Power train, manual transmissionJun 9, 2026
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Focus and 2013-2016 Fusion vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall numbers 18V169 and 18V845. The clutch may fracture, resulting in damage to the transmission assembly and possibly a transmission fluid leak.
A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.
Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Additionally, dealers will inspect Focus vehicles and replace the clutch assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S43. Power train, automatic transmission, gear position indication (prndl)Jun 10, 2022
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Service brakes, hydraulic, pedals and linkagesJan 13, 2022
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii. Exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to corrode and separate from the brake pedal.
A separated brake pedal bumper can cause the brake lights to illuminate continuously, causing confusion to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash. On automatic transmission vehicles, a missing brake pedal bumper can allow the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "PARK" position without depressing the brake, allowing the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will replace the brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on March 4, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 13, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S02.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.
A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

I WAS PARKED FILLING MY CAR WITH GAS. WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN, IT WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. THE REASON I WAS GIVEN AFTER HAVING THE CAR INSPECTED WAS AS FOLLOWS: THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING AT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS COPLETELY GONE. FOUND SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WORN TO THE POINT THAT IT SEPERATED FROM THE SHIFT CABLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR THE MODEL OF MY FUSION. THE RECALL NUMBER FOR OTHER FUSION MODELS IS 18V471000 WITH A RECALL DATE OF 7/16/2018. FORD'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS LISTED AS 18S20. BECAUSE THIS RECALL IS FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM I HAD WITH MY FUSION, I BELIEVE MY MODEL NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

MARCH 7 2019 I TURNED MY CAR ON NOTICED MY HEAT WAS NOT ON AND MY SEAT DID NOT MOVE, TURNED MY CAR OFF AND ON STILL WASN'T WORKING, TOUCH SCREEN WASN'T WORKING, PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS DIDN'T WORK THE DRIVER SIDE DID, THERE WASN'T ANYTHING SHOWING THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. DROVE HOME WITHOUT ANY HEAT, WHEN I GOT HOME I TURNED IT OFF AND ON, THEN EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. MARCH 10, I WAS DRIVING NO WARNING LIGHTS, MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF DRIVING THROUGH MY APARTMENT ON THE WAY TO STORE THEN IT TURNED BACK ON. THEN I DROVE FOR A COUPLE HOURS WENT TO ANOTHER STORE LEFT MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH THE DOG AND SOME MUSIC THEN IT SAID THAT IT WAS GOING TO SHUT DOWN TO CONSERVE BATTERY, MY CAR WAS DEAD COULDN'T TURN OVER I HAD TO GET A JUMP TO GET IT TO START. TOOK IT TO A SHOP MARCH 11 THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR AND THERE WAS NO CODES.

CAR STALLS AND CUTS OFF WHILE VEHICLE IN IN OPERATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT FIRST BEGAN TO HAPPEN, THEY STATED THAT IT WAS PUT ON THE MACHINE AND NOTHING LIT UP SO THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS KEPT HAPPENING, FOR WEEKS IT WOULD DRIVE NORMAL AND THEN JUST START CUTTING OFF AGAIN WHILE I'M DRIVING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM. IT COST ALMOST $300 DOLLARS FOR THE REPAIR. WE GOT THE CAR BACK AND THREE DAYS LATER IT WAS CUTTING OFF AGAIN. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND THIS TIME THEY STATED IT WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND THAT THE PART WAS COVERED. AFTER WE WERE TOLD THE PART WAS COVERED THE DEALERSHIP CALLED US BACK AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED. I GOOGLED THIS PARTICULAR CAR AND NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND ALSO GIVEN THE RUN AROUND ABOUT NOT KNOWING WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHY ISNT THE WHOLE CAR RECALLED AND WHY HAVEN'T THIS PROBLEM BEEN LISTED UNDER THE RECALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS ROAD AND SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHERS ON THE ROAD.
Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 3, 2019
MY CARS ENGINE SHUTS OFF AFTER ACCELERATING WITH NO WARNING. NO ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON DURING THE PROCESS AND MY CAR REMAINS IN MOTION BUT CAN'T ACCELERATE. THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE VIGOROUSLY WHEN RIGHT BEFORE SHUTTING OFF. I NEED TO SHUT OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET IT GOING, BUT IT BECOMES DANGEROUS WHEN ON THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO CAN'T DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS AFTER A SECOND STARTUP OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN AN HOUR TIME OF SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AFTER THE SECOND FAILED DRIVE, EVERYTHING WORKS CORRECTLY AGAIN. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS KEEP WORKING WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. HAPPENED 12 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR ME SINCE FEBRUARY.

I HAVE A 2014 FORD FUSION ECOBOOST 2.0 TURBO THE VEHICLE RUNS GREAT UNTIL YOU SHUT IT OFF. ONCE YOU START IT UP IT RUNS FINE THEN WITHIN A FEW MINUTES NOT EVERYTIME IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF. IT WILL ALSO START SHAKING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THEN SHUTOFF. I HAVE AVOIDED TWO HEAD ON COLLISIONS AT INTERSECTIONS TURNING LEFT WHEN THE ENGIN DIED, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT BOTH TIMES AFTER A FEW MINUTES THEN I NEARLY HAD A REAR END IMPACT WHEN MERGING ON THE FREEWAY, I W AS GOING 65-70 AND AS I MERGED OVER THE CAR SPUTTERED AND SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND WAIT FOR A TOW.. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE ALL WITH A FORD ECOBOOST ENGINE THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE THE PURGE VALVE. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS ALL ECOBOOST MOTORS. THIS IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON THE FORD FOCUS 2.0 LITER CARS. SUFFICE TO SAY I AM VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN EVER I DRIVE IT NOW. I WANT IT FIXED OR GONE. THIS STILL HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY.

