  2. Engine and engine cooling, engine, hard parts internal/mechanicalFeb 12, 2026

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.

Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

  3. Engine and engine cooling, engine, hard parts internal/mechanicalJun 27, 2025

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2.

  4. Back over preventionOct 3, 2024

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

  1. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 18, 2026

I have tried without success to have Nissan Consumer Affairs assist me with an ongoing issue with my vehicle that started in February of 2026. The check engine light coming on and sending various codes related to system too lean. It was repaired in March of 2026 only to come on again this past August of 2026. Dealership in Crystal Lake Illinois M'Lady claimed it was repaired only for the light to come on again. They still are not sure why it's happening. They've had master technician from Nissan come and still cannot resolve the issue. The case manager at Nissan consumer affairs is extremely rude and unhelpful. She refuses to help me get the outcome desired with this case. She hasn't even bothered to contact the dealer where my car is to inquire about the updates or services done to the car. I want an early termination of my lease so that I can get a vehicle that is in working condition. I'm paying almost $600 a month on a vehicle that isn't safe or functional. Please help me get this resolved as consumer affairs is unwilling to act with efficiency and professionalism. Thanks

  2. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 8, 2026, fire

I am reporting a serious safety incident involving my 2024 Nissan Rogue, which caught fire after a history of shuddering, hesitation, and problems during acceleration. Prior to the fire, I brought the vehicle to a Nissan dealership multiple times because it had a recall and was shuddering during acceleration and at times felt as though it might stall. During these visits, the dealership performed recall related work, diagnostic testing, and repairs involving engine-related components. The vehicle continued to experience similar symptoms after the initial repairs, so I returned to the dealership for further evaluation. Additional work was performed after an intermittent misfire was identified, including replacement of a fuel injector and spark plug and further testing of ignition-related components. Despite these repairs, the vehicle continued to have problems. Shortly afterward, while I was driving, the Rogue experienced a significant loss of acceleration and power and subsequently caught fire. The vehicle sustained extensive fire damage and was ultimately declared a total loss by my insurance company. I am submitting this complaint because the fire occurred after repeated documented symptoms involving shuddering, hesitation, loss of acceleration, and an intermittent misfire, as well as multiple attempts by the dealership to diagnose and repair the problem. I believe this sequence of events should be reviewed by NHTSA to determine whether the fire and preceding loss of power may be related to a safety defect affecting this vehicle or other Nissan Rogues. I have supporting repair records, photographs, insurance documentation, and other information available if requested.

  3. Other or unspecified, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 30, 2026

I am seeking reimbursement for an out-of-pocket repair for a Throttle Body replacement (October 2025) that is now covered under Nissan Safety Recall R25E3. Despite providing the invoice, proof of payment, and the recall completion notice, the representative [XXX] , Case #XXX) has verbally denied the claim. Furthermore, the representative refused to provide a written determination, insisting on phone calls only. This was a documented manufacturing defect (internal gear failure), and I am requesting Nissan honor their safety recall policy and refund my repair costs. 4. Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 7, 2026

Incident Date: 04/05/2026 Vehicle Speed: 65–70 MPH Location: [XXX] Component: Engine / Power Train / Fuel System Summary of Safety Defect: While traveling at highway speeds (65–70 MPH) with four passengers (including two children), the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic engine failure without any prior warning or symptomatic noise. The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) began flashing rapidly, immediately followed by a total loss of motive power. Despite throttle input, the vehicle failed to maintain speed or accelerate, creating an immediate hazard in high-speed traffic. Hazardous Conditions encountered: Upon the loss of power, I observed white smoke trailing from the exhaust and a strong burning odor entering the cabin from the engine compartment. To avoid a high-speed rear-end collision, I was forced to perform an emergency maneuver across active lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder. Due to the immediate fear of a vehicle fire (indicated by the smoke and burning smell), my family was forced to evacuate the vehicle and wait outside in a remote location for six hours. Correlation to Known Defects: This incident appears to be a direct manifestation of the defect described in Nissan Recall ID R25E3/R25E4 / NHTSA ID 26V0801 regarding Engine Main Bearing Seizure. The failure resulted in a complete loss of propulsion and a potential fire risk due to fluid ignition or a breached engine block. Post-Incident Status: The vehicle was towed to Nissan of Cumming and is currently awaiting a formal inspection for internal metal debris. The failure of this critical component under highway conditions posed a life-threatening risk to my family and other motorists. 5. Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 13, 2026

I have a brand new 2024 Nissan rogue I keep it very pristine condition and I follow all recommendations for service on my vehicle. I am down in Naples Florida originally from Crystal Lake Illinois, and while I was at the gas station called Murphy's in Naples I presumably got bad fuel and now I have $3,000 in damages on my car. I asked the Naples Nissan dealership to help me fill out a form to make Murphy's be held accountable and they still haven't done it 5 days later. I'm in a rental car losing money everyday. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and their case manager is in India she's never returned my call, she has never even contacted the dealership and I contacted the consumer affairs department again yesterday asking for a supervisor to call me back but I never got a return call. I'm at a financial loss, and under horrible stress due to all these conditions with no one helping me resolve my issue. I need help please help!

My new 2024 Nissan rogue started to shake and engine light started to blank and cut off power and stopped on the road. Putting our lives at risk for accident on the road. The system check showed that Nissan Turbo had failed a defective safety recall and I need a New engine for my car after less then 1 year. The dealership would not honor this dangerous safety recall issue from Nissan has on the Turbo engine as there is a active recall on 2022 - 2024 Nissan rogue on the VC- Turbo Engine. Nissan and Antwerpen Nissan have not given me any help to fix this defective turbo engine that is putting a lot of drivers like myself at safety risk for a accident on the road. There’s an open recall for my year and engine but have not received a recall letter and zero recalls show open. My car as a grinding noise when accelerating slowly and the engine power is very low when accelerating fast and almost red lines at 30 miles per hour but eventually catches up and goes to normal. Also while driving it feels the car is sucking fumes at times with a full tank of fuel.

  9. Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 30, 2025

After parking in my Rogue in the garage there is a very strong odor of gasoline which doesn't dissapate, even the next day. I have taken to 2 different Nissan dealers and it still persists.I'm afraid the gas odors will ignite my garage.

  10. Other or unspecified, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 22, 2025

Upon starting the vehicle, there is a distinct gas smell that fills the cabin. It goes away after awhile driving, but happens again when the car has been turned off and started again. This comes through the air vents in the cabin. The outside of the car, from under the hood, also smells of gas when parked. The car cannot be parked inside a garage, or the entire garage smells of gas.
