My 2016 Ford Fusion back up camera has failed which is a safety issue. I am unable to have it repaired or replaced because Ford Motor Company hasn't made parts available. It is Aug 2026 and this recall went into effect in Oct 2025. It has almost been a year. How long is it acceptable for a company to keep from fixing a known safety issue.

My 2016 Ford Fusion is affected by Ford Safety Recall 25SA9 (NHTSA Recall 25V695), involving the rear-view camera. According to the recall, the rear-view camera may display a blank or distorted image when the vehicle is in reverse, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall remains open for my VIN and NHTSA currently shows the status as “Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available.” The official NHTSA recall documentation stated that the final remedy was anticipated to become available in June 2026. It is now August 19, 2026, and the remedy is still not available for my vehicle. I have contacted Ford regarding this issue. Ford has acknowledged the recall and informed me that the required parts/remedy are not currently available and that I must wait until they become available. Because this is an unresolved safety recall involving rear visibility, I am requesting that NHTSA document the continued unavailability of the remedy and review the delay in providing a repair for affected vehicles. I was notified of a safety recall regarding the back up camera going black or not working in October of 2025. The camera does not work and the cars design makes it hard to see out of the back window when in reverse. We have contacted the dealership several times trying to get it repaired but they always just say they don't have a solution. Not sure how to proceed and could use some help getting this repaired. We are coming up on a year of the notice.
Service brakes, Aug 14, 2026
I would like to make a complaint for malpractice during a recall repair. I was notified on aug 4, 2026 that after the dealership did the recall 23S12 brake hose that during the test drive that my master seal and brake booster started to leak and needs to be replaced. They asked me if i have had any brake problems and we have not. They wanted to charge me over $1000. I declined because i had no issues prior to my vehicle going to them. They then stated they would complete the job for a little over $600. i declined. They said they reached out to Ford to see if they could cover the master seal and brake booster but they said FORD declined. However, they never asked ford. I have the OASIAS report verifying that information. They did not inform me that this is a saftey issue, they never said do not drive the vehicle, the documentation they gave me does not warn this is a issue. However, on the way home I realized I had no brakes. I assumed my vehicle would be in the same shape as i had it taken in and I would have brakes. I do not. I brought my vehicle to my home called the dealership who basically said unless i want to pay for the job in full i am on my own. I need help. I have the information on July 30 when they did the original inspection and they did a brake inpection and there is no mention of any brake issues. However, after the recall the inspection was done, they took a camera went into the brake booster and master seal. All of this was done with out informing us until it came time to pay.
Electrical system, Aug 11, 2026
I am submitting this complaint regarding an unrepaired safety recall on my 2016 Ford Fusion, Ford Recall 25SA9 / NHTSA Recall 25V695, involving the rear-view camera. The recall concerns a condition where the rear-view camera may display a blank or distorted image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. This can reduce the driver's ability to see what is behind the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. The recall was issued in October 2025. I have been waiting for the recall remedy to become available, but Ford and the dealership have been unable to complete the repair because the necessary parts are not available. As of August 11, 2026, my vehicle's NHTSA recall status still states: "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available." This means that approximately 10 months after the recall was issued, I still do not have access to the recall repair for a known safety defect. I understand that parts shortages can occur; however, I am concerned that such a significant amount of time has passed without Ford providing a remedy. The recall information indicates that the remedy was expected to become available, yet my vehicle remains unrepaired. I am requesting that NHTSA review Ford's handling of this recall and determine: Why the recall remedy remains unavailable approximately 10 months after the recall was issued. When Ford expects the required repair parts to actually become available. Whether Ford is taking adequate steps to provide affected vehicle owners with a timely and effective remedy. Whether Ford has provided an adequate interim solution for owners while they wait for the repair. I have contacted the dealership regarding the recall and have been advised that they cannot complete the repair because the necessary parts are unavailable. I am requesting NHTSA's assistance and review because this is a safety recall that remains unresolved many months after being issued. Power train, Service brakes, Engine, Jul 26, 2026
The engine experienced a sudden failure that caused the vehicle to become completely inoperable. Prior to the failure, the vehicle exhibited intermittent hesitation, rough idling, and loss of power during acceleration. These symptoms began several weeks before the complete failure. No warning lamps were illuminated at first, but shortly before the breakdown, the vehicle displayed a check engine light and a “Service Engine Soon” message. While driving, the vehicle abruptly lost power and became unsafe to operate. I was forced to pull over immediately, which created a safety risk to myself and other drivers due to the sudden deceleration and inability to maintain speed in traffic. The vehicle would not restart afterward. A repair facility has confirmed that the engine has suffered a major internal failure and requires replacement. The estimated cost of repair starts upwards of $5,000. The vehicle is currently non‑drivable and remains available for inspection. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. However, I have found multiple similar complaints from other owners reporting the same type of powertrain failure, suggesting a potential pattern or defect affecting safety.
