Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.
Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Back over preventionOct 3, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

I have tried without success to have Nissan Consumer Affairs assist me with an ongoing issue with my vehicle that started in February of 2026. The check engine light coming on and sending various codes related to system too lean. It was repaired in March of 2026 only to come on again this past August of 2026. Dealership in Crystal Lake Illinois M'Lady claimed it was repaired only for the light to come on again. They still are not sure why it's happening. They've had master technician from Nissan come and still cannot resolve the issue. The case manager at Nissan consumer affairs is extremely rude and unhelpful. She refuses to help me get the outcome desired with this case. She hasn't even bothered to contact the dealer where my car is to inquire about the updates or services done to the car. I want an early termination of my lease so that I can get a vehicle that is in working condition. I'm paying almost $600 a month on a vehicle that isn't safe or functional. Please help me get this resolved as consumer affairs is unwilling to act with efficiency and professionalism. Thanks

The Specific Defect: My vehicle has two active federal safety recalls: NHTSA Campaign 26V080 (internal engine bearing failure causing a severe knock) and NHTSA Campaign 26V081 (electronic throttle body malfunction). The Dealer Violations: Nissan McDonough officially diagnosed the engine as faulty but refused to execute the free engine replacement under the campaign. Nissan South Morrow attempted to charge me retail out-of-pocket prices for the recalled throttle body, they did not replace it, they only conducted the OMC (?) The service manager explicitly refused the recall by claiming a code for a "throttle valve door" is not covered under the throttle body assembly campaign. Federal law explicitly mandates that when an active safety recall is present, manufacturers and their franchise dealers must complete the repair without charge and frame. I used my Rouge for my courier services and I am contract by two companies Aerospace and Airspace and I am in danger of losing my contacts. I have lost 10 days of wages thus far. Can you please assist me.

We had bought this vehicle from the dealership in March 2026, it had seemed like they were trying to get rid of it. Within under a month of purchase, it flashed a malfunction error and broke down. Sent to dealership, they had fixed the relay. Problem has since worsened. Car runs extremely rough and I get two malfunction errors. During long periods of driving with extensive starting and stopping, I notice issues such as a delay when shifting from park to drive. Im currently studying Automotive Technology where I got to diagnose the car. It is showing 11 codes. [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX]. The entire dashboard goes blank. No radio, no camera's no telepone connection etc.. 2024 Nissan Rogue SL. After driving a few miles the dashboard info center turns back on. This has happened at least 3 times. I was curious because 655K Camrys are being recalled for the same problem. Most likely the same software is used in both automobiles.

The vehicle suddenly lost motive power due to an engine/throttle control failure consistent with defects described in NHTSA Campaigns 26V081 and R25A8/R25A9/R25B1. It entered limp mode and became unable to accelerate. The vehicle is available for inspection. This created a safety risk because the vehicle was stranded in extreme heat for several hours with no access to water or shelter. I became overheated and physically distressed while waiting for assistance. Nissan would not tow the vehicle, so it sat overnight at a warehouse before eventually being transported to a dealership. A dealer confirmed the vehicle entered limp mode but did not complete the recall repair. The vehicle has now been at the dealership for four days without inspection, and I was told it should not have been towed there, so they will not prioritize it. The manufacturer cannot see the open recall because the dealer incorrectly marked it completed. Because the vehicle could not be driven and the defect has not been repaired, I was unable to travel to work and was terminated as a result. Warning lamps and messages appeared immediately before the failure, including reduced engine power and driver assist system unavailable.

The vehicle became inoperable at high speeds on the interstate, I-65. My husband was able to safely merge to the right shoulder to avoid any crashes. The car made some loud clunking sounds before all power was lost. The car was then towed to the nearest Nissan dealership. It took 3 business days for the dealer to look at the car. The entire engine needed to be replaced. The dealership was able to replace the engine and complete quality assessment/drive and this was completed 4/16/2026. Because this was part of a trip interruption, the dealership is over 150 miles away from my home. I am still not reunited with my car. I have been without this vehicle for 25 days.

Warning ️ Engine Malfunction Power Reduced Service Now. This happened while driving on the highway which put our safety at risk. The vehicle is currently with the Nissan dealership service division in Dearborn, MI. Has no been confirmed yet. Warning popped up on the onset of the issue.

The vehicle experiences a severe loss of power, placing it into a reduced-power or limp mode that prevents the vehicle from exceeding approximately 10 mph. The issue has occurred repeatedly despite multiple repair attempts. The battery was replaced initially, after which the vehicle broke down while still at the dealership. The service department removed the new battery & reinstalled the original battery, at which point the vehicle temporarily operated normally. On a subsequent visit for the same reduced-power condition, the dealership replaced the throttle body chamber and multiple gaskets. This repair resolved the issue only for a short period of time. During a third service visit, I paid approximately $3,000 for additional repairs; however, the same issue occurred again, & I was unable to safely leave the dealership parking lot. The vehicle is currently available for inspection, testing, & servicing upon request. All prior inspections & repair attempts are documented in dealership service records. My safety & the safety of others were placed at significant risk because the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while being driven. The vehicle abruptly slows & cannot exceed 10 mph. This occurred while driving on the highway during heavy 5:00 p.m. traffic, as well as during normal roadway driving. A sudden and severe reduction in speed in traffic creates a high risk of rear-end collisions or other serious accidents, particularly if surrounding drivers are unable to react in time. Yes. The dealership where the vehicle was purchased is the same dealership that has serviced the vehicle on all three occasions. Each time, the dealership has inspected the vehicle and represented that the issue was repaired. However, the problem continues to occur immediately after service, including instances where the vehicle could not be driven out of the dealership parking lot. Any qualified service center test-driving the vehicle would be able to observe & reproduce. Yes check engine light

