  6. Fuel system, gasoline, storage, auxillary tankNov 24, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 21, 2008, to March 4, 2011, and 2010-2011 Mercury Milan vehicles manufactured July 23, 2008, to December 10, 2010. The affected vehicles have fuel vapor canisters whose purge valves may not operate properly resulting in abnormal pressure changes in the fuel tank.

The pressure changes may cause the tank to crack and leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle powertrain control modules and inspect the vehicle for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for this issue and perform a leak test on the Canister Purge Valve (CPV). The fuel tank will be inspected for cracks. The CPV and fuel tank will be replaced as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S34.

  7. Steering, electric power assist systemJun 2, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Ford Fusion vehicles without a 3.5L engine and Lincoln MKZ hybrid electric vehicles, 2011 Mercury Milan vehicles, 2011-2012 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, and Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine and 2013 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, and Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with any available engine. The affected vehicles have electric power steering assist systems that may shut down as a result of a steering motor sensor fault.

If the vehicle experiences a loss of power steering assist, extra steering effort will be required at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will check the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). If dealers find any loss of steering assist DTCs, the steering gear will be replaced, free of charge. If, no codes are found during the PSCM inspection, the PSCM software will be updated, free of charge. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. 8. EquipmentMay 29, 2014

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain all weather driver side accessory floor mats sold for use in model year 2006-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2007-2011 Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured November 9, 2007, through October 31, 2010. The affected floor mats may move and possibly interfere with the accelerator pedal.

The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install new replacement mats, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S07. NOTE: Vehicles built after October 31, 2010, while potentially equipped with the same floor mats, are equipped with a Brake Over Accelerator (BOA) feature that prevents simultaneous accelerator and brake application, allowing the vehicle to be safely stopped by pressing firmly and steadily on the brake pedal.

  9. Wheels, lugs/nuts/bolts/studsDec 7, 2011

FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 FORD FUSION AND MERCURY MILAN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 17 INCH STEEL WHEELS AND BUILT FROM APRIL 1, 2009, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2009, AND FROM DECEMBER 1, 2009, THROUGH NOVEMBER 13, 2010. THE WHEEL STUDS MAY FRACTURE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING A WHEEL TO SEPARATE.

WHILE DRIVING, MULTIPLE STUD FRACTURES COULD OCCUR AT THE WHEEL LOCATION, AND THE OPERATOR MAY EXPERIENCE VEHICLE VIBRATION AND/OR WHEEL SEPARATION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

FORD WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE REAR BRAKE DISC SURFACE FOR FLATNESS AND REPLACE THE DISCS AS NECESSARY. ADDITIONALLY, THE WHEEL LUG NUTS WILL BE REPLACED ON ALL FOUR WHEELS. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 24, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332.

  1. Air bags, Mar 21, 2019

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY RECALL TO BE FIXED SINCE JULY OF 2018. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD STATING THEY WOULD PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX THE AIRBAGS. I CONTACTED BOB DAVIDSON FORD AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD PUT ME ON A LIST TO FIX THE AIRBAGS AND TO PROVIDE A RENTAL. IT'S MARCH AND I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. I CONTACTED ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP, BUD NORRIS FORD, AND THEY STATED THAT THEY AREN'T GIVING OUT RENTALS ANYMORE AND FORD ONLY TOLD ME THEY WERE GIVING OUT RENTALS TO GET ME OFF OF THE PHONE AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. I CONTACTED A THIRD FORD DEALERSHIP, AL PACKER, AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT EITHER. SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND A CAR WITH AIRBAGS THAT COULD KILL ME WITH NO ONE ABLE TO FIX THEM. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU GET ON A LIST BECAUSE I'VE TALKED TO BREE DEALERSHIPS AND NOT ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR CALL ME BACK AND TELL ME WHEN THEY COULD FIX IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. ..*BF.. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING ABILITY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LEVITTOWN FORD (3195 HEMPSTEAD TURNPIKE, LEVITTOWN, NY 11756, (516) 336-4718) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS 3,000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR COSTS. 4. Steering, Mar 15, 2019

SOME TIMES MY POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK & GOES TO MANUAL, WENT TO DEALER IN 2017 AND WAS TOLD NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, NOW I WAS TOLD MILES WENT 2 150,000 SOME MILES & MINE ARE OVER THAT, THIS COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT, HAPPENED AFTER I STARTED TO DRIVE DOWN STREET

