  4. Latches/locks/linkages, doors, latchJun 8, 2020

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

  18. Engine and engine coolingDec 3, 2012

This is an update to a recently announced recall. Ford is recalling certain model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured from October 5, 2011, through November 26, 2012, equipped with 1.6L engines, as well as certain model year 2013 Fusion vehicles manufactured from February 3, 2012, through November 29, 2012, equipped with 1.6L engines. Coolant system leaks may cause the engines to overheat and leak flammable engine fluids.

If flammable engine fluids come in contact with the vehicle’s hot exhaust system, a vehicle fire could occur.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine for coolant system leaks and reprogram the vehicle’s powertrain control module and instrument cluster with an updated calibration and overheat strategy software. There will be no charge to owners for this service. Owners were recently notified to contact dealers to arrange for alternative transportation as Ford developed a remedy. Owners will be shortly receiving notifications to contact Ford dealers to schedule the free remedy repair. Owners may contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

  19. Exterior lighting, headlightsNov 30, 2012

Ford is recalling certain model year 2013 Fusion vehicles, manufactured from February 3, 2012, through October 20, 2012, for failing to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." The affected vehicles may not have had the low beam headlamp projector coating properly cured during its manufacturing process.

An improperly cured projector coating will become hazy through operation, over time, reducing the brightness of the low-beam lamp. This may decrease driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the headlamp assembly. The recall began on December 18, 2012. Owners may contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED IT INDICATED A SAFETY SENSOR WASN'T WORKING. EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMED FINE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE AIR/DEFROST SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING CAUSING WINDOWS TO FOG, I ALSO LOST CONTROL OVER THE VOLUME AND ALL OF THE CONSOLE SYSTEMS. ONLY 2 OF THE WINDOWS WOULD GO DOWN. BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER (ABOUT 5 MINUTES) EVERYTHING STARTED WORKING AND AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING MY ELECTRONIC SEAT STARTED MOVING FORWARD. FINALLY STOPPING MAYBE IN ONE OF THE PRE-PROGRAMED POSITIONS. WE HAVE HAD PRIOR ISSUES THIS PAST WINTER WITH LOSING CONTROL OVER THE CONSOLE CONTROLS AND THE HEAT SHUTTING OFF. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SEAT MOVING ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. NOTHING WAS DONE BECAUSE WE WERE INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO CODE GIVEN WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN TO BE FIXED AND SINCE IT WAS NOT EXHIBITING THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME IT WAS IN THE SHOP THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS FIXED SINCE OWNING THE CAR. THE FACT THAT THEY ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THESE OTHER INCIDENTS.

AFTER PURCHASE OF FORD FUSION 2013 FROM NORTHAMPTON FORD NORTHAMPTON, MA 01060 FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS INCLUDING THE ALARM BELL EVEN ON HIGHWAY. THEY FINALLY TOOK IT IN AND SAID IT WAS A ELECTRICAL HOUSING UNDER SEAT. I NO LONGER TRUST THIS CAR BECAUSE THE NUMBER OF RECALLS ANS REPORTED TROUBLES ABOUT MAKE AND MODEL, MAINLY AIR BAG. WHEN I CALLED DEALERSHIP REPAIR CENTER THEY WERE RUDE AND CONTINUE TO STATE DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO FIX RECALLS. I FEEL FORD OR THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD BUY MY CAR BACK FOR WHAT I OWE, IT IS A LEMON. 6. Engine and engine cooling, Electrical system, Feb 18, 2015

FRIENDS AND I RENTED A 2013 FORD FUSION FROM HERTZ WHILE ON A TRIP LAST WEEKEND. THE COMPUTER DISPLAY THAT CONTROLS THE AC AND OTHER FUNCTIONS SHUT DOWN MIDWAY THROUGH THE TRIP. THE CAR RAN WELL ENOUGH TO DRIVE, SO WE CONTINUED DRIVING IT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP. I WAS SEATED BEHIND THE DRIVER. I NOTICED A SLIGHT HEADACHE EARLIER IN THE TRIP AFTER BEING IN THE CAR. AFTER THE AC/HEAT FUNCTIONS SHUT DOWN, I GOT A MAJOR HEADACHE PLUS NAUSEA. THE OTHER BACK SEAT PASSENGER ALSO GOT A HEADACHE, THOUGHT LESS SEVERE. ONLY AFTER I WAS OUT OF THE CAR AND IN FRESH AIR DID THE HEADACHE DISSIPATE SLOWLY. I SUSPECT THAT, WITHOUT POSITIVE AIR PRESSURE IN THE CAR'S CABIN, THAT EXHAUST GASES ARE DRAWN INTO THE CAR WHILE IT'S MOVING. THIS SAME PHENOMENON OCCURRED TO ME ABOUT 14 YEARS AGO. I AM CONCERNED THAT MODERN CARS DRAW EXHAUST INTO THE CARS--OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS. *TR

