Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 3, 2023. Some owner notification letters were mailed October 31, 2023. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated July 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.
Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2022. Owner notification letters for were mailed for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners starting January 11, 2024. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic Pickup trucks equipped with 3.0L Eco Diesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.
Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect and, as necessary, replace the intake manifold. The recall began April 16, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is VB1.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with an 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.
If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the tailgate latch, free of charge. The recall began May 23, 2019. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 vehicles. Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.
If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling aftermarket Mopar Canvas Seat Covers for certain 2012-2016 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. These Mopar canvas seat covers were sold through Chrysler dealerships beginning October 15, 2015. The seat covers can impede the deployment of the seat thorax airbags.
If the seat cover impedes the air bag deployment, the seat thorax air bags may not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of a injury.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab trucks manufactured August 26, 2013, to August 8, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) that may not fully overlap the C-pillars in the event of a vehicle crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
In the event of a vehicle crash, if a SABIC does not inflate as intended, there is an increased risk of injury to the rear seat occupant.
Chrysler will notify owners, dealers will inspect the right and left side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) for proper orientation and a foil patch will be installed on both sides of the headliner. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 diesel 4x2 trucks manufactured August 8, 2013, to July 2, 2015. The affected vehicles have a battery harness that may rub against the frame bracket for the right engine mount resulting in an electrical short.
If the harness shorts, the vehicle may stall and there is an increased risk of a fire.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to confirm that the battery harness is correctly routed and secured. Any harness that shows evidence of wear will be replaced. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.
Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. The affected vehicles have a steering wheel wiring harness that may rub against the driver air bag module retainer spring.
This abrasion may result in an electrical short that could cause driver's frontal air bag to unexpectedly deploy. Inadvertent deployment of the air bag may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash.

ENGINE MAKING TICKING NOISE AT AROUND 22000 MILES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ASKED THE DEALERSHIP WHAT THE NOISE COULD BE IN DAY REPLY BACK SAYING THAT IT'S JUST THE HEMI ENGINE NOISE AND IT'S NORMAL. I'VE CAME BACK A FEW TIMES AND MENTION THE NOISE AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THAT IT WAS GETTING LOUDER AND LONGER LASTING AT COLD STARTS THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS STILL NORMAL HEMI NOISES. I'VE RESEARCHED AND LOOKED INTO IT AND FOUND IT TO BE AN EXHAUST ISSUE ON THE MANIFOLD DUE TO THE STUDS BREAKING AND SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A COMMON DEFECT AND THEY INFORMED ME IT WOULD BE OVER $1,000 REPAIR AND WAS NOT COVERED DO TO MY TRUCK COMING FROM CANADA AND ALL MY WARRANTY WAS VOIDED I'VE COMPLAINED SEVERAL SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE UNDER THE FEDERAL MANDATED WARRANTY AND THEY SAID NOTHING AND THE TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS 47,000 MILES AND THE NOISE IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2010 2011 WITH THE HEMI ENGINES AND MANUFACTURER WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT REPAIRING OR CORRECTING THE ISSUES! A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED ON THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS! POWER STEERING FAILURE - IN MOTION - ON A CITY STREET - WHILE TURNING. VEHICLE IS OUT OF INITIAL WARRANTY (STILL UNDER 100K MILE) - BUT A MAJOR COMPONENT SUCH AS POWER STEERING SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT 83,828 ODOMETER MILES. THE ENTIRE GEAR RACK HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THE TOTAL BILL WAS $2735.85. CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS YET TO PROVIDE ANY DETAILS EXPLAINING MANUFACTURER LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE PART. THIS VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WELL CARED FOR - THUS THE SUBSEQUENT PHONE CALLS TO BUY MY VEHICLE FROM THE DODGE DEALERSHIP. YET, THERE IS NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THIS PART SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT THIS EARLY MILEAGE OR THAT THEY WILL HELP ME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN REGARDING THE CAM LOCK, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS COMPLETED BY ZEIGLER CHRYSLER, JEEP, RAM, DODGE (3939 STADIUM DR., KALAMAZOO, MI 49008, (269) 375-4500). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,614.

IN MAY 2018 FUEL SENSOR FAIL I HAD TO COME OUT OF MY POCKET TO REPLACE. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK LANDMARK DODGE IN MORROW GA. I ONLY HAD IT FOR A YEAR, ALONG WITH THE FAKE WARRANTY THAT TURN OUT TO BE NO GOOD. I FELT LIKE THEY STOLE MONEY FROM ME THEY DID NOT WORK FOR. NOW TODAY I HAD TO COME OUT OF MY POCKET AGAIN TO PAY FOR A BAD TIPM WITH A BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY. I THOUGHT THAT IF I GET THE TRUCK FROM THE DEALER, IT WOULD BE A FEW YEARS BEFORE START HAVING PROBLEM WITH IT. I EMAIL DODGE SUPPORT ABOUT THE PROBLEM. TAKATA RECALL - THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR MOVING. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE A $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO CHECK IT OUT. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE CHECKED AT NO CHARGE TO ME AS IT REPRESENTS A TRUE SAFETY HAZARD IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY, ESPECIALLY WHEN NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE ON MY 2014 DODGE RAM IS 86000. I CANNOT FIND A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO.

