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling aftermarket Mopar Canvas Seat Covers for certain 2012-2016 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. These Mopar canvas seat covers were sold through Chrysler dealerships beginning October 15, 2015. The seat covers can impede the deployment of the seat thorax airbags.
If the seat cover impedes the air bag deployment, the seat thorax air bags may not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of a injury.
Chrysler will notify owners to remove the front seat covers and return them for a full refund. The recall began on July 1, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S30.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab trucks manufactured August 26, 2013, to August 8, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) that may not fully overlap the C-pillars in the event of a vehicle crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
In the event of a vehicle crash, if a SABIC does not inflate as intended, there is an increased risk of injury to the rear seat occupant.
Chrysler will notify owners, dealers will inspect the right and left side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) for proper orientation and a foil patch will be installed on both sides of the headliner. One or both of the air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) will be replaced if necessary. The recall began on October 7, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge Viper vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.
Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R40.

In the affected vehicles, the side impact sensor calibrations may be overly sensitive, and as a result, the side air bag inflatable curtains and seat air bags may unexpectedly deploy and the seat belt pre-tensioners may activate.
Air bags that unexpectedly deploy increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the Occupant Restraint Control module calibration, free of charge. The recall began on September 8, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R23.

ME AND MY FAMILY (MY WIFE & 2 KIDS: MY OLDEST IS 7 & MY YOUNGEST IS 3) WERE ON A FISHING TRIP. WHEN RETURNING TO THE BOAT LAUNCH, I BACKED MY BOAT TRAILER INTO THE WATER WITH MY TRUCK. THE BACK TIRES OF MY TRUCK ARE ABOUT 2 FEET AWAY FROM THE WATER. I PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND SET MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. MY WIFE AND YOUNGEST SON GOT INTO THE TRUCK AND BEGAN TO BUCKLE THEIR SEAT BELTS AS I SET MY BOAT ONTO THE TRAILER. MY OLDEST STAYED ON THE LAND. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF MY TRUCK MOTOR RUNNING, WHILE STILL IN PARK, AND WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. MY WIFE, WHO IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, HEARS SOMEWHAT OF A POP NOISE AND MY TRUCK STARTS BACKING INTO THE WATER. ONCE MY WIFE GRABS OUR SON AND SITS HIM BY HER, I AM ABLE TO GET TO THE DOOR THEY ARE BY AND I AM PULLING ON THE DOOR, IN WATER THAT IS UP TO MY CHIN DEEP, AS SHE IS KICKING THE DOOR AND HOLDING THE HANDLE OF THE DOOR. THE DOOR OPENS AND I GRAB MY SON AND WIFE AND WE SWAM TO THE BOAT LAUNCH. IT IS UNKNOWN OF WHERE THE POP NOISE CAME FROM. MY WIFE SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS RELEASED. MY TRAGEDY IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. I HAVE NO RECORDS AS OF YET LIKE MY POLICE REPORT. IT IS STILL BEING HANDLED WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. AS OF PICTURES, I HAVE ONE THAT I AM TRYING TO GET FROM THE GUY WHO CAME TOW MY TRUCK. I WILL HAVE ALL THESE DOCUMENTS WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

LEFT FRONT BRAKE WORN PADS / CAUSING ROTOR DAMAGE AT ~30,000 MILES. DESIGN ISSUE THAT NO WARNING SYSTEM EXIST ON PAD WORN OUT. ON INSPECTION RIGHT FRONT ALSO AFFECTED BUT NOT COMPLETELY WORN OUT. A METHOD OR SYSTEM SHOULD EXIST TO WARN DRIVER TO REPLACE PADS. DEALER TREATS IT AS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR - I BELIEVE IT IS PART OF NHTSA #16V168000 POTENTIALLY USING SAME PARTS FROM SAME SUPPLIER AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. DEALER IS BIG O DODGE IN GREENVILLE SC. THIS VEHICLE HAD A LARGE NUMBER OF RECALLS ALREADY AND ONCE FOR WRONG DIFFERENTIAL INSTALLED WAS OUT OF SERVICE FOR LONGER THAN 3 WEEKS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A LEMON VEHICLE AND SHOULD BE A BUY BACK FROM THE DEALER.

NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, BLOWING FUSES, BLOWING LIGHT BULBS, AND RADIO ISSUES. I HAD TO REPLACE THREE FUSES AND HAVE ONLY HAD THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE DESPITE IT WAS ON THE DEALERS LOT WITH 5 MILES ON IT WHEN I TEST DROVE IT. IN A YEARS TIME I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ONE HEAD LIGHT BUILD, ONE RIGHT BRAKE TAIL LIGHT BULB. HAD TO REPLACE THE THREE BRAKE LIGHT DUE TO LEAKING. I AM GETTING READY TO HAVE THE THIRD RADIO REPLACED BY DEALER. THE DEALER HAS HAD TO ALSO WORK ON THE REAR WINDOW TWICE WHICH WAS LEAKING SEVERALLY, AND THE DEALER HAS ALSO REPLACED THE SHARK FIN SATELLITE ANTENNA ONCE. I AM ALSO STARTING TO SEE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW MOVING ROUGHLY NOT SMOOTH AS OTHERS THREE WINDOWS STILL ARE SMOOTH OPERATION. I HAVE ALSO HAD FIVE RECALLS SERVICED AND ASSUMED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED OR MAYBE THEY ARE CAUSING THESE OR OTHER ISSUES!

