  1. Service brakes, Apr 13, 2023

I got an email from carfax that there was a recall on my vehicle for brake lines, upon research I confirmed with my VIN & called Ford of Janesville, they told me in March there was no remedy yet, more than a month has passed and there is still no remedy this poses a huge safety risk to drive due to brake fluid leaking out & potentially causing the brakes to not function & cause an accident. Prior to the recall notification my brakes randomly started making a very loud disturbing noise not caused by brake pads/rotors as my vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic employed through the city of Milton. This causes a very serious and dangerous risk to my driving and the driving of others in the event my brakes do not work anymore.

Facts I have taken my car to the Ford Dealerships 18 times to have the “Park Brake Malfunction Light” fixed. Again, on March 6, 2023, the same problem keeps reoccurring. Every time the Park Brake Malfunction Light comes on there are two more lights from the Brake Systems that appears. After repeated repairs visits, this problem is still on going. As I was driving my kids home from school, my car suddenly started to make a loud whining noise every time I accelerated. Eventually, the car stopped accelerating altogether despite me pushing on the gas pedal. To my surprise and my children's fright, the car suddenly jerked forward, nearly causing a collision with the car in front of us. In order to reassure my children and assess the situation, I pulled over to the side of the road. Although I didn't find any visible damage under the hood, the loud whining noise persisted even after restarting the car and attempting to accelerate. 18. Power train, Mar 10, 2023

I drive a 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid with approximately 105,000 miles. The transmission (HF35 hybrid) recently started making a whining noise. The vehicle was diagnosed at a Ford service center as needing a transmission replacement due to failure of the transfer shaft gear assembly bearings. Issues with premature failure of the transfer shaft bearings for this transmission are well documented online and in multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSB 14-0214, 16-0105, 17-0039) spanning several years. Previously, a Customer Service Satisfaction Program 14B07 was established to replace transmissions with this issue, for 2013-2014 model years. The program expired; however, many vehicles were produced with the same transmission issues after this Customer Service Satisfaction Program expired (including 2015 & 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrids built before Aug 2015). It is clear Ford was aware of the transmission issue when these later year vehicles were sold. I have reached out to Ford for assistance in repairing this defect but they have not provided any support. These defective bearings will certainly fail in thousands of cars currently on our roads and highways. Transmission failures are unpredictable and could result in dangerous vehicle behavior and vehicle accidents. Repair of this transmission defect is cost prohibitive for many vehicle owners and will force them to continue to drive the cars with failing transmissions. Ford, or the NHTSA, should issue a recall or Customer Service Satisfaction Program, to repair/replace these defective bearings both for public safety and to value their customers.

  19. Service brakes, Mar 8, 2023

Brake line hose burst causing the brakes to fail while driving . I was not able to stop the car had to pull the emergency brake. This is the third time in two years.

  20. Electrical system, Latches/locks/linkages, Mar 7, 2023

My trunk keeps opening on it's own. With the keys on me, not in my hands. Without the keys on me. While driving, while not driving, just completely at random. My trunk is continuously opening. From my research this seems to be a pretty common thing for this make and model of car, and I think it's time that it be recalled and fixed. It's not safe from a driving standpoint nor a personal safety standpoint.

  21. Engine, Mar 1, 2023

The consumer stated the engine needs to be replaced at the cost of $9,000 to $10,000, but too expensive to be fixed. The contact stated that they still do not have the means to replace the engine.
