  6. Fuel system, gasoline, storage, auxillary tankNov 24, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 21, 2008, to March 4, 2011, and 2010-2011 Mercury Milan vehicles manufactured July 23, 2008, to December 10, 2010. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle powertrain control modules and inspect the vehicle for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for this issue and perform a leak test on the Canister Purge Valve (CPV). The fuel tank will be inspected for cracks. The CPV and fuel tank will be replaced as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will check the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). If dealers find any loss of steering assist DTCs, the steering gear will be replaced, free of charge. 9. Wheels, lugs/nuts/bolts/studsDec 7, 2011

FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 FORD FUSION AND MERCURY MILAN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 17 INCH STEEL WHEELS AND BUILT FROM APRIL 1, 2009, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2009, AND FROM DECEMBER 1, 2009, THROUGH NOVEMBER 13, 2010. THE WHEEL STUDS MAY FRACTURE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING A WHEEL TO SEPARATE.

WHILE DRIVING, MULTIPLE STUD FRACTURES COULD OCCUR AT THE WHEEL LOCATION, AND THE OPERATOR MAY EXPERIENCE VEHICLE VIBRATION AND/OR WHEEL SEPARATION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

FORD WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE REAR BRAKE DISC SURFACE FOR FLATNESS AND REPLACE THE DISCS AS NECESSARY. ADDITIONALLY, THE WHEEL LUG NUTS WILL BE REPLACED ON ALL FOUR WHEELS. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 24, 2012. 1. Steering, Oct 7, 2022

Lost 100% of electrical power steering while driving. Almost went over a drop-off while on a cloverleaf freeway exit which would have caused significant harm or death. The steering wheel was very difficult to turn and I needed to sit up out of my seat to use leverage from my body weight. I pulled over after that and found the closest Ford dealership. I carefully drove to the dealership and waited for them to open. While waiting I researched the issue and realized this was a Safety recall and very common. Recall is 15V340000. Once they opened I went in to see how long the recall would take to fix. The dealership said the safety recall isn't valid due to they reset my ECU when the recall initially came out instead of replacing the recalled safety part. Which allowed them to terminate the recall on my car. They scheduled to look at my car two weeks out and said it would estimate a $2000 bill, when I asked about a loaner vehicle since this is a known safety recall item and driving the car would be a significant risk to self and the others on public roads. They stated I could leave it there for two weeks but they wouldn't provide transportation. Since this is my only vehicle and I live off the Military Base I have to drive to make it to Duty. So I had to keep driving this vehicle on public roads creating a safety issue for myself and others on the road.

  2. Steering, Oct 5, 2022

While I was driving down the road my cars information center showed a message of 'service power steering soon'. Stopped vehicle and restarted it to be met with a new message of 'service power steering now' with a total loss of power steering. Ford dealership tech confirmed a lack of power steering and confirmed the presence of DTC P07AE which was the exact code and issue of recalls 15S18 and 15N01. Recall work was completed by prior owner but there was no replacement of steering gear at the time and only a software update done, which and the issue I had was what the recall was based on. Ford refused to pay for repair stating the recall was closed even though it was 100% the same issue as the recall as confirmed by ford technician.

  4. Power train, Oct 1, 2022

Transmission slipping, lurching, hard shift, jerking while driving. No prior lamp warnings or other symptoms. Break pedal when applied or released after acceleration or just before a complete stop vehicle makes a pin ball bouncing sound then when acceleration repeated transmission issues. This has put my saftey at risk as well as my passengers because of the sudden slipping, lurching, hard shift, jerking while driving. Trying to understand problem I came across a ongoing investigation regarding ford and knowingly using faulty transmission in a multitude of there vehicles in which mine is exhibiting exactly same behaviors.

Power steering went out and very hard to steer, "power steering assist fault" came on. There was no prior warning from the dashboard or the steering. I thought there was a recall on it from what I read. Dealer informed me that is a 10 year warranty and that it expired. I have read many people have this problem. NHTSA and Ford refuse to recognize it as a safety issue for it to be recalled. I guess many people have to be killed or injured before any action is taken.
