  2. Suspension, May 12, 2023

The factory installed air suspension has failed more times than I can count. It’s has been going on for years mainly during the winter months, but so far this year with the warmer weather it still fails probably at least once or twice a week. This issue puts everyone in danger that is around these trucks while the are having these issues with the suspension air bags deflating when on public roadways. The truck is available for inspection anytime and I encourage you to follow up with any of these trucks with complaints that suffer the same issue because if you do maybe you will realize that we are not all just crazy. This is a serious issue that needs addressed by the manufacturer. The message of immediate air suspension service required shows on the dash, or air system cooling. The defect has been confirmed/observed/examined by multiple members of law enforcement because the truck is terrible to drive and bounces so bad as it drives straight down the road with minimal bumps. The report was mentioned to dealerships before but the act like they have never heard of this issue ‍♂️. I don’t know how that’s possible.

  8. Service brakes, Apr 13, 2023

ABS module has failed. It is available for inspection for a limited time. I have to send it to a repair facility. My ABS module controls speedometer, tire pressure sensors, seat belt chime rings constantly even when seatbelt is engaged. Several lights on the dash flash or remain on. The hydraulic pump runs and kills my battery when parked. There were no symptoms prior to failure. Only after failure. The problem has been inspected and confirmed by 2 repair facilities. One facility told me they had 18 on back-order when I inquired on a repair. There is a nationwide shortage per the Dodge Ram dealers. I have contacted Dealers, repair service centers and Dodge Corporate Headquarters. They said they have it under engineering review until August. My truck is unsafe to drive because I cannot regulate my speed (speedometer), may get rapid tire deflation (TPMS), parking brake lights sensors remain on.

  9. Fuel system, Gasoline, Engine, Apr 10, 2023

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking violently. There was an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who referred her to the dealer for assistance. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 187,000.

  10. Suspension, Apr 10, 2023

I bought this 2014 RAM December of 2022. I drove the truck from Charlotte NC to Cleveland Ohio and back with no issues the week after I purchased it. At the end of January this year the FACTORY AIR SUSPENSION started giving me trouble. The Air bags deflate and will not pump back up and it becomes almost un drivable because it bounces violently and it slams down hard on the bump stops so hard it literally jars your insides and this is very very dangerous. The truck seems to have a mind of its own because it does this and then anywhere from 1-15 days later the warning lights go away and it seems to work just fine. It will pump back up and stay like it's supposed to be for anywhere from 1 day to a week and then it just automatically on its own deflates again all the way down to the bump stops and it is a terrible unsafe to drive all over again. This cycle has gone on and on and on since January. I have done all kinds of research and it seems there are possibly thousands of these trucks out there with this same issue and no factory recall that I'm aware of. Now a truck out on the roads and highways with no suspension I believe is very very dangerous I mean it literally feels like it's riding on square tires and the bouncing is so so violent and it slams down so hard after a larger bump or pot hole in the road it feels like something could actually just snap or break off. Most people like myself can't afford to make payments on a vehicle like this and she'll out thousands of dollars on a repair that is clearly a factory/ manufacturing issue and not something caused by me or any other customers with this same issue. I could really use some help with this because without transportation I can't work and driving the truck this way is going to possibly kill me or some other innocent people and I don't want that to happen for sure so I hope to hear back with some encouraging news from you guys on this issue. Thank you very much. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

  11. Power train, Apr 6, 2023

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while parked on a flat road surface, the transmission was shifted into park(P), but the vehicle rolled backwards. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

  12. Fuel system, Diesel, Apr 3, 2023

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, an unknown message was displayed, and the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank injector was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on three other occasions, and the fuel pump, the engine oil, entire DEF system, and the DEF line were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with the assistance of Chrysler engineers. The DEF injectors dosage module was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that fuel pressure sensor range had failed; however, the dealer informed the contact that they were unable to fix the vehicle. The contact became aware that the vehicle experienced an engine replacement in 2018. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

  13. Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 16, 2023

Front gas tank support failed dropping the front of the tank. Fuel tank made contact with driveshaft but no fuel was spilled. It appears the frame rusted and the actual strap didn't fail. I took new delivery of this 2014MY vehicle in Dec 2013. I will likely repair this myself but have not started repairs yet.