CAR WAS HOWEVER NOT FIXED AS I WENT TO USE MY TURN SIGNAL TO EXIT DEALER PARKING LOT, THE TURN SIGNALS NOW WOULD NOT STAY ON AT ALL FOR EITHER TURNING DIRECTION. I MUST NOW HOLD UP OR DOWN ON TURN SIGNAL LEVER IN ORDER TO KEEP SIGNALS BLINKING, ALSO THE MIRRORS STILL RANDOMLY MOVE WHEN ENERGIZING VEHICLE. THE DEFROST, HEATING, AND COOLING CONTROLS FAILED TO WORK. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO WORK. THE 2 LCD SCREENS ON THE DASHBOARD WITH THE FUEL DISPLAY AND TACHOMETER DISPLAYED ONLY A WHITE BACKGROUND. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO WORK. THE RADIO WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS EXITED AND THE PROBLEMS WHERE ALSO REPEATED AT THE VEHICLE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE POWER STEERING, TURN SIGNALS, SPEEDOMETER AND DEFROST FAIL TO WORK WITH NO WARNING. *TR

WE WERE LEAVING THE BOWLING ALLEY AND BACKING UP OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN OUR CAR JUST CUT OFF. THE LIGHTS ARE NOT DIM AND WE TRIED TO BOOST IT FROM A FRIEND'S BATTERY JUST TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T THE BATTERY. THE RADIO AND EVERYTHING WORKS INSIDE THE CAR, BUT THERE IS NOT EVEN A CLICKING NOISE WHEN WE TURN THE KEY SO IT ISN'T EVEN ATTEMPTING TO CUT ON. WE ARE GOING TO THE MILITARY SALES OFFICE TODAY SINCE WE ARE OUT OF THE U.S. WHEN WE BOUGHT IT LESS THAN 7 MONTHS AGO. *TR

ONE OF FORD'S ADVERTISED SAFETY SYSTEM IS THE CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (CTA) AND BACKUP SENSORS THAT ALERT THE DRIVER TO SOMEONE IMMEDIATELY BEHIND THE VEHICLE OR APPROACHING THE VEHICLE FROM THE SIDES. WE NOTICED THAT WE COULD NOT HEAR THE SAFETY ALERT FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. I DECIDED TO MEASURE THE LOUDNESS OF THE ALERTS TO SEE HOW THE THEY COMPARED TO NORMAL LEVELS. ALL MEASUREMENTS WERE TAKEN AT THE DRIVER'S SEAT USING DBA SINCE THIS WEIGHTS THE SOUND TO MATCH THE CONTOUR OF THE HUMAN EAR. THE FORWARD SENSORS MEASURE AT 55 DBA WHICH IS AT THE MID-POINT OF NORMAL COMMUNICATION (50-60 DBA) AND IS QUITE NOTICEABLE UNDER ALL CONDITIONS. THE REAR SAFETY ALERT MEASURES AT 40 DBA WHICH IS A LITTLE BIT ABOVE A SOFT WHISPER. NORMAL COMMUNICATION IS BETWEEN 10 AND 100 TIMES LOUDER. WHEN YOU GET IN YOUR HOT CAR IN A PARKING LOT THE A/C IS ON HIGH IT MEASURES 70 DBA. THIS IS WHEN YOU NEED THE SAFETY SYSTEM TO WORK WHEN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. PROBLEM IS THE NOISE FROM THE A/C IS 1,000 TIMES LOUDER THAN THE SAFETY ALERT RENDERING IT INAUDIBLE UNLESS YOU TURN YOUR HEAD AND LEAN INTO THE BACK SEAT AREA, THEN A FAINT SAFETY ALERT CAN BE HEARD. I COMPLAINED TO FORD AND THIS WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER CAS-4970853. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY CAR BECAUSE A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A FUSION ENERGI SAME YEAR AND HIS IS A LITTLE LOUDER ABOUT 46 DBA. THE DEALERSHIP COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND FORD SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX IT. I ASKED FOR THE SPECIFICATION ON THE SOUND LEVEL SO I COULD VERIFY MY CAR WAS WITHIN SPEC. I WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE A SPEC, WHICH MEANS AS LONG AS IT MAKES A SOUND IT'S GOOD. IF THIS IS TRUE IT'S AN UNFORGIVABLE LAPSE IN QUALITY. I WAS TOLD ALL THE HYBRIDS ARE MUCH LOWER LEVEL THAN THE NON-HYBRIDS WHICH MAKES THIS A FLEET-WIDE SAFETY ISSUE. WORKAROUND: TURN YOUR RADIO UP AND IT WILL MUTE WHEN A SAFETY ALERT OCCURS

