Water getting in cab
Engine, Aug 19, 2023
The lifter valves for the dynamic fuel management system have failed twice resulting in an immediate loss of power, rough driving, and low speed. To replace the first time, it cost $3500 at a mechanic. The 2nd time that it happened (8 months later), we now have to have the engine replaced and it cost almost $10,000. GM has refused to take any ownership in these faulty lift valves and someone is going to lose control of their vehicle when this occurs.

Power train, Jul 31, 2023
Transmission has created shuttering at speed and jarring total stop decelerating from 2nd into 1st gear. Beyond the transmission this vehicle completely stopped and lost power at 55 mph due to faulty valve lifters and pitted cam lobe. These were two separate incidents. Transmission cause lose of power on incline. Valve lifters cause lose of power at high speeds. The dash board read outs no longer worked and I was on a Highway without the ability to maintain speed.

Power train, Jul 18, 2023
The transmission causes the vehicle to shudder, lurch from a stop, at times it won't move forward (from a stoplight etc), it won't reverse other times. When driving down a freeway, the transmission allows the engine RPM to surge wildly as if I had put it in neutral and pressed the accelerator. This started at 85k miles approximately. It's into 90k now. The transmission had to be replaced at a cost of $6000
Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 16, 2023
Were driving and vehicle repeatedly suddenly braked in the middle of interstate or highway without any warning. We are so traumatized, and scared of this vehicle. It has happened before. Dealership says there is nothing they can do. This could have caused our life. GMC should be held accountable.

Oil cooler line detached from crimp while driving at highway speeds forcing the vehicle to an emergency stop on the side of the road. All oil pressure was lost immediately and entire underside of vehicle including tires, brakes, and wheels were all coated in oil. Known issue for same year, make, and model that has already been listed from NHTSA. But, apparently this VIN was not in the affected range.

Service brakes, Jun 9, 2023
driving home at low speed truck would hardly stop took it to dealer-suburban gmc troy mi. received a letter afterwards that brake control module was not repaired properly and needed to return for repair truck showed about 15000 miles on odometer April 2020 and showed 51% brake life on rear brakes-when I asked if brake were worn I was told no and dashboard now read 91% brake life on rear brakes-in March2023 with 28000 miles on the odometer my brake monitor alert came on and when I returned to the dealer I was told that my rear brakes were down to 15% and needed to be replaced. Everyone tells me front brakes should wear out first and rear brakes should last much longer.
Suspension, May 17, 2023
I was driving the vehicle heard a loud thumping sound got out to look and the driver side tire was nearly off the vehicle! Had I been driving on the highway I could've been killed/seriously injured by loss of control by way of steering. It looks like the upper control arm completely seperated from the tire at the ball joint causing the tire to fall away from the vehicle. There is a current recall out there for this make, year, and model. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. No warning lamps or messages have appeared.
Power train, May 15, 2023
Transmission is slipping into neutral from a slow start and re-engaging with a hard bang to the point it feels like I’ve been rear ended from a vehicle behind me. It’s done it twice in two weeks and it seems to happen when I’m leaving from a stop or slowing down and then come back into the accelerator.
Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, May 11, 2023
I were driving at low speed and all 4 wheels locked causing the vehicle to suddenly stop without notice. I almost got rear ended. I had to put vehicle in park and turn off and turn back on to get it to move. Again it did the same thing stoping with brakes locking suddenly, almost causing an accident in middle of road. There was no warning at all.
Suspension, May 8, 2023
Driver's side front wheel assembly separated from the vehicle. It was hard to tell exactl what happened but I am told that it may have been a ball joint failure. I was driving in the middle lane on the highway with cruise control set to 70MPH. All of a sudden, my truck jumped up and my truck starting pushing towards the left median. I thought I had a tire blow out. Luckily there wasn't anyone in the left lane at the time and I was able to get to the grassy left median. If there was another vehicle in the left lane and or if the left median wasn't grass, this would have caused a major accident as I has no control over where the truck was going. When I got out I saw that my entire wheel had separated from the vehicle and it was on its face under the truck. I did not hit a pothole. There was no prior indication that anything was wrong with the assembly. A tow truck was called and brought the truck back to their shop. The assembly had to be replaced, (ball joint, axel, steering control arms etc.). I called my local GMC dealer and they have nothing being reported of this issue but when I looked online I've seen multiple reports of premature failures of ball joints. Total repairs so far have been $3,400.00 and I still need to replace a cracked rim. Repairs will be over $4,000 when all said and done.
Engine, May 3, 2023
According to inspection by my local GMC dealership, the engine oil cooler lines leaked/detached, as a result the engine assembly needs to be completely redone. When driving on the highway the car began flashing to immediately pull over and turn the vehicle off, the engine became very hot and was smoking and oil was found all over the ground upon inspection after immediately stopping the vehicle. This vehicle has been inspected by the Carlsbad GMC/Buick Dealership. There were no warning messages prior to this event. The car has consistently received all recommended preventative maintenance and oil changes. As a consumer I am now on the hook for over $15,000 in repairs, after complying with all maintenance recommendations from the manufacturer. There is an active recall for an identical model and make as this car for the same issue, the recall number is: N212326940 (customer satisfaction program number) and DCS5833 (Global safety field investigations number). I am very confused as to why this recall has not been applied to my vehicle.
Electrical system, Service brakes, Apr 24, 2023
Was driving around 70 MPH brakes started engaging and disengaging truck felt like engine was missing, brake light luminated and stated to stop vehicle ABS light luminated as I got to the emergency lane I had no brakes pedal went to floor and I came to a stop after coasting and pressing pedal. Once stopped trailer towing light luminated ( I was not towing anything). I exited truck and it was apparent this was a issue with the front brakes as they were smoking. Rotors appear to have marks in them when compared to rear. After about 30 minutes I started truck and there was no indication on dash of a problem had brake pedal. The truck has 50800 miles on it. Contacted dealer (Hendricks Chevy) this morning they said it was not covered and no recalls I discussed brake issues I read on line again they repeated no recalls in system for my truck, but would be glad to look at it in 2 weeks.
Suspension, Apr 18, 2023
At 50,000 miles the upper control arm/ball joint on the driver side came apart with no warning causing considerable damage to the suspension, tires, wheel, and front bumper. About two months before at approximately 48,000 miles the passenger side control arm/ball joint came apart again with no warning. Warranty has just elapse and GM has denied any responsibility and will not cover any of the repairs. This could have easily been catastrophic if we would have been on the freeway. This is a Safety issue! This truck has the aluminum upper control arms which my opinion for what its worth is the problem. I have no clue at this time how we are going to be able to fix this. Even when it is fixed we will never trust it.
Engine, Apr 18, 2023
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he parked the vehicle and became aware that oil was leaking underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine oil cooler line to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Customer Satisfaction Program Number: N212326940 (Engine Oil Cooler Lines Detaching from Crimp); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

A quick research on google revealed several people with the same issue. I’m having to pay for this out of pocket for an obvious issue with GMC & Chevy trucks.

Engine had catastrophic failure while driving down highway with no warning. No check engine light. Loud bang and loud metal on metal slapping with violent shaking of front end of truck. Towed to dealer. So far they say lifter failed, and push rod collapsed and drove through engine block. 40000miles, 2019 Sierra 1500 Denali with 6.2l V8.