I HAD MY TRUCK AT THE DEALER FOR A RECALL, I NOTICED MY SEATBELT WASN'T LOCKING WHEN I PULLED ON THE SHOULDER STRAP. I ASKED THEM TO LOOK INTO THIS WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS THERE. THEY DID, SAID THE SEATBELT WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT CHRYSLER WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THIS. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW NONE OF MY SEATBELT SHOULDER STRAPS LOCK WHEN YOU PULL ON THEM FAST. I HAVE A CREW CAB TRUCK SO THAT IS 5 SEATBELTS WITH SHOULDER STRAPS. MY DEALERSHIP WAS ON THE PHONE WITH CHRYSLER FOR OVER AN HOUR TRYING TO GET THEM TO COVER THIS SAFETY DEFECT, THEY JUST KEPT SAYING NO, TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY. AFTER READING ALL THESE COMPLAINTS, WILL MY AIRBAGS DEPLOY IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT? I DON'T KNOW AND HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO FIND OUT THE HARD WAY. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME DRIVING OR STANDING STILL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NYE DODGE JEEP RAM (1553 UPPER LENOX AVE, ONEIDA, NY 13421, (315) 277-8955) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

I SCHEDULED AN APPNT. AT 8:30 A.M. TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NORTHLAKE BLVD. IN LAKE PARK, FL AND THEY NEVER DID ANY RECALL REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE NOR CALLED AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE WHEN I PICKED IT UP APPROX. 3:35 P.M. I WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND AFTER MAKING REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO GET THE STATUS OF MY VEHICLE VIA TELEPHONE AT 1:30 P.M. AND AGAIN AT 3:00 P.M. I WAS TRANSFERRED TO VOICE MAILS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD ALREADY LEFT FOR THE DAY. FINALLY, WHEN I ARRIVED FOR MY VEHICLE AND SPOKE WITH ALBERTO, HE SAID THEY CLOSE AT 4 AND HE'S THE PERSON I SPOKE TO AROUND 1:30 WHO SAID MY VEHICLE WOULD BE READY AROUND 3:00. NO ONE MADE ANY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT ME ABOUT MY TRUCK SINCE 8:30, SATURDAY MORNING WHICH IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

CANNOT PUT IT TO WORK IT WILL NOT HAUL A TRAILER, CAN'T DRIVE BECAUSE IT WILL TURN OFF IN BUMPY ROADS, BEEN MARKING ' SHIFT TO DESIRE GEAR TO DRIVE' WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WITH PEOPLE FROM THE AGENCY ( DON DAVIS ) AND THEY SAY THEY CANNOT FIND PROBLEMS. CHANGED SHIFT CRAGTER TWICE, NO LUCK! I TOOK IT WITH THE ENGINGE LIKE TURNED ON AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A 'CODE' THE TRUCK STARTS SHAKING UP BEFORE IT TURNS OFF COMPLETELY. IT'S A MATTER OF SAFETY FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AFTER PUTTING IT INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT INTO REVERSE. THE DOOR KNOCKED ME DOWN AS I WAS CAUGHT IN THE SHOULDER SEAT BELT AND DRAGGED ME APPROXIMATELY 15 FEET. AFTER BEING RELEASED, THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE IN REVERSE AND RAN INTO A STOREFRONT. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH MINOR INJURIES AS NO ONE ELSE WAS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST WITH THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFT, SPECIFICALLY WHEN MOVING IT FROM DRIVE TO PARK. SOMETIMES IT SEEMS TO GET STUCK IN REVERSE EVEN THOUGH THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS SHOWING PARK.

UNABLE TO RESET BY RESTARTING TRUCK, OR DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. COST OVER $2500 TO HAVE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED. CONCERN HAPPENED WHILE SITTING STILL, AND WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.

ON FEBRUARY I DROVE FROM MY HOME SEVERAL MILES TO A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT TAKING AN INTERSTATE ON THE WAY. I USED MY CRUISE CONTROL ON MY WAY THERE AND JUST PRESSED THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE IT WHEN I EXITED THE INTERSTATE. I THEN CONTINUED TO THE DRIVE TO THE RESTAURANT WHERE I PULLED INTO A LINE TO THE DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW AS I MOVED THROUGH THE LINE I WOULD APPLY MY BRAKE TO STOP AND AS CARS PULLED FORWARD I JUST LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO SLOWLY MOVE FORWARD THEN PRESSED THE BRAKE AGAIN TO STOP. I DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THEN SUDDENLY WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE MY TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND RAN INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BEFORE I COULD STOP IT. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE AND I WERE NOT INJURED AND DROVE TO THE PARKING LOT TO EXCHANGE INSURANCE INFORMATION. SINCE THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT I RECENTLY CHECKED FOR RECALLS OM MY TRUCK AND FOUND ONE RELATED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL NHTSA # 18V-332 WHICH COULD BE RELATED TO MY ACCIDENT. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THE RECALL SERVICE DONE JUNE 30, 2018 AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER.

VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE A DEMAND OF 1500 BUCKS UP FRONT TO EVEN LOOK AT THIS TRUCK.. EVENTUALLY I HAD WRECKER BRING IT FROM DEALERSHIP HOME WHERE IS SITS ON RAMPS IN THE BACK YARD. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BY CHRYSLER TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS. ACCORDING TO CODES FROM OBD-II SUGGEST THE POTENTIAL OF AIRBAGS EXPLODING WITHOUT WARNING AT ANY TIME...