I WAS DRIVING SW BOUND ON HWY 20 IN LOGANVILLE, GA WHEN MY CAR SURGED AND POWERED OFF AT 50 MPH 'THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF ON A VERY BUSY ROAD. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST YEAR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THIS FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED FORD REPLACED MY ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. I HAD ZERO STEERING CAPABILITY, THE ENGINE WAS OFF AND UNRESPONSIVE AND ALL OF MY ELECTRONIC PANELS WENT DARK EXCEPT FOR A MESSAGE SAYING "TRANSMISSION IS NOT IN PARK" AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT (YELLOW) CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO HIT THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND BARELY INCH TO THE RIGHT SIDE ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A TRUCK BEHIND ME THAT HAD TO MAKE AN EVASIVE LANGE CHANGE MANEUVER TO THE LEFT IN ORDER TO AVOID COLLISION. ONCE I CAME TO A STOP I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY VIDEO CAMERA ON MY PHONE AND STARTED DOCUMENTING WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE THIS VIDEO READILY AVAILABLE FOR YOU IF YOU NEED IT TO FURTHER YOUR INVESTIGATION. *TR

  13. Electrical system, Air bags, Electronic stability control (ESC), Sep 5, 2014

THE CARS WARNING LIGHTS FOR HILL STOP ASSIST, SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE AIR BAGS ALL CAME ON INDICATING THAT THESE SAFETY FEATURES WE'RE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS THE RCM OR RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE THAT FAILED. THE CAR WAS IN NO ACCIDENTS, AND WAS DRIVING NORMALLY. THIS PART IS BACKORDERED FOR WEEKS BUT FORD WOULD NOT PROVIDE A LONER VEHICLE, SO WE FACED WITH DRIVING A CAR THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT AS SAFE AS PURCHASED, AND THE MANDATED SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT WORKING. THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING T MANY FUSION 2013 HYBRID OWNERS AS SEEN ON THE FORD FORUMS, AND IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, AND PEOPLE SHOULD GET A LONER CAR WHILE WAITING FOR THESE TO GET FIXED. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 45 MPH THE CARS BESIDE US BEGAN HONKING AND FLASHING LIGHTS AT US. WE BEGAN TO SLOW FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND SMOKE BEGAN TO POUR OUR FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WE PULLED LEFT INTO THE TURN LANE TO STOP. WE THEN TURNED ON THE FLASHERS AND TURNED OFF THE CAR AND EXITED TO THE MEDIAN. WE CALLED 911 AND LUCKILY, THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT GOING THE OTHER DIRECTION WITH FIRE AND POLICE ARRIVING AT THAT ACCIDENT. UPON SEEING OUR SITUATION, THE ORANGE CITY, FL FIRE MARSHALL CAME ACROSS THE STREET TO HELP US AND SENT THE FIRE TRUCK TO US. THEY POPPED THE HOOD AND TRUNK AND TRIED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TRYING TO PUT OUT THE FIRE, THEY PULLED THE HYBRID BATTERY LINE. THE INCIDENT # IS [XXX]. OUR CAR WAS TOWED OFF AND TOTALED BY USAA. THEY HAVE THE CAR. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