SERV AND AND 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE AT 2 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS. THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN FIXED AS RECALLS FOR THOUSANDS OF OTHER FORD OWNERS BUT THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. NOT ONLY WAS MY FAMILY PUT IN DANGER, BUT THE COST OF THESE REPAIRS IS OVER 8500.00. THE VALUE OF THIS VEHICLE IS 4000, AND I STILL OWE 9000. PLEASE HELP ME FIND A WAY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT IS A COINCIDENCE THAT MY CAR JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS YET THEY REFUSE TO FIX MINE. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ME, YET THEY HAVE ISSUED RECALLS FOR THESE SAME PROBLEMS FOR OTHERS,,,NOT A COINCIDENCE, THANK YOU ..VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET FOR BOTH OCCURRENCES. THIS IS A 2014 FORD FUSION TITANIUM. 42,*** MILES ON THE CAR. MY CAR IS A CERTIFIED PREOWED CAR. I JUST STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND 3 DIFFERENT WARNINGS CAME ON. THE CAR WASN'T MOVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. DRIVEN THE NIGHT BEFORE NO PROBLEMS. I HAVEN'T HIT ANYTHING OR ANY OTHER SERVICE PERFORMED SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE. LIGHTS THAT CAME ON STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. THESE ARE THE LIGHT AND WARNINGS THAT CAME ON. THIS MAKES IT TO WHERE THE CAR HAD NO POWER STEERING AND VERY HARD TO MOVE THE WHEEL. I HAD TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY'RE CURRENTLY LOOKING AT IT FOR THE CAUSE. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF THE WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON.

MY CAR IS A 2014 FORD FUSION I PURCHASED AT THE DEALERSHIP 2 YEARS AGO. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL RECENTLY. AFTER I TURN ON MY CAR AND SWITCH GEAR TO "DRIVE" MY CAR WILL SHUT DOWN WITHIN 20 FEET. I HAVE TO PARK THE CAR AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND TRY AGAIN; IT ALWAYS HAPPENS LATER ON DURING THE DAY WHEN DRIVING OFF A PARKING LOT. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT NEVER COMES OF, BUT THERE IS CERTAINLY A PROBLEM WHEN THE CAR SHUTS DOWN ON IT'S OWN; IT NEVER SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED, BUT I AM TRULY CONCERN WITH THIS MATTER. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED IT WILL COST ME $110.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH I PAID. I WAITED FOR 4 HOURS AND ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC THE ANTIFREEZE IS MIXING WITH THE ENGINE OIL AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL OCCASIONALLY AND THE COST OF REPAIR WILL BE $2,100.00. WHEN I CHECKED THE CAR ALONG WITH A PERSONAL MECHANIC THERE IS NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING MIXING WITH THE ENGINE OIL, THE OIL IS CLEAN IS NOT MILKY AND IT SMELLS FINE. BOTTOM LINE I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS SERIOUS ISSUE AND EVEN MORE SO THAT FORD DEALERSHIP WAS SO DISHONEST ABOUT THE CAR SYMPTOMS. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT BUY A FORD AGAIN AND STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR

I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I SHIFTED MY CAR INTO THE PARK POSITION AND REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BREAK, ALLOWING MY CAR TO PULL FORWARD AGAIN. THANKFULLY I WAS IN A PARKING AREA WITH PLENTY OF ROOM. NO ONE WAS HURT AND NO PROPERTY DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED. THIS PROBLEM LEAVES YOU WITH NO TRANSMISSION CONTROLS. FORD DOES HAVE A RECALL ON THE VERY PROBLEM MY CAR EXPERIENCED BUT, UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED, LEAVING ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM MYSELF. FORD NEEDS TO EXPAND THE RECALL SINCE IT IS OBVIOUSLY A BIGGER PROBLEM THEN THEY BELIEVE WITH MY CAR HAVING THIS SAME FAILURE. THE LAST RECALL THEY FIXED ,SEATBELT ON FRONT PASSENGER, HAS ONLY HAD MORE ISSUES OF RETRACTING THEN BEFORE THE SERVICE, DOES MAKE ME WONDER IF IT'S NOT BETTER THAT I REPAIRED THE FAILURE PERSONALLY. IT FAILED AT 90K BUT I HAVE HAD NO MORE ISSUES AFTER A 20 DOLLAR REPAIR.

MY ABS, POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL, REAR VIEW ASSIST, AIRBAG LIGHT ALL WENT OFF AT THE SAME TIME. I LIVE IN MICHIGAN, SO THERE IS SALT ON THE ROAD DURING THE WINTER. IT SEEMS THERE IS A FORD RECALL 15S14 THAT SEEMS TO ADDRESS THIS BUT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX STATING THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY FUSION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN THE WINTER. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. I AM DISTURBED AT FORD AND THE DEALERSHIPS RESPONSE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
