Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. While driving with no warning the fuse array went bad causing the Jeep to lose all power including power steering and started jerk and pulsate. Everything turned off and left the vehicle stranded for several minutes in the middle of a dark street at night. Hazard lights did not work as well during this time. After continuously pushing the start button it started back up with the dashboard showing all different warnings with the clearest one in the middle of the dash reading “stop safely the vehicle will shut off soon” the vehicle was taken to the local dealership where it did the same thing for them. Later it was confirmed by them it was the fuse array.

THIS IS A MANUFACTURER HAZARD, ANY ONE CAN BE HURT. THIS HAPPEN TO ME IN THE RAIN , MULTIPLE TIMES, EXITING FROM FWY . I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN ON THE EMEGENCY LIGHTS , I HAD MY NEWBORN IN THE CAR. I HAD TO STAND OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN WITH MY HANDS UP, LETTING THE TRAFFIC GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara numerous fault vehicle slows down speedometer loss abs brake warning ,4 wheel drive service warning, blind spot warning, complete loss of power while driving. Taken to the Jeep dealer was told no fault codes available come get it. So making preparation to pick up vehicle finally dealer service reported that vehicle faulted with those code. I had the vehicle towed prior to service due to the transmission not being able to shift into any gear. There are several reports online with same problem total electrical system failure. Keep n mind vehicle has approximately 7500 miles. Vehicle currently under what they call Star service because Dealer has no idea to fix it.

Clutch failed at 4000 miles and 3 months of ownership on a brand new 2019 Wrangler Unlimited. Blame placed on me, 2 dealerships before they would do it with out charge. 3 months later 1st recall comes out. Also when clutch was failing the Start/Stop system said it needed service. The clutch went a second time after 30,000 miles. was forced to pay 2900, second recall came out at same time and the recall was done when new clutch was installed. Took almost a month and no loaner car or rental available. Now clutch starting to smell and fail, 30,000 miles later. Poor clutch, recalls did nothing to actually address the prob. The start/stop system failed twice leaving my jeep in run but the engine off and would not start. Kept saying push in clutch and start, but it would never start. all electrical in the car stayed on for 2 hours. A PCM needed to be replaced, 2+ weeks without a vehicle. Start/Stop failed again in traffic this time, needing to be pushed. Replaced battery, thought that it failed because the battery needed replacement. The problem still persists.

2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited---while driving the vehicle on a city street, without any warning, all of the dash lights and any/all warnings lights started to flash. Within 200 feet of this occurring, the vehicle lost power, including ability to control the steering, and the car came to an immediate stop. During this shut down instance, I was able to vigorously hold the steering wheel to guide the car to the side of the road, avoiding the traffic that came. After the car shut down, the dash lights and windshield wipers were still going off. It still had electrical power. It would not start back up. I had to have it towed to the dealership. It is currently being looked at by the local dealership. 05-29-22

The dash glitches and lights up all of the warning lights, speed and fuel goes up and down then the engine idles high despite not shifting/touching anything. Then it it completely locked up and cannot shift out of park. If it sits for a while occasionally it will start and only have check engine light on and allow you to shift to drive however while driving I have had the entire dash light up and speedometer/rpms going up and down causing it to run higher. It has been back to the dealer twice now for same issue that was supposedly fixed. It says service shifter, my abs are not working and electronic stability control needs service amongst other things. It is very scary when this has happened while driving on the highway with my children in the car and the fact I never know if I will be able to make it to or from work/picking up kids or if I will be stuck in drive/have engine shut off while driving. This has happened more than once in my 3 weeks of purchasing this vehicle and I am scared for our safety. I have had the codes read prior to going to the dealership and it says multiple things are malfuntioning

Vehicle only had 21421 miles on it. We were having issues with the Jeep reveling at highest RPM when turned on. This happened a handful of times and then it began to seem like it was not going to stay started and was going to stall. We took it into dealer for oil change and reported the issue said they couldn’t find anything. Issue persisted took it back and they ran diagnostic said they couldn’t find anything. Still had the issue occurring so took it back and they said it needed a new starter so they replaced that. Then issue got worse and was stalling out and shaking. Took it back again and they are now replacing the engine. This was really shocking. This is the 4th Jeep wrangler I’ve owned in my life and so have NEVER had major issues with any of them before only normal wear and tear type repairs and upkeep.