I AM LEASING MY CAR BRAND NEW. I WENT TO GET IN IT TO GO TO WORK AND I HAD A FEW OF THE SENSOR/WARNING LIGHTS COME UP (ALS, AIRBAG, OIL, AND MORE). IT EVENTUALLY WENT OFF THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO START IT AND IT HESITATED AND THEN WENT CRAZY WITH ALMOST EVERY SENSOR/WARNING LIGHT, DING, NOISE, FLASHING LIGHTS EVERYTHING GOING OFF. I CALLED AND TOLD THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT AND THAT I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF ON FRIDAY AND THEY SAID IT'D PROBABLY TAKE THE WEEKEND. THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT WHEN THEY WENT TO DRIVE IT, IT DID THE SAME THING. THEY HAVE DETERMINED THAT THE RCM NEED REPLACED. NOW, NEARLY 6 WEEKS LATER, I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR, THE PART IS APPARENTLY ON BACK ORDER, THEY CAN'T FIND ONE, ETC. I HAVE HEARD MANY EXCUSES AND AT LEAST THEY PUT ME IN A RENTAL. BUT AT THIS POINT, I AM PAYING FOR A BRAND NEW CAR I CAN'T DRIVE AND FORD DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING. *TR

  16. Electrical system, Structure, Aug 27, 2014

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH FAILED. DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. DROVE CAR TO DEALERSHIP. CURRENTLY STILL THERE, DOOR LATCH WAS ORDERED, WAITING ON REPAIR TO BE COMPLETED. THIS IS OUR SECOND DOOR LATCH FAILURE IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS. FIRST FAILURE WAS THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH. COMPLAINT WAS FILED FOR THAT AS WELL. *TR

  17. Electrical system, Aug 8, 2014

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION ECO BOOST. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED AND THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL GEAR AND RESTARTED IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED BECAUSE THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID ES NOT THINK THE BATTERY CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR SINCE THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITHOUT BEING JUMP STARTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,100.

"STOP SAFELY NOW" ERROR. THE DRIVETRAIN DISENGAGED PREVENTING DRIVE OR REVERSE FROM WORKING. ON 7/26/14 I DROVE 1 HOUR, PARKED, TURNED CAR OFF AND "REMOVED THE IGNITION KEY" THEN THE INTERIOR AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER/FAN TURNED ON FULL AS IF THE DEFROSTER WAS ON. THE TOUCH SCREEN LCD REMAINED ON AS WELL. PRESSING THE CLIMATE CONTROL BUTTONS ON EITHER THE LCD OR THE CONSOLE HAD NO AFFECT. I INSERTED THE KEY AND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT CHANGE. THE INTERIOR AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER/FAN CONTINUED TO RUN. I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WOULD ACTUALLY DRIVE SO I PULLED FORWARD OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE WHEN THE "STOP SAFELY NOW" LIGHT APPEARED AND THE DRIVETRAIN DISENGAGED PREVENTING DRIVE OR REVERSE FROM WORKING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO ROLL THE CAR BACK TO THE PARKING SPACE SAFELY. I REPEATED THIS PROCESS SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME THE DRIVETRAIN DISENGAGED WITHIN ABOUT 3 TO 5 SECONDS PREVENTING ANY FORWARD OR REVERSE MOVEMENT. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY I JUST DROVE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENT. LOCKED AND LEFT THE CAR SIT FOR 5 HOURS. CAME BACK TO THE CAR AND IT WORKED NORMALLY FOR A 1 HOUR DRIVE HOME. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED DIAGNOSTIC. A SECOND ISSUE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED OCCURRED AFTER AN OIL CHANGE AND REPLACEMENT OF A PURGE VALUE ASSEMBLY 1 MONTH AGO. THE ISSUE THAT STARTED IS THE ENGINE ENGAGES REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLE MODE OR OPERATION. EVEN WHEN SET TO FULL ELECTRIC AND PARKED WITH NO ACCESSORIES RUNNING, THE MOTOR TURNS ON AT A HIGH IDLE AND REMAINS ON. A FIRMWARE UPDATE PARTIALLY RESOLVED THE MOTOR RUNNING CONSTANTLY AS NOW IT RUNS A LITTLE MORE THAN 50% OF THE TIME FOR NO REASON AND AT A HIGH IDLE. THERE WERE NO ISSUES DURING THE 10 MONTHS PRIOR TO NEEDING THE PURGE VALVE ASSEMBLY AND SUBSEQUENT ISSUES APPEARING. *TR

