Recalls and investigations

  1. Air bags, frontal, driver side, inflator moduleMar 10, 2021

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Ranger, 2006-2012 Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln MKZ, 2006-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX vehicles. The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator or module with an alternate one, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 9, 2021 for the passenger side, and November 14, 2022 for the driver side. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S12.

  4. Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, control unit/moduleDec 18, 2019

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2006-2010 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ vehicles. The valves within the ABS Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) may react with brake fluids containing specific corrosion preventative additives. This reaction may cause the valves to not close properly.

If the valves do not properly close, additional brake pedal travel may be required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will flush the brake system with DOT 4 fluid and install a new brake fluid reservoir cap. In addition, the HCU will be tested to detect a possible stuck valve condition, replacing the HCU as necessary. All services will be performed free of charge. The recall began April 1, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S54.

  9. Fuel system, gasoline, storage, auxillary tankNov 24, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 21, 2008, to March 4, 2011, and 2010-2011 Mercury Milan vehicles manufactured July 23, 2008, to December 10, 2010. The affected vehicles have fuel vapor canisters whose purge valves may not operate properly resulting in abnormal pressure changes in the fuel tank.

The pressure changes may cause the tank to crack and leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle powertrain control modules and inspect the vehicle for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for this issue and perform a leak test on the Canister Purge Valve (CPV). The fuel tank will be inspected for cracks. The CPV and fuel tank will be replaced as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S34.

  10. EquipmentMay 29, 2014

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain all weather driver side accessory floor mats sold for use in model year 2006-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2007-2011 Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured November 9, 2007, through October 31, 2010. The affected floor mats may move and possibly interfere with the accelerator pedal.

The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install new replacement mats, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S07. NOTE: Vehicles built after October 31, 2010, while potentially equipped with the same floor mats, are equipped with a Brake Over Accelerator (BOA) feature that prevents simultaneous accelerator and brake application, allowing the vehicle to be safely stopped by pressing firmly and steadily on the brake pedal.

  1. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Aug 1, 2013

I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE TOLLWAY AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO CONGESTION. MY CAR MADE A LUNGE, LIKE A HARD DOWNSHIFT AND WAS LEFT WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AS INDICATED BY THE TACHOMETER AND POWER STEERING, HOWEVER I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, NEARLY BEING REAR ENDED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I TURNED ON THE FLASHERS AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I LET THE CAR SET FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE RESTARTING. UPON RESTART THE CAR RAN FINE AS THOUGH NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. I HAD A SECOND OCCURRENCE JUST TODAY (8/1/2013). I NOW HAVE AN ENGINE LIGHT AND HAVE READ THE CODE - P2112. THE DEALERSHIP/SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT I CALLED MENTIONED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD FUSION. *TR

I WAS DRIVING TO MY MOTHER HOUSE TO PICK UP MY SON MY CAR SUDDENLY JUST LOST ALL POWER. IT WAS STILL RUNNING BUT NOT ACCELERATING. IT WAS VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT TURNED THE CAR OFF WHEN I RESTARTED IT CAME RIGHT BACK ON AFTER THAT I HAD NO TROUBLE THAT NIGHT. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER MY SON AND I WERE HEADED HOME IT DID THIS TO ME AGAIN BUT WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IT HAD MORE TROUBLE AND ONLY ALLOWED ME TO 100 YARD OR SO. MY MECHANIC CLEANED THE PART IT DID FINE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER MONTH OR SO UNTIL THIS PAST MONDAY 7/29/13. I HAVE CURRENTLY BOUGHT A NEW THROTTLE BODY AND IT HAS SEEMED TO FIX THIS CAR. FORD NEEDS TO REALIZE THIS A PROBLEM.THE CAR HAS STOPPED ON ME NUMEROUS TIME AND COULD HAVE CAUSED MANY ACCIDENT. I BEGAN LOOKING AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUES AMONG THIS CAR. ITS TIME FOR A RECALL. I MUST SAY THAT I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE A MECHANIC FOR A DAD BECAUSE I WAS QUOTED ALMOST 700 DOLLARS FOR THIS JOB AND LUCKY HE COULD DO THIS FOR FREE WITH ONLY THE COST OF THE PART. *TR