  5. Steering, Vehicle speed control, Electronic stability control (ESC), Mar 13, 2019

THE POWER STEERING IN MY 2011 FORD FUSION HAS BEEN GOING OUT PERIODICALLY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A WIDE TURN BECAUSE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL. THERE'S BEEN SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN I CAUSED TRAFFIC JAMS OR ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED SINCE THE CAR BEHIND ME DIDN'T EXPECT ME TO TAKE SO LONG TO TURN. A LOT OF TIMES THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHEN I'M STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. I CAN STILL DRIVE THE CAR TO MY DESTINATION LOCALLY USING THE STREETS BUT I FEAR THAT IT WILL GO OUT ONE DAY WHILE I'M DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. LUCKILY IT'S USUALLY ONLY ME IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENS BUT I'M AFRAID THAT IT MIGHT ALSO HAPPEN WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR. IT'S ALSO FRUSTRATING BECAUSE ONLY I CAN DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE WHEN IT HAPPENED ONCE WHEN MY WIFE DROVE IT, SHE PANICKED AND WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO TURN THE WHEEL. THIS TIME, SHE DID HAVE ONE OF MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I HAD TO GO MEET HER AND DRIVE IT HOME. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES WITH THE SAME MAKE, .MODEL, AND YEAR HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES YET ONLY CERTAIN VEHICLES ARE PART OF A RECALL. MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING EXACTLY EVERYTHING THAT THE RECALL SAYS IT WOULD YET WHEN I RUN MY VIN #[XXX] THROUGH FORDS DATABASE, MY CAR DOES NOT FALL UNDER THIS POWER STEERING RECALL. WHICH I FIND VERY DISTURBING. I'VE ALSO CONTACTED FORD CORPORATE AND MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY JUST ADVISE ME THAT MY VIN # IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. WHICH IS VERY ODD. SINCE MY CAR IS EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL DESCRIBES. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

AFTER CLIMBING OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND WALKING AROUND THE CAR THE DRIVER'S DOOR DID OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. FORD LISTS A RECALL FOR 2013-2014 FUSION, BUT NOT EARLIER YEARS. 14. Structure, Mar 5, 2019

THE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND I WAS GETTING READY TO GO INTO A STORE. IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN. I AM DISABLED BUT AM ABLE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE. I WAS READY GETTING READY TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. AS I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR HANDLE I FELT THE DOOR GO LOOSE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE KNEES THAT WERE FRACTURED AND I MUST WEAR KNEE BRACES ON THEM. I HAD TO CRAWL TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO GET OUT. I REALLY HURT MY ARMS BY CRAWLING ACROSS THE VEHICLE. IT FLOODS A LOT IN HOUSTON WHERE I LIVE. THIS IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. I MUST BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE QUICKLY DURING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION SUCH AS FLOODING. FORD HAS RECALLED THE 2010 AND 2012 FUSIONS FOR THE DOOR HANDLES. WHY HAVEN'T THE 2011 FUSIONS BEEN RECALLED? THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW.

I WAS IN A SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT FEBRUARY 23, 2015 WHERE I SLID OFF AN ICY BACK ROAD CAUSING SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE WHICH WAS REPAIRED AT MILNES FORD IN LAPEER, MI. DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT THEY NEVER DID. I NOW HAVE A BULGED DISK IN MY NECK AND ANOTHER IN MY LUMBAR SPINE. A LATER COMPUTER SCAN FOR A SEPARATE ISSUE INDICATED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. WHEN THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS WERE DONE, THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT CHECK AND NEVER ADDRESSED THE FAILURE TO DEPLOY. THE ONLY TOWING THAT WAS DONE WAS TO GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF A DITCH.

WHEN DRIVING MY 2011 FORD FUSION GOING STRAIGHT ON CLEAR ROAD THE BRAKES FAIL AFTER HITTING A BUMP AND OR POTHOLE WHILE PRESSING ON THE BRAKES. ITS LIKE A " PERFECT STORM" IN ORDER TO DUPLICATE IT. YOU HAVE TO BE DRIVING AND ALMOST AT THE SAME TIME PRESS THE BRAKE AND HIT THE BUMP/POTHOLE. THE BRAKES FAIL. THE PEDDLE GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TO STOP THE CAR I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES WHILE CAR STILL IN MOTION FOR IT TO STOP. EVENTUALLY THE BRAKES COME BACK AFTER FRANTICALLY PUMPING THE BRAKES. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME NOW. I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE I'M SCARED THAT I MAY DIE IN A CRASH WITH ME AND MY FAMILY.

2011 FORD FUSION RECALL. I HAD THE RECALL COMPETED ON MY FORD FUSION FOR THE STEERING GEAR. WITHIN 6 MONTHS, MY STEERING GEAR LOCKED UP AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. FORD REFUSES TO DO ANOTHER RECALL ON THIS PART. THEY SAID IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY TO HAVE THIS DONE NOW SINCE I HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED ONE RECALL. THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR 2 STEERING GEAR RECALLS. HOW IS IT MY RESPONSIBILITY WHEN APPARENTLY THEY DIDN'T FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
