The affected vehicles may not have had the low beam headlamp projector coating properly cured during its manufacturing process.
An improperly cured projector coating will become hazy through operation, over time, reducing the brightness of the low-beam lamp. This may decrease driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the headlamp assembly. The recall began on December 18, 2012. Owners may contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

REAR CENTER PASSENGER SEAT STOPS WORKING AND LOCKS UP IN THE FOLDED-DOWN SEAT POSITION MAKING THE TWO PASSENGER-SIDE SEATS UNUSABLE OR USABLE BY DISENGAGING THE SEAT BELT COMPLETELY. THIS REPEATABLE DEFECT OCCURS WHEN THE PASSENGER-SIDE REAR SEAT IS FOLDED DOWN. THIS CAUSES THE SEATBELT TO LOCK-UP AND THEREFORE IMPEDES RETURNING THE SEAT TO THE NORMAL RAISED POSITION. THE USER EITHER LOOSES THE AVAILABILITY TO USE THE SEAT OR USE IT IN A MATTER THAT IT WAS NOT INTENDED WHILE SEATING A PASSENGER WITH NO RESTRAINING DEVICE AS THE RESTRAINING DEVICE IS STUCK HOLDING THE BACKREST DOWN. IT SHOULD BE OF ADDITIONAL CONCERN THAT THIS DEFECT MAY BE AN INDICATION OF GREATER DANGERS IF IT IS AN INDICATION OF A GENERAL FAILURE OF THE RESTRAINING SYSTEM THAT MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY UPON A COLLISION.

MY CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD WITH 35,200 MILES ON IT. MY CENTER CONSOLE SCREEN STOPPED WORKING. BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN OF THE CAR I NO LONGER CAN OPERATE THE SYNC INTERFACE, SOUND, NAVIGATION, PHONE INTERFACE AND LIMITED CONTROL OF HEATING AND COOLING IN THE CABIN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DIAGNOSIS IS A FAILED APIM. INTERESTINGLY FORD HAS GIVEN EXTENDED WARRANTY STATUS FOR THIS VERY ISSUE WITH 2013 FORD FUSIONS BUT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN. IT'S OBVIOUSLY THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO ONE HAS EXTENDED THE COVERAGE TO MY VEHICLE. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS OMISSION?

THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND LET IT SIT FOR A GOOD 15 TO 20 MINUTES. I CAN THEN START IT BACK UP AND IT RUNS LIKE THERE IS NO PROBLEM. MECHANIC CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISAPPEARS AND NO ERROR CODE IS GIVEN. HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY AND REGULAR CITY STREETS. JUST HAD THE WATER PUMP REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE 3RD OR 4TH TIME NOW. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN LOOSING COOLANT SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE BLOCK HEATER JUST ABOUT AS MANY TIMES ALSO. THEY NEVER REALLY SEEM TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHERE ITS COMING FROM AND I'M QUITE CONCERNED THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO ACTUALLY HAVE IT FIGURED OUT. FIRST PROBLEM WAS AT 20,000 MILES, 50,000 MILES, 80,000 MILES AND 131,000 MILES. THERE IS A RECALL FOR COOLANT LEAKING ONTO THE EXHAUST AND STARTING A FIRE BUT I'M STILL BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THAT ISSUE YET. I WAS NOTIFIED BACK IN MARCH OF 2017 ABOUT THAT ISSUE.

TRANSMISSION HAS HAD PROBLEMS SINCE 16,000 MILES WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR. HAD IT IN MANY TIMES FOR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AT HIGH WAY SPEEDS. WOULD SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER TO PASSING LANE AND SPEED UP AND IT WOULD JERK. PARK TO DRIVE AND PARK TO REVERSE WOULD ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. 3 DEALERS LATER THEY FINALLY FOUND SOLENOIDS AND ANOTHER PART WAS BAD (ABOUT 90,000 MILES) FOR SOMEONE TO FINALLY FIND THE PROBLEM. HAD IT BACK IN 3 MONTHS LATER TO HAVE THE SAME PARTS REPLACED AGAIN AS THEY WENT OUT. JUST TOOK IT IN NOV. 2017 A YEAR LATER AND AM BEING TOLD THE TRANSMISSION IS BETTER OFF BEING REPLACED. I COMPLAINED EVERY 5,000 MILES AT OIL CHANGES TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT UNDER WARRANTY. I'M NOW STUCK WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR DUE TO $3,000 ESTIMATE FOR WHAT IS WRONG THAT THEY KNOW OF BEFORE OPENING THE TRANSMISSION UP WHICH COULD RESULT IN MORE $$ OR PAY $5,000 FOR A REMANUFACTURED ONE.