  3. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Aug 1, 2013

THE CAR LOST THROTTLE RESPONSE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR THEN STARTED IDLING VERY ROUGH. TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND IT WAS FINE UNTIL I PULLED BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND IT LOST POWER AGAIN. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR APPROX 30 MIN. TURNED IT BACK ON THEN DROVE TO AN AUTO ZONE AND GOT A P2111 ERROR CODE WHICH STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS STUCK OPEN OR CLOSED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND ESTIMATED COST TO REPLACE WAS $400. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FUSION. *TR

  5. Vehicle speed control, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 31, 2013

WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH WHEN THE CAR LOST ALL PROPULSION. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER, SHUT IT DOWN, AND START BACK UP AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE. THIS OCCURRED 3 TIMES ON A 25 MILE DRIVE. APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY BASED ON THE CODES BEING THROWN OFF. THE CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES AND BASED ON MULTIPLE USER BOARDS THIS IS A PROBLEM FORD IS AWARE OF. UNACCEPTABLE FOR SUCH A KEY PART TO FAIL SO EARLY IN ITS LIKE. IF I WAS STUCK IN THE LEFT LANE THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR

  6. Vehicle speed control, Jul 31, 2013

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO IDLE. THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED AS IT FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PART CAUSED FIVE PROBLEMS. ONCE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL. THE CONSUMER STATED THROTTLE BODY WOULD FAIL AT ANY SPEED, AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUST IDLE.

  7. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jul 31, 2013

MULTIPLE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE CRUISING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THEN LOSE ALL ENGINE POWER AND THE CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I NEED TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEREVER I AM, INCLUDING BUSY TRAFFIC. THE CAR CONTINUES TO SHAKE WHILE SHIFTING INTO PARK. AFTER IN PARK, I TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT 30 SECONDS, THEN START IT AGAIN. THE SHAKING CEASES UPON RESTARTING, AND WILL DRIVE FINE FOR 5-10 MINUTES BEFORE REPEATING THE INCIDENT OVER AGAIN AND LOSING ALL ENGINE POWER. A FORD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY. THE REPAIR COST OVER $500. *TR

  8. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jul 30, 2013

THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. WHEN I REACH SPEEDS AROUND 45 AND ABOVE, THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL AND THE THROTTLE CUTS OUT, LEAVING ME WITHOUT A WAY TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF BUSY HIGHWAYS, LET MY CAR REST FOR A LITTLE BIT THEN START IT BACK UP. IT SEEMS RELUCTANT TO START. TOOK IT TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONCLUDED IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND I WOULD NEED IT REPLACED. GOOGLED FORD FUSION THROTTLE BODY AND MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN, INCLUDING ACCIDENTS CAUSE BY IT. *TR

  9. Vehicle speed control, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 30, 2013

CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE WOULD RESTART BUT RAN VERY ROUGH. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE OTHER OCCASION WAS AT AN INTERSECTION. BOTH TIMES THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO AUTONATION IN UNION CITY, GEORGIA. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON I-85 SOUTH APPROXIMATELY 50-60 MPH IN MODERATELY HEAVY TRAFFIC, BETWEEN EXITS 27 AND 26, THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT DROPPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE ACCELERATING. I WAS ABLE TO MERGE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR CONTINUED DECELERATING AND THE "WRENCH LIGHT" APPEARED. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. WHEN STOPPED (AT THE RAMP FOR EXIT 26), THE CAR RATTLED AND IDLED VERY HARD AND WAS SHAKING. THE BATTERY LIGHT APPEARED, THEN THE OIL LAMP APPEARED AND THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I WAS TOWED AN HOUR LATER TO KEITH HAWTHORNE FORD IN BELMONT. ON MONDAY, JULY 29, 2013, THE SERVICE MANAGER, STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED; WHEN THEY HOOKED-UP THE CAR TO THE TESTING MACHINE, IT DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES. THEY REPLACED THE FAILED THROTTLE BODY, I PAID FOR REPAIRS AND HAVE THE FAILED THROTTLE BODY IN MY POSSESSION. *TR

  11. Fuel system, Gasoline, Vehicle speed control, Jul 29, 2013

FOUR INCIDENCES SINCE ONSET. WHEN ACCELERATING, AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CAR APPEARS TO STALL. A "WRENCH" (MAINTENANCE) LIGHT COMES ON. THEN, WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL, IT APPEARS AS IF THE CAR DOES NOT RECEIVE FUEL. PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN OFF AND RESTART CAR AND PROCEEDS NORMALLY. *TR