I WAS EXITING FROM THE HIGHWAY, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON (ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AIRBAGS, HILL ASSIST, ETC.). ALL SYSTEMS BECAME UNOPERATIONAL WHILE I WAS DRIVING, WHICH CAUSED ME GREAT CONCERN. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING (THE ISSUE WAS STILL HAPPENING), AND THEY KEPT IT FOR TWO WEEKS BECAUSE THE AFFECTED PART, A RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM), WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THEY SAID THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND, IF I HAD GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAGS WOULDN'T HAVE DEPLOYED. I HAVE READ ABOUT A NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2013 FUSIONS WITH THE SAME EXACT DEFECTIVE PART, SO THIS ISSUE SHOULD PROBABLY BE INVESTIGATED. *TR

  20. Electrical system, Jul 8, 2014

WHEN YOU GO TO THE CAR IT IS TOTAL DEAD, NOTHING WORKS, CAN NOT LOCK DOORS. WAIT 30 MINUTES TO 2 HOURS AND THEN WHEN YOU GE IN EVERTHING WORKS. AT DEALER FOR THE 4TH TIME NEVER GIVES AN ERROR. TWO TIMES DROVE IT IN AFTER IT WOULD NOT START THEY HOOKED IT UP BUT NO CODE. TWO TIMES HAD IT TOWED IN. THE LAST TIME CAR GOT TO DEALER STILL DEAD. WHEN THEY STARTED TO WORK ON IT, IT WAS OK. AGAIN NO ERROR CODE. FORD DEALER HAS THE CAR (11 DAYS SO FAR) WORKING WITH FORD CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR UNLOCKS IT SELF BEFORE IT GOES DEAD. *JS

  21. Electrical system, Latches/locks/linkages, Jul 6, 2014

REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT WAS THE 4TH FUSION WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS WAITING ON PARTS. DOOR LATCH ON REAR PASS. DOOR WAS REPLACED. *JS

  22. Electrical system, Service brakes, Engine, Jun 23, 2014

WHILE DRIVING, MY "CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT, "LOW OIL PRESSURE" WARNING LIGHT, AND THE "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING CAME UP ON MY DASH. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BREAKS, AND THE ENGINE CUT OUT. I STRUGGLED TO STOP THE CAR, BUT EVENTUALLY IT STOPPED MOVING. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON, RECEIVING NO FURTHER ERRORS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THAT THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THE CAR IS NO LONGER IN AN "ERROR STATE". *TR

I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE HEADLAMPS ON MY VEHICLE SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED IT. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER ON 2 OCCASIONS COMPLAINING THAT THE HEADLAMPS ARE TOO DIM. I AVOID DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AVOID A ROAD HAZARD, THEY ARE THAT DIM. I HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT TO FEEL SAFE. I ALSO HAVE A 2013 HONDA ACCORD THAT MY WIFE DRIVES, AND THE LOW BEAMS ON THE HONDA LIGHT UP THE ROAD LIKE A RUNWAY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE HEADLAMPS ON THE 1.6L ECO BOOST, BUT THEY TELL ME IT DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE A 2.5L. I HAVE COMPARED VEHICLES AND I SEE NO DIFFERENCE IN APPLICATION. IF THE ISSUE CANNOT BE RESOLVED THROUGH MY DEALER, I WILL HAVE TO SELL THE CAR, BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THANK YOU. *TR

  24. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 28, 2014

ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. BROUGHT CAR TO FORD. DIAGNOSTIC TESTING SHOWED PROBLEM TO BE W/ THE FUEL SYSTEM. SINCE FIRST NOTED BACK IN OCTOBER 2013, LIGHT WOULD COME ON MULTIPLE TIMES AND ASSOCIATED W/ FUELING THE CAR W/ GAS. WENT ON FORD'S WEB FORUM SITE AND HAVE SEEN OTHER 2013 FUSION OWNERS W/ THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD STATED THEY WOULD CHANGE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM IF THE LIGHT WERE TO COME ON AGAIN. WE WILL BRING BACK THE CAR TO FORD NEXT WEEK FOR SERVICE TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY BOLT NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,005. UPDATED 07/1/2014 *JS