ON WAY TO WORK I ON THE MORNING OF 10-12-17 GOING ABOUT 75MPH ON INTERSTATE AND ALL THE SUDDEN THERE WAS A DING AND FLASH OF RED (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) ON THE DASHBOARD STATING ENGINE OVERHEATING AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND CAR BASICALLY WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I LOST ALL POWER, RADIO, LIGHTS ETC. WITH THE MOMENTUM I HAD BUILT UP GOING 75 I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT ACROSS THE 4 LANES TO THE SHOULDER. AN OHIO STATE TROOPER STOPPED TO ASSIST AND WAS DUMB FOUNDED WHEN HE SAY THERE WAS NO POWER, THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SPOKE WITH JAY AND ADVISED THAT CAR WAS BEING TOWED IN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD IS STATING THAT IT'S A SAFETY FEATURE TO STOP FIRE FROM HAPPENING, BUT HONESTLY HOW SAFE IS TO HAVE THE ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL POWER COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON INTERSTATE. IT WAS A MATTER OF SECONDS BETWEEN DING, LIGHT AND LOSS OF POWER. CAR WAS TOWED IN USING MY AAA MEMBERSHIP ON A FLATBED TO LIBERTY FORD IN BRUNSWICK, OHIO. I WAS ADVISED LATER THAT DAY THAT IT WAS THE WATER PUMP AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SENSOR THAT WAS RECALLED. I HAD TO USE PTO FOR WORK ON THURSDAY AND CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP ON 10-13-17 AROUND LUNCH TIME. ON 10-13-17 I HAD TO LEAVE WORK EARLY TO GET TO DEALERSHIP BEFORE THEY CLOSED AT 6PM OTHERWISE I WOULD BE CHARGED $50.00 FOR THE LOANER IF RETURNED ON SATURDAY MORNING. I PICKED UP MY CAR AND IT COST ME @$107.00 FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE SINCE THEY ARE STATING IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND THAT IT WAS THE WATER PUMP. ON THE AFTERNOON OF 10-14-17 (@ 12:30-12:45PM) DRIVING IN MEDINA AREA ON WAY TO EVENT WITH NIECE IN THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. SEE ATTACHED FOR FULL COMPLAINT AND DOCS

I HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION 1.6L SE THAT I HAVE HAD TO TAKE BACK TO LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THEM RETIGHTEN THE STEERING WHEEL BOLT. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO BECOME LOOSE AND MOVING SIDE TO SIDE AND UP AND DOWN. THEY SAID THAT THE BOLT WAS VERY LOOSE AND HAD TO BE TIGHTENED. SO I WOULD SAY THAT YOU NEED TO INCLUDE THE 2013 INTO THE INVESTIGATION. DATE IS AN ESTIMATE IF NEED MORE INFO I CAN GET.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR INTO MY DRIVEWAY, GOING STRAIGHT, AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I BACKED OUT MY DRIVEWAY TO TEST IT, AND IT HAD COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THERE WERE NO OTHER ISSUES OR WARNINGS LEADING UP TO THE TOTAL AND COMPLETE FAILURE. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, WHO INDICATED THE ENTIRE GEAR BOX WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED FOR A COST OF 1800.00. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT PART OF RECALL, AND MY CHECKS ON NHTSA BY VIN CONFIRMED.

CAR STARTED ROLLING FORWARD AFTER ENGINE WAS STARTED IN PARKING LOT, EVEN THOUGH GEAR SHIFT WAS IN "PARK", EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED, AND FOOT BRAKE WAS BEING PRESSED. STEERING WAS UNRESPONSIVE. AFTER ENGINE WAS STOPPED AND RESTARTED (WITHOUT HAVING TO PRESS THE FOOT BRAKE AS ONE USUALLY DOES), CAR SEEMED TO OPERATE NORMALLY. DEALER SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE FORWARD ROLLING EVENT..