DRIVING CAR DOWN THE STREET AND IT WENT INTO IDLE MODE. HAD TO PULL OFF STREET. CAR HAD NO POWER. TURNED CAR OFF AND WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND RESTARTED. RAN FINE FOR A WHILE AFTER THAT. THE FAILURE HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY AS TIME WENT BY. HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED ON JULY 18. CAR HAS RAN FINE SINCE THEN. *TR

  13. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jul 29, 2013

I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY LOCAL STREET AT APPROX 25 MPH. THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND WAS STUCK IN A ROUGH IDLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES NOW. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT IS KNOWN TO FORD (FAULTY THROTTLE BODY). SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE SOON OR GET HURT IN AN ACCIDENT IF THE CAR LOSES POWER LIKE THIS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. FORD SHOULD DO A RECALL NOW! *TR

  14. Vehicle speed control, Jul 29, 2013

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND STARTED TO SLOW DOWN NATURALLY (ALMOST LIKE I HAD MOVED IT INTO NEUTRAL). PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DID NOTHING, AND ALL MY ELECTRONICS STAYED ON. THE CAR DID NOT SHUTTER OR SHAKE, JUST A NATURAL SLOWDOWN. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE LANES QUICKLY ON THE FREEWAY AND PULL OVER. I STOPPED MY CAR AND RESTARTED IT AND EVERYTHING WORKED AS NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES THAT DAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, BUT HAVE NOTICED ALL THE CLAIMS OVER THE MAST 2 MONTHS IN REGARD TO THIS ISSUE. I CALLED FORD AND THERE IS NO RECALL YET. I AWAIT A CALL FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP BUT EXPECT IT TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR

  15. Fuel system, Gasoline, Vehicle speed control, Jul 28, 2013

ON MORE THAT ONE RECENT OCCASION WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS, THE CAR'S ENGINE WOULD START IDLING POORLY, AND THE CAR WOULD START COASTING AND NOT RESPONDING TO THE GAS PEDAL. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT 30 SECONDS AND RESTART THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR ON 7/24/13, AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE. FROM SEARCHING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THIS ISSUE IS VERY COMMON, AS MANY OTHER FORD FUSION OWNERS EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE AT AROUND THE 30-35K MILE MARK OF OWNERSHIP. FROM THE INVOICE GIVEN TO ME BY THE DEALER AFTER THE SERVICE, THE ERROR CODE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY WAS P2111, WHICH IS DESCRIBED AT THE FOLLOWING WEB PAGE: HTTP://WWW.NCCONSUMER.ORG/NEWS%20ARTICLES/NCCC%20PETITIONS%20NHTSA%20FOR%20DEFECT%20INVESTIGATION%20INTO%20FORD%20ESCAPE%20VEHICLES.HTML I WAS ON A LOCAL ROAD WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND, BUT OTHERS DESCRIBED HAVING THE ENGINE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS ON HIGHWAYS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION TO BE IN, AND IF THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD VEHICLES, THEN IT'S HIGHLY POSSIBLE SOMEONE COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IF THE THROTTLE BODY STARTS MALFUNCTIONING AT THE WRONG PLACE/TIME. WHILE TRAVELING APROX 65MPH DOWN A 4 LANE HWY AT 6:20 AM ON 6/24/13, MY CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND/ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THE RED "WRENCH" LIGHT LIT UP ON THE INFORMATION CENTER ON THE DASH BOARD. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE IT FINALLY CUT OFF. I WAITED A MINUTE OR TWO AND TRIED ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND IT RESTARTED SUCCESSFULLY. I WAS ABLE TO CAUTIOUSLY CONTINUE DRIVING UNTIL I REACHED A FORD DEALERSHIP LATER THAT MORNING AT WHICH POINT THEY TOLD ME IT THE THROTTLE BODY. THEY WENT ON TO SAY THAT FORD WAS NOT COVERING THIS REPAIR AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL IN EFFECT! THIS REPAIR COST ME $300 OF WHICH I COULD NOT SPARE FROM MY BUDGET! THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO CARS OR TRACTOR TRAILER BEHIND WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE! THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE MANY PEOPLE ARE KILLED!!!! *TR

