ABS Control module, went out while driving on the interstate , causing vehicle to go into limp mode , and almost causing multiple vehicle accidents, loss traction Control, emergency brake light, and abs warning light on

  3. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Aug 19, 2026

The abs module on many of these vehicles has a known fault. You can’t find replacement parts, even the Jeep dealership can’t get them. Many ppl are driving around with faulty modules, on a waiting list for parts. I’m one of those people. All has been fine until I was driving toward 228 business in Angleton to turn towards Walmart. I was going about 45-48 and went to brake to slow down for the stop sign. My brakes were soft instead of firm and it locked up and skid on me. I didn’t hit anything but had someone been behind me it could have been different. It scared me. Now I’m scared to drive it and have no fix for it.

  4. Service brakes, Hydraulic, Jul 28, 2026

The ABS, cruise control, and traction control features were disabled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with an ABS module failure. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were no longer being manufactured. The contact stated that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

  5. Service brakes, Jul 22, 2026

For the past two years I have experience intermittent problems with my Jeep ABS system, I ordered the replacement module part # 68145835AE from an authorized dealership on April 2025, and paid $697.39 after more than a year on back order the sales representative told me to cancel the order because they did not have any information form Stellantis North America on when the part will be available. This is the second complaint I filed with NHTSA in a year and I plan to go up to the President if I have to since this is safety concern.

  6. Service brakes, Apr 21, 2026

Multiple warning light activations (ABS, TCS, hill descent) diagnosed by mechanic as failed ABS module (combines electronic and hydraulic components) (PN: 68145835AE). I have been on a waiting list for a replacement part from Stellantis for almost a year. Numerous owners report online that this part is unavailable or no longer being manufactured. Stellantis has not publicly acknowledged the problem or provided a proposed solution or timeline. ABS is widely acknowledged as a key component of modern automobile safety systems. Stellantis's failure to provide replacement components for these modern vehicles places the driving public at unnecessary risk. A recommended resolution is that Stellantis provide NHTSA with a credible plan of action to begin providing replacements for this critical component (and other related part numbers).

ABS module failure C2200. Repair parts not available.

  8. Service brakes, Feb 17, 2026

ABS system faile, There is no replacement part to correct the fault, and there is no replacement date, code C2200

  9. Electrical system, Service brakes, Feb 15, 2026

The dash displayed multiple warning ICONS and I carried the Jeep to a mechanic. They discovered that the ABS Module, which is the anti braking system, had a fault error and needed to be replaced. After multiple attempts have found out that this particular ABS Module, OEM Part number (68145835AE) is no longer available by Jeep Chrysler and has not been available for the past few years. This means the Jeep is not safe to drive if the roads are wet or icy due to the possibility of loosing the brakes from skidding/loss of control of the vehicle.

  10. Service brakes, Feb 2, 2026

ABS brake module (Part # 68145835AE) is a known defect on Jeep Wranglers 2012-2014. This part becomes defective, eliminating the ABS braking feature, also causing other transmission related problems. The real problem is Mopar support. Currently, NATIONALLY, this part is, and has been on back order (over 300 backorders) with no expectations of being available. I have been waiting for this part for over 6 months (no ABS) and problems with the vehicle have been escalating. This is a known problem, discussed on JEEP Forum.com, Mopar parts suppliers and among dealerships

  11. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jan 30, 2026

ABS has gone out and there are no new repair parts available from Jeep

  12. Service brakes, Jan 15, 2026

ABS module malfunction. This has been an ongoing problem for Jeep Wranglers of this year, previous and later. Jeep recalled other models for ABS module malfunctions. Being a retired auto worker am aware that same components are used on other models to defer manufacturing costs. Vehicle lot numbers do NOT isolate the problem. Bulk purchase of components should be checked per manufacturing date. I have taken my vehicle to dealer for diagnosis and they say the ABS module is bad, BUT part is on back order with no real time date ( could be 2 weeks or 6 months)for delivery. Jeep dealer wants me to pickup vehicle until part arrives. Driving vehicle under this condition could cause brakes to seize, not work at all, fire and/or a possibility of an accident! Jeep knows and has know this is a problem but never a recall on this model. Researching other Jeep owners and Jeep forums it is documented of this problem and the expense that an owner has to incur to get it resolved! Jeep has made no effort evidently to recognize this problem with the example being that parts are back ordered. Then again there is a real problem and the original part was junk but now the owner is stuck with the bill and all the safety issues because new parts are back ordered.

  13. Electrical system, Air bags, Service brakes, Dec 15, 2025

THE 2012 Jeep 4 door Wrangler had the ABS Control Module internal error failure, this makes the car unsafe to drive. The dealer cannot get repair parts, the car is un-repaired since October 2025. Further, they cannot source the chips for the components, the make cannot provide a delivery date.(UNKNOWN when this will be rectified. Other years of this car have been recalled for this issue. This year has not yet. PLEASE Help us !)

  14. Vehicle speed control, Service brakes, Oct 27, 2025

After replacing right front speed sensor, ABS module shows malfunction and vehicle goes into limp mode. Replacement ABS modules are unavailable from mfg.

  15. Service brakes, Nov 26, 2024

For more than one year I have problems with the Anti-Lock Brake System Module - Mopar part #(68145835AE). Every time I place an order it get canceled because Jeep and or the supplier have the part on back order. I wonder when the NHTSA is going to intervene with this company, before an tragedy happens and someone get kill because the Jeep don't brake like is suppose to be.

  16. Service brakes, Air, Traction control system, Engine, Oct 15, 2024

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the ABS, Traction Control and check engine warning lights had remained illuminated. The contact indicated that while pressing the brake pedal to stop, the brake pedal extended to the floor causing the braking distance to become extended. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the ABS module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 55,000.

  17. Service brakes, Jan 5, 2024

While interstate driving the vehicle dash dinged, I looked down to find the ABS, Traction Control and Emergency Brake came on. I immediately pulled off the interstate for a visual inspection of the breaks and brake fluid but did not see any glaring issues. I took the vehicle to a local shop, they read the code (C2200) and advised I needed a new ABS Control Module (Mopar Part #68145835AE). The local shop advised the Module is difficult to find, but they found one and would complete the work for $2,400.00 ($1,500 of which was for the ABS Module part). I called a local Chrystler, dodge, Jeep (Lou Fusz) dealer in O'Fallon to price verify the part. I scheduled an appointment for three weeks out. They also confirmed the code and need to replace the ABS Module for $1,500.00 ($881.00 of which was for the ABS Module part); HOWEVER, Jeep-Mopar told the dealership that the part is not available until March 20 of 2024 which would leave me with two options. 1) Sell the vehicle to the dealer; however, their offer took advantage of the ABS issue and was extremely low 2) Wait and drive the faulty vehicle Driving the Jeep with a faulty ABS Module may jeopardize critical systems, resulting in poor braking performance and potentially create a very dangerous or deadly situation. A search of this issue online in Jeep Forums has shown mass number of similar issues and others experiencing the same part deadly; meaning there are an untold number of jeeps driving with a faulty ABS Module. I pled to the NHTSA to please investigate and pressure Jeep to issue a Recall to ensure safety.

  20. Steering, Electrical system, Service brakes, Jan 17, 2023

The vehicle will die while driving it, it is a automatic so you loose power steering power brakes and the engine is completely shut off you have to safely pull over and not get hit to put vehicle in park sometimes it starts in park, sometime it just turns over and you have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for vehicle to start. Dealer keeps telling me there is no issue with the vehicle, and they cannot replicate issue. I fear for me and my family's life every day in my jeep wrangler.

  21. Vehicle speed control, Service brakes, Dec 8, 2022

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED (VIN: [XXX]). WITHIN 1 MONTH OF TAKING POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CAR BEGAN TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. SPECIFICALLY, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE POWER STEERING AND BREAKS DEACTIVATE. TO STATE THE OBVIOUS, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION, PARTICULARLY AS OUR FAMILY HAS THREE CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF SIX. TO DATE, LARRY MILLER JEEP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AS NO ERROR CODES APPEAR. LOOKING ONLINE, THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECT WITH JEEPS OF MY MODEL YEAR (HTTPS://WWW.WRANGLERFORUM.COM/THREADS/ELECTRICAL-PROBLEM-SHUTS-OFF-WHILE-DRIVING.190041/) SO I AM SURPRISED THAT JEEP HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM GIVEN THE DIRE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES. I HAVE ESCALATED THIS MATTER TO YOUR CUSTOMER CARE GROUP, BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE FCA HAS SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OF THIS SITUATION AS WELL. CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT WAS OUT, ABS LIGHT, ANTI-SKID LIGHT AND PARKING BRAKE LIGHT WERE ON. TOUCHED THE BRAKE SLIGHTLY AND JEEP WENT INTO A SKID. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS NEXT TO ME. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THE ABS MODULE HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 38000 MILES ON IT.

PARKING BRAKE PROPERLY ADJUSTED TWICE, STILL UNABLE TO HOLD VEHICLE AT 7 DEGREE INCLINE SLOPED DRIVEWAY. EVEN TRIED OVER-TIGHTENING THE STAR WHEEL ADJUSTER FOR THE BRAKE PADS, STILL DOES NOT HOLD VEHICLE. CONCLUSION, 2012 JEEP WRANGLER JKU IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE FCA DESIGNED PARKING BRAKE, THIS VEHICLE WILL CREATE A CRASH WHEN IT MOVES OUT OF A PARKING SPACE INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE OF UNDER DESIGNED PARKING BRAKE.
