Air bags, frontal, driver side, inflator moduleMar 10, 2021
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Ranger, 2006-2012 Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln MKZ, 2006-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX vehicles. The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator or module with an alternate one, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 9, 2021 for the passenger side, and November 14, 2022 for the driver side. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S12.

Air bags, frontalFeb 16, 2021
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2005-2014 Mustang, 2004-2011 Ranger, 2009-2011 Mercury Milan, 2006 Ford GT, 2008-2012 Fusion, 2007-2010 Edge and Lincoln MKX, and 2009-2010 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with a driver or passenger frontal air bag inflator used as a replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the frontal air bag, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver and passenger air bag module, and replace either the module or the inflator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 17, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S05.

Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, control unit/moduleDec 18, 2019
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2006-2010 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ vehicles. The valves within the ABS Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) may react with brake fluids containing specific corrosion preventative additives. This reaction may cause the valves to not close properly.
If the valves do not properly close, additional brake pedal travel may be required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will flush the brake system with DOT 4 fluid and install a new brake fluid reservoir cap. In addition, the HCU will be tested to detect a possible stuck valve condition, replacing the HCU as necessary. All services will be performed free of charge. The recall began April 1, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S54.

EquipmentMay 29, 2014
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain all weather driver side accessory floor mats sold for use in model year 2006-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2007-2011 Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured November 9, 2007, through October 31, 2010. The affected floor mats may move and possibly interfere with the accelerator pedal.
The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install new replacement mats, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S07. NOTE: Vehicles built after October 31, 2010, while potentially equipped with the same floor mats, are equipped with a Brake Over Accelerator (BOA) feature that prevents simultaneous accelerator and brake application, allowing the vehicle to be safely stopped by pressing firmly and steadily on the brake pedal.

DOOR HANDLE INCLUDING THE LOCK ARE DANGEROUS! FIRST, THE COATING OVER THE PLASTIC LEVER NECESSARY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BEGAN SPLITING AND BECAME VERY SHARP. MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF BEGAN RECEIVING RAZOR SHARP CUTS TRYING TO EXIT. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO FORD DOR SOMETHING ELSE AND ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT THERE WAS NONE. I HAD TO TAPE OVER THE HANDLES. NEXT, MY DRIVER'S DOOR HAND BROKE OFF IN MY HAND AND I HAD TO LOWER MY WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. WHAT WOULD I'VE DONE IF MY WINDOW DIDN'T WORK, WHEN I LIVE IN FL AND THE INSIDE TEMPERATURE OF CARS GROWS INTO TRIPLE DIGITS! I HAD TO REPLACE AND INSTALL A NEW HANDLE I PURCHASED ONLINE. WHEN I NOTICED THE READILY AVAILABILITY OF THE PARTS, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON REPLACEMENT. WELL IT'S A GOOD THING TO KNOW BECAUSE NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS NOW MALFUNTIONING. I HOPE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN TO RECALL AND REPLACE MY HANDLES OR AT LEAST REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPLACEMENTS I'VE HAD TO PURCHASE. ALSO, I'VE BEEN WAITING ON A RECALL THAT WAS JUST UPDATED. I'VE BEEN WAITING 2YRS AND THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PART?! IS IT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE?

TAKATA RECALL. MY VEHICLE HAS AN AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL AS OF JUNE 1ST 2016. A VEHICLE WITH A SAFETY FEATURE DEFECT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AND LOANER VEHICLES ARE NOT BEING ISSUED. WHY AM I SUBJECT TO INJURY OR POSSIBLE DEATH BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART THAT HASN'T BEEN REPLACED? MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE TAKATA RECALL, AND THERE IS NOT YET A REMEDY FOR THE RECALL. IT'S BEEN 15 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY A FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, THAT THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. WHICH IS WRONG BECAUSE IF EVERYTHING WAS FINE THEN THERE WOULDN'T BE A RECALL ON IT. AND WHY IS IT THAT FORD ISN'T GIVING OUT LOANER OR RENTAL VEHICLES TO CONSUMERS WHO ARE AFFECTED BY THE RECALL? WHY IS IT THAT NHTSA AND HONDA ADVISE THAT THEIR VEHICLES EFFECTED BY THE RECALL ONLY BE DRIVEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR, BUT FOR FORDS NHTSA SAYS THEY ARE SAFE TO DRIVE? IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHAT MAKE OR MODEL, IF IT IS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL THEN IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. I SHOULD NOT BE EXPECTED TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE, JUST BECAUSE THE PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE. THAT IS PUTTING SO MANY LIVES AT RISK. I, AS SHOULD OTHERS AFFECTED, BE ISSUED A LOANER OR RENTAL VEHICLE AT THE COMPANIES EXPENSE, FOR HAVING A DEFECTING PART IN THEIR VEHICLE. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT AROUND LIKE A SITTING DUCK HOPING THAT NOTHING HAPPENS. THIS NEEDS TO ADDRESSED AND FIX RIGHT AWAY.

AFTER ABS ENGAGED, LOSS OF BRAKE FEEL AND AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE. THE TOP INCH OF PEDAL TRAVEL FELT NORMAL FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL INCHES OF NO BRAKE "FEEL" UNTIL NEAR THE BOTTOM OF PEDAL TRAVEL WHERE BRAKING RESUMED. THIS OCCURS ONLY AFTER THE ABS ENGAGES AND LASTS FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TO SEVERAL DAYS AFTER. BRAKE LOSS RESULTED IN A NEAR COLLISION. ABS ENGAGING AFTER EVENT IS NOT AS EFFECTIVE AS INITIAL ABS EVENT RESULTING IN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE WHILE ABS IS ENGAGING. THIS HAS OCCURED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE MOST RECENT EVENT HAPPENING ON 7/13/2017. ISSUE USUALLY RESOLVES A DAY OR TWO AFTER OCCURIMG BUT WILL REOCCUR IF ABS IS ENGAGED AGAIN.