THROTTLE BODY SHORTED BATTERY AND CAUSED ENGINE TO STALL IN TRAFFIC. WHEN TRYING TO RESTART, ENGINE SPED UP FAST BECAME VERY DANGEROUS. FORD HAS THESE THROTTLE BODYS ON BACK ORDER... THAT'S SAD. PLS RECALL ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE. *TR

DRIVING DOWN A SIX LANE HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN, BARELY IDLING. WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CAR STALLED. WAS TOWED TO A SHOP WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS MISDIAGNOSED AS A BAD BATTERY. NEW BATTERY PUT IN AND SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED 36 HOURS LATER. COMPUTER WAS CHECKED THIS TIME AND WAS GIVING A P2111 ERROR CODE WHICH IS A STUCK THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. COULD HAVE BEEN A REAL PROBLEM IF THE EVENT HAPPENED AT INTERSTATE SPEED, OR MAKING A LEFT TURN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. INTERNET IS FULL OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING THE GAS PEDAL BEGINS TO SHAKE AND THEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY. HAVE READ SEVERAL REVIEWS/COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT BEING THE THROTTLE BODY, AND THAT'S WHAT IT IS. $800, AND WARRANTY IS EXPIRED, BUT BROUGHT THE CAR IN PREVIOUSLY TO FORD WITH THE SAME ISSUES, THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS THEN. DON'T FEEL I SHOULD PAY FOR A MISTAKE MADE BY FORD. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE BECAME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS OVER 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

WENT TO START CAR IN DRIVEWAY AND IT STARTED IN LIMP MODE. LET IT SIT OVERNIGHT AND IT STARTED FINE AND RAN OKAY FOR ANOTHER 9 DAYS. THEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN RURAL HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE AGAIN. PULLED OVER, WAITED, RESTARTED, HOPING TO GET TO THE NEXT CITY. HOWEVER, AFTER ANOTHER 7 OR 8 MILES, IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE AGAIN AND I PULLED OFF INTO A PARKING LOT. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO DEAL. FORD SERVICE TOLD ME THIS WAS THE THIRD INSTANCE THEY HAD IN THE LAST WEEK OR TWO, THAT FORD IS NOT PRODUCING THESE PARTS (FOR A KNOWN DEFECT!), AND THAT IT TOOK THEM EIGHT DAYS TO GET THE LAST PART. BESIDES THIS BEING A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, IT IS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE THAT PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE AS WELL. FORD NEEDS TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED! MY FATHER RETIRED FROM FORD AND WE HAVE NEVER DRIVEN ANY OTHER KIND OF VEHICLE BUT THIS SITUATION IS MAKING ME RE-EVALUATE MY LOYALTY TO FORD PRODUCTS. *TR

  23. Vehicle speed control, Jul 25, 2013

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. IT WAS SUDDEN ENOUGH WHERE MY HEAD SMACKED THE STEERING WHEEL. I LATER CAME TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE BODY ON THE CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN A SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS NOW AND THE MECHANICS ARE TELLING ME THAT FORD IS HAVING MASSIVE ISSUES WITH THE PART AND ITS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER FOR UP TO 6 WEEKS. FORD EXECUTIVES SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR SWEEPING THIS UNDER THE RUG AND NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. THIS ALMOST CAUSE A MASSIVE ACCIDENT. *TR

WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD IN TYPICAL CONDITIONS THE POWER COULD CUT OUT ON THE ENGINE. ELECTRICAL POWER WOULD STILL BE ON BUT NO POWER WOULD GO TO THE ENGINE FORCING ME TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND CAUSED A MINOR BUMP WITH A TRAFFIC BARREL. FORD LISTS THIS AS SERVICE NOTICE WHEN IT SHOULD BE A RECALL, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED HAD I NOT HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO AVOID THE SEMI TRUCK SPEEDING BEHIND ME. *TR

  25. Vehicle speed control, Jul 25, 2013

THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND HAPPENED 3 TIMES ON 7/24/13 - I AM IN TRAFFIC ON BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE CAR JUST STALLS. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ALL 3 TIMES TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED. HAD I BEEN DOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 60 I FOR SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH AS MUCH TRAFFIC THAT IS ON THE 10. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR
