    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

    A brake fluid leak will increase brake pedal travel and extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S12.

  2. Steering, steering wheel/handle barMar 12, 2018

    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Lincoln MKZ and Ford Fusion vehicles. The steering wheel retaining bolt may loosen allowing the steering wheel to detach while driving.

    A steering wheel detachment can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering wheel bolt with a longer bolt, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S08.

  3. Power train, automatic transmission, torque converterJul 6, 2017

    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Lincoln MKZ and Ford Edge and Fusion vehicles. On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded.

    If the torque converter weld studs fail, the torque converter will not be connected to the engine flexplate and the vehicle will lose the ability to move, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Ford or Lincoln will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. The recall began August 25, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S16.

    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured September 27, 2016, to September 28, 2016. The left rear seat backs pivot pins may have been improperly welded.

    During a crash, the improper welds may fail, allowing any stowed luggage to move into the passenger compartment, increasing the risk of injury.

    Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left hand, second row seat back frame, free of charge. The recall began January 10, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S43.

    A known issue on the 1.5 ecoboost happened which allowed coolant inntrusion into the cylinders. Only certain vins qualify for the recall, even though more of them have the same issue. My car needs a new engine but the vin does not show a recall.

    The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and call her husband. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. The contact stated that the dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with a crack in the head gasket and that coolant was leaking into the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

    Sudden loss of power while driving, misfiring causing sudden jerk while driving, almost rear-ended, white smoke/steam now showing from exhaust. Apparent engine coolant leak. While the 2017 Fusion 2.0L ecoboost is in the coolant leak recall this VIN is not showing a recall. Car is not safe or operable with this condition. It is available for inspection

    The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that it was difficult to start the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered, and there was grey smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle was experiencing excessive coolant consumption. The vehicle was taken to Miller Auto, where and unknown spark plug was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was coolant intrusion into the engine, causing cylinders #1, #2, and #3 to misfire. Additionally, the cylinder overtemperature protection was activated. The mechanic determined that the engine or the short block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

    Engine codes P0300 and P0302 engine misfires. Engine has unsteady idle and feels sluggish. Engine is consuming coolant. All of these symptoms relate to ford class action lawsuit [XXX] and ford customer program Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12 Certain 2017-2019 Model Year Fusion and Escape Vehicles Equipped with a 1.5L GTDI Engine – Short Block Replacement After Coolant Intrusion But there is no recall for my vehicle to repair it when it’s clearly an engine defect per their own admission [XXX] needs to enforce a recall.     There is a recall on 2017 Ford Fusion's torque converter. I currently have a 2017 Ford Fusion. After inspection at a Ford service dealership, the "torque converter clutch internally failed filling the transmission filter with metal debris and starving the pump for fluid causing debris to go throughout the transmission." The problem with this, is that even though it's list as a recall for ,y specific car, the recall is not listed under my VIN number. This inspection was done on December 17, 2024. The safety of myself and children were put at risk when my car hesitated to accelerate on multiple occurrences on busy roads and intersections. The problem has been reproduced by a Ford dealer and has also been inspected by a Ford service dealership. There were no warning lights on indicating that there was a problem.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the failure was a blown head gasket and engine failure due to coolant intrusion. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact referenced Technical Service Bulletin: 22-2229; however, the repair was not covered under the TSB. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under any recalls or special programs. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

The contact later observed that the coolant reservoir was empty though it had been refilled the day before. The blank warning light was illuminated. The contact’s son left the vehicle parked. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired because the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 20 MPH, made an abnormal clunking sound, with an engine misfire while shuddering significantly.     The engine died and the car shut off in the middle of trying to drive the car. All maintenance has been done on time, all recalls have been done but one (brake line hose) which was scheduled to be repaired. The car is a 2017 with 128k miles on the engine and I did NOT get any engine light notifications to indicate anything was wrong prior to the engine dying. This is a major safety concern especially since no indication lights were displayed prior to the issue.

    Engine began to overheat. Drove home. Started up the next morning and it smelled liek somethin was burning. Took it a car repair. He said the collant had leaked into the engine block and the engine had to be replaced. 6 to 8 thousand dollars. Car only has 47,000 miles on it. There is a recall for the 2017 Ford Fusion for cars with ecoboost engines. Mine does not have thtat, but i see on line there a lot of people who have had this problem.
