ON MONDAY OCTOBER 1,2018 AT 8 AM I DROVE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL, WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE, AND GAS STATION. MY CAR DROVE FINE. BY 11:00 AM I'M LEAVING HOME HEADING TO WORK AND WHILE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD DRIVING 25 MPH MY CAR LOST ACCELERATION, BEGAN TO JERK, SHAKE REALLY BAD, AND SHUT OFF. I TURNED IT BACK ON. IT SHOOK AGAIN AND SHUT OFF. I MANAGED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND SLOW ROLL INTO A PARKING SPACE. I WAITED 5 MINS STARTED THE CAR AND SLOWLY DROVE IT BACK HOME. WHEN PULLING INTO MY SPACE. THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT PRESS DOWN. I COULD NOT BRAKE!!!! THE CAR SHUT OFF. WHILE HAVING IT INSPECTED, I STARTED IT AND NOW WHITE SMOKE COMES OUT OF THE TAILPIPE. I DRIVE THE TURNPIKE AT 80 MPH TO GET TO WORK. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND I COULDN'T BRAKE. I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE. WHAT IF I HAD MY KIDS WITH ME AND WE GOT IN A BAD ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS??? THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR ON APRIL 7, 2018. I'VE ONLY HAD IT 6 MONTHS AND HAD THE MAINTENANCE DONE ON IT IN JUNE. I JUST NOW NEED AN OIL CHANGE. I ONLY HAVE 66,611 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR AT 49,000 MILES.

SHIFTER CABLE COMING LOOSE WHILE PARKING MY VEHICLE, FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NO RECALL
Power train, Sep 28, 2018
THE FORD REFERENCE NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS 18S20 - REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER ALL FORD FUSIONS FROM 2014 - 2016 THAT WERE BUILT BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 2014 - DECEMBER 31, 2015. CURRENTLY THE RECALL ONLY COVERS THE FOLLOWING: 2014-16 FORD FUSION VEHICLES BUILT AT HERMOSILLO STAMPING AND ASSEMBLY PLANT BETWEEN JUNE 2, 2014 AND AUG. 31, 2015 UNFORTUNATELY, MY THIS HAPPEN TO ME RECENTLY. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN OCTOBER 2015 SO IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND COST ME 220.00 TO HAVE A PLASTIC BUSHING REPLACED. LUCKY THE DAY THAT MY CAR GOT STUCK IN REVERSE WAS A DAY I DECIDED TO GO HOME INSTEAD OF TO MY APPOINTMENT WHERE I WOULD HAVE PARKED ON AN INCLINE WHERE DAMAGE WOULD HAVE OCCURRED NOT ONLY TO MY CAR, BUT TO OTHER PROPERTY, AS WELL AS, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED. APPEARS THAT THESE BUSHINGS ARE FAILING AT AN ALARMING RATE. DEMAND A RECALL BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL FORD FUSIONS MADE FROM ALL PLANTS FROM JANUARY 1, 2014 - DECEMBER 31, 2015 FOR - 2014 - 2016 FORD FUSIONS

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, 12 MPH. HUSBAND MADE A LEFT TURN FROM ALMOST A STOPPING POSITION. HE PROCEEDED ABOUT ONE FOOT AND THE ENGINE STOPPED AFTER IT SPUTTERED EXTREMELY AND MADE A LOUD NOISE. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE WHEN HE HIT THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH A WRENCH AND MESSAGE TO CHECK THE MANUAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO JERRY'S FORD ALEXANDRIA AND THEY SAID THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED. COST WAS $610. THEY DISCOUNTED THE PRICE TO $510 AND THREW IN A FREE OIL CHANGE AND DETAILING WHICH WAS AWESOME. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER 2016 FORD FUSIONS AND WONDERED WHY FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE OR AT LEAST INFORM OWNERS TO BEWARE. . CAR HAS ABOUT 46,800 MILES ON IT AS I BOUGHT IT JUNE 2015.