On oct 17,2025. While driving 35 mph on my to drop off my niece to her doctor appointment. My new 2024 Nissan rogue started to shake and engine light started to blank and cut off power and stopped on the road. Putting our lives at risk for accident on the road. Error Code : P2563 and P2565. I took it to the Dealership Antwerpen Nissan in clarksville, MD. Were I purchased the car brand new in 2024. The system check showed that Nissan Turbo had failed a defective safety recall and I need a New engine for my car after less then 1 year. The dealership would not honor this dangerous safety recall issue from Nissan has on the Turbo engine as there is a active recall on 2022 - 2024 Nissan rogue on the VC- Turbo Engine. Nissan and Antwerpen Nissan have not given me any help to fix this defective turbo engine that is putting a lot of drivers like myself at safety risk for a accident on the road. I would like to file a complaint in this matter to get it resolved and fixed on my 2024 Nissan rogue SV with a new Turbo . To fix the defective recall VC- Turbo from Nissan. Left side IVI system intermittent, yes. Unable to communicate handsfree or if in an emergency situation contact onboard 911 systems. Yes, the problem has been recreated twice with dealership and four videos of outages were submitted to dealership. Yes, the manufacturer inspected and called it needing a software push from Nissan. No software update is not available couldn’t be determined when fix was available. No, warnings were available before outage occurred. The vehicle only has 6600 miles and is a year and 3 months old. I am the first owner, the first appearance occurred after the software update of the recall on backup cameras by NHTSA.

Engine started smoking, burning smell, exhaust smoking, stopped working, won't drive anymore, won't start , if do get it started it idles high then crashes. No warning lights. Coolant isn't leaking but it's using all reserve coolant. No longer drivable.

The Body Control Module System goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The BCM system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.

I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum with a faulty infotainment system. The screen has not worked since the day I took delivery of the car, the dealership assured me only a simple update would be needed to fix the issue. However, several months and only 3k miles later, I've had the screen replaced on the car. Unfortunately, this has not fixed the issue, it still malfunctions. (Photo attached is a month after the replacement) From small pixel, to green lines, and even completely blacking out. The volume stops working, the backup camera done engage, and the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. I have been to the dealership over 5 times for this issues and have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs multiple times, and yet I still have a faulty infotainment system. I am not sure why this is happening but I know I am not the only one. I was actually referred to fill out this for by someone else also having this issue. I purchased a new car for safety and reliability which have yet to see from this vehicle. Nissan keeps dismissing my concerns, they essentially told me the car is perfectly fine and functioning to standard. But, how can this be safe? I would be safer in a car from the 90's. I feel cheated, lied to, and taken advantage of. And I KNOW I am not the only one, and now just in the USA, but worldwide.

*All dash screens have gone totally black with no info being displayed while driving at interstate highway speeds. Displays stayed totally black for about 10 minutes and the came back on. *Steering assist activated without any warning without cruise being turned on causing me problems when trying to change lanes. *With the cruise control not being selected, the vehicle suddenly started to accelerate until I applied the brakes and slowed the vehicle. *GPS not reliable. On a recent return trip, the system had us locked on a location we were at possibly 8 hours earlier. The GPS never updated as we came home driving thru West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, & finally New Jersey. *Radio constantly displays a message that no receivable stations are available when we select the AM or FM bands, but Satelite radion is available. Although the radio problems are not a safety issue, they are a nuisance when traveling and trying to listen to local stations for road and weather reports. *Recently occurring problem with the cargo door suddenly closing while we are loading/unloading the cargo area. *We have had the vehicle back to the dealership many times for these problems with no resolutions to these recurring problems. We had opened a case#[XXX] with Nissan North America, but it was closed back in mid March2025 when we thought the problems were resolved. The re-occurring problems caused us to open a new case#[XXX] with Nissan North America. We want Nissan to buy back or replace this vehicle since they cannot resolve the stated problems. The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights were inadvertently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiring harness had failed due to chewing from rodents and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was not available.

Since I drove it off the lot, the display screen intermittently and frequently blacks out leaving me with no music, no GPS, no cameras, no hands free phone. Dealership says they can’t fix it, Nissan North America says they can”t fix it. So I just spent over $49,000 for a brand new vehicle under warranty that no one can fix and I can’t rely on. Without cameras, I am not comfortable driving this defective vehicle. The other display doesn’t work accurately either. Outside temperature shows 75 degrees when in reality it’s 91 degrees and it also shows I got 68.6 miles per gallon (ha, ha). So I keep wondering what’s next?
Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Jun 18, 2024
Car was purchased band new on June 11, 2024. The day after purchase, the screen went blank and there is no backup camera, and has occurred every day. This is a safety issue for me. Had the car in to the service department twice. Nissan approved replacing the screen unit, however; the part is back ordered and it could take months for it to come in. In the meantime, I have a brand new defective car with no backup camera. Dealership said backup camera is not required on cars, hence they do not deem this as a safety issue.