THE FIRST TIME THE CAR HAD A SIGN THAT SAID 'STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON' I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF AND WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. THE SECOND TIME I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN I GOT NO MESSAGE OR WARNING AND THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNED OFF, AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. THE THIRD TIME I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND GOT THE 'STOP SAFELY MESSAGE' AS WELL AS VARIOUS OTHER WARNING MESSAGES'THEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN COMPLETELY. WOULDN'T START. THE FORTH TIME, I WAS AT A 4 WAY INTERSECTION WITH A 3 WAY STOP I DID NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN BUT THE PERSON TO MY RIGHT THOUGHT I DID. HE THOUGHT HE HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY, I SLAMMED ON MY BREAKS TO AVOID A COLLISION AND THE CAR STOPPED, COMPLETELY'GAVE ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS AND WOULD NOT RESTART.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN A WINDING MOUNTAIN ROAD, THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE" WARNING CAME ON AS DID VSC, ABS, CHECK ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL. THE STEERING BECAME VERY STIFF AND THE THROTTLE UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ESSENTIALLY OUT OF CONTROL. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALER FOUR TIMES, EACH TIME IT WASN'T FIXED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT A DEALER AND FCA IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I HEARD THE MECHANIC SAY THEY HAD OTHERS THAT WERE DOING THIS. FCA REFUSES TO DESCRIBE WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE TO ME BECAUSE IT'S PROPRIETARY. THEY ESSENTIALLY WANT TO TRY STUFF, THEN HAVE ME RISK MY LIFE TESTING IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS. THE PHOTO IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, ON AN INTERSTATE GOING STRAIGHT. THIS IS A 2019 WRANGLER RUBICON WITH 12K MILES AND COMPLETELY STOCK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND FCA DOESN'T KNOW OR DOESN'T WANT TO SAY WHAT IT IS. THEY SOUND LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER UP THE PROBLEM WITH SOME SORT OF HACKED UP SOFTWARE FIX, BUT THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UPDATED. I AM WORRIED THAT SOMEONE WILL BE HURT OR WORSE IF THIS HAPPENS TO THEM.

WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 55MPH BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE STARTS TO VILENTLY SHAKE AND SLOW DOWN AND JERK, COMPLETE LOST OF POWER, CAN PUSH PEDDLE DOWN AND VEHICLE JUST BOGGS DOWN AND REVS UP THEN DOWN. EVENTUALLY DIES AND THEN YOU MUST SHUT DOWN VEHICLE WITH KEY. WAIT ABOUT 1 MINUTE START AND IT DRIVES FINE. HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES BEEN INTO SHOP. THEY HAVE "FLASHED" COMPUTERS BUT CONTINUES TO DO RANDOMLY.

WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS HOT ENOUGH AND THE A/C IS TURNED ON THE COOLING FAN NOISE BECOMES EXCESSIVE. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE WITH JEEP. THERE'S AN ACTUAL TSB SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS NOISE. TSB 18-041-18 REV B. WHEN I TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALER TO REMEDY,I WAS TOLD THAT MY JEEP WASN'T PART OF THAT TSB AND THE ADMITTED NOISE WAS NORMAL. IF THERE'S A TSB OUT FOR THIS CONDITION,HOW IS IT NORMAL? THAT MEANS ON SOME JEEPS IT'S NOT NORMAL? WHAT'S THE CRITERIA FOR IT TO BE NOT NORMAL? *TR

I PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL IN SEPTEMBER 2019 BRAND NEW 8 MILES ON THE CAR . I GAVE THE CAR TO MY WIFE AS A GIFT . SO SHE STARTED COMPLAINING ABOUT THE STEERING SO WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A COUPLE OF STEERING PARTS LEFT THE DEALER AND RIGHT AWAY I NOTICED THAT IT WAS STILL DRIVING THE SAME WITH TO MUCH PLAY ON THE STEERING . CALLED THEM RIGHT AWAY AND THEY SAID BRING IT BACK THEN A STEERING BOX WAS REPLACED STILL NO CHANGE HARD TO KEEP IN THE LINES SOME TIME IT HAS A HARD SHAKE ON THE RIGHT FRONT . SO WE TOOK IT BACK THEY MAID ADJUSTMENT, STILL THE SAME WIFE IS SCARED TO DRIVE IT . SO TOOK IT BACK 7 DAYS LATER THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG IT DRIVES AS DESIGNED SO 1 1/2 TO 2' PLAY ON THE WHEEL IS NORMAL STILL THE JEEP IS ALL OVER THE LINES AND TO TOP IT OFF MY WIFE WAS PULLED OVER BY FL KEY POLICE THING SHE WAS DRUNK AND HAD TAKE A ALCOHOL TEST AND SHE WAS CLEAN AND LET GO. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE FOR HER . WE DON'T WANT THE CAR ANYMORE WHAT CAN WE DO. MUST OF THIS HAPPENS AFTER 45 MILES PER HOUR . MY CONTACT NUMBER IS 7862852804

THREE WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THIS BRAND NEW JEEP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE ETC AND BATTERY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON TOO. THE ENGINE WAS OFF TWICE ON THE ROAD. THE POWER STEERING LOST POWER SEVERAL TIMES.

MY JEEP WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. ITS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND TIRING TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE STEERING TO STAY IN A LANE. SPECIFICALLY WHEN GOING 50 MPH OR MORE.. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FROM DAY ONE. THERE IS TOO MUCH PLAY IN THE STEERING. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. WE ALREADY DID ONE FACTORY RECALL AND IT DID NOTHING TO CHANGE THE STEERING. IM TIRED OF ALL THE EXCUSES SUCH AS "ITS A JEEP THING,JUST ENJOY IT" OR "THATS JUST HOW IT IS" AS WELL AS THE SUGGESTIONS TO PURCHASE OTHER PARTS AND MODIFICATIONS TO CORRECT THE STEERING OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE. I HAVE DRIVEN MY FAIR SHARE OF OFF ROAD VEHICLES AND IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF WANDERING FROM ANY OF THEM. ALSO, MY WRANGLER HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL SINCE ABOUT 1500 MILES. IVE ALREADY HAD THE REAR MAIN SEAL REPLACED AFTER SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 MONTHS AND THE OIL PAN REPLACED THE 2ND VISIT. I CURRENTLY HAVE AN APPT TO TAKE IT IN FOR A 3RD TIME BECAUSE IT IS STILL LEAKING OIL. MY JEEP HAS LESS THAN 2000 MILES.

PUSH BUTTON START WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. VEHICLE DOES NOT GIVE AUDIBLE WARNING WHEN YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING ON EXIT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE DEATH IF PARKED IN YOUR HOME GARAGE. IT IS VERY EASY PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN PARK AND EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. (I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE WITHIN A 3 MONTH PERIOD) AN AUDIBLE WARNING ON EXIT, WHICH INDICATES THE MOTOR IS STILL RUNNING, WOULD PREVENT THIS FROM TAKING PLACE.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON MAY 1ST 2019 AND PARK THE CAR WITH ONLY APROX. 63 MILES ON IT THAT NIGHT. ON MAY 2ND 2019 AFTER DRIVING A COUPLE OF MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE STOP/START ICON WITH THE EXPLANATION SIGN IN IT CAME ON . I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND NEXT AVAILABLE DAY WAS THAT SATURDAY MAY 4TH 2019 TO BRING BACK TO SECURITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP IN AMITYVILLE, NY. MY VEHICLE WENT IN WITH 88 MILES. MAY 6TH I WAS ADVISED VEHICLE WAS CLEARED FOR PICK UP. GOT TO DEALER AROUND 8:15PM MAY 6TH AND STILL FOUND STOP/START WARNING ICON ILLUMINATED ON VEHICLE.. DEALER COULD NOT FIND ISSUE, THEY PUT OVER 15 MILES ON MY VEHICLE FOR DRIVE CYCLING THE VEHICLE BUT NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. I AM DISSATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME SO FAR AND DONT HAVE MY VEHICLE BACK AS YET AND ITS MAY 8TH 2019.