FORD ISSUES TWO SAFETY RECALLS IN NORTH AMERICA 2014-16 FORD FUSION VEHICLES BUILT AT HERMOSILLO STAMPING AND ASSEMBLY PLANT BETWEEN JUNE 2, 2014 AND AUG. 31, 2015 SELECT 2013-16 MODEL YEAR FORD FUSION AND 2013-14 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS FORD IS ISSUING A SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR APPROXIMATELY 550,000 2013-16 MODEL YEAR FORD FUSION AND 2013-14 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS. ON AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. A DEGRADED SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING THAT DETACHES FROM THE TRANSMISSION MAY ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY THE DRIVER. THE CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO 'PARK' AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN 'PARK,' WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME. IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, A DEGRADED SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING THAT DETACHES FROM THE TRANSMISSION COULD RESULT IN UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR CRASH. FORD IS NOT AWARE OF ANY ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES RELATED TO THIS CONDITION. THIS HAPPEN TO ME AND NOW FORD IS NOT HONORING THE RECALL STATING IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE AFTER INVESTIGATING WHICH PLANT ASSEMBLY MADE MY VEHICLE BY THE VIN NUMBER IT SHOWS...PLANT CITY: HERMOSILLO -- MANUFACTURER: FORD MOTOR COMPANY, MEXICO. .
Service brakes, Sep 11, 2018
THE STOPLIGHT SWITCH, WHICH TURNS ON AND OFF THE BRAKE LIGHTS, IS ACTIVATED BY A RUBBER GROMMET/BUSHING/PAD WHICH IS INSERTED INTO A HOLE ON THE BRAKE ARM ASSEMBLY. OVER TIME, THIS PART DETERIORATED AND BROKE INTO LITTLE PIECES AND FELL OUT OF PLACE. WITHOUT IT IN PLACE, THE STOPLIGHT SWITCH DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN THIS OCCURRED, HOWEVER IT WAS NOTICED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. FURTHER YET, FORD DOES NOT OFFER THIS BUMPER AS A SPARE PART, NOR DO THEY EVEN KNOW THE PART NUMBER, FORCING ME TO RETROFIT THE VEHICLE WITH AN AFTERMARKET PART. I WOULD ASSUME THE THICKNESS OF THE PAD IS CRITICAL TO RELIABLE BRAKE LIGHT OPERATION, SO I WILL BE FORCED TO MAKE A RISKY MODIFICATION.

STRANDED BECAUSE SHIFTER CABLE BROKE. I HAD TO DRIVE A RENTAL CAR HOME FROM OHIO.I WAS ABLE TO BYPASS THE SHIFTER CABLE TO GET HOME AND NOT TAKE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR. I HAD KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE WEATHER WAS 103 DEGREES. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR FOR ME TO START AND PUT THE AIR ON. KIDS WERE REALLY HOT AND I HAVE TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNTIL THE REVISED PARTS COME IN. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS. CAR WONT START, BECAUSE THE CAR DOESNT KNOW IT IS IN PARK.

YESTERDAY, I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE TO GET OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. WHEN I SHIFTED MY AUTOMATIC INTO DRIVE, THE CAR CONTINUED TO BACK UP. I PUT MY CAR INTO PARK TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. ALTHOUGH MY SHIFTER WAS IN PARK, MY CAR WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND BEGAN TO COAST FORWARD. I UNABLE TO GET MY CAR INTO PART. FORD SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE THAT STATES THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM (SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 18S29/ NHTSA RECALL 18V471). I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP (BOB DAVIDSON FORD). THE NEXT MORNING THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALLED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $576 TO REPAIR THE FAULTY PART THAT IS SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. THAT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. FIRST, WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE AN UNSAFE PART PUT IN MY CAR UNTIL THE CORRECT PART IS AVAILABLE AND WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR ANY REPAIR OF A PART THAT IS SUBJECT TO A SAFETY RECALL?