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A SMOOTH STRAIGHT ROAD, THE EMERGENCY INFORMATION SCREEN IN MY GAUGE CLUSTER STARTED FLASHING AND STATED "SERVICE POWER STEERING" "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM" "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROLLER" "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" IT ALSO STATED TO NOT SHIFT TO PARK AS SHIFTING MAY BECOME INOPERABLE ONCE STOPPED. MY POWER STEERING WAS GONE, MY GAS PEDAL WAS INOPERABLE AND BRAKING WAS VERY WEAK. I HAD TO MUSCLE THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOWLY COME TO A STOP AND SHIFTED INTO PARK. I TURNED THE KEY FOB TO OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER. NOW, MY KEY FOB WAS ALSO STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WOULD NOT TURN TO THE OFF POSITION TO REMOVE THE KEY. I CALLED CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND SAT ON HOLD FOR 55 MINUTES BEFORE THE FIRST PERSON ANSWERED THE PHONE. AFTER 10-15 MIN WE HAD A TOW TRUCK SET UP BUT THAT WOULDN'T BE THERE FOR ANOTHER 75 MINUTES. SO FROM THE TIME I CALLED TO WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ACTUALLY ARRIVED IT WAS ALMOST 2.5 HOURS! GOOD THING IT WASN'T THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE. THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. THEN THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BCM. THAT DIDN'T WORK AS THEY NOW "ONLY HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH HALF OF THE VEHICLE". I'M STILL NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS BUT THAT'S WHERE WE ARE AT DAY 7. I DO NOT WANT THIS VEHICLE BACK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT IF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS NO IDEA HOW TO PROPERLY FIX IT OR EVEN KNOW IF THEY HAVE PROPERLY FIXED IT WITH THEIR GUESS AND CHECK METHODS. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR PULLING A TRAILER WHEN THIS HAPPENED, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTEROUS! OR EVEN WORSE IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING IN 4WD AND LOST POWER STEERING THERE IS NO WAY SHE COULD HAVE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER SAFELY. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT I WANT NO PART OF. THIS IS ON TOP OF THE 5+ RECALLS.

ON 13 MAY I WAS COMING TO A METERED LIGHT WHEN A LANE SPLITTER CAUSED ME TO HARD BRAKE TO AVOID THE SPLITTER. MY TRUCK, WITH NO PROMPTING FROM ME SHUT OFF. I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY A SEMI BEHIND ME. ON 6 JUNE I WAS COMING TO A LIGHT AND NEARLY STOPPED AND MY TRUCK SHUT OFF. ON 7 JULY I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT AND MY TRUCK SHUT OFF. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS THE TRUCK TURNS OFF, THE TURN DIAL FLASHES "P" (AS IT IS CURRENTLY IN D). I PUT THE TRUCK IN P, TURN THE IGNITION BACK ON, PLACE TURN DIAL INTO D AND DRIVE. EACH TIME CARL BURGER DODGE SAYS THAT MY TRUCK DOESNT "CODE" AND THEY CANT RECREATE THE ISSUE. I PROVIDED THEM WITH VIDEO'S OF WHAT HAPPENS THAT I FOUND ON YOUTUBE AND THATS WHEN THEY STARTED A "STAR" CASE WITH CHRYSLER MAIN. MY CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE ASSISTANCE ADMITS THERE IS AN ISSUE SAYING "THE TECH'S ARE WORKING ON IT" BUT THEN SAYS THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS "GIVE ME 3 FREE YEARS OF OIL CHANGES". I AM A DISABLED VETERAN AND I HAVE REACHED LEMON LAW STATUS BUT CARL BURGER IS NOT DOING ANYTHING AND CHRYSLER SAYS ITS CARL BURGERS RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE MY TRUCK BACK BUT CARL BURGER SAYS ITS CHRYSLERS. THIS TRUCK IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED. THERE IS ANOTHER REPORTED CASE IN CHULA VISTA, CA AND CHRYSLER ALSO GAVE THEM 3 FREE YEARS OF OIL CHANGES JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH ME. YOUR RECALL DIDNT INCLUDE THIS YEAR/MAKE AND MODEL AND IT CANT JUST BE MY TRUCK, THERE IS A DODGE FORUMN THAT HAS THIS ISSUE ON THE ENTIRE THREAD BUT SINCE NO CUSTOMERS VEHICLES "CODE" CHRYSLER IS KEEPING THIS QUIET, I THINK THEY REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS. CARL BURGER SAYS THEY CANT KEEP TAKING MY TRUCK APART BUT "WE BELIEVE YOU". PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.
