Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.
Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Seat belts, pretensionerFeb 28, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Rogue vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners may have been incorrectly manufactured, which can cause the seat belts to not properly restrain occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Improperly restrained occupants have an increased risk of injury during a crash.
Dealers will replace the front seat belt assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PD105.

Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.

Seat belts, critical fastenersMay 25, 2023
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The fastener in the rear seat belt anchor attachment points may not have been tightened properly and can loosen over time.
A loose rear seat belt anchor fastener may not properly restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect and tighten the rear seat belt anchor bolts. Additionally, dealers will apply warning labels to the seat belt attachment points to indicate the bolt size and torque value required for any future seat belt repair. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Seats, critical fastenersApr 13, 2023
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Rogue, Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. The driver's powered seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame, causing the seat frame welds to detach from the rear inboard seat bracket.
An unsecured seat with broken welds may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect the driver's seat rail clearance, and if necessary, replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 10, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC966, PC967.

Engine, Oct 29, 2025
The vehicle makes aggressive knocking and whistling noises while driving. Gets louder as the gas pedal is accelerated. The engine shakes and vibrates the vehicle. When the vehicle is turned on and parked with the front doors open, you can visibly see them shaking/vibrating very hard. The vehicle has been in to two Nissan dealerships, which I have paid over $1100, for repairs regarding engine concerns, and the issues persist 2 weeks. I have reached out to Nissan and was informed they do not have a remedy for the open engine recall on this vehicle. The warnings regarding this recall are complete engine failure and all research I have completed suggests not driving the vehicle as it is unsafe and should be addressed immediately. I travel about 80 miles per day for work and feel extremely unsafe. I have been reporting this to Nissan prior to them issuing the recall (recall was dated 7/14/2025).

Two weeks ago my 2023 Nissan broke down on the highway and with reduced power mode we were able to bring it to the closest Nissan dealer. When we got there it was closed but we left the car and asked for a Recall inspection due to the note that displayed on the dashboard matching what we had received in recall. We were informed Monday that it has nothing to do this the recall... we went back and forth with our Nissan dealer and called Nissan corporate and they refused to do the recall assessment which would be looking for metal shaving in the oil pan. They claimed this was because there was not sufficient enough evidence, even though there has been rattling, when I got an oil change he said it was very messy, our thermometer is broken and now I broke down on the highway. They still claimed there was not enough to warrant the assesment. They determined it was the IVT sensor which was a $1,432 fix. We went back and forth with Nissan corporate again to get the recall assessment done so that we could know if this was affecting why we needed a new part that shouldnt need to be replaced so early.... but we were denied again. We paid the money, but are still having issues with our car and Nissan dealer and corporate outright refused to evaluate our car for safety recall Engine issues affected by recall. The vehicle has an open federal safety recall related to a manufacturing defect that poses a serious safety risk. The recall was announced months after purchase, but the defect existed at the time of sale. The manufacturer has delayed providing a remedy for more than 90 days and continues to state that repairs are “under development.” The vehicle remains unsafe to drive, and no temporary or permanent remedy has been provided despite repeated contact with the manufacturer’s regional consumer affairs specialist. The issue places my safety and the safety of others at risk because the defect can lead to sudden vehicle malfunction while driving. The vehicle has been serviced and inspected by a dealer who confirmed the open recall but could not perform repairs. The manufacturer refuses to provide a replacement or buyback, and instead continues to require payments for a defective vehicle. There were no prior warning lamps or messages before the recall notice was issued. This is an ongoing safety concern caused by the manufacturer’s failure to remedy a known defect within a reasonable time under 49 U.S.C. §30120(c).

There is an odd engine 'rattling', 'guzzling', 'slurping', type noise coming from the engine and the engine has begun to idle very rough even after fresh oil change. This is directly the issue cited from Nissan as recall with no current solution - which is unacceptable. We are not interested in waiting until the car malfunctions worse and in a dangerous way in order to get this recall addressed.

See attached document for complaint. Please be advised that I received a safety recall notice relative to my leased 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum involving a manufacturing defect affecting the engine bearings and/or engine components. Bearings and crankshaft are prone to failure, which can result in catastrophic engine damage with little or no warning. I appreciate that Nissan is going to address this issue, as this issue will increase the risk of a crash . The NHTSA RECALL 25V-437 affects my car. The Vin number is [XXX] . My account number with Nissan is XXXXXXXXXXX·. Since I received this notice, and was scheduled for an oil and filter change, I took my Nissan to Maus Nissan located in Tampa, Florida. I was told that the parts relative to the recall were not in. Since I was going to drive to Miami, Florida and considered the vehicle unsafe to drive from Tampa to Miami I contacted Nissan about a rental vehicle. I was told no, to drive the vehicle and if a problem happened to pull over and take the car to the nearest Nissan Dealer. I rented a vehicle from National Car Rental and have attached a copy of the rental receipt. The amount was $261.66. I respectfully request that Nissan North America reimburse said amount.