I OWN A 2013 FORD FUSION WITH 94,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A ONE LANE ROAD AND THE GAS PEDAL BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG PRIOR TO THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION CONTROL. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION/THROTTLE; HOWEVER, POWER REMAINED ON IN THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN A WRENCH LIGHT THAT SAID CHECK MANUAL. I WAS TRAVELING 65MPH AND HAD TO PULL OVER. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AND IT STARTED UP. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR SHOP PERFORMED A FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE AND CLEARED THE CHECK ENGINE AND CHECK MANUAL LIGHTS. FOUR DAYS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I HAD TO PULL OVER 3 TIMES AND ONCE WHERE I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN BACK ON IN THE ONE LANE ROAD AS THERE WAS NO PULL OFF AREA. AFTER THE LAST TIME I RESTARTED THE CAR, I HAD A REDUCED THROTTLE BUT MANAGED TO MAKE IT ABOUT 2 MILES TO WORK (AT THIS POINT THE SPEED IS REDUCED TO 45MPH). I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR SHOP HAD THEIR MASTER MECHANIC LOOK AT THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT FORD ISSUED A CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. THIS WAS TO INCLUDE CERTAIN 2009 THROUGH 2013 MODEL YEAR FUSION, MILAN, ESCAPE AND MARINER VEHICLES. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD BASED ON THE VIN NUMBER THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS THOSE WITH THE VINS IN THE CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH NO PRIOR WARNING OTHER THAN THE SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION/THROTTLE.

THESE RECALLS HAVE BEEN OUT SINCE APR 23RD, 2015 AND NOV 30TH 2016 AND FORD STILL DOES NOT HAVE PARTS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF A RECALL. IN THIS CASE IT APPEARS THAT THE COMPANY IS SIMPLY WAITING IT OUT UNTIL THE OWNER GETS A NEW CAR AND THEN THEY DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING.

DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND PASSENGER'S DOOR FLUNG OPEN WHEN I MADE A RIGHT TURN. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO SHUT & LOCK DOOR, HOWEVER IT WOULD NOT LATCH. AFTER RESEARCHING FOUND A RECALL ON LATCH DOORS OF THIS MODEL FORD (RECALL REFERENCE #15S16), HOWEVER MY VIN # WAS NOT ON RECALL. CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN THOUGH THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS WHY THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL. WITH RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN THE HERMOSILLO ASSEMBLY PLANT WHICH IS ONE OF THE PLANTS THE FAULTY PARTS CAME FROM. I WAS CHARGED $539.99 TO REPAIR DOOR. MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I BELIEVE THAT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO ME. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT THE LATCH MALFUNCTIONED LIKE THIS NO MATTER HOW OLD IT WAS. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS VEHICLE ADDED TO RECALL SO THAT I CAN RECOUP MY MONEY AND HAVE ALL THE OTHER DOOR LATCHES REPLACED FOR SAFETY.

"FORD DOOR LATCH RECALL" - HAVING ISSUES WITH DOOR LATCHES FOR MY FORD FUSION HYBRID THAT WERE REPLACED DURING A RECALL (BY ANOTHER DEALER). ISSUES HAVE STARTED SINCE THE RECALL, WITH EXCESSIVE VIBRATION OF THE DOORS, DOOR AJAR INDICATOR COMING ON DURING MOTION AND LATEST REAR PASSENGER DOOR NOT CLOSING , WHICH HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP WITH MY CURRENT DEALER I HAVE BEEN WORKING (WITH FORD THRU) MY CURRENT DEALER FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS AND FINALLY HAD THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH CHANGED A COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE DOOR VIBRATION AND DOOR AJAR INDICATOR COMING ON COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK THE RIGHT REAR DOOR FLEW OPEN DURING A TURN, BUT I IGNORED IT THINKING THE DOOR WAS NOT SHUT PROPERLY, STOPPED THE CAR SAFELY AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD THE DOOR CLOSED. LAST WEEKEND REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE AND HAS REMAINED "UN-CLOSABLE" SINCE, I HAD TO TIE DOOR IN WITH SEATBELTS AND LIMP THE CAR BACK HOME. WENT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT DOOR LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST OF PARTS AND LABOR WILL NOT BE COVERED AS THE RECALL WAS PAST WARRANTY (1 YEAR). CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND WAS TOLD THE SAME. I NOW HAVE CONCERNS OF THE SIMILAR ISSUES OCCURRING ON THE OTHER DOORS AND THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AS A WHOLE.