  14. Steering, Mar 14, 2023

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the steering wheel became firm. 17. Tires, Feb 20, 2023

Tire size is 275/60R20 115T AT+. Regarding the set of tires purchased from Sam’s Club via Pirelli, all 4 tires are dry rotted along the bead of each individual tire. The tires do not maintain pressure and the pressure drops significantly lower than the recommended PSI regarding environmental changes and ambient temperature in different regions. The manufacturer workmanship of the tire causes deflation in the tires which leads to different tread wear on the tires. I’ve contacted the manufacturer regarding the issue and they have not provided guidance to the merchant as a vendor to replace tires at no cost to the consumer submitting this report. I’m reporting this issue because Pirelli is not upholding their warranty in it’s entirety.

  18. Steering, Feb 13, 2023

I was driving on a busy congested road. I was traveling 55 mph. As I was driving, a warning light came on to service the power steering (this had not happened previously and I had no warning). I realized then that my steering wheel had seized and became immobile. Using tremendous force I was able to get the truck through traffic and to the side of the road. I was unable to control the truck normally. I had to navigate across two other lanes of traffic to get the truck to a safe position. It required a great deal of strength on the steering wheel to move the truck at all. Fortunately the road I was on was straight. If there had been any curve I would have definitely been in an accident and could have seriously injured myself or others. This car has been looked at by an independent mechanic and the problem verified. He has advised that there is no manufacturer part or aftermarket part available for this issue. Additionally the manufacturer has advised there is no fix. This car is currently not driveable and in my driveway available for inspection.

  19. Engine, Feb 6, 2023

Check engine light came on after replacing spark plugs and coil packs. Code reads cylinder 03 misfire. Engine has a ticking noise. Cam and lifters are what's causing the check engine light. If not replaced with the upgraded cam and lifters, engine will be no good. Would be very unsafe if my engine were to blow up while driving on the freeway or around town with my children. Dodge knows these cams and lifters are junk and should replace them with the upgraded ones

  20. Service brakes, Feb 5, 2023

I have a failure of the ABS pump and eletrical actuator. I took it to my dealer for an estimate for repair. The dealer told me it was not on the recall list for repair. I was told they could not get a new replacement and want to replace the parts with used parts from the junk yard. I was told that the cost would be $950.00 including the scan but there is no guarantee. Why is this safety issue not covered by a recall? The blog pages for dodge ram are full of people complaining about the failure.

  21. Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 5, 2023

While driving I heard a sound under the truck. When I pulled over I looked under the truck and noted that one of the straps that holds the gas tank up had come loose. Further inspection noted that the strap had not broken, the part where it connected to the frame had rusted out and let the strap loose. When I looked into it I found out there was a safety recall for the same issue in prior model years. I had this repaired at Waldorf Dodge and they did not cover it under the previous recall. Please look into whether there have been other reports of the same issue for later model years than the recall covers.

  25. Power train, Electrical system, Jan 12, 2023

My vehicle VIN [XXX] shown "no unprepared recalls". However I saw that there was a past recall for this vehicle. The recall dealt with the digital instrument cluster which gives data on engine management, safety features such as ABS systems, and other safety items. I do not believe my vehicle had ever been repaired. My digital instrument system flashes on and off and many times, as all day today, was completely inoperable. This has been occurring for approx one year and the dealer told me that this was normal, which it is absolutely not. The dealerships around here have a habit of falsely signing off on repairs and recalls especially if the vehicle hit their lot with a recall during a trade-in. The new buyer would have no idea of such recall. Please assist me in getting this unprepared recall repaired. I would also like to address the faulty 8 speed transmissions which shudder and shift unnecessarily. This could cause a sudden loss power on acceleration in heavy high speed traffic and merging onto an interstate. Please look into this.
