  8. Engine, Jan 7, 2026

My vehicle has the Ford EcoBoost 2.0 liter engine in it that has been recalled on thousands of vehicles. My car currently has the same issue which is a coolant intrusion that has been recognized and was a class action lawsuit against Ford for this issue. I have been advised by a local Ford dealership that my engine should be part of the recall and Ford should be replacing my engine. However, when I called Ford, they are advising there is nothing they can do, because there is no current recall for my vehicles VIN and so I am trying to reach out and see if there's anything that can be done before hiring an attorney, because as a single mother I cannot afford $12,000 out of my pocket with hopes that eventually Ford will do the recall properly and reimburse me as they have stated "could happen". This is a known issue this engine of mine has been looked at by three mechanics one being a Ford dealership to confirm that this engine was in fact warped from the factory which is causing my coolant to seep into the heads or whatever and I need the long block replacement that the original recall fell under which was somewhere around the 50,000 mark of these vehicles recalled. The engine is needing to be repaired and taken care of so I'm seeking direction on how to possibly get Ford to take care of this issue that I should not be having to deal with due to a manufacturing defect since leaving off the factory floor

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

  10. Suspension, Wheels, Jan 1, 2026

Considering your experience of losing total control of the vehicle even while driving slowly while following a snowplow vehicle dispensing road deicer while plowing; I have a strong suspicion that his has happened in 2024 as well when the vehicle had registered a drive issue and the dealership found now existing reason for it. The compacted snow forms a large layer of snow and ice in the wheel wells to the point that it is rubbing on the tires all around the wheel wells. As this icy snow hardens while the vehicle is parked; it is dangerous to drive on any road surface in this condition at any speed. While the danger was less in the past due to not driving to Cass Lake, Minnesota from Bemidji, Minnesota and back nearly every other day; it has become critical this winter because of the high increase in winter snowy road driving that you are currently doing. Even though doing Hemo-Dyalisis at home decreases the danger; this vehicle is at risk of suddenly going out of control during winter snowing highway driving conditions if ice and snow builds up around the tires where it can suddenly release and jam tires from turning. You need to be aware of the danger you place yourself and other motorists in if you are driving this Ford Fusion Energi while in these dangerous driving conditions. In the past I have seen the condition of ice and snow buildup in the front and rear wheel wells to the point that there is less than one half inch of clearance between the tires and the ice/snow buildup. I did not allow you to drive it that way until I had chopped and removed it from around the tires and wheel wells.

  11. Other or unspecified, Dec 29, 2025

Rear camera sometimes displays black image or error message when I shift into reverse , I was notified by my insurance company there was a active recall on this specific part on the car - it has been about 2 months now and I am still unable to get to problem fixed as the parts are not available

  12. Back over prevention, Dec 29, 2025

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a blue image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure had obstructed the road's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact stated that the rearview camera had previously displayed a distorted image. The message "Rear camera not available" was displayed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

  13. Service brakes, Dec 26, 2025

The vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fusion with 70,000 miles when this happened happened the first time. I pushed on the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I had just enough braking power to stop the vehicle. The danger is obvious, I had no brakes but I was going slow on local roads. I had the vehicle towed to an independent repair shop where they diagnosed failure of the right rear brake caliper. They replaced the caliper, hoses and ceramic brake pads at a cost of about $600. All was good for about 1500 miles when the exact same thing happened, except now it was the driver's side caliper. Fortunately, once again, I was driving on local roads at low speeds and by holding the pedal totally against the floor, I was able to drive over the curb onto a lawn without hitting anyone. if I had been on an Interstate, I don't see how it wouldn't have resulted in a serious accident. I have no parts or pictures from the first failure, only the receipt for work done, but the car is in the same repair shop as I write this and I will have the failed parts and pictures when I pick up the vehicle on Monday, 12/29/25. Two brake caliper failures, with no warning, at 70,000 and 71,500 miles is a scary scenario. I have no confidence in the vehicle's safety and will be disposing it as soon as it's fixed. Your system won't allow me to put in two dates for the two failures but the first was on 01/24/25 at approximately 70,000 miles and the second was today 12/26/25 at approximately 71,500 miles. The vehicle is registered to me at the address listed on this form but I am a snowbird and the vehicle is in Naples Florida at my winter residence.

  14. Service brakes, Hydraulic, Wheels, Dec 23, 2025

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that the dealer had sent a mobile mechanic to the contact's residence to complete the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). During the day, the contact checked the residence ring camera and noticed that two mobile mechanics had stopped by the residence to work on the brakes. The contact stated that after a while, both mechanics left the residence and left the hood of the contact's vehicle lifted. The contact stated that the mechanic returned after a while and continued servicing the vehicle. The contact noticed that the mechanic had difficulty with the lug nuts on the wheels and had to fracture the lug nuts to remove the wheels. The contact noticed that the mechanic had reinstalled the fractured lug nuts back on both front wheels. The contact had not test-driven the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue.  The mileage was unknown.

The failure mileage was approximately 86,600.

  19. Engine, Dec 9, 2025

The engine light intermittently went off and on for a few weeks. During that time, the car would surge and slow/loose power while driving it, which was distracting when in traffic. The dealership found that coolant had leaked into the engine block and we were informed the engine had to be replaced. I talked to 2 dealerships and they both said this was something they had seen a lot - and while the engine for the Ford Escape was recalled, the same engine was not recalled for the Ford Fusion.

  20. Steering, Dec 8, 2025

Lost power in the steering wheel. My safety and others is at risk because the steering wheel locks up completely at slow speeds and it's difficult to turn the steering wheel when turning a corner or trying to back up. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. The component has only been inspected by an independent service center. On 12/5/25 I received a warning on the dashboard, Steering Assist Fault. I drove to work and parked the car. When I got in the car around noon and proceeded to drive the steering wheel was really difficult to turn and I started seeing other notifications that flashed on the screen. As I drove the steering wheel because more difficult to turn. At low speed the steering wheel locked up and I managed to pull the car over to get out of traffic.

Driving at approximately 65 mph a maintenance light came on. While pulling over smoke filled the cabin of the vehicle. A large jolt occurred and the vehicle no longer had power to the wheels. Upon exiting the vehicle transmission fluid had coated the side of the car. It is available for inspection. Breathing in transmission smoke seems dangerous I have found other references to this problem on forums online It has not been inspected The maintenance light appeared just before failure. And the rest of the failure lights came on after.
